Episode 182 - October 1, 2014
Nick Webb: Welcome everybody to Wednesday Night Havok! We are across the border tonight, in lovely Mexico City, Mexico -
Rayne: Don't drink the water! HA!
Nick Webb: - AHEM, and we have one hell of a show for you this evening! The younger half-brother of our founder, David Blazenwing, makes his BWF debut in the main event of the evening, as he teams with Havok's newest addition, former Crisis World Champion Gabe Shelley, to take on the woman who nearly won the BWF World Title at Retribution, Alli Taylor, and a woman who has won the title in the past and no doubt will again, Elizabeth Davis!
Rayne: You done? Cool. All that happens later tonight, but right now, we're kicking things off with another returning talent to Havok, as Omen IV teams with Kristy Jackson to take on the Ryder Brothers! Let's go to the ring!
The opening contest for Havok features the return of Omen IV to the brand after a brief stint as a member of the Crisis roster. He was traded to Havok at the behest of former International Champion Kristy Jackson, who wished to form a team with the masked luchadore after initial success the duo had months prior as a makeshift duo. The contest is all over the place, and we don't mean sloppy; Omen, Kristy, Mike and Justin Ryder all fly across the ring, entertaining fans at a breakneck pace.
Nick Webb: I'm impressed by all four of these young athletes here tonight! Omen in particular is getting a huge reception here!
Rayne: No crap, we're in MEXICO! He's like their Tom Cruise! Or Jesus!
Nick Webb: I'm pretty sure Jesus is their Jesus.
Rayne: Yeah, but how many of them does it take to mow a lawn? HA!
Nick Webb: ...oh lord, we're not getting out of this country alive, are we?
The Ryders do their best to keep Kristy from tagging into Omen, but eventually, she breaks free and Omen takes over, dominating the match from that point until he finally catches Justin in his Mareas Misteriosas (Triangle Hold). Mike enters the ring to break up the submission, but Kristy leaps into the ring and almost spears him out of his boots! Moments later, Justin taps out!
WINNERS: Kristy Jackson & Omen IV, via Submission
Kill The Killer
The feed cuts to the parking lot and a shot of one of the Havok production trucks. An eighteen wheeler that sports a graphic featuring the stars of Havok. Featured most prominently is BWF World Champion Zoe Cooper. The camera pans up to show Van Biafra sitting cross legged atop the trailer. As always he looks very calm, almost serene.
Van Biafra: I do not consider myself much of a verbalist. The way that I prove my mettle is by walking into the war zone and tearing apart whatever is my path. I have shown that only two times now but I feel that the Havok front office and fans are starting to understand what I am about.
Van Biafra: I said that my mission was to restore some honor to this company, to give this organization a warrior to be proud of and to give the rest of the competition someone to fear.
Van Biafra: So far I have done that, my claims have been substantiated.
Van Biafra: But in that lies the problem. Yes I have been victorious, yes I have made a statement but in reality, I don't believe that I have projected a real goal aside from obtaining the World Championship.
Van Biafra: I am still a new entity in this organization, I still have much to prove before I get my shot. Tonight I will show Havok why I am going to take hold of that World Championship soon enough. I will show you why me becoming the standard of this brand is an inevitability.
Van Biafra: Tonight I take on a very dangerous man in Corey Killer. He is an infamous character around Havok and a lot of people that I am just going to be fodder for his continuous rampage. That simply isn't true.
Van Biafra: Tonight I kill the killer and I do it as I always do things--
Van Biafra: Everything--with honor.
With that the camera whip pans to darkness.
At Retribution, Blake Myles made his BWF debut as he promised of a coming storm; one of hellfire and brimstone. Logan, meanwhile, suffered his own hell at Retribution as he came close, but ultimately failed in his bid to unify the Chaos Theory and International Titles. Both men came into this match with something to prove, but only one could win. After several minutes of back and forth fighting, Myles hits Logan with the Red Horse (Spinning Heel Kick) and covers, but only gets 2.
Nick Webb: Ooh! Close one, I thought Myles had Havoc there!
Rayne: I don't think Logan can handle losing another huge match in a row. For his sake, he'd better focus - and quick!
He heads to the top rope and goes for the Pale Horse (Shooting Star Press), but Logan gets his knees up, leaving Myles to crash into them. As he reels from the move, Logan pulls himself up with the ropes and charges at Myles. Myles staggers to his feet and turns around... right into Logan's Disaster Stroke (Clothesline from Hell)! Logan covers angrily... 1... 2... 3!
WINNER: Logan Havoc, via Pinfall
Bloody Hell
The camera shifts backstage to the office of Havok GM Jacob Bishop. He is dutifully looking over papers, while occasionally glancing over to the monitor displaying the feed for Havok. The peaceful scene gets shattered moments later when Bishop's door flies open and none other than BWF C.E.O. Emily Corlen stamps into his office, looking irate.
Jacob Bishop: Oh, 'lo Miss Corlen! Checking out the festivities this evening? Might I suggest -
Emily Corlen: CAN IT, beanpole! Are you fucking kidding me with what happened at Retribution?
Jacob Bishop: Um... sorry, ma'am, but what happened at Retribution, exactly?
Emily Corlen: That little stunt that Scott and Hayashi pulled in the main event? That was BULLSHIT. As the C.E.O., I am DEMANDING that you overturn that match result RIGHT NOW and strip Zoe Cooper of the BWF World Championship!
The crowd boos as Jacob mulls over her request.
Jacob Bishop: I'm sorry, ma'am, but I can't do that.
Emily slams her fists onto his desk, knocking his coffee mug off and shattering it on the floor.
Emily Corlen: Can't... or won't?
Jacob Bishop: Won't, ma'am.
Emily stands up, nearly bristling with disgust.
Emily Corlen: Are you even the slightest bit aware of who you're talking to right now?
Jacob finally stands up, showing the most backbone he's displayed since signing with BWF.
Jacob Bishop: Frankly, ma'am, I think you had it coming. I saw what you did to poor Miss Hayashi and Mr. Scott in Las Vegas. There's a little thing called karma and at Retribution, karma bit you and your little friend Miss Taylor square in the backside.
Emily raises an eyebrow.
Emily Corlen: ...is that your final answer?
Jacob Bishop: Yes, ma'am, it is.
Emily Corlen: I see.
Emily and Jacob stand there for a moment, awkwardly. The awkwardness is broken (or perhaps enhanced) a few seconds later when Corlen grabs a hold of Bishop's entire desk and flips it on it's side!
Jacob Bishop: MA'AM!
Emily Corlen: DON'T MA'AM ME! GET THE HELL OUT!
Jacob Bishop: ...but...?
Emily Corlen: You HEARD me, you limey little fuck! I'm STILL your boss and as of this moment... YOU'RE FIRED! GET OUT OR I'LL THROW YOUR ASS OUT MYSELF!!!
The crowd gasps, followed by loud boos as Jacob quickly vacates the office, thinking of his long-term health over the chance to argue this decision. Emily glares at him even as he slams the door shut behind him, then makes her way over to Bishop's vacated seat and sits down.
Emily Corlen: One way or another... I always get what I want.
The scene fades out to commercial as Emily smirks, glancing at the television.
Van Biafra came up big at Retribution, holding off a two-man assault from the Ryder Brothers to win his first pay-per-view outing. Corey Killer wasn't on the Las Vegas supershow, but that's probably because he was too busy celebrating putting "Sick" Mick Horrorflick out of the BWF several weeks prior. Biafra promised to win this match "with honor" earlier tonight, and he focused on doing just that, while Killer seemingly was merely out to hurt Biafra.
Nick Webb: Not seeing much in the way of strategy from Corey Killer here. He's all over the map in terms of offense.
Rayne: That's probably by design. You can't counter a guy when even he doesn't know what he's going to do next!
Biafra's concentration was more apparent from the get-go, dominating the match against the masked horrorphile en route to hitting the Hollowpoint (Single Underhook Vertical Drop DDT) and picking up the 1, 2, 3.
WINNER: Van Biafra, via Pinfall

A Legacy to Uphold
The Scene fades in on Kim Cranston standing in front of the BWF Backdrop. She nods, acknowledging the camera and begins.
Kim Cranston: I'm joined by my guest at this time, Jay Blazenwing.
Jay walks into the scene, being his lovable dorky self, kissing his fingers and pointing at imaginary fans, winking and giving thumbs up.
Kim Cranston: You have been around for a couple weeks now and gotten yourself a lay of the land. Where do you feel like you fit in with this crowd and what are your goals here?
Jay nods, thinking over her questions.
Jay Blazenwing: Good questions Kim, Good Questions. I have a couple for you. Do you like Thai food and if so, pick you up tomorrow at 8?
Kim smiles sheepishly but doesn't respond.
Jay Blazenwing: Swing and a miss! Can't fault a fella for trying. Plans... well let's see. I was never one for really making concrete plans. Wanted to be a wrestler, so now I'm a wrestler. I don't really have a backup plan case this all goes south tomorrow. Kinda how I live life, here in the moment, like with you, right now. I don't think 10 minutes ahead and I sure as shootin don't like to wait. I'm more of a wear my heart on my sleeve/shoot from the hip kinda guy. You'll hear what's on my mind. Like right now... I choose to come to Havok for two reasons. Follow in my bros footsteps and two... there's one little lady holding ALL the gold. And I want a crack at here. Seems she hasn't lost a step in either a year or just about a year. Speaking of Blazen a trail of my own. I think knocking her off, for that, oh I dunno, Sovereign Title might be the way to go? So what about it Champ...? Wanna give lil'Blaze here a chance to make some history? It's kinda what we do... we're a pretty big deal round here, right KIM?
He holds up his hand for her to high five... and she leaves him hanging. So it's SELF HIGH 5 TIME!
Jay Blazenwing: Alright. WOO!
Blazenwing smiles a self-deprecating smile and walks off set.
Before the bell rings, the referee informs The Rejects that this Handicap Match will require tags, though neither Reject seems to care. The match begins with Austin and Spyke in the ring, but it doesn't take long for Allen to interject himself - repeatedly.
Nick Webb: This is getting out of hand! Come on, ref! Get him out of there!
The referee continues to threaten a disqualification, and after Allen refuses to leave the ring, he does just that, calling for the bell and awarding the match to Austin.
WINNER: Austin Scott, via Disqualification
After the match ends, the onslaught continues, as Allen and Spyke each hit their finishers on Austin, and then drag him out of the ring. They set him up on the announcer's table, then proceed to hit a powerbomb/neckbreaker combo on the former International Champion through the table, leaving him nearly incapacitated.
Rayne: HOLY SHIT!
Nick Webb: Oh my...! Hang on, here comes the BWF World Champion!
Austin's girlfriend, Zoe, hits the scene with Kristy Jackson and Omen IV backing her, but the damage is done. The Rejects exit through the loudly booing crowd, and Kristy and Omen stand guard while Zoe calls for EMTs. The emergency personnel arrive and start tending to Austin as Havok cuts to commercial.
Coming Soon on Pay-Per-View
~ Live from the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois ~
November 12, 2014 - Only on Pay-Per-View
The tag team main event begins with Gabe and Alli staring each other down. These two have quite a past, Nick Webb tells us, having been together at one point in their lives. There's no love loss here in Mexico, however, as they quickly tear into one another, both of them determined to prove that they deserve to be in the BWF World Title mix after their losses at Retribution. Alli eventually tags out to Liz, and Jay begs for Gabe to "give him a shot", so the former Crisis World Champion hesitantly tags the newcomer in. Jay immediately walks up to Liz and says "You dated Dave, right? Is there a family package I could be a part of, maybe a discount?" Liz, of course, slaps the younger Blazenwing - hard - and begins to lay into him hard.
Rayne: BACK OFF, LITTLE BOY! She's MINE!
Nick Webb: No, she really isn't. She really isn't.
Jay is quickly overwhelmed by the woman who held the BWF World Title just a few short months ago, and quickly tags Gabe back in. This pleases Liz, having pinned Gabe on the Havok after Wreckless, but Gabe hasn't forgotten as they begin a back and forth that lasts several minutes and contains a number of near falls. Liz eventually tags out to Alli, who gets caught by the Cannon Ball (Similar to the Codebreaker, but Gabe's knees are in his opponents chest) for a close 2. Gabe presses the advantage as Liz recovers on the apron, eventually hitting Alli with the Fallout (Zig Zag), but before he can get the 3, Liz breaks up the pin!
Nick Webb: Liz Davis saving this match for her team here!
Rayne: See, who says Liz isn't a team player? She just doesn't want to team with Zoe, that's all! HA!
She backs Gabe into the ropes and whips him across the ring, but on the way, Jay reaches over and tags himself in! Liz leaps up and catches Gabe between the eyes with the Clock Strikes Midnight (Trouble in Paradise), but she doesn't realize Jay's the legal man now and pays for it moments later as she turns right into The Legacy Effect (Snap Sweet Chin Music) from Blazenwing! Alli rises to her feet and he charges at her, hitting The Blazenwing (Running Discus Elbow), before heading to the top rope and leaping off with the Flight of the Phoenix (Top Rope Double Stomp)! The crowd eats it all up as the newbie covers Taylor... 1... 2... Liz dives to break up the pin, but Gabe grabs her foot, stopping her... 3, and this one is over!
WINNERS: Gabe Shelley & Jay Blazenwing, via Pinfall
When Queens Collide
"The Look" by Roxette starts playing over the BlazenTron and the Mexico City fans begin booing loudly as BWF C.E.O. Emily Corlen makes her way out onto the stage. She's all smiles after what happened earlier, as she makes her way to ringside and enters the ring. The music fades out as Emily is handed a mic.
Emily Corlen: Hello, Mexico City!
Loud boos.
Emily Corlen: Yeah, like I give a rat's ass about your opinion. At Retribution, I -
The C.E.O. is interrupted as "Happy" by Pharrell Williams hits and the BWF World and Sovereign Champion, Zoe Cooper, marches out to the stage. She makes a beeline for the ring as the crowd cheers loudly.
Nick Webb: Zoe is all business tonight on Havok. After Retribution and what happened to her boyfriend earlier tonight, I can't say I'm surprised.
Rayne: And why not? If she's not careful, she could end up out on her ass like Bishop! Emily's still the boss, like it or not!
Zoe rolls into the ring and snatches the mic out of Emily's hands. The crowd "oohs" as her music cuts out.
Zoe Cooper: Enough of this crap, Corlen. What the hell is your problem with me?
Emily is handed another mic by a ringside official.
Emily Corlen: Thank you, Bob. Zoe, dear, first of all? When you address me, it is MISS CORLEN. You're the Champion. Show some damn respect.
Zoe scowls at Emily as she continues.
Emily Corlen: Second, my "problem" with you is simple. I don't like you. I never liked you. I set you up to fail the night you debuted, yet against all odds, you won that match. And the next one. And the next one. And so on and so on and so on and frankly, I'm sick to death of Zoe FREAKING Cooper, just like I'm sure all of you fans are.
In response to this, a loud "ZOE" chant kicks up in the Arena Ciudad De Mexico.
Zoe Cooper: Do you hear that, CORLEN? The crowd is sure sick of somebody, but it's not me.
Loud cheers follow as Emily turns to the crowd and shakes her head.
Emily Corlen: Who gives a crap what Mexico thinks?
Loud jeers, followed by a chant in Spanish that cannot be republished here (and the censors aren't going to be fond of).
Zoe Cooper: You tried your best to screw me over at Retribution, and guess what? Your best wasn't good enough. I am STILL the Sovereign Champion of BWF, and I am STILL your World Champion as well.
Emily Corlen: Oh, honey... you haven't even begun to see my best yet.
With that, Emily rears back and slaps Zoe hard. In response, the World and Sovereign Champion charges the C.E.O., tackling her! The crowd cheers loudly as a catfight breaks out that ends with Zoe on top, laying into the C.E.O. with punches. She stands up and moves over to the corner, then points at Emily before slapping her knee!
Nick Webb: I think Zoe's calling for the Face Replacer on Emily Corlen!
Rayne: Don't do it, kid! It's career suicide!
Emily pulls herself to her feet in the corner and turns to find Zoe charging at her. Cooper goes for the flying knee, but Emily sidesteps it, leaving Zoe to collide with the corner! She stumbles out, hobbling on her knee, and Emily takes advantage, hitting her with the Down in Flames (Pedigree)! The crowd boos loudly as Corlen rolls out of the ring, grabbing another mic.
Emily Corlen: Oh, Zoe, you little bitch... you really should have let me finish. See, tonight's not over yet... at least, not for you. We still have another match... it's for your Sovereign Championship... and it starts RIGHT NOW. RING THE GODDAMN BELL!
DING DING DING!!!
Scott Benjamin looks uncomfortable, but knows he has a job to do, as he steps forward, sighing softly before raising the mic to his lips.
Scott Benjamin: Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest is scheduled for ONE fall... and it is for the BWF Sovereign Championship! Already in the ring, she hails from Billings, Montana... weighing in tonight at 140 pounds... she is the current and reigning BWF World and Sovereign Champion... she is ZOE COOPER!!!
The camera focuses in on Zoe Cooper lying face down in the ring. She still hasn't moved. Emily is grinning evilly. It's likely she had this planned all along.
Nick Webb: What in the hell is going on here?! Zoe can't defend her Sovereign Title... she's practically unconscious!
Rayne: I don't think this bodes well for Zoe's undefeated streak, Nick. Whoever is getting this opportunity has a golden opportunity... literally!
Scott Benjamin: And, introducing her challenger...
Scott pauses, because not even he knows who is facing Zoe in this impromptu match. After several moments, all lights go out. "Wolfpac (Instrumental Rock Cover)" by VMP begins with a wolf howl. Once the actual music starts, red lights brighten slowly until the entire arena is red and the words "FENRYR WULFSSON" pop up on the BlazenTron.
Nick Webb: Oh, dear God.
Rayne: WOW! This would have been an impossible match for Zoe to win at 100%! I think we're about to have a new Sovereign Champion! BRILLIANT MOVE BY OUR C.E.O.! HA HA HA!
Fenryr Wulfsson walks slowly towards the ring to the taunts and jeers of the crowd. Occasionally, he will single a group out and do a threatening display towards them before resuming his walk. Once he reaches ringside, he dives under the ropes and advances menacingly towards the fallen Zoe Cooper. His manager, Rune, stands by, stealing an amused smile at the C.E.O., whose eyes are transfixed on what's about to happen in the ring.
Nick Webb: Christ, is this woman's blood feud with Zoe Cooper so bad that she'll go to such depraved depths to strip her of everything she's spent over a year accomplishing in BWF?!
Rayne: Don't cross the boss, Nick!
Nick Webb: We still don't even know the REAL reason why Emily's targeting Zoe!
Rayne: She revealed why, like, a month ago on Crisis!
Nick Webb: That was a non-explanation and you know it.
Reluctantly, the referee calls for the bell and this "match" begins.
As soon as the bell rings, Fenryr turns Zoe over and goes for the cover.
1!
2!
.....NO!
Zoe kicks out right before three and the crowd goes wild! At ringside, Emily loses her shit, nearly kicking a hole in the announcer's table, which startles the commentary team.
Nick Webb: Oh, dear! Our C.E.O. clearly not happy that her Down In Flames wasn't enough to put Zoe Cooper away.
Rayne: I can't imagine she has much left in the tank, though.
Indeed, Fenryr pulls Zoe up to her feet and lifts her up before hitting her with his Double Underhook Powerbomb. He covers again, the crowd disturbingly silent at the massacre they're witnessing.
1!
2!
.....NO!!!
The crowd EXPLODES as, once again, Zoe gets her shoulder up just a split second before the three count!
Nick Webb: THAT, ladies and gentlemen, is the Unsinkable Zoe Cooper!
Rayne: I think Emily's about to have a stroke! Fenryr better finish this quick or she's going to finish HIM!
At ringside, Corlen is screaming at Fenryr, which neither he nor his manager Rune take kindly to. Still, the boss is the boss and Fenryr decides to let her live - for now - as he pulls Zoe to her feet once again. He rakes his thumb across his throat and puts Zoe in position for the Oathbreaker (Vertical Suplex Piledriver), but when he lifts her up for the vertical suplex portion of the move, Zoe floats over and rolls Fenryr up in a school boy!
1!
2!
...NO!
Fenryr kicks out right before three and the crowd boos loudly! He rolls to his feet and turns to face Zoe, but the Sovereign Champion charges at him and goes for the Face Replacer (Running Knee)! She leaps up to hit the move... but Fenryr catches her in mid-jump, utilizes his strength to hoist her into position and drops her right on her head with the Oathbreaker! The crowd deflates as Fenryr drags the limp body of Zoe Cooper into the center of the ring and covers.
1!
2!
3!
DING DING DING!!!
Scott Benjamin: Ladies and gentlemen, here is your winner... and the NEW BWF Sovereign Champion... FENRYR WULFSSON!!!
"Wolfpac (Instrumental Rock Cover)" by VMP starts playing over the BlazenTron as Fenryr Wulfsson stands up, his "unsinkable" foe conquered. Rune jumps into the ring, Sovereign Title in hand, and she straps the belt around his waist, her blow pop never leaving her mouth in defiance of her giant grin.
Nick Webb: This is... I'm in shock right now. Zoe Cooper's undefeated streak ends at 32 victories... but let's be honest here, this is a match that never should have happened. Cooper's historic reign as Sovereign Champion has ended at 401 days, and the fans here in Mexico couldn't be more disappointed.
Rayne: This is a new day, Nick! We have a new Sovereign Champion for the first time since last August! The unsinkable Zoe Cooper is now at the bottom of the ocean!
Nick Webb: This isn't the kind of history these fans were hoping to experience tonight. I just hope that... oh, hang on. What now?
Fenryr and Rune vacate the ring as Emily enters, mic in hand. She sits down next to Zoe, who still hasn't moved. She playfully slaps Zoe across the face, grinning widely.
Emily Corlen: I warned you, Cooper. I told you not to mess with me. Now, what do you have? Your record breaking run as Sovereign Champion is gone. Your precious undefeated streak is finished. What's left? Oh, that's right... your BWF World Title.
Emily glances over at the World Title, sitting on the timekeeper's table.
Emily Corlen: Well, Zoe, I have good news and bad news. The good news is, with Bishop sacked, the fate of your title now rests in my hands and my hands alone. The bad news is... well, it's all bad news for you, sweetie.
She pauses as the crowd boos.
Emily Corlen: I'm not going to tell you who your opponent at Gauntlet Run will be. In fact, no one will know - except me - until your match at Gauntlet Run takes place. So, rest well, sweet baby... because your days at the top of my company are numbered. And, hon?
She leans down, nearing Zoe's face.
Emily Corlen: That's a promise.
Emily leans in further and gently kisses Zoe on the forehead before standing up and smiling. "The Look" by Roxette hits the BlazenTron and the crowd starts a loud "YOU SUCK" chant as Emily basks in the spotlight.
Nick Webb: This whole situation has gotten out of hand. Emily Corlen is trying to ruin this girl's career, and for what? WHAT is Corlen's endgame?!
Rayne: To end the reign of Zoe Cooper once and for all, obviously! And I'm all for it! Go boss! Woo hoo!
Nick Webb: ...what a sellout. Folks, that's it for us here tonight. Tune in next week for an all-new episode of Crisis. Hopefully, Emily Corlen free.
We see one final shot of Emily Corlen before the show fades to the BWF logo, and then finally to black.
