Episode 178 - July 23, 2014
Nick Webb: Wednesday Night Havok is on the air! We are live tonight at the Budweiser Events Center in scenic Loveland, Colorado, and the mountains aren't the only things looming over us tonight!
Rayne: No, sir, because one week from tonight, Wreckless airs live on pay-per-view, and we have one hell of a lead-in! Our main event is going to be a major eight-man tag team match, with BWF World Champion Scorpio, #1 Contender Zoe Cooper, Johnny Maverick and AJ Adams on one side, and Alli Taylor, Elizabeth Davis, Casey Campbell and Toco on the other. Huge implications for both the BWF World and Crisis World Titles here tonight, on perhaps the last show these talent will all be featured together on!
Return to Sender
As Rayne and Webb wrap up their Havok sell job, C.E.O. Emily Corlen heads to the ring and demands that Alli Taylor return the BWF World Title belt that she stole from Scorpio at the end of last week's Havok. After making Emily and the fans wait, Alli finally does walk out onto the stage, mic in hand. She tells Emily that she will return the World Title to Emily (who will return it to Scorpio) on one condition; she wants to be added to the title match at the PPV between Zoe Cooper and Scorpio. Emily hesitates, but finally agrees, only because Alli defeated Scorpio last week. The crowd doesn't like the decision, and as Nick Webb points out, odds are Scorpio and Alli won't like it, either.
Logan Havoc carries the advantage in the match and seems to be on his way to yet another big win, but the match ends in a no contest when the lights go out, then pop back to life, revealing James Carson standing in the ring, along with both Havoc and Savage laid out in the ring. Carson exits the ring, talking to himself (or perhaps his alter ego?) as officials check on both men.
WINNER: No Contest
Mike Mox returns to BWF after being let go a few weeks prior with a huge opportunity in a Chaos Theory Title match against the longest-reigning Champion in the title's short lifespan, Akemi Hayashi. Both competitors are blindfolded and the match begins, leaving both competitors to flail around the ring, searching for the other. Akemi almost catches Mox once, but he shoves her into the referee on accident and she DDTs him, thinking he's Mox. Hearing the move land, Mox realizes what has happened and pulls his blindfold up to see Akemi covering the referee. He quickly kicks her in the head, then pulls her to her feet and drops her with the Twist of Hate (Twist of Fate). As the referee begins to stir, Mox replaces his blindfold and covers Akemi, leaving the groggy ref to count the pinfall and award the match and title to Mike Mox.
WINNER AND NEW BWF CHAOS THEORY CHAMPION: Mike Mox, via Pinfall
Despite the pedigree of Team Jackson, this particularly volatile mixture blows up as quickly as anticipated. Unable to put their grievances aside for the sake of the match, Jackson, Scott and McConnaigh become easy pickings for the unified force of Chris Maverick and The Ultimates; after Kristy decides to simply abandon her team, Austin goes after her, furious that she would turn her back on them during a big match (and, of course, not realizing the irony of the situation unfolding.) With Finn alone to deal with all three of his competitors, they cut him down to size, working together to hit him with the New California (Hardcore Mike piledrives the opponent off the top rope, then Stone hits a 450 Splash onto the opponent) and topping it off with a Diving Headbutt from Chris Maverick into a cover for the victory.
WINNERS: Chris Maverick & The Ultimates, via Pinfall
Following the end of the match, Chris rolls out of the ring and returns with Kristy's abandoned International Title, holding it in the air. As he does so, Hardcore Mike grabs it out of his hands and holds it up himself, at which point Stone does the same. As all three men argue over who gets to hold the belt, Kristy slides back into the ring and nails Stone in the back of the head with a high kick, then grabs her belt and runs off before the others can catch her. She walks up the ramp backwards, yelling that her title reign isn't even close to over.
Determined to get another shot at the Tag Team Titles (and pissed off that they didn't simply get an automatic rematch to begin with), The Rejects come into this match even angrier than they have been recently, if that were possible. The Love Hammers, also determined to get a shot at the Tag Titles, hold their own against The Rejects, but Allen and Spyke slowly and deliberately dismantle them, perhaps to send a message to the Justicars of Illium. In fact, their message is seemingly heard loud and clear, as the Justicars' music plays and Alison and Destiny step onto the stage. Allen and Spyke are momentarily distracted, and said distraction is all they need, as Jack Hammer and Caruso Love simultaneously dropkick The Rejects into the ropes; Spyke goes through the ropes, while Allen hits them and bounces back, right into a roll-up from Jack. Caruso leaps on top of him and the combined effort is enough to score the three and get the win!
WINNERS: The Love Hammers, via Pinfall
As the official announces the decision, Spyke and Allen lose their minds and start laying into the Love Hammers. The Justicars quickly join the fray and when the battle is said and done, The Rejects are the ones left standing at ringside. Emily Corlen appears on the BlazenTron and tells them that due to the interference from the Tag Team Champions, she would add both The Love Hammers and The Rejects to the Tag Team Title Match at Wreckless, and that said match would be a Triple Threat Elimination Tag Match. Allen and Spyke glance around at the ringside chaos they have just caused and smile, likely convinced that the titles would be theirs again soon enough.
Coming Soon on Pay-Per-View
~ Live from the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado ~
July 30, 2014 - Only on Pay-Per-View
This match broke down almost instantly, with all eight competitors entering the ring and refusing to wait until Wreckless to fight. One by one, they each hit their finishing maneuvers to the delight of the crowd - AJ hits Toco with the Legacy Maker (Sister Abigail), Casey hits AJ with the PWNED!!! (Point-Blank Spear), Zoe hits Casey with The Face Replacer (Running Bryan-Style Knee), Elizabeth hits Zoe with the Clock Strikes Midnight (Trouble in Paradise), Johnny hits Liz with the Welcome to D.C. (A Reverse GTS; Johnny drives his knee into the back of his opponent's head. [The D.C. stands for 'Damaged Cranium'.]) and Alli hits Johnny with the Breakdown (Sleeper Slam) - until only Scorpio and Alli Taylor remain. After measuring Alli up, Scorpio kicks her hard in the face, sending her into the ropes. As she bounds back, he hoists her into the air and drops her in the center of the ring with The Dreamwave (Tommy Dreamer's TommyHawk) for the pin and the 1, 2, 3 for his team.
WINNERS: Scorpio, Zoe Cooper, Johnny Maverick & AJ Adams, via Pinfall
Following the match, Scorpio holds his BWF World Title up in the air as he stands over Alli Taylor. A groggy Zoe Cooper joins him in the ring, clapping for him. She goes to raise his hand, but he responds (perhaps out of instinct?) with a Modified Dreamwave (Jumping Cutter), laying Zoe out to boos from the crowd. The boos are countered with a "Working Class" chant from Scorpio's fans as he smirks, leaving Havok to fade to the BWF logo, and then finally to black.
