Episode 177 - July 16, 2014
Nick Webb: Welcome one and all to an all-new episode of Wednesday Night Havok! We're live in the beautiful Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, and Rayne, the BWF fans are looking for answers here tonight.
Rayne: Indeed they are, Nick. A few days ago, a new poster for BWF Wreckless surfaced that featured not only the Havok logo, but the old Crisis logo as well, which has people asking... is BWF about to experience another brand split? Hopefully, we'll hear from the boss lady later tonight and find out just what this is all about.
Nick Webb: Plus, after the events that followed last week's main event, this week's main event will feature Happenstance 2014 runner-up Alli Taylor as she goes one on one in a non-title match against the BWF World Champion Scorpio. Will Alli make her mark against the Champ, or will Scorpio make Taylor regret ever sticking her nose between Scorpio and Zoe Cooper's upcoming title clash at Wreckless?
One of These Brand Splits Will Stick, Dammit
The BWF fans start cheering as "The Look" by Roxette hits the BlazenTron and BWF C.E.O. Emily Corlen walks out onto the stage with a smile on her face and a briefcase in hand. She makes her way down to the ring, not wasting any time, as she climbs inside and motions for a mic. Her music cuts out as she smiles to the Uncasville crowd.
Emily Corlen: BWF fans, I know what you're all waiting to hear and I'm not going to make you wait any longer to hear it. Yes, the brand split is happening again.
The crowd cheers loudly, though some give a mixed reaction after the way last brand split played out.
Emily Corlen: I know, I know, things didn't go so well last year, though that had nothing to do with our end, I assure you. We had two shows running, one on FX and one on HBO, and HBO decided to play games when that contract came up, which left us without a home for a second show, as we were only going bi-weekly on FX at the time. Since then, we've moved to the new FX offshoot FXX and secured a well-paid weekly timeslot that we're not going to lose anytime soon. We've even been given the freedom to move that timeslot around as we see fit, which is why you're here on a Wednesday night and not on a Monday.
She smirks as the crowd laughs.
Emily Corlen: But I digress. Here are the facts. On the first Havok after Wreckless, we will hold the 2014 BWF Draft. Two General Managers, one for Havok and one for Crisis, will draft a pool of talent between both shows. Those GMs will be revealed to the world at Wreckless, and I will promise you three things - I'm not one of them, and neither is my sister, Jen or my ex-brother in law, David Slayton.
The crowd buzzes with this announcement.
Emily Corlen: Following the August 6 Havok, BWF Crisis will air its first new program in nearly a year one week later on August 13, and from there, Havok and Crisis will trade off week by week on FXX. After six weeks of programs, a joint pay-per-view event will be held, as is the norm in BWF, and from there, the cycle will continue. Now, on to the matter of the World Championship...
Emily holds up the briefcase and opens it, pulling out the old Crisis World Championship to a nice sized pop.
Emily Corlen: This belt has only been held by one competitor in BWF history, Elena Simonova. She was awarded the title in September of last year and held it until she merged it with the BWF World Title at WrestleFest VII to become the Undisputed BWF World Champion. Well, nothing against my dear friend Li Li, but I'm officially un-merging the Championships as of this moment.
The crowd pops.
Emily Corlen: At Wreckless, five competitors - Casey Campbell, Toco, Elizabeth Davis, Johnny Maverick and AJ Adams - will be stepping into Hellbound. Before tonight, that match was set to determine the #1 Contender to the BWF World Championship. It will now, instead, be for the vacant Crisis World Title.
The crowd pops harder.
Emily Corlen: The BWF World Championship will remain named as such this time around, and it will be exclusive to the Havok brand, while the Crisis World Title will obviously be the main title of the Crisis brand. Whoever leaves Wreckless with those two titles will be the official #1 draft picks of their respective brands. For all other titles and superstars, all bets are off as we head into the draft. So, good luck to everyone competing for one of these two belts at Wreckless, and good luck to everyone else as we head into the 2014 draft. I'll be seeing you all later tonight, I'm sure.
Emily winks to the crowd, who cheer again, as "The Look" by Roxette strums up and starts playing. She exits the ring and slings the Crisis World Title over her shoulder, pausing to look down and say "Still looks damn good on me!" before walking up the ramp and through the curtain.
Nick Webb: The draft is happening! The brand split is happening! And this time, our C.E.O. insists that it's here to stay!
Rayne: How many splits is BWF on now? I'll believe it when I see it, that's all. Hey, think we can maybe talk the boss into letting us call both shows? I don't want my paycheck getting cut in half.
Nick Webb: We'll ask her after tonight's show. As for that, stay tuned, folks... amazing BWF action is coming your way right after this commercial break! Don't go anywhere!
Chaos Theory Title matches always have a stipulation attached to them, and this match proves that it can be any stipulation, as impressive BWF newcomer Ashby Lynn Daza faces Akemi Hayashi for the title... and the loser loses their job! Although Ashby kickstarted her BWF career with an awe-inspiring victory over BWF Hall of Famer Kirlia Gardevoir at Happenstance, she isn't able to parlay that into a championship victory in her second BWF appearance, as Akemi, who has dominated since winning the Chaos Theory Title, catches her at just over the three minute mark with the Gift of the Starflower (Devil Lock DDT) out of nowhere to score the pinfall victory, retaining her title and sending Ashby Lynn to the unemployment line after just her second BWF appearance.
WINNER AND STILL BWF CHAOS THEORY CHAMPION: Akemi Hayashi, via Pinfall
After the match, Akemi and Ashby Lynn hug in the ring as Ashby wipes away a tear. The BWF Tag Team Champions, the Justicars of Illium (Alison James and Destiny Figgins) make an appearance as well. The four women say goodbye as the crowd cheers... until The Rejects decide to crash the party. They blindside both Alison and Destiny, lay out Akemi and Ashby, then handcuff both Alison and Destiny to the ropes as they drag Ashby and Akemi out of the ring. They hoist both women up together and double powerbomb them both through the announce table, making the Justicars watch as the crowd boos loudly. Allen and Spyke turn to the Tag Team Champions and yell "You're next!" before leaving through the crowd.
Last week on Havok, Logan Havoc debuted in style with a decisive victory over Finn McConnaigh. Tonight, they gain partners, as Chris Maverick joins Logan, while Austin Scott joins Finn. The match plays out with Logan and Chris in control, leaving Austin in peril as they continually tag out. Eventually, Austin takes them both out and tags out Finn, leaving the Emerald Giant to clean house. Logan and Chris soon regain control, however, by double teaming him against the referee's wishes.
As the ref struggles to get the illegal man, Chris, out of the ring, International Champion Kristy Jackson comes out of the crowd and pulls Austin off the apron before clocking him with the title! The crowd boos, but the referee doesn't see it. She exits ringside as Finn regains momentum, but without a partner to tag out to, that momentum is short lived. Logan whittles down the bigger man, and with Chris' help, he jumps off a kneeling Chris' back (ala whisper in the wind) and hits Finn with his Disaster Stroke (Clothesline from Hell) to pin the big man for the second week in a row.
WINNERS: Chris Maverick & Logan Havoc, via Pinfall
After the match, Logan and Chris continue beating Finn down. Austin comes to and, no longer caring about the match, heads up the ramp to no doubt find Kristy. Finn sees his partner seemingly abandoning him and yells out for help, but Austin doesn't hear him, leaving Logan and Chris to continue their attack before officials finally separate them and force the winning team out of the ring.
Johnny and Casey teamed up together a week ago along with AJ Adams, but their team fell to Chris Maverick and The Ultimates after Casey refused to support his team. He even hit both of his partners with the PWNED!!! (Point-Blank Spear) following the match just to make one point clear; HE was winning Hellbound at Wreckless. Now that Hellbound is for the vacant Crisis World Title, there's more on the line than ever for all involved, and Casey knew it, heading into this match with the intention of proving his superiority over Johnny Maverick. Johnny, however, is a man who does not like to be wronged, and when he is, there is hell to pay.
The match that followed as a result was a war, with both men simply trying to punish the other ahead of their major clash at Wreckless. Casey hit a PWNED!!! and thought he had the match won, but Johnny kicked out at 2 and 3/4ths and he couldn't believe it! He primed Johnny for a second PWNED!!!, but as Johnny recovered, he moved out of the way. Casey caught himself before running into the corner this time, but it didn't matter, as Johnny caught him with the Crucial Velocity (Johnny nails his opponent with a Devastating Spinning Backfist; as they fall to the ground, he quickly lunges forward and nails them in the face with a Superman Punch. It's fast, devastating, and an instant KO.) before he could even react. Johnny covers and a three count later, he is the winner.
WINNER: Johnny Maverick, via Pinfall
After the match, Johnny stands over Casey and smirks, motioning for his first World Title in BWF, hopefully to come at Wreckless. He holds a finger up and says "one down", then holds three up on the other hand and says "three to go".
Following their big wins over three former World Champions last week on Havok, Emily Corlen decided to give both members of The Ultimates, Hardcore Mike and Stone, an International Title shot against Kristy Jackson. At the same time. In a Triple Threat Match. For the majority of the match, Stone and Hardcore Mike work together, wearing down the International Champion as a team. They even hit their tag team finisher on Kristy, New California (Hardcore Mike piledrives the opponent off the top rope, then Stone hits a 450 Splash onto the opponent).
Then, Stone went for the cover.
Mike pulled him off and went for the cover himself. Stone pulled Mike off and the two went head to head. They started arguing over who should get the pin, and before long, they were brawling over it. Kristy slowly recovered as Stone and Mike went at it, knocking each other silly. Their scuffle ends with Hardcore Mike hitting Stone with his Ultimate Driver (Piledriver), but before he can go for the pin, a recovered Kristy Jackson nails Hardcore Mike with the Final Assault (Superman Punch, with theatrics), knocking him clear out of the ring! With all of her willpower, she hurries to the top rope, lines up and lands on Stone with a huge Suicide Attack (Swanton Bomb), covering him for the 1, 2, 3 to successfully retain her title once again!
WINNER AND STILL BWF INTERNATIONAL CHAMPION: Kristy Jackson, via Pinfall
As Kristy celebrates her win following the end of the match, Austin Scott appears, running down to the ring and sliding in. This time, he doesn't waste words, as he charges Kristy and takes her down with a big tackle before laying into her with punches! Moments later, Finn McConnaigh, still bandaged up from earlier in the night, shows up, attacking Austin for abandoning him after their match! The Ultimates soon join the fray, with punches flying everywhere. Chris Maverick appears as well, helping his buddies Stone and Mike even the odds.
Finally, Emily Corlen appears and yells for the fighting to stop. Officials pull everyone apart as Emily makes the announcement that if the six of them want to fight, they'll have the chance to do so at Wreckless, as Kristy Jackson defends her International Title in a 'first fall wins' Six Pack Challenge Match against Austin, Finn, Stone, Mike and Chris! The officials continue holding everybody back as Havok fades to commercial.

This match came about as a result of the end of last week's Havok. Zoe Cooper had just beaten Elizabeth Davis and Scorpio, Cooper's opponent at Wreckless, was on commentary. As they shared a staredown following the match, Alli Taylor jumped Zoe from behind, likely intending to put her out of action again. The BWF World Champion, surprisingly, came to the rescue of his #1 Contender, driving an irate Alli away.
As this match got underway, it was clear that Alli was still just as irate as she was last week, as she laid into the BWF World Champion with a flurry of attacks, leaving him stunned. Scorpio soon regains the momentum and slowly begins whittling Alli down bit by bit. He holds this momentum until a mistimed Irish whip sends Alli colliding into the referee! As she stands dazed from the collision, Scorpio hits her with the Dreamwave (Tommy Dreamer's TommyHawk), but of course, there's no referee to count. He tries in vain to wake the official, his back turned to his opponent, who is slowly regaining her composure. As the referee begins to rouse himself, Scorpio turns back to Alli and goes to lift her, but the devious Taylor is waiting, catching him right on the button with the hardest low blow she can muster. As the Champion staggers in pain, Alli pulls herself to her feet and lines him up before hitting her Jersey Cutter (Twist of Fate). She covers Scorpio, the recovered referee drops to count, and to the shock of the crowd, she gets the three! Alli Taylor has pinned the BWF World Champion!
WINNER: Alli Taylor, via Pinfall
As Alli's music plays, she exits the ring, still a little shaken, and grabs Scorpio's BWF World Championship. As Nick Webb and Rayne both try to get her attention to remind her that this was a non-title match, she straps the title around her waist and heads back up the ramp in possession of Scorpio's belt. She poses on the stage, almost as if she has just won the title, before heading through the curtain. Scorpio comes to in the ring and glares toward the stage, almost growling as Wednesday Night Havok fades to black.
