Episode 171 - May 26, 2014
Nick Webb: We are live from the Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia! Welcome to Monday Night Havok, ladies and gentlemen!
Rayne: Oh, you better believe we've got a HOT one in HOTlanta tonight! We've got the final two Happenstance Tournament Qualifying Matches! We've got a rare Barbed Wire Ropes Match for the Chaos Theory Title! We have a Triple Threat Match for the International Title! And so, so much more!
Mission Hills Missionary
"Dreamwave" by Vogel kicks in, the crowd erupts into a mix of boos and cheers as that familiar Trans-Am comes roaring into the arena, top down and familiar face driving, Scorpio leaps out of the car, ready to rumble in his white ring gear, and white leather jacket. Though while he is usually all smiles, Scorpio looks deadly determined tonight. He makes his way down to the ring, ignoring the fans who can't make up their mind about him, and rolls under the bottom rope and into the ring.
Scott Benjamin: Ladies and Gentlemen... Please welcome.. SCORPIO!
Scorpio goes up to the nearest turnbuckle and looks out to the crowd, he lets his jacket fall off and hit the ring before he jumps down and goes right to Scott Benjamin, he stares him down some before he snatches the microphone out of his hand.
Scorpio: Thank you Scott for MESSING UP your job ONCE AGAIN!
Scott slinks out of the ring as Scorpio basically mean mugs him the entire time.
Scorpio: What Scott Benjamin forgot to inform you all of is that I am not only... THE SCORPIO... but I am also THE next International Champion.
The crowd gets louder in its boos toward the man from Mission Hills.
Scorpio: Ohh Boooo.. Boooo me all you like you pathetic pieces of garbage, Booo me and cheer for your heroes... Matt Stone, who cheats his way to the top, is given title shots without even earning them, and when the going gets tough, Matt Stone winds up in a hospital bed for two weeks... Boo me.
Scorpio looks like he is snarling almost.
Scorpio: And cheer.. CHEER for your hero Toco, the one who defeated that mean vile old timer Wilkie, cheer for the one who, even after I've destroyed him in the ring, decides that he would rather continue to put his giant forehead in where it doesn't belong, who just seems to want to be embarrassed time and time again on national television.
The boos get almost overwhelming, the cheers can no longer even register to the ears of a dog. Scorpio however lets it wash over him, he puts his arms out, waggling his fingers, taking everything that is given to him.
Scorpio: Boo me... Boo me because I am the only one in this fed who has earned his shots, Boo me because I do what I need to in order to succeed, and I don't take the easy way out.
Scorpio looks out to the crowd.
Scorpio: Boo me, because I am the only one who gives as good as he gets in this federation. I haven't forgotten my goals, I still plan to hold every title, separately or all at once, it doesn't matter, I know what I need to do, and there is nothing scarier than a determined hungry man... Boo me because you all know deep down that I am the one who should be representing this company, and it all makes you sick. Boo me because you'd rather have some tattooed black power wanna-be like AJ Adams as your face, or some power-hungry bitch like Elizabeth Davis who turns her colors the second she tastes gold, or take that seven foot stack of red-headed shit Finn McConnaigh who has been as entertaining as watching paint dry. Boo me because whether I'm jerkin the curtain... or closing the show... you always come to see...
The cameras zoomed in on Scorpio, as he looked right into it, into the souls of the millions and millions watching around the world.
Scorpio: Me.
"Dreamwave" hits again and Scorpio exits the ring, motioning for gold and basking in the continued jeers of the audience.
Nick Webb: Scorpio is damn sure fired up for tonight's main event, Rayne. Do you think he can do it? Is Scorpio the once and future International Champion?
Rayne: I think this man can do anything he puts his mind to, Nick. If he says he's going to become the next International Champion... I'd like to meet the man who thinks he can stop him.
The bell rings and, for the first few minutes, Allen and Kristy stay fairly even matched, with neither one able to put the other away early. Kristy goes for a headbutt, but misses, and Allen dropkicks Kristy. He picks her up and gives her a neckbreaker and gets on the top rope and goes for a top-rope splash, but Kristy moves out the way and Allen hits the mat hard. Kristy waits and goes for an early Superman Punch, but misses. Allen slaps Kristy and she slaps him back, then he turns around and backs away, motioning for Kristy to bring it on.
Nick Webb: Allen's toying with Kristy here a bit. Things have been pretty even so far, but in Allen's head, this match is likely his to win at any point he chooses.
Kristy, angrily, spears Allen. She picks him up and slaps him and Allen falls down. She keeps on slapping him and the ref tries to back Kristy away, then he manages to get Kristy to stop attacking Allen. Kristy picks up Allen and Irish whips him and he ducks a clothesline and Allen gives Kristy the Cactus Clothesline and Allen crawls to Kristy for the pin.
Rayne: Allen is going for the cover, can this be it?
1..2..3- WAIT NO! A KICKOUT!
Allen picks up Kristy and gives her the Bionic Elbow, but she blocks it and tries to suplex Allen instead. She struggles to get him up, and Allen capitalizes with the elbow, hitting it this time. Kristy staggers and Allen catches her with The Set-Up (Double Arm DDT). The crowd pops for the Tag Team Champion, but instead of delivering The Punchline, Allen has another idea, as he points to the corner.
Nick Webb: Oh, this could be very bad for Kristy if Allen hits this!
Allen scales the corner, climbing to the very top rope. He glances once behind him to make sure Kristy is still out, and when he verifies that she is, he leaps backwards, going for the WTFFFF! [Watch that Funny Fat Fuck Fly!] (Moonsault)! He lands the move perfectly and hooks Kristy as he lands on top of her. 1, 2, 3, and the former AoWF World Champion moves on to round two of the Happenstance Tournament.
WINNER: Allen Chaney, via Pinfall
"Shimmy Shimmy Ya" by Ol Dirty Bastard starts playing as Allen rolls to his feet and raises his arm triumphantly in the air. He poses for the camera as the crowd cheers, then he turns around and looks down at Kristy.
Rayne: Hang on, here...
For a moment, nobody is sure what Allen is thinking, but without hesitation, he helps up Kristy to her feet. The crowd cheers loudly as he offers a handshake. Kristy pauses for a few moments, but finally shakes his hand somewhat dejectedly and rolls out of the ring, heading up the ramp as Allen continues to celebrate his win.
Nick Webb: You gotta feel for Kristy, we know she wanted this win, but only one person could move on to the Quarterfinals of Happenstance, and at least this year, that person was Allen Chaney. Hell of an effort from Jackson, though. What a match!
No One Montages Like a Stone
*** The following video has been pre-recorded. ***
We come in to a rather underdeveloped gym in Detroit, Michigan, underneath the King of Clubs, a night club recently opened by partial owner, Matt Stone. The aforementioned Stone is sitting on the edge of the ring in the center, breathing heavily between large sips from a water bottle. To his right stands Alison James, who seems to be in fine shape, clearly not as winded as her client, for lack of a better word.
Matt Stone: Alright… I think that’s enough for today…
The wall clock on the wall, how creative, right? It reads quarter past noon, far earlier than when they would normally call it a day. Alison, instead, tuts loudly at the (for now) unassuming Canadian.
Alison James: No. And, for suggesting such a course of action, you'll have another ten laps added on to the thirty I was just about to tell you to do.
Alison looks into Matt's eyes, the slightest hint of a smile being masked as best she can.
Alison James: Unless, of course, you'd prefer to speak up and lengthen your stay? I have all day, I assure you.
Stone rolls his eyes, but knows it’s for the best that he be in tip top shape, especially with the addition of Toco to his match.
Matt Stone: You truly are a taskmaster, you, you know that, right?
Alison James: Indeed I am. You knew what you were getting into when you commissioned my assistance. If you wanted a free ride to Monday's show, a copious supply of marijuana brownies and enough NintendoBox 4 to cause blindness in an eagle, you would have asked my sister Katherine for her help instead.
Alison walks over to an iPod sitting in the corner and powers on the attached external speaker before searching through the songlist.
Alison James: Enough stalling, Matthew. Champions do not slack off. It's back to work for you.
Alison presses play on the iPod and Joe Esposito’s “You’re the Best Around” begins playing in the background.
Matt Stone: Yes, Miss Masters.
Stone gets up off the apron and starts running around the gym, the camera following him as he starts his journey. With the music playing loudly through the frames, we fade to Stone bench pressing with Ali looking over him, acting as both a spot and an ambitious encourager, several elevations of the bar supporting hundreds of pounds and we fade to Stone on the ground, doing push-ups while Alison sits atop him, shouting inaudible words. Matt does seven of these before we cut to him kipping up inside the ring, only to have Alison push him back down. This repeats five times before we cut to Stone posing in front of a mirror until Alison walks in the frame and Stone lowers his head, proceeding to return to his running of laps. Fade back to Matt and Alison sitting in the center of the ring as the music fades out, Stone seems really out of breath at this point, downing an entire bottle of water in what might very well be a record amount of time.
Matt Stone: Well… that was… exercising…
Alison James: I should say so. It was a very good start. But, if you intend to retain your International Championship, that's all it is. A start. Now, take a five minute break, and we'll continue.
Matt Stone: Five minutes? Are you crazy? That’s a lot of work to be recovered from in only five minutes. Toco couldn’t even do a single lap around this place and Scorpio can’t spell five minutes! I’m already leaps and bounds ahead of them!
Alison James: Never underestimate your opponents. When Scorpio hits Toco with the Dreamwave, or Toco catches Scorpio with the To-Cutter, you'll be quite happy to have that extra amount of stamina in order to be coherent enough to break up what might otherwise be the deciding pin. I don't need to remind you that, as a Triple Threat Match, you do not need to be pinned or made to submit in order to lose your Championship.
Matt Stone: Oh yes, the traditional reminder than every commentator makes at the start of one of these matches, I’m sure Nick will be chomping at the bit to get that gem out. But... I suppose you’re right... what do you say we call it ten minutes, compromise?
Alison considers Matt's request for a moment.
Alison James: I suppose I can allow that, but you'll have to bring me a bottled water. Just don't think that I'm going soft on you. This is still very serious, and we have a lot of work to do before you're ready to compete at my standards. Are we clear?
Matt Stone: Yes, Miss Masters.
Matt lays back down against the mat, breathing heavily for a few seconds before kipping up off the mat, heading off to get Alison her water. She watches him go, tilting her head ever so slightly. If it wasn't common knowledge that Alison is a lesbian, one might almost think she was checking out Matt's ass.
Alison James: You already used that line. But, I'll allow it. Not everyone is as intelligent as I am.
She can't help but grin even as she turns her attention to the training area and starts to clean up in preparation for the next round of training. The camera turns and starts following Matt heading to the bar fridge in the corner, reaching down and grabbing a bottle of water. He turns to address the camera.
Matt Stone: So Emily thinks that by making this a triple threat match that I’m just going to fall to the odds and lose my International Championship. Well I’ve got this bad habit of disappointing Emily and Havok will be no exception. I’m walking in the champion, and I’m leaving the champion. Scorpio talks about some vendetta he has against me, apparently I ruined his life by winning a handicap match and he’s pissed about it. Well the he and Emily can drink their sorrows away together at the end of the night, as I have apparently ruined hers as well. Well if Toco is putting all his eggs in this International championship match, then I guess I’ll make it a 3/3 on ruining lives, and I’m fine with that. I’m not here to make friends, I’m not here to help settle some score Toco and Scorpio may have, and I’m certainly not here to make Emily happy. I’m Matt Stone, damn it, and I do what I want, I take what I want, and there isn’t a damn thing anyone in this company can do about it. Emily thinks she got one over on me by not having me in the Happenstance Tournament? I’m still the reigning King of the Happenstance, and if I need to come out with that crown on my head, I will for no other reason than to rub it in her face. Victory will be mine, and not one of you are qualified to SHUT ME UP!
Stone smirks to the camera and heads back out to deliver the bottle of water as we fade out.
Casey wastes no time in this match, going quickly to Omen for a clothesline, but Omen is able to duck under him and hit the far ropes, coming back clotheslining Casey, knocking him back a few steps. Omen hits the ropes again and connects with another clothesline, staggering the PWNasaurus. One more time, Omen hits the ropes and charges at Casey, but the wily veteran lunges forward and almost takes Omen’s head off with a clothesline of his own! The force of the blow sends Omen backwards, flipping over on his stomach. Campbell cracks his neck before lifting Omen up and tossing him into the near corner, ramming his shoulder deep in the abdomen of the Mexico Native. Casey grabs Omen’s right arm and whips him across the ring towards the opposite turnbuckle, following in for a splash, but Omen runs up the turnbuckle and does a backflip over Casey, landing on his feet and leaving Casey to crash into the corner. Campbell turns around and eats a stiff kick, knocking him back into the corner, allowing for Omen to springboard off the near ropes and dropkick Casey under the chin. Casey slumps down in the corner, Omen running to the far ropes, coming back and diving into Casey with both knees extended, right in Casey’s chest. Rolling backwards, Omen immediately lunges forward with his feet extended for a low dropkick, hitting Casey’s chin. Omen grabs the larger man’s leg and drags him out away from the ropes, going for a cover, but at the count of two Casey kicks out with such vigor that Omen is propelled three feet into the ropes.
Nick Webb: Omen is really coming out of the gate fast this week, Rayne.
Rayne: Well he hasn’t had the best of luck as of late Nick, but Casey’s not someone you face when you want to change your luck.
Omen is to his feet, measuring up Casey as he starts to rise, hitting the rope and leaping in the air, grabbing Casey’s head and spiking it straight down for a DDT, going for a quick cover, but getting only a two once again. Omen hits the ropes again and leaps in the air for an elbow drop, but Casey is able to roll out of the way, leaving Omen to crash on the mat. Casey starts getting up, as does Omen when CRASH!! Casey lunges forward with the PWNed on Omen, flipping him over on his stomach. Rather than go for a cover, Casey hooks his arm and head and locks him in the Campbell Clutch (Crouching Cobra Clutch). Casey pulls him back as far as he can while sitting in his lower back, Omen screaming out in pain, having no option but to tap out.
WINNER: Casey Campbell, via Submission
Nick Webb: Just like that, Casey is victorious here against Omen.
Rayne: I told you Casey wasn’t one to change your luck against, in a matter of seconds he can take you out.
After releasing the hold, Casey has his arm raised, but he’s not done, stomping on Omen’s back. he sends a few more kicks on the prone luchador, screaming out threats to Zoe Cooper. Officials swarm the ring and break up the attack, forcing Casey to leave as he points to his head and yells "The crown is mine, bitches! Wait 'til I make THAT sumbitch spin!"
Where is MY Main Event?
With a knock on her door, Emily peeks up from her desk to see Katrina Evans walking inside, loudly clearing her throat. Corlen raises an eyebrow, wondering what this is all about.
Katrina Evans: Introducing… the First Lady of the BWF… Elizabeth Davis!
Liz walks in behind Katrina after the introduction, seemingly upset about something, walking right up to Corlen’s desk and putting her hands down. Emily, meanwhile, simply raises an eyebrow.
Emily Corlen: Really? We're doing ring introductions into backstage areas now? I'm not paying to install MP3 players in the door frames, so if you want entrance music to accompany you, you're gonna have to invest in a boombox or something.
Emily sighs a little, rolling her eyes.
Emily Corlen: So, tell me, to what do I owe this lovely, entirely unexpected visit to my office, might I ask?
Elizabeth doesn’t seem to be in the mood for joking.
Elizabeth Davis: I know you have a personal issue with Stone, that’s all well and good, but in case you’ve forgotten, I am the BWF World Champion, I shouldn’t be squeezed into some last minute ‘get everyone on the show’ match where I won’t be featured. I should be the headliner week in and week out, and whether you see it or not, all this attention you’re paying to our favorite asshole is just giving him what he wants.
Emily shrugs, carefully considering her response to the World Champion.
Emily Corlen: I don't know, what do you want me to tell you? AJ Adams didn't main event every show when he was the Champion. Kyle Cross may have, but only because he had the title for, like, a bathroom break.
She chuckles before continuing.
Emily Corlen: Elena didn't hog the spotlight, Casey tried and fell on his face... my point is, yes, you're the BWF World Champion. But, you're not the only individual in this company who matters. Consider this; when other competitors compete in the main event, it raises their profile. When they inevitably face you and fall to the First Lady of the BWF, you're lauded as a Champion who takes on the very best and succeeds.
Emily leans in closer.
Emily Corlen: Now, consider the alternative. Elizabeth Davis main events all of the shows, until the fateful day when she somehow manages to lose the Championship to some guy or girl who has been stuck competing in the opening match of Havok every single week. The fans immediately realize that Liz Davis is nothing more...
Emily stands up, staring directly into Liz's eyes.
Emily Corlen: ...than a little girl who happened to be in the right place at the right time. A little girl who finally got what was coming to her. Now, tell me, Liz...
Emily sits back down and leans back in her comfy office chair, smirking.
Emily Corlen: ...does that sound like a favorable scenario to you?
Elizabeth takes her hands off Emily’s desk, a slight chuckle escaping her lips.
Elizabeth Davis: It’s those fears that stopped the AJ Adams and the Elenas from being truly memorable. Hell, you didn’t even remember that Outlaw was World Champion for over a hundred days, and that’s because he wasn’t memorable. What did he do with the title? All I remember is him losing to me. Adams has been that right place at the right time guy for over a year here, meanwhile my career thus far has been everything but. This is the second year in a row that I haven’t been in this tournament, last year I was below it, this year, it’s beneath me. Now if you’re having difficulties finding me suitable opponents, that’s one thing, but don’t get it in your head that I need to be be protected. This company, whether you wish to admit it to yourself or not, is on my back and I have no plans to let it fall. So you can keep all your what ifs to yourself, all I want is the position that I’ve earned, and I’m sorry if you’re not used to dealing with a champion with confidence, but I would suggest you come around, and quick.
Katrina Evans: Yeah!
Liz rolls her eyes at the ‘helpful encouragement’ of her assistant, turning to continue speaking before she’s cut off by Emily.
Emily Corlen: Protected?
The C.E.O. shakes her head.
Emily Corlen: Sweetie, you don't get it. Look, when I was World Champion, in BWF, TGW, PWA, I wasn't always at the top of the card, either. You are most certainly a featured attraction, don't worry about that. If you weren't, I would have already found a way to end your reign as World Champion. Believe it.
Emily pauses a moment to allow that last comment to sink in before continuing.
Emily Corlen: What you need to understand, the same lesson I needed to learn when I was World Champion, is that simply because you win the "big one" in a company, that doesn't automatically mean the entire wrestling world revolves around you and everybody in the BWF takes a backseat to Liz Davis. There are dozens of competitors in BWF, many of whom will never see the light of day as a World Champion in this illustrious company.
Emily stands up again, but this time, she walks around her desk and comes face to face with Liz. She straightens Liz's collar, then places a gentle, reassuring hand on the World Champion's shoulder.
Emily Corlen: I know you're eager to go out there, fight in the main event every single night and show the world that you deserve that Championship. I know you're worried that people still see you as Matt Stone's assistant, or the PWA President, or the C.E.O. of RXW. I know because I've been in that exact same position. Believe it or not, Liz, I've been you. That may sound ridiculous to you, but it's the truth. This has nothing to do with protecting you, or me being worried that you don't deserve to be in the position you're in.
Emily sighs.
Emily Corlen: At the end of the day, this is a wrestling company. I have countless paychecks to write, staff to manage, shows to produce, so on and so on. Just like I've been you, lest we forget, you've also been me. You know it's not possible for one individual to always be in the main event of every single show. That show would get old very quick. If I wanted to watch one person dominate every program, I'd Adjust my Attitude and tune in to other companies' wrestling shows. You're still the First Lady of the BWF. You're still the World Champion.
A pause.
Emily Corlen: You're still my World Champion. Just because you aren't in the final match on every show, that isn't going to change, okay? Your spot is safe, as long as you continue to go out there and beat some ass, regardless of if you're in the last match of the night or the first. To steal a line from our own blonde little Goldberg... that's a promise.
Emily smiles at Liz, finally lifting her hand from Liz's shoulder.
Emily Corlen: So, are we cool? Can I count on you to go out there tonight and give 'em what for in that big eight man tag team match? Show them why you're the World Champion of the BWF? Hmm?
Elizabeth Davis: Oh we’re just peaches Emily. I’ll go out there and do the best I can with those seven scrubs you saw fit to put in the ring at the same time as myself, and I’ll be more than happy to take out that little blonde Goldberg, as you put it, someday, without the assistance of a cattle prod no less, but I would appreciate, in the future, a little more consideration. You’re right in that people still see me as simply a side attraction to the grand circus that is Matt Stone, but sooner rather than later they’ll all forget about that. You want me to be your Champion, you need to be my C.E.O. If you want to feature these people in a more prominent position, fine, but you make sure they all know that they’re simply a temporary fixture while I…
Elizabeth takes a step back to allow Emily’s arm to drop off her shoulder.
Elizabeth Davis: ...I am the constant.
She gives Emily a nod before flipping her hair back and turning on her heels, heading for the door, briefly looking back at the C.E.O.
Elizabeth Davis: Oh, and enjoy your main event Emily, don't be surprised if it doesn't go your way. Matt has a way of shutting you up.
Davis gives a faint laugh on her way out of the office, Katrina following quickly. Emily watches them leave and lets the door close behind Liz and Katrina before a devious smile stretches across her face.
Emily Corlen: Oh, Lizzie. Ye of little faith. By the time the final bell rings at Happenstance, nobody will ever consider you second fiddle to the Abominable Jackass ever again. His days are numbered. Don't... you... worry... about... that.
Emily's eyes flash with scheming thoughts as the scene fades to commercial.
During the commercial, the ring ropes were swapped out with long thick strands of barbed wire, as the match type suggests. Both men enter the ring carefully and size one another up as the bell rings. After a brief struggle for control, Axel goes for a clothesline, but Mick dodges, sending Axel very close to touching the ropes. He stops himself and turns around, only to get shoved forcefully into the ropes by Mick. Axel screams as he loosens himself from the ropes, the barbs cutting into his back and leaving bloody streaks down it.
Nick Webb: And we have first blood! That was fast!
Mick grabs Axel and, not wasting any time, powerslams him onto the ropes hard, nearly snapping them off. Axel howls in pain as his arms become trapped between the top and middle rope, leaving Mick free to start laying boots into the Chaos Theory Champion. After a few stiff kicks, Mick runs across the ring and comes back, going for a splash into the ropes, but Axel frees himself a second before and rolls out of the way, leaving Mick to collide with the ropes with authority! This time, he screams out from behind the mask, and although he backs away, the damage is done; several points on Mick's legs are starting to bleed.
Rayne: This one is not for the weak of heart... but I love it! HA!
Mick staggers to his feet and Axel low blows him, then follows up with a bulldog. He goes for the cover, but only gets two. Axel tries to whip Mick into the ropes, but Mick reverses, catching him with a headbutt. With Axel dazed momentarily, Mick grabs him and drags his face along the length of one side of the top rope, leaving a red streak not just on Axel's face, but the rope as well. Following that, Mick hits a DDT and covers, but the Champion kicks out at two. The fight continues, back and forth, both men tearing each other apart (literally), until the final moments of the match see Mick piledrive Axel not once, not twice, but three times. To put the exclamation point on the match, though Axel is far gone at this point, Mick lifts his foe up and drops him with The Witching Hour (Combination Chokeslam/Driver) into the barbed wire ropes, finally snapping the top two. He drags Axel a few feet into the center of the ring, covers, and gets the 1, 2, 3.
WINNER AND NEW CHAOS THEORY CHAMPION: Mick Horrorflick, via Pinfall
"Bleed The Freak" by Alice in Chains hits as Mick slowly stands up, basking in his victory. The official gingerly steps over what's left of the barbed wire ring ropes and grabs the Chaos Theory Title, and then hands it over to Mick. Mick yanks the belt out of the official's hand and casually tosses it onto his shoulder before exiting the ring. He walks up the ramp, never once acknowledging the crowd in attendance, and heads through the curtain as more officials come down to check on the now former Chaos Theory Champion, Axel.
Rayne: We have a new Champion! Mick Horrorflick is the new Chaos Theory Champion! That match was AWESOME!
Nick Webb: I feel like we've just watched a grindhouse movie. With Mick as the new Chaos Theory titleholder, I have a feeling that this is only week one of some of the bloodiest matches we've seen in BWF history.
Rayne: Like I said... AWESOME.
Bringing (Sadistically) Sexy Back
After taking a brief reprieve, Emily Corlen opens the door to her office looking at a stack of paperwork. It isn't until a few moments later when she looks up from the stack that she notices her ex-husband Johnny Maverick standing there in just his boxer-briefs. Sweat glistening on his lean yet muscular frame.
Johnny Maverick: Alright Emily. I've given this a lot of thought and the two of us need to stop lying to ourselves. We both know what we want and neither of us are going to leave this office until it happens.
'So that's it then' Emily thinks. 'Johnny finally lost it.' She reaches out to pick up her phone. She was sure security wouldn't be needed but a call to Allen and Spyke might help matters. Johnny casually grabs her phone and drops it in a glass of water.
Johnny Maverick: I'd rather not have any interruptions. Just you, me, and this cameraman to get it all on film. I want...
Emily Corlen: Don't you dare.
Johnny Maverick: ...my BWF contract renewed.
Emily blinks. Twice. She facepalms.
Emily Corlen: Why aren't you wearing clothes?
Johnny Maverick: Because it's Georgia in May and your A/C is out. It is hot as BALLS in here. You can swim in this humidity.
Emily Corlen: Uh-huh. And why did you put my phone in a glass of water?
Johnny Maverick: Why did you have your friends mug me because I wanted a little break?
Emily Corlen: Seemed like a good idea at the time.
Johnny Maverick: Exactly!
Emily releases an almost defeated sigh.
Emily Corlen: I assume you already had your people draw up a contract?
Johnny picks a file off of a nearby shelf and puts it on her desk. Emily opens the folder and has a quick read. She makes a few marks with her pen.
Emily Corlen: We are NOT changing the name of the show to 'Mavok' and you are getting me a new cell phone. A nice one.
Johnny Maverick: Gah, fine. The Mavok merch is still gonna sell like hot cakes. Sexy, sexy hot cakes.
Emily puts her signature on the form and hands Johnny the pen. Johnny signs on the dotted line. Emily extends her hand to shake hands with Johnny. Johnny honks her boob. She might be upset if she was at all surprised. Johnny leaves her office and goes on his merry way, whistling a jaunty tune to himself. Emily facepalms once more.
Emily Corlen: Oh God, what have I done?
As soon as the bell rings, Akemi charges straight at Spyke and strikes him multiple times with a combination of punches. Spyke attempts to fend for himself, pushing her back, only to be met with a harsh clothesline down to the mat. Akemi is quick to mount Spyke and attempt to smash his face in with several right hands. She is momentarily stunned by an elbow to the temple from Spyke, who proceeds to turn her over and strike her with his own chain of punches. He thrusts his right elbow towards her throat, multiple times. After a few nasty shots, Akemi blocks one with her right arm and counters with a sharp backhand to the side of the Tag Team Champion's skull. He staggers away from her, giving Akemi the opportunity to roll to her feet and floor Spyke with the Hoodie Archetype (Standing Sitout Shiranui)! She goes for the pin and the referee counts, but Spyke gets his shoulder up after only two.
Nick Webb: What a move! Akemi almost advanced to round two with that one!
Akemi rolls to her feet and lifts Spyke up. She tries to grapple him, but Spyke counters, kicking her hard in the midsection. He pulls her into a side headlock, wrenching her head, but she refuses to let him gain the advantage by pulling off a reversal. With the momentum she pulls him down with an arm drag and transitions it into a tight armbar!
Rayne: A counter into a counter into a counter! These kids are INSANE!
Spyke, refusing to submit, grits his teeth, instead finding the strength to lift Akemi up and slam her down with a one-armed powerbomb-esque maneuver! Spyke drops to one knee and measures Akemi up, waiting for her to recover. When she does, he leaps up, aiming for her head with The Norris (High-Impact Roundhouse Kick to the Head; Instant KO), but Akemi ducks under the kick, grabbing Spyke and hitting him with the Gift of the Starflower (Devil Lock DDT)! She covers... 1, 2, 3! Akemi Hayashi is moving on!
WINNER: Akemi Hayashi, via Pinfall
"Collapse Generation" by Arcturus hits the BlazenTron as Akemi stands up, grinning happily, and has her arm raised by the referee. A little too banged up to skip around in celebration, Akemi instead opts to roll out of the ring and lean against the barricade, leaving a few fans to pat her on the shoulder and cheer. One of them dumps a pair of pixy stix onto Akemi's head, which prompts Akemi to freak out and start collecting the dust spilling onto the arena floor, yelling loudly about "saving her friends".
Nick Webb: One half of the Tag Team Champions advanced earlier tonight, but the other half was not so lucky. Akemi Hayashi moves on to the Quarterfinals to face Alli Taylor, while Allen Chaney, who won earlier tonight, will face AJ Adams in the Quarterfinals.
Rayne: Don't forget the other two Quarterfinal Matches, too... Finn McConnaigh vs. Caspian Savage and Casey Campbell vs. Zoe Cooper! Out of those eight names, four of them will advance to the Happenstance pay-per-view on June 16, where we will crown the 2014 Happenstance Monarch.
Nick Webb: Those Quarterfinal Matches begin next week. We still have plenty of action for you tonight, though, so don't move a muscle!

Operation Dumbo Drop
Havok returns from commercial and we're backstage, where a small crowd of staff and wrestlers have amassed. Emily Corlen walks onto the scene and everybody stands up, turning to her.
Emily Corlen: Alright, what the hell's going on?
The crowd parts, revealing a bloodied and beaten Toco lying face down on the concrete floor. Emily shakes her head, sighing.
Emily Corlen: Dammit. Alright, did anybody see who did this? I want names, people!
Nobody speaks up. They either don't know, or they're not telling.
Emily Corlen: Or, you know, nobody answer me. Whatever. Do me a favor, get him cleaned up. He has a main event to compete in tonight.
One of the referees, Seth Williams, looks down at Toco and back to Emily, shaking his head.
Seth Williams: Ma'am, I'm no doctor, but I don't think Toco's going to be competing tonight.
Emily Corlen: Of course you're not a doctor, you don't even have a sonic screwdriver.
The crowd chuckles a little as Emily starts looking around. Finally, she spots something out of the corner of her eye and runs over in that direction. The camera reveals Kristy Jackson, the woman who lost to Allen Chaney earlier tonight, dressed to leave the arena, her duffel bag over her shoulder.
Emily Corlen: Hey, hold up. Kristy, we have a problem.
Kristy looks over at Toco, then to Emily.
Kristy Jackson: I didn't have anything to do with that, and I don't know who did. Sorry.
She turns to leave, but Emily grabs her by the sleeve, stopping her.
Emily Corlen: Yeah, yeah. Whatever. I know it wasn't you. No, you can help me out in a different way. Toco's not making it to the main event tonight, according to my referee who is definitely not a doctor. I mean, in Georgia, that's about the best you can ask for, right?
Emily laughs. Kristy doesn't.
Emily Corlen: ANYWAY. I promised these fans a Triple Threat main event match, and dammit, I'm giving them one. Go get unpacked, kid. You're not done tonight. Not by a long shot.
Kristy sets her duffel bag down.
Kristy Jackson: What are you saying?
Emily Corlen: Come on, am I speaking another language here? I know you competed tonight already, but frankly, I'm running out of options and I just don't care anymore. The main event is now going to be Matt Stone defending the International Championship against Scorpio... and Kristy Jackson. No disqualification, Triple Threat match.
Kristy's eyes widen.
Kristy Jackson: W-wow! That's awesome! Thank you!
Emily Corlen: Yeah, yeah. Don't thank me. Thank whoever took Toco out of rotation. This is a golden opportunity, kid. Don't screw it up.
Kristy nods excitedly.
Emily Corlen: ...well? What the hell are you waiting for, an escort back to your dressing room? You have a main event to get ready for! GO! NOW!
Kristy Jackson: Yes, ma'am!
Kristy grabs her duffel bag off the floor and enthusiastically heads back toward the locker room area. Emily watches her go, letting out a small sigh before she heads back over to Toco to check on him.
Emily Corlen: So, what's the plan, here? Forklift? Dump truck? I'm not lifting his fat ass, if that's what you're waiting for.
The crowd laughs as the camera cuts back to the ring.
The match starts off as Stone gets in the ring and scares off Caruso Love, he falls and tags in Jack Hammer. Jack Hammer gets clotheslined and crawls to tag Caruso Love, but Stone grabs Jack and piledrives him! Stone, satisfied with himself, tags in Hardcore Mike who enters quickly, but is unable to stop Jack Hammer from tagging in Finn McConnaigh! Finn misses a clothesline and Hardcore Mike spears Finn in the corner. Finn sits in the corner in pain as Hardcore Mike goes to the opposite turnbuckle, getting a running start and big boots Finn while he’s sitting in the corner. Mike tags in Caspian Savage then AJ Adams tries to get in the ring, getting stopped by Mike Kosiboski which allows Jack Hammer and Caruso Love a chance to get in since the ref is distracted. They attack Caspian Savage and initiate a 3 on 1 on Caspian before the Ultimates get in the ring and to help him. Everybody (save for Elizabeth) is brawling in the ring now that AJ Adams has stopped distracting the ref. Finn locks in the Killmainham (Torture Rack Submission) and has Caspian helpless till Liz jumps on the rope and springboard dropkicks Finn and he is leaning on the rope but he still has Caspian in the torture rack.
Nick Webb: Look at the strength of this man!
Rayne: I’ve never seen somebody have all that power in my whole life of commentating!
With Mike regaining control and ushering everyone back on the apron, Stone tags himself in while Caspian is in the Torture Rack and kicks Finn in the stomach. Finn is holding on to Caspian with all his power, managing to kick Stone in the corner and big boot him while having Caspian in the torture rack! Caspian has passed out from the pain by the time Finn goes by the rope and lets go. Turning to find the legal man, Stone reverse DDT's Finn and pins him 1..2..! Caruso Love pulls Stone out the ring and gets terrified at the look of him, running and getting chased until AJ Adams gives Stone the Legacy Maker (Sister Abigail) outta nowhere and throws him in the ring. Finn picks him up and Irish whips him and goes for the Stone of Fall (Samoan Drop) but Caspian Savage gets in the ring and chop blocks Finn in the knee when he has Stone on his shoulders and Finn hits face first on the turnbuckle pad and Stone big boots him and goes for a piledriver and pins him 1..2..3. WAIT NO KICK OUT!
Nick Webb: Finn McConnaigh trying hard to not end this for his team.
Rayne: Caspian might've went for revenge for what happened earlier.
AJ Adams is going crazy waiting for Finn to tag him in, Liz is casually standing on the apron conversing with Katrina when Stone walks over and tags her in. Liz is heard shouting “Don’t touch me” as Finn tags AJ Adams! The Atlanta crowd goes crazy as Adams and Liz enter the ring, Adams clotheslining her, and then clotheslines her again! AJ hits a spinebuster on the First Lady before picking her up and throwing her in the corner. Adams dashes towards her, leaping as he nears for a stinger splash, Liz slumps on the ground. AJ Adams picks Liz up and gives her a neckbreaker and signals for a pin but doesn't get the three as Davis gets her shoulder up. Liz holds her forehead, hurt, when AJ picks her up and throws her in the corner again, hitting a second stinger splash, but this time she doesn't fall so Adams grabs Liz’s right foot and pulls her out of the corner, locking in his ankle lock! Davis cries out in pain, looking around for the ropes, a partner, anything, but failing that, she forces herself up on her left leg and rolls forward, sending Adams into the turnbuckle. Liz stands gingerly for a moment and spins Adams around, trying to slap the taste out of his mouth, but her attempt is blocked and Adams quickly pulls her head down, spinning out and driving her into the mat with his Legacy Maker (Sister Abigail)! Adams pins Liz for the 1..2..3..WAIT NO! THE ULTIMATES BREAK UP THE PIN! The Love Hammers come in and they brawl with the Ultimates, the Hammers start to beat them down when Caspian Savage comes in for the save, quickly followed by Finn McConnaigh! Finn hits a spear on Stone so hard he can't even get back up, then he gets the Torture Rack on Mike who gets knocked out fast and Finn releases him. Caspian from behind grabs the big man and hurls him over the top rope, Finn landing harshly on his neck and back. The Hammers charge at Caspian, who has the presence to duck and low bridge the tag team, both members falling out over the top rope, leaving Caspian and AJ Adams as the only remaining on their feet. Caspian tries to go for the Warrant Served (Running Arched Big Boot) but AJ ducks the kick and turns around Caspian, leaping into the air with his knee raised to Caspian’s chin, hitting him with the Last Call (Codebreaker)! Adams roars and hypes up the crowd but he turns around and catches the Clock Strikes Midnight (Trouble and Paradise) right between the eyes courtesy of Liz Davis and she goes for the pin - 1.. 2.. 3! The ref rings the bell!
WINNERS: Elizabeth Davis, Caspian Savage & The Ultimates, via Pinfall
"Acapella" by Karmin starts playing over the BlazenTron. Katrina quickly helps Liz out the ring and gives her the BWF World Title and the two sprint to the ramp for safety. Liz holds up the title and celebrates as Scott announces the winners.
Nick Webb: What a match Rayne, there was chaos from start to finish!
Rayne: True, but one person above all else had the wherewithal to sift through the Chaos and pick up the win for her team. Long live the First Lady!
The Other Other White Maverick
Former Chaos Theory Champion Chris Maverick is standing with Don McMichael backstage in front of the Havok backdrop.
Don McMichael: Ladies and gentlemen, standing by is -
Chris leans in, cutting off Don.
Chris Maverick: Yeah, yeah. Shut it. Turns out, I don't get to be the Canadian hero tonight, because I don't have a match, even though I main evented the last show. I'm still in a great mood, though, because I got to watch that fucking asswipe Axel get his ass handed to him by Mick Horrorflick. I was hoping that carney freak would send Axel to the hospital after he robbed me of my title. Axel maybe got lucky against me, but he didn't survive tonight.
Don McMichael: Indeed he did not. Now, your one and only title defense, you looked to be on the path to retain the Chaos Theory title, that is, until Kristy Jackson got involved. Now, as you might have heard, she's been added to the International Title main event here tonight in Toco's place.
Chris Maverick: Yeah, I heard. Pisses me off. I'm a damn ultraviolent star, Don. I'm not some superhero like she pretends to be, I'm your anti-hero. As far as Kristy goes, fuck her. She ain't gonna win tonight, and she sure as hell ain't gonna win against me the next time we go face to face. I beat her in the battle royal and I'll beat her again, anytime, anyplace. By the time I get done with her, people aren't even gonna remember she exists. She can have her spotlight tonight. Fat lotta good it'll do her when Stone or Scorpio grind her into the mat.
Don McMichael: I see. Is this an open challenge to Kristy Jackson, then? Perhaps a title contest if she were to win tonight?
Chris Maverick: I don't need handouts like she does. I'd rather focus my attention on someone who actually matters compared to her. Someone like Mike Mox.
Don McMichael: Mike Mox?
Chris Maverick: Did I stutter? The guy's a star, Donny! He beat Casey Campbell, you remember that? He may have won against a former World Champion, but he couldn't even hold the jock of the first-ever Chaos Theory Champion. You can quote that.
Don McMichael: If you say so.
Chris Maverick: I do say so, Don. In fact, you want me to toss out a challenge? Mox, you and me, one on one, next week. Show up if you have the balls. Don't expect to last more than ten seconds if you do. I'd make a crack about you being used to that, but c'mon. There's no way that guy has ever gotten laid.
Chris laughs and slaps Don on the back before walking off. Don watches him go as the camera cuts back to the ring.
Nick Webb: It’s time, now, for the main event. Matt Stone defends his International Championship against both Scorpio and Kristy Jackson at the order of Emily Corlen.
Rayne: And in a case of ultimate showmanship, Stone has demanded that he comes out first.
Nick Webb: Without further ado, let’s go to Scott Benjamin to get the match started.
Scott Benjamin: The following No Disqualification contest is scheduled for ONE fall... and it is for the BWF International Championship!
"Whoa is Me" by Down With Webster starts to play and the Champion, Matt Stone, comes out first wearing a vintage Deion Sanders Atlanta Falcons jersey, the Atlanta crowd cheering for this homage. Stone holds up the International championship in one hand and starts high stepping it down the ramp like Sanders returning an interception when he gets hit from behind! The crowd start booing as Scorpio picks Matt up and tosses him straight into the guard rail! Stone collides with the steel shoulder first, Scorpio not relenting, picking Matt up and throwing him off the ramp to the concrete floor feet below. Scorpio looks like he might go down to continue, but "Headstrong" by Trapt starts playing and Scorpio backs up down the ramp towards the ring, seeing Kristy coming out and giving chase. Scorpio slides in the ring, followed by Kristy and the bell sounds, this triple threat match begins.
Nick Webb: Stone is down... this match is starting without him!
Rayne: You snooze, you lose, I guess.
Scorpio sends a right hand at Kristy, which is quickly retaliated by Kristy for a right hand of her own. The two superstars go back and forth with right hands; meanwhile, Alison James comes out from the back to check on the fallen Champion. Kristy gets the advantage with a knee lift on Scorpio, doubling him over enough to pick him up and slam him down with a falling body slam, quickly hooking a leg, but referee Jeff Stinson only finds a one count. Scorpio rolls away from Kristy, but she grabs his leg and pulls him closer, dropping an elbow straight down on his right knee. Kristy rolls Scorpio over and lifts him in the air, forcing his leg down so it connected with the mat first. Scorpio rolls under the bottom rope to create some distance, Kristy going right out after him.
Nick Webb: Kristy looks to be in control of this match for now, Rayne. She's not treating this golden opportunity lightly.
Rayne: For now is right, and don’t forget, this is a triple threat match, despite Stone being down up at the ramp.
Kristy starts chasing after Scorpio, but the former International Champion is able to get around the corner and slide back in. Kristy starts sliding in, but pulls out quickly as Scorpio misses an elbow drop. Kristy smiles about outsmarting Scorpio and rolls inside the ring, getting up, but is immediately doubled over by a swift kick between her legs. The crowd starts booing as Scorpio drops Kristy straight down with a DDT, rolling her over for a two count. Scorpio lifts Kristy into a seated position and flips over her, snapping her neck forward. Scorpio, after getting another two count, gets on his feet and calls for Kristy to do the same. As Kristy turns to face Scorpio, she gets hit in the face with Scorpio’s Ozuwara Kick (Superkick)! Another cover gets a nearfall as the crowd starts to cheer, but not for the kick out. Matt Stone is back on his feet and is walking towards the ring, Alison applauding him!
Nick Webb: Here comes the Champion, finally Rayne.
Rayne: He better hurry, the match could be over by the time he gets in the ring.
Matt rips off his jersey and dashes in the ring, sliding under the bottom rope and is met by Scorpio, who starts hammering on him. Stone fights his way up, raking Scorpio’s eyes and taking a step back, lunging forward with his Go Go Gadget Foot, hitting his own superkick on Scorpio! Matt gets out of the ring and grabs a steel chair, sliding back in and cracking the chair across the back of Kristy, who was starting to get up. Matt measures Scorpio and swings for the head, but Scorpio ducks down and leaps in the air, driving both of his knees into Stone’s back with a backstabber! The chair goes flying after Stone is brought down. Scorpio goes over to grab the chair, raising it in the air and slamming it straight down on Stone’s shoulder! Kristy is getting back up, using the ropes to help herself. She turns around and CRACK! Scorpio slams the chair right across Kristy’s head.
Nick Webb: WHAT A SHOT! Scorpio might have taken her head off!
Rayne: That was vicious; Emily wanted Scorpio to take out Stone though, not Kristy!
Scorpio tosses the chair to the side and goes to cover Kristy, getting a two count before Stone is able to dive across to break up the cover. The Atlanta crowd shouts out "twwwoooo" as Scorpio looks back at Matt, pissed. Scorpio lifts Matt up to his feet, backing him up with a knife-edge chop, followed by a second, then third, Matt going all the back to the corner. Scorpio goes and grabs the chair, running at Stone and tossing it at Matt, who catches it only to be hit with a dropkick knocking the chair right into Matt’s face! Scorpio gets up, kicking the chair out of the ring, having this match in the bag, now. He lifts Stone up from behind and goes for his Intensified (Sitout Belly to Back Facebuster), but Stone lands on his feet, spinning Scorpio around and hitting the C-C-C-C-Combo Breaker (Code Breaker)! Scorpio’s head snaps back after making contact with Matt’s knee. Stone starts to get up, going to finish off Kristy, who he doesn’t realize is back up and BAM! Final Assault (Superman Punch, with theatrics)! With Scorpio still out, Kristy wastes no time and heads to the top rope, leaping off onto the Champion with her Suicide Attack (Swanton Bomb)! Kristy covers Stone - Scorpio is still out on the mat! 1... 2... 3! The crowd goes wild for the title change!
WINNER AND NEW INTERNATIONAL CHAMPION: Kristy Jackson, via Pinfall
Nick Webb: We have a new Champion! Kristy Jackson is the new International Champion!
Rayne: What a night for Kristy, kicking off the show with a Happenstance Tournament elimination, only to cap off the night with her winning the International Championship in the main event! Emily will be happy about this!
As if to answer that, "The Look" by Roxette hits the BlazenTron and Emily Corlen comes out on stage holding a microphone under her arm, clapping her hands for Kristy, who is already halfway up the ramp to retrieve her new title that had previously been dropped when Stone was attacked. She eyes Corlen as she passes, but Emily pays her little mind, focusing on the downed Canadian in the ring.
Emily Corlen: Awww, Matt… I’m so sorry about that, you were so close to retaining. I know personally just how much winning and defending Championships mean to you and to lose one like that? That’s got to be devastating. I’m nothing, though, if not a forgiving person and I don’t like seeing someone I once cared about looking so defeated, so I’m going to grant you another title match at the upcoming Happenstance pay-per-view. No, it won’t be a rematch for the International Championship, that’s gone now... but instead you will be facing Elizabeth Davis for the BWF World Championship!
The crowd cheers at this announcement, Stone is just now starting to get to his feet, eyeing the blonde at the top of the ramp. Matt’s holding his head, unable to really react as he’s still dazed from the Final Assault/Suicide Attack combo.
Emily Corlen: Now, this is a great opportunity for you, and I know you’ll give it your all. In fact, I know you so well, that if you don’t walk out of Happenstance with the BWF World Title, you won’t be able to live with yourself. It’s because of this that I’ve already added that, should you do just that and not win the World Title, for your own personal mental health, your contract here in BWF will be terminated on the spot. It's signed, sealed and delivered, Tiger. Best of luck at Happenstance.
Corlen blows Stone a sarcastic kiss and heads to the back, chuckling to herself. The crowd goes from cheering to booing the announcement, Matt falling to his knees, glaring at the back of Emily as she walks out of sight. Alison gets in the ring to check on Matt.
Nick Webb: What an announcement! Matt Stone takes on Elizabeth Davis for the BWF World Title at Happenstance!
Rayne: And if Stone doesn’t win the title, he’s gone, Nick! What a stipulation!
Nick Webb: Round one of the Happenstance Tournament is over; be sure to tune in next week for the start of round two! For Rayne, I’m Nick Webb signing off! Good night from Monday Night Havok!
We see one final shot of Matt and Alison in the ring, talking inaudibly, before the camera fades to the BWF logo, and then to black.
