Episode 169 - May 12, 2014
Nick Webb: Monday Night Havok is live on the FXX Network! We're in beautiful Miami, Florida at the historic American Airlines Arena and Rayne, we've been waiting all year, but the wait is over; the 2014 Happenstance Tournament starts TONIGHT!
Rayne: Sixteen competitors are slated for this year's Happenstance Tournament, but only one of them can make it to the finish line and claim the crown. Tonight, we're going to cut three of them loose, while three more take one step closer to glory. Plus, let's not forget that we're only a week removed from an amazing Danger Zone pay-per-view!
Nick Webb: Three new Champions were crowned in Indianapolis, including the first-ever Chaos Theory Champion, and tonight, that title will be defended for the first time, as Axel takes on Champion Chris Maverick. Plus, new Tag Team Champion Allen Chaney faces the woman who successfully defended the BWF World Title, Elizabeth Davis, in non-title action!
Rayne: But right now, we're kicking things off with tag team action; it's The Love Hammers against The Ultimates, and it starts now!
As referee Jenni Flynt calls for the bell, Caruso Love of the Love Hammers and Stone of the Ultimates square off in the ring, kicking off Havok with a bang Stone goes to quickly tie up with Caruso, pulling him into a side headlock, Stone wrenches in the headlock but just as he loosens up to wrench in again, Caruso slips out and slaps the back of stones head, toying with the new tag-team. Stone turns around as Caruso strikes an almost old timey boxing pose, his fists up, feet shifting back and forth.
Nick Webb: Caruso Love having a little bit of fun against The Ultimates.
Rayne: He's going to regret not taking this match more seriously before this thing is said and done!
Stone looks at him oddly and lunges at him again, but Caruso side steps this time and slaps him on the back of the head, Caruso looking like a boxer out of the 1800s continues to shift back and forth, rolling his fists up, until, with his back turned, Hardcore Mike quickly pushes him forward into Stone, who grabs him for a hard Belly to Belly suplex! Caruso smacks the ground hard and front flips into his own corner where Jack quickly makes the tag!
Nick Webb: Oof! What a tag!
Jack leaps over the top rope and quickly hits Stone with a hard clothesline, he then pushes Hardcore Mike off the apron for pushing his partner, and turns back to Stone. He picks him up and pushes him back into his teams turnbuckle where Caruso makes the tag, Caruso leaps over the top rope and both of them hit a hard double suplex on stone! Caruso goes for the pin, but Stone kicks out at two!
Rayne: Close, but not enough to take down the Ultimates!
Caruso goes back on the offensive and whips Stone into the turnbuckle, he stamps around the ring getting hyped up (ala Jimmy or Jey Uso) then rushes at Stone hits a hard stinger splash! Stone took two steps out of the turnbuckle and Caruso caught him in a front headlock, going for a DDT but Stone quickly shifts his weight backwards and flips Caruso off of him and leaps for a tag to Hardcore Mike!
Nick Webb: That backfired for the Love Hammers.
Hardcore Mike rushes in and quickly pulls Caruso back from tagging in Jack Hammer, Mike picks him up and chucks him into the opposite turnbuckle and begins to drive his elbow into Caruso's skull! The ref Jenni Flynt goes to count out Mike but is distracted as Jack Hammer rushes in to save his partner, Referee Flynt tries to push Jack back as Mike uses the opportunity to choke Caruso out with the help of the tag rope.
Nick Webb: Come on! That's illegal!
Rayne: Only if the ref sees it, Nick!
The ref turns back to Mike and just catches him letting go of the choke hold, she cusses Hardcore Mike out as Caruso catches his breath but Mike goes back on the offensive, however Caruso side steps out of the way and drop toe-holds Mike who gets tangled up in the ring ropes! Caruso rushes over to tag in Jack Hammer. Jack gets into the ring as both of them go over strategy but again as their back is turned, Mike tags in Stone who charges the Love Hammers at full force!
Nick Webb: And Stone has been unleashed!
Stone just barely catches Caruso from behind with a sick spear as Jack Hammer shifts out of the way, Mike rushes Hammer from behind but Jack ducks out of the way and pulls the top rope down so Mike flips over the top and crashes down on the ground below! Stone, busy trash talking his victim turns to face Hammer but gets a boot right to the gut!
Rayne: I'm pretty sure that was a low blow! Where's the bell, ref?!
Hammer pulls Stones head between his legs and pulls him up for a power bomb! He holds him there for a few seconds and out of nowhere comes Caruso love with a sick Leg Drop! Hammer brings Stone down as the Love Hammers pull off a successful Cannon Ball of Love! Hammer drops down for the pin as Caruso flips over the top rope and takes out Hardcore Mike as he is just about to get up!
Nick Webb: The Cannon Ball of Love! Hardcore Mike is down and out! Is this one over?
Jenni Flynt goes down to count and The Love Hammers pick up the three count!
WINNERS: The Love Hammers, via Pinfall
"Love Gun" by Kiss starts playing as Hammer stands up and Caruso gives him an overly excited high five before the two roll out of the ring to celebrate with the crowd.
Nick Webb: The Love Hammers win again! With a win over the new Tag Team Champions already in their pocket, could we be looking at the future #1 Contenders to those titles?
Rayne: I'm sure The Love Hammers would like nothing more than to get a title match. Just more opportunity to hog the spotlight like a bunch of idiots.
Nick Webb: You have such a way with people. Truly moving.
Rayne: Shut up.
All in the Knees
Don McMichael: Ladies and gentlemen, I'm standing by backstage with the woman who suffered a tremendous attack by Alli Taylor just one week ago at Danger Zone- the Sovereign BWF Champion, Zoe Cooper.
Don turns to his right and Zoe Cooper, the Sovereign belt strapped around her waist, hobbles into view with the aid of a crutch. She winces painfully, but still manages a smile for her favorite BWF interviewer.
Zoe Cooper: Thanks, Don.
Don McMichael: Zoe, where are you mentally following the heinous assault of Alli Taylor?
Zoe Cooper: I'll be honest with you, Don, I'm not great. I've busted my rump since joining BWF last year, and I've managed to remain undefeated in the ring against the best competition this company has to offer. Right now, though? I feel vulnerable. I feel exposed for the first time in my wrestling career and I don't like it one bit.
Emily Corlen: That's a shame to hear, hon.
The camera pans over to the left, as BWF C.E.O. Emily Corlen walks into view. She looks Zoe up and down before clicking her tongue.
Emily Corlen: Not lookin' too hot there, kid. Y'know, I put your name into contention for the Happenstance Tournament out of good faith, what with your performances over the last year and all, but, if you're unable to compete...
She pauses for a moment as she stares at Zoe's knee.
Emily Corlen: ...then I have no problem replacing you with somebody who can. Of course, you'd go on the injured reserve list, you'd be stripped of the Sovereign Championship, yada yada yada...
Zoe's eyes narrow as she stares the company C.E.O. down.
Zoe Cooper: I'm not going anywhere. I earned my spot in this tournament and I'm going to make sure I win this tournament.
Emily Corlen: Is that so? You gonna... what, wrestle one-legged? I thought your last name was Cooper, not Gowen.
Emily chuckles, and so does everybody else who watched SmackDown! in 2003.
Emily Corlen: You want to go out there and risk your precious little record with a bum knee? Be my guest. Your contract says BWF can't be sued because of your stupidity. But, be warned... your Qualifying Match? It's next week. You and Toco, one on one. For your sake, I'd hope you're healed up by then.
Zoe Cooper: I've beaten Toco before.
Emily Corlen: Barely. And that was with two perfectly working knees, if I recall. Maybe 2014...
Emily glances down at Zoe's knee again before smirking.
Emily Corlen: ...won't be the Year of Zoe Cooper after all. Good luck next week. You're gonna need it.
Emily shakes her head and chuckles again as she walks off screen. Don and Zoe watch her go before the camera shifts back to the ring.
Mick is already in the ring, sitting on the middle rope and letting it sag under his weight when Casey Campbell finally makes his way. He's been patiently waiting for the music to die out and for Casey to focus on the monster in the ring. That's when "Sick" Mick Horrorflick stands up slowly and patiently, rolling his neck and patiently adjusting his gloves and elbow pads. Casey, on the other hand, is pacing around the man pacing around him, not looking particularly worried, but not as grandiose as he sometimes can be.
Nick Webb: Casey came so close at Danger Zone to capturing the Big Belt, the BWF World Championship.
Rayne: Yeah, but bein' close don't mean a damn thing if you don't seal the deal, brother. And Casey didn't seal the deal at D.Z.
Nick Webb: Yeah, but he wasn't the one tapping to the Maple Leaf Lock, either. And if he can jus- whoa!
And it's a good thing Casey was paying attention, as Mick quickly tires of this game and charges forward with a haymaker! Casey dodges back and actually steps into Mick's next left punch, quickly using his superior technical prowess to lock up with the Deathmatch veteran, wrenching his midsection and trying to go for a suplex of some kind. But with Mick's superior weight, his power advantage and his constant struggling and kicking of his legs, that's difficult for Casey to do, at least right off the bat.
Nick Webb: This "Sick" Mick may certainly look like the more dangerous of the two, and he certainly doesn't waste time in building an offense, but he needs to be more careful here. Casey Campbell is a former BWF and RXW Champion, and is one of our more talented technical wrestlers.
Rayne: Bah, you don't know whatcher talkin' about. Technical wrestling is boring, and mah boy Mick here knows that. Besides, he just needs an opening, and them mitts of his are gonna show Mister Technical here what's what!
Suddenly, Mick goes for a hard back-elbow, but Casey ducks it and lets go just enough to get Mick to spin completely around, all the better to grab the masked man around the front. This time Casey succeeds in lifting him up, only to bring him right back down on his knee, with a Manhattan Drop! Mick is backing up clutching his business, and the ref is admonishing Casey for that move, but BWF's Original PWNStar ignores him to press the offense. He leaps up, and uses that vertical leap to land one heck of a headbutt to the larger, heavier brawler!
Rayne: Well... that wasn't too smart.
Nick Webb: Casey perhaps over-estimating his own strength in the heat of the moment. He's indeed one of our more powerful competitors, but there's a reason you don't headbutt a hockey mask.
Indeed, Casey is a bit staggered himself, rubbing his head and nose a bit and in an instant Mick capitalizes, throwing an uppercut so powerful and so vicious that Casey is brought four inches off his feet, landing hard on the mat. And he tries to scoot backward toward the corner, meanwhile Mick is there landing stomp after stomp after world-shaking stomp right to the face, chest and skull of Casey.
Nick Webb: Oh my god, This "Sick" Mick Horrorflick is absolutely relentless in his offense! He's not out to win this match, he's out to hurt Casey Campbell!
Rayne: Yer goddamn right, it's an all-out Jackboot Bombing to the Nation of PWNness, and nobody's notified the U.N!
Nick Webb: ...WHAT are you going on about?!
Casey has worked his way over to bottom turnbuckle, pulling himself into a sitting position somehow, but Mick has just reached out to grab the middle turnbuckle, to keep himself balanced and throw harder and harder and harder stomps to the foe beneath him, his pupils dilated, and heavy breathing being heard from that black mask of his. The ref is there, almost interjecting himself in the action to count with his hand while he shouts what he's counting to, to make sure Mick sees it. And when he gets to 'four', that's when Mick turns on the ref in a heartbeat, chasing the senior ref away, as if he were a vulture eyeing his freshly-killed gazelle. He storms back from that distraction, only to find a Casey that's back on his feet, and is throwing punches up at Horrorflick! Unfortunately for Casey, Mick is throwing punches down, and Mick is better at this game. Casey gives good, but he gets worse without any leverage behind his attacks, and with that mask giving some minor protection to the bigger man.
Rayne: I like Mick's style, ya know that? He ain't interested in playin' nice, he's interested in showin' dominance, and making sure his opponent can't lay any offense. I'm really into this, man.
Nick Webb: Oh, god! What is he doing here?! This man is deranged!
Somehow, the brawl between Mick and Casey has Casey's back against ropes like he's trying to do a rope-a-dope, but Mick sends a hard right hand that sends Casey half-out of the ring. And much to the shock of Nick Webb, Mick suddenly lunges both of his hands forward, his thumbs being stopped by Casey's desperate struggles from being driven into his eyes. There are screams and gasps of horror from the front row watching this, as Casey is grabbing Mick's wrists and trying to keep those thumbs from pressing into his eyes. Said eyes are wide open in horror, and his wrists are shaking from the effort of holding this back.
Casey Campbell: No! NO! WHAT THE F-
The senior referee was scared off before, but he's not willing to let this continue, and gets interjected in the action again. He's so horrified that he isn't even counting or acting as a referee. Instead, he's trying to help out another human being by grabbing Mick's wrists, and trying to pull him away from the struggling and horrified Casey Campbell.
Mike Kosiboski: What are you, crazy?!
Nick Webb: This man is sick!
Rayne: Yeah. That's his nickname, you idiot.
Finally Mick pulls away, turning on a dime on the referee again, who is practically running the other way and hopping out of the ring, away from the livid and psychotic masked monster. During this time, Casey has spilled out to the ring apron, catching his breath and making sure he hasn't been injured, but now he's tired of playing around with the big man. And as Mick turns around to press the offense, Casey runs down the apron, stretching his left arm out in the ring to catch Mick with a short-armed clothesline! Mick hits the mat right next to the ropes hard, and though Casey usually isn't a springboard artist, he recognizes a great opportunity to do so! He hops his feet up on the second ropes, and uses them to jump up over the top rope, coming down with an improvised elbow-drop, right to the chest of his enemy. Mick coughs and rolls out of the ring immediately, and Casey is following right behind!
Nick Webb: This could be a mistake of Casey's part, but I think the man wants some well-deserved payback against his opponent! Both men obviously want to qualify for the Happenstance Tournament, perhaps at the cost of everything else!
Casey waits for Mick to turn around, and then charges with a running kitchen sink! Well, and intended one anyway, as Mick doesn't fall down from that running knee. He doubles over and gasps for breath, and with Mick standing on the edge of the entrance ramp, Casey considers that a perfect time for a suplex, trying to lift Mick up and smash him right into the concrete. But despite the cheers of the people who are overwhelmingly on his side after that maiming attempt, Mick's kicking and struggling just proves to be too much. And as the ref counts to 'three', Mick sends a sudden knee up into the face of the doubled over Casey, standing him up and causing him to clutch at his mouth and nose, wide-eyed. Not one to waste an opportunity, Mick reaches down and grabs Casey at the waste, hoisting him up and hitting a very sloppy looking flapjack, right there on the steel ramp! Casey's head bounces like a basketball, and he lays there face down, in obvious pain.
Rayne: This is getting good now. These boys are getting down to what the BWF should be all about: Ludicrous violence and frightening medical bills afterward.
Mick is staggering over to the ring, rolls under the bottom rope as the ref counts to '5', only to roll back out, renewing the count and giving himself more time to 'play' outside. And though we can't tell under that mask, his eyes seem to twinkle in a smile as he sees who's standing up there, coming out to watch the fight: Johnny Maverick himself. Not dressed up for a fight, but just scouting the match, it seems. The fans cheer this on, but they quickly quiet down as Mick suddenly charges into a jogging run. Not toward Maverick, of course, but to hit a big boot to the back of Casey Campbell's skull, hitting an improvised version of his move, 'Tread On Me'! It's a sickening impact and Mick has time to stand there in a long-distanced staredown against the Sex Symbol of the BWF. Mick adds to it with a middle finger, which causes the man to just turn away and laugh. Neither man is intimidated by the other, and neither one is going to back down, it seems.
Nick Webb: What's gonna happen here? And Mick better not forget that the ref is counting away, if he's even interested in taking this back to the ring that is.
Mick decides to end the staredown, by returning his attention back to Casey, who's worked to his knees and his grabbing Mick's Motorhead shirt, stretching and ripping it, to reveal a muscled giant frame shimmering with sweat from this grueling match. And Mick boldly turns his back on Maverick up on the entrance ramp to deliver a gutpunch right to the struggling Casey. Grabbing the back of the PWNStar's head, he walks the bodybuilder over toward the ring, as the ref has counted up to '6' once more. But instead of rolling the man back in, he stops in front of the ring-steps, his back to them, and drives Casey's head right into the hard ring apron! Casey once again collapses to his knees in front of the hardcore brawler, who is signalling to the fans that he's going to do something heinous...and probably use the ring steps to end the career of his opponent here tonight! He further rips his own shirt, until it's hanging off him by threads, still attached by the left sleeve faintly. He raises his own hand to the sky, pointing his index finger upward...when his attention is drawn to Johnny Maverick, who's come down to the edge of the ramp, still staring at the big man. Just like that, Mick's attention is taken off his opponent, and he's brought that same arm over to flip Maverick off again, when that proves to be a mistake! Casey lunges AND
Nick Webb: PWNED! PWNED!
Rayne: Goddamn, look at that!
The force of that point-blank spear was so powerful, that Mick's lower-back (as well as Casey's own skull) was driven into the ring-steps and the entire shape tilted to one side, almost bending from the sudden force and power of that finishing maneuver. Seconds later, the ring-steps break apart, the bottom steps smacking back down to earth, and the top-half of the steps flipping and following the two wrestlers who go sprawling against the concrete floor on the other side! Mike Kosiboski, who has been counting the entire time, is already up to 7 as the crowd continues cheering.
7!
8!
It appears that Casey has busted himself open with that move, from the top of his skull where it's turning his blonde hair into some sickly color, and he can barely stand. But he's able to grab the ring ropes and pull himself in under the bottom rope, rolling into the ring and collapsing nearly unconscious. Mick, on the other hand, is still on his side almost facedown, and is trying to work his way to his hands and knees. But despite how tough he is, how much punishment he's taken in his career, that spear into the ring-steps has completely staggered him. He isn't even aware of the ref counting at this point, crawling toward the ring barricade, and grabbing it with one hand.
9!
10!
WINNER: Casey Campbell, via Countout
"Sexy and I Know It" by LMFAO hits over the PA system and the bell rings, the fans all cheering Casey's advancement in this tournament if only because his opponent threw so much at him. Mick has worked his way to one-knee, long hair in his face and his eyes glaring around, sweat pouring off of him in buckets as Johnny Maverick gives mock applause to the happenings in the ring. Horrorflick is glaring daggers at the smaller man as he turns his back to walk up the ramp, no doubt thinking his work is done. But Mick continues glaring, unblinking and neurotic. Even if he can't even make it to his feet without dropping back down to his knees clutching his ribs and sides with one hand, that glare of his promises some form of heinous, heinous retaliation. But none of that matters here, what matters is Casey victorious in the ring, who's too tired to do much, but is able to celebrate in small gestures as the ref raises his hand in victory. The PWNStar is moving on to the tournament!
Nick Webb: Mick Horrorflick impressed - and disgusted - everyone here, but whether he likes or or not, Casey Campbell moves on to the quarterfinals of the Happenstance Tournament! He'll face the winner of next week's Toco vs. Zoe Cooper match in a few weeks on Havok.
Rayne: You mean he'll face Toco. You saw earlier, Zoe's not getting past round one, and if by some miracle she DID, there's NO WAY she usurps the PWNStar! King Casey! I like the sound of that!
Nick Webb: Oh, now you like Casey again. You bipolar bastard.
The ref calls for the match to begin and Finn McConnaigh comes flying out of his turnbuckle and crashes into Scorpio, whom barely had a chance to even move, Finn clotheslines Scorpio into the turnbuckle so hard he nearly flips over the top, Finn rears back, poses to the crowd; then spins back around with another hard clothesline to Scorpio! Finn lets out a tremendous War cry as he grabs Scorpio and whips him hard into the opposite turnbuckle, Scorpio slams hard into it and just as he is about to move, Finn slams into him with a hard shoulder block!
Nick Webb: Scorpio looking about as impressive as PhoeniCyde did against the Emerald Giant at Danger Zone.
Finn grabs Scorpio again and goes to whip him to the other turnbuckle, but Scorpio spins around and quickly pulls Finn into the Megabyte! (Cross Armbreaker) Finn though easily breaks out of it as Scorpio rolls away and then out of the ring, unable to really get out of blocks against Finn he circles around the ring as the ref begins to count him out, Scorpios manager Reece talks strategy with him, as the ref got to his 8 count, Scorpio slipped back into the ring and Finn was on him in a second.
Rayne: Scorpio's no washed up tag team! He's the future, and he's showing that to McConnaigh here tonight!
Finn picked Scorpio up by what hair he had and whipped him into the ropes, Scorpio grasped the ropes to stop himself and was just barely struck with a sick big-boot from Finn! But Scorpio side-stepped just in time and Finn tangled himself up on the ropes! Scorpio saw the opportunity and leap off the middle rope and struck Finn in the back of the head with a hard Enziguri!
Nick Webb: Oh, my! Big Finn is big time rattled! Could this be it? Is Scorpio moving on to round two?!
Finn flips back into the ring and Scorpio goes for a pin! But Finn practically tosses Scorpio before the second count! Scorpio was up on his knees in an instant as Finn got back up to his knees, Scorpio went back on the offensive and rushes Finn. Finn however takes a note from earlier and side-steps Scorpio and directs him right into the turnbuckle! Scorpios shoulder crashes off the metal post as he lets out a sickening groan and slips back out only to turn right into Finn who grabs Scorpio by the neck and hits him with The Parting Glass! (Choke Slam) Finn covers Scorpio for the three count and gets the win!
WINNER: Finn McConnaigh, via Pinfall
"Goin' Postal" by Jim Johnston hits the BlazenTron as Finn stands up and poses, pounding his chest hard as he makes his way around the ring, facing the crowd. A dejected Scorpio rolls out of the ring and groggily shakes his head, then tells off a random fan before heading up the ramp.
Nick Webb: With a second major victory in Finn's pocket, the big man moves on to the quarterfinals of the Happenstance Tournament. He'll face the winner of Omen IV vs. Caspian Savage in a few weeks' time.
Rayne: I hope Savage wins that match. Can you imagine Finn vs. Caspian? Talk about your big hoss showdown!
Nick Webb: I wouldn't count out Omen, either. That's a David vs. Goliath fight I'd pay to see!
Rayne: You work here, you don't have to pay to see the matches. Dumbass.
Nick Webb: You're... a special kind of stupid, aren't you?
Rayne: That's what my business cards say.
Nick Webb: ....I believe you.
Scorpio, Stung
BWF Havok returns from commercial and the cameras go backstage as they come upon the dressing room of former International Champion, Scorpio. The cameras peek inside as Scorpio is packing his things up. The show isn't even over and the self-proclaimed king is already on his way home.
Off-screen: Leaving already?
Scorpio turns just as Reece Paxton walks into the shot and takes a seat opposite Scorpio, watching him pack his things.
Reece Paxton: Off week?
Scorpio: Been a fucking off month, in case you haven't noticed, I'm not champion anymore.
Reece nodded.
Reece Paxton: I know, I was there, and why aren't you champion?
Scorpio slammed his suit case shut, though it didn't have as much impact as he'd hoped, he turned to face his manager, Reece.
Scorpio: Oh, I don't know, why don't you tell me, you're so fucking wise, you know I was doing just fine before you came along? I'm starting to think that your advice isn't worth shit.
Reece sigh and crossed his legs some, leaning back in his chair.
Scorpio: You know what, you and Fanny can go find someone else's life to fuck up, I really don't need you or her anymore. I heard what Emily said at Danger Zone, I have my rematch in two weeks, and I plan to utterly demolish Matt Stone, I plan to take him apart atom by atom... and you... you will not be able to take credit for any of it, because you'll be watching from home, and if I catch you anywhere near the arena, I will personally introduce you to the ground... and your relationship will be intimate.
Reece shot up from his seat and immediately went nose to nose with Scorpio.
Reece Paxton: Listen here you little shit, I have plans, big fucking plans, and they don't need to involve you, in fact I could replace you in an instant because that's just how fucking insignificant you are. Now I'm going to take your little outburst as a sign of exhaustion and the fact that you haven't exactly been right since Matt Stone got the better of you, in two weeks' time I will not only be at the arena, I will be ring side, and when you win, I will be there to raise your arm in victory... or if you'd rather play the lone wolf who thinks he's so fucking tough he can take on the world... I will be there to bury you like the little piece of dog turd you are...
Reece left the room in a hurry as Scorpio stood there, a bit flabbergasted.
Scorpio Jr: What a fucking looney toon.
Scorpio looked as if he'd seen a ghost. The voice in his head had finally returned, and somehow a sense of normality returned to Scorpio. (Of course, the viewer and everybody watching on the Tron in the arena can hear the voice in Scorpio's head perfectly, because fuck logic.)
Scorpio: Junior? Where've you been?!
Scorpio Jr: Vacation, but I'm back, let's get to training.
Scorpio: Two weeks, we have two weeks, Junior.
Scorpio Jr: Right... stop at Wal-Mart and pick up some Journey and Queen CDs. We need Montage Music.
The cameras shift back to the ring as Scorpio and the voice in his head begin to plan.
Chris Maverick and Axel start up the match with a collar and elbow tie-up, Maverick pulls Axels back by the ropes and Irish whips him. Axel lifts Chris up and Chris falls on his back in pain then Axel pulls Maverick by the hair and goes to powerbomb him. Maverick falls off Axels hands in midair and goes for a Hook and Ladder but gets kicked in the stomach. He gets big booted and Maverick leans on the rope, Axel grabs a chair but misses the first chair shot! Maverick ducks the second chair shot and hits a reverse DDT! Chris grabs a table outside the ring and slides it in, taking a moment to shout at the crowd. Getting back inside the squared circle, he sets up the table against the turnbuckle and Maverick leans Axel on the table. Maverick goes to dropkick Axel and the table almost breaks, but stays intact. Maverick goes for another dropkick but Axel catches Maverick for a powerbomb, but instead he does an Ally Oop Bomb and Maverick lands on his feet and enziguris Axel! Maverick hits his leg hard and he falls down with Axel.
Nick Webb: Back and forth action here in this table match for the Chaos Theory championship, Rayne.
Rayne: Chris Maverick seems to be getting the upper hand thus far, with Axel already reeling!
The ref checks on Maverick, who is slower to get up than Axel is, and determines the match continues. Axel signals for a spear but Maverick moves and Axel puts the brakes on before falling into the table. Maverick throws a ladder on Axel then he sets it up. Maverick suplexes Axel and Axel gets up in pain, Maverick spinebusters him and Maverick pulls Axel by the hair and Cutters him. The crowd is getting behind Axel at this point, Maverick puts Axel in a sharpshooter and Axel taps anyway, but the match can't end by submission or pinfall. Axel is still tapping out when Maverick lets go and dropkicks Axel in the leg before putting a chair on Axel’s leg and stomps on it 10 times, Axel is in pain when Maverick climbs up the ladder and Axel takes off the chair and throws it at the ladder. Axel limps to the ladder slowly, Chris looking down on him with evil intentions, but before Maverick can do anything, Axel lunges towards the ladder and knocks it over, sending Maverick crashing down to the mat!
Nick Webb: Maverick is down! Axel is still down! It’s anyone’s match right now Rayne.
Rayne: Anyone’s match? Can Axel even walk right now? Maverick is still in the lead here by my score.
The ref checks on Axel then Maverick, seeing if both men can still continue. Axel and Maverick are in pain but Maverick manages to get up first and pick up Axel, throwing him in the turnbuckle, Axel gingerly running due to his bad leg. Maverick catches Axel under the chin with a stiff uppercut and leaves him, getting the table from the other corner and setting it up in the ring, perfectly opposite where Axel is. Another uppercut dazes Axel further, allowing for Maverick to lift the bigger man up on the turnbuckle and climb up there himself. Maverick hooks Axel’s head in a front chancery, looking to elevate his longtime rival through the table with a superplex, but Axel has other plans, punching Maverick in the ribs once, twice, and the third time forces Maverick out of the headlock. Maverick retaliates with a hard right hand, stunning Axel as the crowd starts to cheer. Believing the Miami crowd is finally coming on with him, Maverick hooks Axel for another superplex attempt before a loud CRACK can be heard, the camera zooming out to reveal Kristy Jackson is in the ring with a kendo stick, swinging it a second time right into Maverick’s back! Axel is able to get his hands on Chris’s chest and force him off the turnbuckle, sending him flying off the middle rope and crashing through the table!
WINNER AND NEW CHAOS THEORY CHAMPION: Axel, via Table KO
Axel gingerly gets off the top rope, nodding to Kristy for the assist as he looks for his belt; before the referee hands it to him though, he too feels the CRACK of the kendo stick over his head, the stick literally breaking in two from the force of the blow. The crowd doesn’t know how to react as Kristy takes the title belt from the referee, looking at it for a moment before dropping it across Axel’s prone body, raising the Kendo stick shard in the air with a triumphant scream.
Nick Webb: Well, we have a new champion here...
Rayne: And we have an immediate challenge. Give the assist to Kristy for sure, otherwise Maverick would have retained, but what a message Kristy has sent here!
Nick Webb: I don’t agree with her methods, but you can’t fault the results, I guess.
Rayne: You guess? C’mon Nick, that was freaking bad ass!
A Queen in Her Kingdom
The focus shifts from Nick and Rayne to inside the ring where we find BWF World Champion Elizabeth Davis standing alongside Katrina Evans, who is holding the title for Liz. Davis has a microphone in her hand, and rather than wait for the hot Miami crowd to die down, she starts speaking immediately.
Elizabeth Davis: I told you all I would still be World Champion after Danger Zone, but no one believed me. I stand here still your World Champion and once and for all proving that I am the best wrestler in this company. AJ Adams, Casey Campbell...these two men gave me everything they had, but at the end of the night, neither one of them was good enough. Sure, they may be stronger, faster, more experienced, but none of that equates to how intelligent I am. Everyone has weaknesses in this ring, but those of us that can outthink the competition will always have the edge, and I proved just that. I was even able to teach Katrina here how to win a match.
There’s a small pop for the Miami Native as she waves to the crowd upon hearing her name called, Liz paying it no mind as she continues to speak.
Elizabeth Davis: Now I admit, there is something to be said for experience, as one year ago at the 2013 Danger Zone I wasn’t any less intellectually superior to my opponent, some red head in a cat suit, but I was greener than the Lantern and wasn’t able to capture the Sovereign Title, a championship which has only diminished in relevance since that day. Some blonde woman is running around with that particular title belt, but I’m pretty sure given the opportunity, even Katrina could take it away from her.
There’s another hometown pop given to Katrina, despite the camera showing several signs praising Zoe Cooper.
Elizabeth Davis: But that’s a discussion for another day, tonight marks just another chapter in the book that is my title reign. The Neverending Story is the working title, but there are sixteen hopeful people who look to rewrite that title, and they’re all about to engage in the opening round of the Happenstance Tournament. This is being hyped as the most important overall event of the year, but let me remind you all of a little history, last year, despite being here and having nothing better to do, I was denied entry in this event and relegated to watching from the sidelines. Well less than a year later, I am the World Champion and not included, but that’s because I’m above it. Only one champion in the past was stupid enough to enter this tournament, defending his World Championship every round and that was simply to boost his own ego, adding another achievement to his resume, despite risking everything. I’m not that desperate for attention, nor am I that foolhardy. I’m content to allow this to play out and take out the winner in due time, regardless of whom that may be. Tonight, I will be taking on one of the many entrants in Allen Chaney, a man who just last week captured his first piece of gold in two years. Good for him, for sure, but if he thinks that momentum will carry his massive frame to a victory over yours truly, he’s in for a long, disappointing night. I’m sure he’s used to disappointing nights, but from the rumors I’ve heard, for Allen they’re usually embarrassingly short.
Katrina laughs as this, a mixed reaction from the crowd though. Liz reaches over to Kat and is handed her World Title, she slings it over her shoulder.
Elizabeth Davis: For the sixteen hopefuls - well, fourteen, at this point - in the Happenstance tournament, allow me to offer you some free advice. Enjoy it; don’t take it for more than it is. Winning the tournament does not entitle you to be the next World Champion, all it does is give you the same opportunity that Casey Campbell and AJ Adams before you, and we all saw how that turned out. Regardless of the new Happenstance monarch, make no mistake about it, I am still the queen, and that’s not going to change. It is at this time that I’ll allow you all a chance to bow down and worship me.
Elizabeth leans down and places the microphone in the mat, holding her World Title now with both hands high above her head to the booing and jeering crowd, a big smile on her face as she walks from side to side to allow everyone in the audience to get their view.
Nick Webb: Elizabeth is certainly not a humble person these days, is she?
Rayne: Humble? Why would she need to be humble? She defeated two former World Champions in the same match Nick! Start worshiping!
The camera takes a view of the commentators' booth where we see Rayne has stood up and started bowing to Liz as she faces his side of the ring, we fade to a BWF ShopZone ad.
Right from the sound of the bell, the Miami crowd knew this was going to be an interesting match, with Liz immediately going on the offensive with right hands, but they had less effect than desired and allowed for Allen to quickly gain control of the match with a deep knee lift, doubling the first Lady over and allowing Allen to lift Elizabeth up off the mat and drive her straight down to the mat with a power slam. The big power move led to a rather quick two count for Allen. Chaney stayed on the attack, lifting Davis up off the mat and whipping her into the corner, following up with a big splash! Davis crumbles to the mat in a seated position, Allen starting to send right hands down on her head as referee Bryan Swanson starts counting for the disqualification, Allen letting up at four and backing up, giving Liz a chance to roll under the bottom rope into the waiting arms of Katrina who checks on her.
Nick Webb: Allen Chaney is having his way with our World Champion right now.
Rayne: It’s still early, but it’s pretty apparent that she’ll need to change her strategy.
After a brief conversation, Liz gets up on the apron and back in the ring, after instructing Bryan to back Allen up. Chaney allows the first Lady to get in safely, but as soon as she steps in, he charges in only to be tripped by Liz, hanging Allen up on the middle rope. Katrina laughs at him from the outside, Liz hitting the opposite ropes and coming back, jumping in the air and coming down with all her weight on Allen’s back. Allen falls on the mat, clutching his throat, Davis getting out on the apron and starts shaking her backside, Katrina reaching up and slapping her backside playfully to the crowd’s dismay. Davis then flips over the top rope for her Do a Barrel Roll (Slingshot Senton from apron to prone in-ring opponent), colliding with Allen on the mat and quickly going for a cover, but only getting a two count. Rather than try and lift Allen up, Davis simply locks him in a side headlock to wear down the Comedian.
Rayne: See Nick, I told you she would be fine, just needed to get her feet under her.
Nick Webb: Her feet and the rest of her body, no one has questioned Elizabeth’s athleticism, just her attitude.
The crowd starts getting behind Allen, his partner, Spyke slamming his hands on the apron to get the crowd more pumped, Allen starting to get to his feet. Liz isn't able to keep him under control, even jumping on his back and sliding her arm into more of a sleeper hold to try and cut off the oxygen to Allen, looking for any kind of advantage. Bryan checks the arm stop ensure it’s not a choke hold, but it doesn’t really matter as the hold is immediately broken when Allen jumps up and falls backwards, landing on top of Elizabeth! Allen is coughing, signifying that it might have been a choke as he starts to get to his feet, Davis just lying flat on her back. Chaney reaches down after a moment of gathering air and grabs Davis’ waist, lifting her up off the mat and flipping her in the air, driving her down to the mat with a gutwrench powerbomb! Allen goes for a cover, but only gets a two count. Allen gets up and hits the ropes, coming back and jumping in the air, falling down on Liz with a senton, quickly pinning the World Champion, but only getting a two count.
Nick Webb: Allen Chaney is in control here Rayne, it’s not looking good for her majesty.
Rayne: Allen’s trying to turn her into a pancake out there! That can’t be right!
Liz is brought up to her feet, having trouble staying vertical as she looks out of it, allowing for Chaney to raise his right arm in the air and bring his elbow straight down upon the top of her head with a bionic elbow. Davis falls down and tries to escape the ring again, but this time Allen grabs her right foot, trying to pull her back. Davis is grasping the bottom rope, not wanting to be pulled out to the center of the ring, Bryan getting in Allen’s face to remind him this is actually a rope break and starts counting, Allen needing to release Elizabeth’s foot and explain to the referee how stupid he was being. Davis is getting back to her feet, Allen brushing past Bryan and goes for Liz, but Davis is able to springboard off the middle rope and leap at Allen, grabbing his head in a front chancery and driving him straight down to the mat with a huge spike DDT! Both Liz and Allen are done, both Katrina and Spyke cheering on their representative. It’s actually Allen who’s back to his feet first, Liz on one knee trying to push herself up right. Allen rubs his elbow and raises his arm to set up another Bionic Elbow, but Davis leaps up in the air, spinning midair and driving her foot square in Allen’s face for her Clock Strikes Midnight (Trouble in Paradise)! Allen falls like a big redwood and Davis gets an arm over his body, Bryan getting down for the cover and counting the 1 2 3!!
WINNER: Elizabeth Davis, via Pinfall
Rayne: I told you! Never count down my girl!
Nick Webb: Your girl?
Rayne: Well... that’s like the royal my…
Nick Webb: That’s not a real thing, Rayne.
Katrina slides in the ring with the BWF World Title and runs to Liz, helping her back to her feet as Karmin's "Acapella" starts playing in the arena. Allen, with the help of Spyke, vacates the ring, leaving Liz to hold up her title as Katrina bows down, expecting the rest of the audience to follow suit.

The bell sounds to signal the start of the match as Austin Scott is quickly all over Alli Taylor with hard lefts and rights before whipping her into the far corner. Scott crashes into Taylor with a running splash before letting her stumble forward and falling on her face. Taylor rolls out of the way of a Scott stomp and gets to her feet and the two lock up. Taylor quickly hits Scott with a kick to the midsection and an European uppercut that rocks his jaw. She then grabs his right arm and twists it and forces him to a knee as she applies pressure on his shoulder. Taylor drops her elbow onto the shoulder joint of Scott.
Nick Webb: The veteran mind of Alli Taylor coming into play here. You either take out the knees or you focus on the most recent injury and we all saw Austin’s shoulder getting iced up after his match with the Rejects.
Alli pops to her feet and quickly grabs the arm again of Austin and pulls back on it with her knee in the joint. Scott pushes himself up to a knee and is able to slip away from Taylor and back to his feet. She charges and he catches her with a Double A style spinebuster. Scott pulls Taylor back to her feet and spins her around before dropping her with an inverted DDT. With Taylor on her back, Scott jumps to the second rope and sits on the top turnbuckle. Taylor slowly gets to her feet and turns right into Scott diving and connecting with a flipping neckbreaker. The crowd roars as Scott pounds his chest a few times.
Rayne: This is beyond a Happenstance Tournament match, this is personal.
Nick Webb: I think Austin Scott should worry more about making sure he wins this match and getting revenge afterwards.
Rayne: I think Austin has this in the bag. When was the last time Alli even had a match?
Taylor is slow to her feet as she stumbles around the ring and right into the arms of Scott who lifts her up. He sets her up for the Booze Crusin’ (Oklahoma Slam) but she slips behind him and lands on her feet. She locks in a dragon sleeper in the middle of the ring. Scott tries to power out and starts to succeed. Taylor spins Scott around and drops him with a DDT. Scott rolls to his knees and sits up as Taylor runs off the ropes and meets him with a dropkick that knocks him backwards. She pops back up and heads to the nearest turnbuckle and starts to climb.
Nick Webb: Don’t count Alli Taylor out just yet.
She puts her arms out to the sides as she smiles. Taylor catches major air as she connects with the Angels Sing (Moonsault) and hooks a leg!

Taylor shakes her hand and hits the mat a few times before pulling Scott back to his feet. She pulls down on his right arm hard as he falls to a knee. He stands and Taylor immediately does it again. Scott takes a knee but this time explodes from the stance with a hard clothesline that does just as much damage to himself as it does to Taylor. Scott gets to his feet and Taylor isn’t far behind. He hits the ropes and ducks under a clothesline from Taylor and hits the ropes again and this time rocks Taylor with a spear. Scott pulls Taylor to her feet and sets her up for a double underhook powerbomb. He lifts her up but Taylor hits him with hard rights before twisting her body and reversing into a hurricanrana.
Nick Webb: Every time Scott starts to get the upper hand the momentum gets reversed.
Rayne: Alli is doing a very good job at keeping him off his game.
Scott flips to the mat and comes back to his feet as Taylor charges and gets rocked with a big back drop. Scott turns and meets Taylor with a few left hands before locking in a side headlock. Scott spins around her and connects with a big German suplex. Both competitors get to their feet and Taylor ducks an incoming Straight Whisky (Running Lariat) and springboards off the ropes, turns midair and catches Scott with a tornado DDT. The crowd is all over Taylor as she smirks and waves out towards the crowd. Taylor charges the ropes, jumps to the second rope and flips backwards looking for the Blowing in the Wind (Lionsault) but Scott rolls away. Taylor lands on her feet and gets scooped up by Scott and slammed down with the Booze Crusin’. Scott hooks the leg into a cover.

Nick Webb: Austin Scott focused and determined right now.
Scott pulls Taylor to her feet and hits a scoop slam in the middle of the ring. He climbs to the second rope once again and as Taylor reaches her feet, Scott comes jumping off looking for a double axe handle smash but she dodges. Scott turns to Taylor and gets hit with a kick to the gut before she quickly locking in a side headlock. She rushes the turnbuckles and uses them to push off, spin, and connect with a bulldog. Both competitors start to get to their feet and Scott hits Taylor with a release German suplex. Taylor gets back to her feet and gets sent into the corner once again and hits hard, falling to the mat in a seated position.
Nick Webb: Scott is goin’ muddin’ and the fans are loving it!
Austin Scott charges and connects with his knee to the skull of Alli Taylor as the fans roar. Scott pulls her out of the corner and pulls her to her feet before lifting her to his shoulder, looking for the Ace in the Hole (Rikishi Driver). Taylor falls back behind him and as he turns around she connects with the Lipstick (Superkick) that echoes throughout the arena. Alli Taylor lets out a primal scream as she pulls her hair back before throwing her arms out and starts to stalk Scott. He slowly gets to his feet and walks into the Jersey Cutter (Twist of Fate). She covers and hooks a leg as the fans boo.

WINNER: Alli Taylor, via Pinfall
Nick Webb: Alli Taylor just knocked off one of the hottest young stars that BWF has seen in years and has advanced to the next round in the Happenstance Tournament.
Alli Taylor watches Austin Scott roll out of the ring as she walks over and leans out of the ring, asking Benjamin for his microphone.
Alli Taylor: Why? Why did I do it? Why am I back?
She takes a few deep breaths, trying to slow her breathing after the match.
Alli Taylor: I looked at the BWF and saw this young, rising star named Zoe Cooper and remembered how everything that has been handed to her should’ve been mine. Every single time I started to get ahead someone pulled me down. David Blazenwing resented me for running this company with Cody Clark, when in reality, I was just as much a victim in that as he was. She not only had the titles, the fans, she also had the guy. Why her? That’s my question. Why her? What makes Zoe Cooper so special?
She looks at the camera and practically snarls.
Alli Taylor: Nothing. She’s been protected up until now. Everyone that’s stepped into the ring with her has fallen short but that’s because they didn’t stack up. I stack up. I proved that Zoe Cooper isn’t invincible. I proved that I can run with these new kids by taking down her boyfriend tonight. I will be the next in the long line of Happenstance winners. I don’t care who stands in my way or who gets placed in front of me. I don’t live in a world of rainbows and unicorns like Zoe Cooper. You can call me a realist. The reality is that I am better than Zoe Cooper and I will be the 2014 Happenstance Queen.
Alli Taylor drops the microphone as the crowd boos, rolling out of the ring and heading up the ramp.
Nick Webb: What a performance here tonight from Alli Taylor and what a return. That was a statement to everyone in the locker room that she is here to compete and is here to win.
Rayne: She hasn’t had a match in YEARS and she looked great against the young gun Austin Scott. What’s going to happen over the next few weeks when she knocks off more rust and gets back into the groove of things?
Nick Webb: 2014 could very well be Alli Taylor’s year. She seems more focused and determined than I’ve ever seen her. Folks, we're out of time for Havok tonight; thanks for tuning in, we'll see you next week as the Happenstance Tournament continues! Good night!
We see one last shot of Alli Taylor standing on the stage, telling off the fans, before the camera fades to the BWF logo, and then to black.
