Episode 165 - April 7, 2014
Nick Webb: The Streak might be dead, but we're alive, kicking and ready for some amazing BWF action! Monday Night Havok is live in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and the Resch Center is rocking!
Rayne: As it should be! We've got two matches with former World Champions facing off, as Matt Stone battles Toco and Casey Campbell faces AJ Adams. Plus, two future World Champions, Scorpio and James Carson, will wage war and if that wasn't enough to get your blood pumping, in the main event, we've got ourselves a BWF Tag Team Title Match, as Axel and Chris Maverick team up to hopefully win their second straight match as a team and dethrone Zoe Cooper and Austin Scott! Can the rookies make history just across the street from the historic Lambeau Field? We'll find out later tonight!
Stone Cold?
The camera comes in on Matt Stone sitting in his locker room, taping up his wrists for his match with Toco. We hear the door open and in walks BWF World Champion, Elizabeth Davis. The camera starts out with a rather favorable camera angle of her from behind, if you’re into that kind of thing. It quickly adjusts so that we can see both her and Matt in the shot. Stone looks up, he has a bandage on his forehead from last week.
Matt Stone: Yes? Can I help you?
Elizabeth Davis: As a matter of fact, yes you can. I need you to help me take care of a problem. Casey Campbell has apparently taken exception to losing to me at Tainted Twilight and has elected to nominate himself as a thorn in my backside.
Matt Stone: That’s a shame.
Elizabeth Davis: Yes, quite. I could use some assistance in keeping him at bay.
Matt Stone: Could you?
We hear Elizabeth sigh, obviously not being too impressed with the way Stone is behaving.
Matt Stone: Perhaps you should have thought when I was looking for assistance last week, Lizzy.
Elizabeth Davis: This is different.
Matt Stone: How so?
Elizabeth Davis: This is me asking you for help.
Matt Stone: Don’t see the difference.
Liz stands there, hands on her hips for a few moments. She sniffs, quickly, rubbing her nose discreetly before placing her hand back on her hip.
Elizabeth Davis: Are you sure there isn’t anything you can do to help me?
Stone eyes her for a few moments, standing up and looking her in the eyes. He smiles at her, understanding what she was getting at.
Matt Stone: Sorry Liz, you’re on your own for this one.
Matt walks past her out of the room, Elizabeth turning around and watching him walk out, surprised at what had just transpired as Havok shifts back to the ring.
The match starts with Stone and Toco meeting in the middle of the ring for a collar and elbow tie-up, Stone quickly ducking behind the larger man and locking in a side headlock. Toco pushes Matt off towards the ropes and Stone ducks a clothesline attempt, rebounding again and leaping in the air and connecting with a forearm smash, rocking Toco, who stays vertical. Stone hits the ropes and does another flying forearm, knocking Toco back another step, but not to the mat. Stone frowns, hitting the rope one more time, but gets taken down with a big boot before he can leap much to the appreciation of the fans. Stone is lifted up by Toco and slammed back down with a hard sidewalk slam, which leads to the first two count of the night. An elbow drop by Toco leads to Stone rolling out to the apron, using the ropes to stand up, but he’s soon knocked off by a running shoulder tackle, propelling Stone into the barricade! The nearby fans start cheering as Toco exits the ring after Stone.
Nick Webb: We’re seeing a much more aggressive Toco here tonight than we’re used to, Rayne!
Rayne: Toco seems motivated for sure, but Matt Stone beat three men last week! Surely, he can defeat Toco.
Nick Webb: Please, don’t call me Shirley.
As Toco exits the ring, Stone has had time to recover and goes for a hard right hand, but it’s caught by Toco, who captures The Straight Shooter and starts raining headbutts into him! Five, six, seven quick blasts open up the cut on Stone’s forehead from last week as the nearby fans love the action. Toco rolls Stone in the ring after the tenth shot and raises his hands in the air to the delight of everyone around him. Toco rolls in the ring and grabs Stone’s head, lifting him up, but catches a quick thumb to the eye for his troubles. Stone starts hitting Toco with hard right hands, backing him up against the ropes. Stone takes a few steps backwards, calling for Toco to bring it, and with one step off the ropes, Toco eats Stone’s right foot for the Go Go Gadget Foot (Superkick) but Toco still doesn’t go down! Dazed, he falls back against the ropes and when he bounces, he’s immediately doubled over by a stiff right foot, Matt pulling in the big man and lifting him up off the mat! Stone holds Toco in that position for a good ten seconds before falling backwards for his Piledriving Miss Daisy (Delayed Piledriver)!
Rayne: What strength by Matt Stone!
Nick Webb: I gotta admit, that was impressive.
Rayne: Wait, what’s all this?
Just as Toco’s head hits the mat and he rolls over, spread out, "The Look" by Roxette plays in the arena and all eyes go to the entrance ramp where BWF C.E.O. Emily Corlen stands with a microphone in her hand.
Emily Corlen: Pardon the interruption, but I just couldn’t wait any longer to make this announcement. Come May 5th, Scorpio will be defending the International Championship against that man right there, Matt Stone at Danger Zone! Good luck, Matt! I know you'll do great!
Stone, who is now standing up near the ropes, forms a ghost of a smirk on his face, hearing the news, until he’s quickly rolled up by Toco! 1, 2, 3-NO! Stone shoots his shoulder up at the last possible second, scrambling to his feet, pointing to his head that he’s far too smart for that to work, or he was showing Toco where to attack, because within a second, Stone is lying face down from Toco’s To-Cutter (Diamond Cutter)!!! The crowd erupts as Matt is rolled over by the big man and covered for the 1, 2, 3!
WINNER: Toco, via Pinfall
"Chevelle" by Red hits the BlazenTron as Toco rolls to his knees and wipes the sweat from his brow. Emily has disappeared from the stage, but Alex Wilkie has taken her place, staring down his Danger Zone adversary. Toco glances up at the stage and points at Wilkie before pointing down at Matt and yelling "May 5th, that's you, tough guy!"
Nick Webb: Toco is victorious here in Green Bay, with perhaps a small assist from the C.E.O. of the BWF.
Rayne: Small assist? She basically gift-wrapped Fatty McGoo a victory against one of the greatest BWF competitors in history. So, yeah, consider that a "small assist".
The Next Step
The cameras of Havok go backstage to the dressing room of BWF's International Champion, Scorpio, sitting on the dressing room bench, applying some tape to his wrist. He looks up off camera.
Scorpio: Alright, explain to me how this is going to work again, everyone thought you were dead, and now you're just going to come back and start training me for no real reason.
The camera pulled back a little to reveal Reece Paxton, standing in a black and grey suit, and a deep red tie. A permanent scowl had creased his face, making him look older than he really was.
Scorpio: I mean, no one is going to believe you're that long haired bearded kid who came in and rocked shit a few years ago, you disappeared into the Underground X scene and disappeared when that shit went down at Disneyland... and now you re-appear looking like a pissed off Canadian Vladimir Putin, which by the way, I will put aside the fact that you're Canadian and you talk to me like you're my superior.
Reece didn't look too happy, nor did he look at all displeased with some of his comments.
Reece Paxton: I talk to you like I am your superior because I am... and will remain until such time as you've held the BWF World Title, my daughter seems to like you, I don't share that sentiment, you're brash, arrogant, a drunk and a fool, and if you didn't have good looks, you would've been shot a long time ago, but the fact remains, here we are, you want to hold two titles at once, and then potentially move onto a third, I will help you get there, when I disappeared I had a lot of time to think, train and hone my skills not only as a wrestler, but as someone who could kill with their bare hands... I won't take you that far since you're more than likely to choke the life out of someone for the fun of...
Scorpio stood up and pulled on his leather jacket.
Reece Paxton: I will make you a real competitor... I will make people fear you, instead of fear having to be around you... those sniggers and chuckles you hear when you walk down the hall-way will turn to silence when you pass... I will turn The Dreamwave into a wave of fear and despair.
Scorpio looked to Paxton. Narrowing his eyes.
Scorpio: You can really do all that for me?
Paxton smirked.
Reece Paxton: I wouldn't be here if I was unsure... You will bring legitimacy to the titles... The first ever Undisputed International Sovereign Champion...
Scorpio returned the smirk, chuckling lightly.
Scorpio: It's got a nice ring to it, don't you think?
Paxton picked up Scorpio's title and handed it to him and Scorpio headed out of the dressing room for his Match, Reece hung behind some, leaning back a little against the wall.
Scorpio doesn't bother waiting for the bell to sound to get the action started, attacking James as we makes his way to the ring. The loss last week has infuriated Scorpio to the point where the rules needn’t apply to him anymore, at least in his mind. The International champion whips Carson into the steel steps outside the ring, knocking them off base. Scorpio lifts James up and tosses him in the ring now, following him in, shouting that Seth should ring the bell. The bell sounds and as Scorpio goes to press his advantage, he’s taken down by Carson with a tackle out of nowhere! James starts hammering Scorpio over and over, Seth needing to utilize his count and it’s at 4 before James pulls up. Carson replaces his right hands with kicks as he harasses Scorpio to the point where he needs to exit the ring.
Rayne: James Carson looking strong here after getting jumped earlier.
Nick Webb: The fans don’t seem to have a favorite for this match; they’re just enjoying seeing these two guys tear each other apart.
Scorpio is back in the ring now and the two resume their brawling, both men throwing haymakers that would knock lesser men out. James gets the advantage and spins Scorpio around on his feet, dropping him straight down to the mat with The Sacrifice (Inverted DDT). James goes for a cover, but only gets a two count. James gets up, and rather than go for another move, he starts walking around the ring, muttering something to himself. Scorpio is slow to get up, and when James sees him up, he measures the champion and swings for his knock-out shot, The Awakening (Bull Hammer Elbow), but Scorpio is able to duck the blow, and as James’ back is turned, Scorpio sets him up and drops him with Intensified (Sitout Belly to Back Facebuster)! Rather than go for the cover, Scorpio signals the end of the match and delivers the tagline for Danger Zone, The Dreamwave (Tommy Dreamer's TommyHawk). Scorpio hooks the outside leg and gets the 1, 2, 3!
WINNER: Scorpio, via Pinfall
"Dreamwave" by Vogel plays as Scorpio rolls out of the ring, grabbing his title from the timekeeper and holding it up in the air as he makes his way to the back, glad to have started a second winning streak so soon after his first ended. Back in the ring, James is sitting up, holding his head, shouting things, but not at Scorpio, but rather to himself and perhaps more incredibly, he starts answering himself as well!
Rayne: What is he doing, Nick?
Nick Webb: I don’t have the slightest clue Rayne, but it sort of creeps me out.
Rayne: Me too... you’d think he’d get along with himself. I know I get along with myself.
Nick Webb: You’re the only one who does.
A Championship Fit for a Lady
Nick Webb: Coming up next, we have a special presentation for the official BWF World Title.
Rayne: I spoke with Elizabeth backstage and she’s told me this is going to be a historic night.
Nick Webb: You expect me to believe she gave you the time of day?
Before we can hear the witty retort from Rayne, “Acapella” by Karmin starts to blare throughout the arena and the crowd starts to boo as Elizabeth Davis walks out from behind the curtain, waving to a few cheeseheads in the front row as she passes by. Elizabeth flips her hair back over her shoulder as she walks up the steps, bending low and getting inside the ring under the middle rope. She walks around the ring, waving to various people in the crowd despite the overwhelming negative response she was getting. She stops at Scott Benjamin standing in the corner, holding out her hand to get his microphone. He reluctantly hands it over to Elizabeth and she gets ready to speak as her theme plays out.
Elizabeth Davis: Hello Green Bay!
The crowd starts booing loudly, obviously sandbagging the attempted cheap pop.
Elizabeth Davis: Last week, I came out here and made the very accurate observation that I am indeed the First Lady in the Blazenwing Wrestling Federation, and apparently, that upset a few people in the back. Namely, Casey Campbell. Apparently, Mr. Campbell believes that he should be the one that gets the spotlight as he not only saw fit to interrupt my time at the start of Havok, but he also decided to interfere in my match with Kristy Jackson! Physical wounds will heal Casey, but I feel so bad for young Kristy Jackson. She had a real opportunity to make an impression and you callously tore it away from her, and for what? To come out and steal my Championship? Well, I hope it was worth it, Casey, but something I feel necessary to explain to you is that you walked off last week with a trinket. A gimmick that you introduced solely for your own entertainment. Well, you can keep it Casey, for you see, I learned a long time ago that it’s not the Championship that makes the Champion, it’s the Champion that makes the Championship. You made that spinning Championship a joke, your T-shirts adorning the image are on clearance as we speak! You can cling to the past, Casey, but me? I’m going to look to the future, and in that vein, I’d like to ask that Katrina Evans join me in the ring at this time.
Nick Webb: What’s this about, Rayne?
Rayne: I don’t know, but I’m glad to see Katrina coming out now!
Katrina comes down to the ring, holding a pillow with a veil on top, clearly concealing something underneath. The crowd doesn’t seem to care at all as Katrina walks down to the ring, despite Katrina flashing a smile to whomever she passes. Davis pulls Benjamin over to get him to hold the ropes for Katrina who gets in the ring, walking around showing off the hidden object in her arms. She finally stands in the center of the ring and Liz pulls off the veil to reveal the new (old?) BWF World Title.
Elizabeth Davis: This, ladies and gentlemen, is the real BWF World Championship. This will soon be the most sought after Championship not only in this company, but in the wrestling business as a whole. My name is Elizabeth Natalie Davis, and I will be ENDing the long list of Champions that has plagued this company since its return last year. AJ Adams, Kyle Cross, Outlaw, Elena Simonova and most embarrassingly of all, Casey Campbell, have all been able to call themselves World Champion in this company, and it’s just not good for business. In 2014, there will not be another person to call themselves World Champion, for it will be me until then, and happily ever after.
Elizabeth takes the Championship off the pillow and holds it high in the air to a chorus of boos. Katrina is handed the title and she wraps it around Elizabeth’s waist, clasping the title firmly.
Elizabeth Davis: I won’t back down from any challenge, and whether it’s Casey Campbell, AJ Adams or whomever Emily decides to put in front of me, I will take them down, but don’t fret BWF, it’s nothing personal... just business.
Elizabeth winks to the camera as her theme plays up again, seeing the World Champion take a lap around the ring, waving to everyone again as they reign down boos and jeers.
Nick Webb: I don’t know if it’s obvious to anyone else, but Elizabeth sure seems full of herself lately.
Rayne: What are you talking about? She’s the World Champion, Nick! Long live Liz!
Senior referee Mike Kosiboski calls for the bell and the two men meet in the center of the ring, Casey standing over AJ with an air of confidence about him. Casey Campbell and AJ Adams circle each other in the center of the ring for about twenty seconds before the rage filled PWNasaurus Rex just goes after AJ Adams with fists. AJ Adams is easily able to sidestep the larger man to deliver a stiff kick to the back of his skull to send him down to the mat. Casey Campbell, however, is as stubborn as they come as he gets back up to his feet quickly to turn around for some more punishment. AJ goes to sidestep this most recent series of punches, but Casey Campbell is ready as he delivers a side step of his own and began to wail away on AJ's skull with soupbone after soupbone. AJ's head is rocked as well as his ribs as Casey Campbell pounds him into the corner. AJ is able to duck under a right hook to deliver a chop to Casey Campbell's throat that backs him off of the onslaught. Adams quickly backs up the turnbuckle to dive off with a clothesline that takes Casey Campbell down to the mat in a heap as he is still holding at his throat in pain. AJ begins a vicious stomping assault as he walks around Casey Campbell's body with stomp after stomp weakening every possible body part, as well as every single body joint. Casey rolls out of the way of the stomping to receive hard kicks to the ribs when he manages to get up to his elbows and knees. Adams delivers a vicious kick to Casey Campbell's ribs that roll him over onto his back, but the former World champion wasn't finished as he locks on a triangle choke on the other former World Champion. Casey Campbell is able to get into the ropes, but AJ Adams holds the hold on until about four and three quarters releasing only when threatened with a disqualification.
Nick Webb: These two men are tearing into each other here tonight, Rayne!
Rayne: Well, last week, Casey made a statement that this was his show, and he wants to prove it here.
AJ yells out to the crowd, something about this is one of the best the BWF has to offer? Then he begins to laugh as he pulls Casey Campbell up to the vertical base. AJ then delivers a series of moves that involve a European uppercut, arm drag, swinging neckbreaker, and an Ankle Lock submission move. Casey Campbell is able to somehow reach the ropes because he hates to submit to pain. AJ bounces up, taunting Casey and getting the crowd to cheer him even more. AJ makes a big mistake though as when he goes to hype the crowd, he turns his back on the PWNinator, which gives the man a big advantage. AJ turns around right into a PWNED!! The crowd gasps as Casey goes for the cover, but Adams kicks out right before the three. WTF? Casey, looking dejected from that, rolls out of the ring and heads over to the timekeeper, grabbing his spinner belt and slides it in the ring. Mike immediately goes to get rid of it, missing Casey slide in the ring with a steel chair in hand. Casey swings the chair at Adams, but he misses, Adams catching Casey with a reverse crescent kick, knocking the steel chair right back into Casey’s head! The chair flies out of the ring and Adams grabs Casey, locking him up and quickly spinning him into the mat with his Legacy Maker (Sister Abigail). Adams goes for the cover, hooking both legs as Mike is back in position and is able to slap the mat three times before Casey kicks out!
WINNER: AJ Adams, via Pinfall
"Lights Out" by P.O.D. starts playing as AJ Adams pulls himself to his feet and poses in victory. Moments later, "The Look" starts playing and Emily Corlen once again appears on the stage.
Emily Corlen: Last week, Elizabeth Davis saw fit to grant Casey Campbell a rematch for the BWF World Title at Danger Zone on May 5th. However, that man was just pinned clean by Mr. Legacy himself, AJ Adams. So, in the spirit of what Liz said earlier tonight about not backing down from challenges and taking on all comers, allow me to officially declare that, at Danger Zone, Elizabeth Davis will be defending the BWF World Championship in a Triple Threat Match... against both Casey Campbell AND AJ Adams!
The crowd roars and AJ grins, nodding at Emily as she heads back through the curtain and "Lights Out" starts playing again.
Nick Webb: WOW! The main event of Danger Zone is now a three way battle for the BWF World Title! Liz Davis, Casey Campbell and AJ Adams!
Rayne: That's not fair at all!
Nick Webb: That's just life, Rayne. Can Liz survive her first title defense in Indianapolis... or will we see a new BWF World Champion crowned at Danger Zone?
Rayne: This is just unjust punishment because Liz was associated with Matt Stone! Corlen's gone off the deep end! Someone stop her already!
Coming Soon on Pay-Per-View
~ Live from the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana ~
May 5, 2014 - Only on Pay-Per-View
The four combatants make their way to the ring and privately decide who will be starting the match, ending on Scott and Axel approaching the center. The two of them decide on a test of strength as the best way to open this Tag Title match, locking hands and both men trying to jockey for position. It seems like, despite being slightly shorter, Austin is the stronger of the two, getting a slight advantage before receiving a knee to the midsection, rendering the test of strength moot. Axel hits the ropes and comes back with a hard clothesline, knocking Austin down to the mat quickly. Axel lifts his opponent and quickly drives him back down with a neckbreaker. Axel backs up and tags in Chris Maverick, who hops over the top rope and the two of them lift up Austin and drop him down with a double gut buster! Zoe seems agitated that this is happening and attempts to come in to stop the double teaming, but she’s quickly met by referee Jeff Stinson and the distraction allows for another Canadian double team, this time culminating in an elevated clothesline, or to most of the fans, the original Hart Attack. Despite hitting the move flawlessly, by the time Jeff turns around, he only finds a two count for Maverick.
Nick Webb: That was a close one, we almost had new Tag Team Champions!
Rayne: These two are working very well together given just two weeks ago they were fighting each other!
Maverick lifts Austin up by his hair, whipping him into the ropes and setting him up for a back body drop, but Scott jumps over him and hits the ropes, and as Chris looks to grab him, Austin takes him down hard with his Straight Whiskey (Running lariat)! The crowd cheers as both men are down. They both look for their corner, Chris faster and tags in Axel, the Canadian charging in, but unable to prevent the tag to the Sovereign champion and Zoe comes in like a house of fire! Spinning wheel kick takes down Axel, straight dropkick takes down Maverick, arm drag to Axel, arm drag to Maverick, the crowd cheers. Zoe hits the ropes and ducks under an attempted double clothesline, hitting the ropes and springboarding, hitting a double crossbody on the Canadians! Back to his feet, Axel tries to take down Zoe with a clothesline, but she ducks and connects with her Revolutions Per Minute (Rolling Dodge into a Spear) taking out Chris Mavierck! Axel grabs her hair from behind, but he eats a reverse elbow, which Zoe quickly spins around and follows up with her Candy Crush (Sit-Down Facebuster)! Zoe shoots the half and hooks the outside leg, getting the 1, 2, 3!
WINNERS AND STILL BWF TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: Zoe Cooper & Austin Scott, via Pinfall
Rather than play Zoe’s theme however, we hear no music, but over the sound of the cheering crowd, we hear the sound of one man clapping. All eyes go to the top of the ramp where Johnny Maverick, of no relation to the now fallen Chris Maverick, stands holding a microphone.
Johnny Maverick: Congratulations on your victory. No, really, I mean it. Impressive. It got me thinking, though... what would be even more impressive than that, and then it hit me. How about, at BWF Danger Zone, we see Zoe Cooper and Austin Scott defend their titles, one more time, against the team of Spyke Gein and Allen Chaney, The Rejects?
The crowd starts to boo, remembering what happened the last time those two teams met up.
Johnny Maverick: Now, now, Green Bay, before you hate on this, I personally guarantee that unlike last time, this will be a fair contest with a proper winning team. What do you two say?
Rayne: Is he serious? That’s like inviting the hero into your death trap!
Nick Webb: I think Johnny is telling the truth. He’s been mentoring The Rejects lately, I think he’s legit.
It doesn’t take Zoe or Austin long to think, as they both nod their heads to each other and the camera picks up them shouting “We accept!” The crowd cheers, at this point, seeing the team not backing down and Johnny just nods his head, heading to the back and allowing the team to celebrate their victory.
Nick Webb: Well, how about that? Looks like we’re going to get a Tainted Twilight rematch at Danger Zone, Rayne.
Rayne: That card is looking better and better, I can't wait!
Nick Webb: Same here. Folks, for Rayne, I’m Nick Webb... we're out of time tonight. Be sure to tune in next week for another exciting edition of Monday Night Havok! Good night from Green Bay! We'll see you next week!
We see one final shot of Zoe and Austin celebrating with their titles in the ring, before Havok fades to the BWF logo, and then finally to black.
