Episode 143 - June 20, 2011
BWF Havok comes to you live tonight from the Gill Stadium in Manchester, New Hampshire! Nick Webb, Rayne and Alex Wilkie open Monday Night Havok by welcoming fans to the show! BWF Havok is just one week removed from it's WrestleFest event and tonight marks the end of an era- David Blazenwing's era. After Team Maverick defeated the Alliance of Wrestling's Finest, JMav turned around and sold the company to an interested buyer. Who is that third party? What does it mean for BWF's future!?
The Champ Is...
Scott Benjamin: Ladies and gentlemen please welcome the BWF World Champion, the marVel.... Gabe... Shelley!
"In Fate's Hands" by Red Jumpsuit Apparatus begins to echo throughout the arena as the fans jump to their feet for the champ. There's no fancy lights and no pyrotechnics as Shelley makes his way to the stage in his street clothes. He points out to the fans and pats the World title around his waist. He starts to make his way to the ring with a noticeable limp in his step. The champ slowly climbs the steps to the ring and climbs inside. He calls for a microphone as Benjamin tosses one in to him.
Gabe Shelley: What a week it's been I'm sure a lot of you have heard, and seen. Last week at WrestleFest I achieved my dream ever since stepping foot in the BWF ring. I was inducted into the Hall of Fame and I walked out of the show the BWF World Champion after winning a very controversial main event match.
The fans cheer and give Shelley a standing ovation as he waves and nods his approval.
Gabe Shelley: That's why I'm going to try and keep this as simple as possible so I don't start to get all emotional.
There is a long pause from Shelley as he takes a deep breath and the fans seem to all sit on the edge of their seat.
Gabe Shelley: Earlier this week I fly home to Columbus to have my knee checked out and it didn't look too good. There had been significant damage done but I wouldn't believe it. The doctor there didn't have hope for a good enough return to be where I want. So I booked a flight and got a second opinion and unfortunately I received the same news. I was asked what kind of life I want to be able to have once I decide to walk away for good. What kind of movement would I want to have once I started a family and had kids, those types of things. There is a lot of stress on my knees going back and forth between Havoks and Violences and I had to come to a decision and it's the toughest I've ever made.
Shelley unsnaps the belt from his waist as a ring lowers from the ceiling. He hooks the World title to it and it raises 15 feet above the ring as the fans all clamor and talk amongst themselves. Shelley shakes his head and looks down at the mat, away from the fans.
Gabe Shelley: I'm stepping away in the position I want to be in. As of this moment I am no longer your BWF World Champion. I promise you that this will not be goodbye as I will be in this ring once again, I can never truly leave, but I also can't defend this title to the ability that I promised all of you I would.
Shelley looks up with a few tears in his eyes and waves to the fans who are still shocked.
Gabe Shelley: Until next time, BWF.
He drops the microphone and starts to head out of the ring and the fans give him a standing ovation as he leaves.
Nick Webb: Did we really just witness Gabe Shelley walk away from the BWF?
Rayne: What a way to start the show. Am I the only one who didn't see that coming?
Nick Webb: The BWF was just turned upside-down and we haven't even learned who the new owner is yet.
Emily Corlen vs. Crimson Ghost
Emily Corlen, the woman who briefly won the BWF World Championship for the first time in her career in the main event of WrestleFest VI just one week ago, was the first individual out in this contest, which pit her against what was originally the masked alter ego of her fiancee's father, then her fiancee himself. This time around, no one has a clue who is under the Crimson Ghost's mask, and on this night, no questions would be answered.
As Emily awaited the arrival of the Ghost for their scheduled match, the lights in the arena cut out and the entire arena turned a crimson hue, washing over the masses. Bits of Crimson Ghost's theme played, interspersed with torturous screams of agony and loud static. Images of the iconic Crimson Ghost mask flashed across the BlazenTron, and after nearly thirty seconds of this, the screen settles on the mask, followed by an ear piercing scream. The lights came back on and smoke began pouring out of all four turnbuckles. As Emily cautiously surveyed her surroundings, the ring itself began shaking and moving, and suddenly, hundreds of insects of all sizes and shapes poured from the ceiling onto the Emerald Phoenix! Emily quickly freaked out and got the hell out of the ring, nearly hyperventilating as she pulled the bugs off of her skin and hair. A loud, booming laugh, no doubt belonging to the Ghost, permeated the arena as Emily headed back through the curtain, clearly distressed by what had just occurred.
WINNER: Match Never Began

A New Champion for a New Era
Back from commercial break and a quick clean up of the ring, Emily Corlen is still ringside and she's been searching under the ring. She pulls out a ladder and the fans start going crazy as it's obvious as to what she is doing. She tosses the ladder up and over the top ropes with ease and slides in beside it. She scrambles to set up the ladder and quickly starts to climb the rungs. Just seconds later she grabs the BWF World Championship and tears it off the ring holding it. She pulls a microphone out from the back of her tights and the fans don't know what to think.
Emily Corlen: In the main event of WrestleFest VI, I won this title fair and square. I am the only person to ever pin Gabe Shelley for a World Title and regardless of what happened after, the bottom line is this. This title needs to be defended. This title deserves to be around the waist of someone that is going to fight for it. Someone who CAN fight for it. Someone who will put their heart and soul and body into the company just as Gabe did for so long. That's why I am going to take this title and be the Champion that this company deserves.
The Big O: Woah, woah, woah. Go ahead and step away from the title Ms. Corlen.
The Big O starts to make his way to the ring to a chorus of boos from the crowd.
The Big O: You see, you aren't what the BWF needs. It doesn't need some overgrown, cornfed gorilla. I'll tell ya what, Sasquatch, just hand ME the title and we won't have any problems. BWF needs to be in the hands of someone that's been around and understands the history and prestige of the championship.
Emily Corlen: Oh please, old man. You can't even hold onto that Dragonzord belt and beat Triad. Just go back to your retirement home, I'm sure it's time for your pills.
Big O jumps into the ring and Corlen stands her ground. He tries to take the title from her hands and receives a hard kick to the groin for his actions as the crowd loves it! She turns him around and drops the Big O with the Catalyst (Glam Slam)! She puts her foot on his chest as the crowd chants...
One!
Two!
Three!
Corlen smiles and goes to leave the ring, title in hand as we cut back to ringside.
Nick Webb: Will someone please tell me what the hell is going on? First Shelley gives up the belt, then Corlen claims the title for herself, and why is the Big O still employed!?
Anton Chase vs. "Devastating" Damien Dunn
In one of BWF's classic 'Double Debut Matches', Both men tied up as the bell rang, with Dunn initially gaining the upper hand. He doesn't hold the advantage for long, however, as Anton Chase quickly takes the match over after countering Damien's Dunn Deal (Fireman's Carry into a Stunner) and never gives it back.
After several minutes of fairly one-sided action in which Anton utilized nearly every suplex known to mankind, Chase first stunned Dunn with a Starmaker (Vertebreaker) for a close two count, then called for and hit a picture-perfect Chaos Theory (Styles Clash) moments later for the pinfall victory and his first win in BWF!
WINNER: Anton Chase, via pinfall
Jethro Hayes vs. Triad
This match up was non-title as Triad came out of WrestleFest the Dragonzord Champion. Triad has spend the better portion of his time in BWF dominating Big O and Stryker Cloud. Hayes quickly attacked and never let Triad get going. Hayes tossed his opponent into the corner and delivered a barrage of left and right hooks to the gut of Triad. Hayes landed a hard clothesline that forced Triad to stumble out. The Southern Hero came off the ropes and landed a hard spear.
The match took a turn towards the end as Triad tried to battle back but ended up getting a kick to the gut and Hayes followed it up with the Planter (Jackknife Powerbomb) for the win.
WINNER: Jethro Hayes, via pinfall
BWF UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP
Star Diamond vs. Matt Stone ©
The main event of the evening came and the fans were ready for it. Star Diamond made his way to the ring first with the BWF Tag-Team championship in hand and waiting for Matt Stone. The defending champ came out second per tradition and got nothing but jeers on his way down. A fan on the ramp mouthed off to Stone and nearly got punched for it, the fan ducked and backed off in fear. Stone laughs and slides into the ring.
Our match started and the ring exploded with action. Stone and Diamond pushed each other back and forth and started a flurry of lefts and rights. The punches kept flying but Stone quickly spins and kicks Diamond in the gut. Stone hits the ropes and lifts his knee to meet the Tag Champ's head. Stone walks around the ring with his hands out to the side and soaks in the boos.
Stone pointed at Diamond and charged, looking for the Kneel before Zod (kick to the head) but Diamond rolled out of the way. Diamond got the upper hand after hard right hands and a standing dropkick. Diamond was quick to follow it up with a spingboard off the rope and hit a lionsault. He covered and the fans counted along.
One!
Two!
Stone kicked out and came right back in the match. Diamond tried to get an advantage by coming off the top rope as Stone was climbing to his feet. Diamond looked for a axe handle but Stone jumped up and hit the C-c-c-c-combo Breaker! (Codebreaker) He quickly rolled into the cover!
One!
Two
Thr-KICKOUT!
So close and Stone pounds the mat one time before jumping to his feet to continue his attack. He leaned over Diamond and got wrapped up in a small package but Stone quickly kicked out. Diamond locked up and looked for the Pure Sensation (Impaler DDT) but the United States champ battled out and hit another C-c-c-c-combo Breaker out of no where!
One!
Two!
Three!
WINNER AND STILL BWF UNITED STATES CHAMPION: Matt Stone, via pinfall
Stone celebrated shortly before heading up the ring as Star Diamond started to leave through the crowd. As Stone past through the curtains "In Fate's Hands" by Red Jumpsuit Apparatus began to play.
Nick Webb: Once again, will someone please tell me what the hell is going on?
Out from behind the curtains walked Gabe Shelley in a full suit. The fans erupted as he carried a microphone in hand and smiled from ear to ear.
Rayne: Nick... you don't think...
Nick Webb: I don't know WHAT to think tonight, Rayne.
Shelley stood at the top of the ramp and pointed to the microphone and the music cut out as he brought his mouth up to speak.
Gabe Shelley: So I think it's time that everyone in the BWF universe was finally introduced to the new owner. Don't you?
He lets the fans cheer for a moment before continuing.
Gabe Shelley: Let me go and grab him.
Shelley walked to the back and just a few seconds later appeared back on stage with a surprised look, yet a grin, across his face.
Gabe Shelley: Wait a minute, it's me!
The fans jump to their feet as a roar of cheers echo throughout the arena.
Gabe Shelley: I knew weeks ago that my knee wasn't quite where it needs to be and sat back and decided that it was time to take a step back. Last week I talked to Johnny Maverick and knew that if he somehow walked out of WrestleFest as the winner that I wanted to help run it. He sold it to me. Trust me, BWF is in great hands. While I love everything in the BWF and I believe in traditions but it's time for a new era. I wouldn't feel right running Havok, Dave's show, and Monday wouldn't feel right with a different show. The BWF will be moving to Thursdays starting next week, June 30th. I recently purchased the rights to a few things and you'll be seeing Thursday Night Animosity. Secondly, next week there will be an announcement about the Dragonzord Championship and it's future.
Shelley turns and points to the fans and eats up some cheers. He stops and clears his throat.
Gabe Shelley: Earlier tonight, Emily Corlen declared herself the BWF World Champion and even pinned The Big O to boot... not that that's difficult. The point is, I've given her actions some thought and I've decided that I agree with everything she said. As of this moment, I am officially recognizing Emily Corlen as your new BWF World Champion!
Nick Webb: Wow! Emily's the World Champ! Officially!
Rayne: She never should have lost it after she won it the first time, especially if Gabe knew how bad his knee was going in!
Nick Webb: It was the main event of WrestleFest... can you blame him?
Gabe Shelley: So, Emily, congratulations. Now, that may be fine and all, but I DID promise someone a title shot after WrestleFest. Emily, at Tainted Twilight you WILL be defending that title. If you want to fight as this company's Champion, you have to get through... Finale!
The fans erupt as the match is made and Shelley smiles.
Gabe Shelley: Say goodbye to Monday Night Havok... and say hello to the new era of the BWF. Everything changes, starting tonight.
We get one final shot of Gabe as we fade to black.
