Episode 159 - December 30, 2013
Nick Webb: Welcome one and all to the final edition of Monday Night Havok in 2013! We are live in Columbus, Ohio, and what a night we have in store for you all!
Rayne: It's a night of Champions, as Sovereign Champion Zoe Cooper goes one on one against Ursula Areano, International Champion Austin Scott takes on Akemi Hayashi, who is making her first in-ring appearance with BWF later tonight, and the Undisputed BWF World Champion is in action as she faces the man who, in his words, never lost the title, Finale! Plus, in the main event, four men will enter the Steel Cage to determine which of them will take on Elena Simonova in the main event of Survival of the Sickest!
The BWF Decision
“Radioactive” by Within Temptation cues up as the crowd rises to their feet for the CEO of the BWF. The very pregnant looking Emily Corlen makes her way to the stage with a smile on her face, still somehow about to pull off a pantsuit despite being pregnant. She makes her way to the ring and shakes a few hands down the ramp. She climbs up the steps to the ring and enters through the ropes. Scott Benjamin is standing by with a microphone and hands it off.
Nick Webb: Looks like we’re starting the night off with the C.E.O.!
Rayne: Always a pleasure.
Emily Corlen: Hello ladies and gentlemen of Columbus and watching at home I’m down here because during the last Havok I decided to give a second chance to someone and asked them to come be the special guest tonight. I figured there’s no reason to drag things out because I know you’re all wanting to know if this person is going to accept my proposition or not. So, AJ, I know you’re backstage so come down and let’s hear your decision.
There’s a long silence and the crowd starts to chant for AJ Adams.
Rayne: The BWF Decision and AJ is nowhere to be…-
“Lights Out!” echos throughout the arena as “Lights Out” by P.O.D. begins to play and the crowd cheers as AJ Adams finally makes his way to the stage and down the ramp. He stops on the ramp and looks around before charging the ring and sliding under the ropes and popping to his feet. The music dies down as Emily Corlen hands him his own microphone.
Emily Corlen: So I know that you accepted a stipulation at WrestleFest and it ended up costing you your job. I also know that you weren’t part of the decision of that match so that’s one of the reasons I’ve willing to give you your job back, AJ. So what do you say?
Adams doesn’t respond right away and just looks around with arena as the crowd cheers for him to accept the proposition given to him.
Rayne: Take it!
Nick Webb: He took that match and what came with it due to his pride so why would he look past that now and take his job back?
AJ Adams clears his throat as he finally goes to speak.
AJ Adams: I’ve spent the past few weeks thinking over the offer, Em, but I can’t accept it as it. If I’m coming back then I’m fighting for my job.
The crowd seems confused and Corlen seems intrigued and lets him continue.
AJ Adams: It’s time to put an end to this thing with Outlaw. He wants me out of the BWF then I want him to do it himself, not the way it was done at WrestleFest. Me, Outlaw, Survival of the Sickest and a contract…
Adams points to the sky.
AJ Adams: 15 feet in the air. Winner stays and the loser goes.
The arena erupts in support as Adams smirks. Corlen nods and thinks it over.
Emily Corlen: I can’t force Outlaw into a match like that but what I can do is-
Corlen is cut off by “Sick of It” by Skillet playing for just a few seconds as Outlaw walks to the stage.
Outlaw: I accept. I’d love to be the one that causes you to never work another day in the BWF.
Outlaw drops the microphone as “Lights Out” cues back up and the crowd cheers as Corlen and Adams shake hands.
If You Want Something Done Right...
The scene fades to a screen in front of a tan backdrop. In front of the screen stands Vespertine holding a mic. She is dressed in her ring gear. She looks around and decides to start talking.
Vespertine: They just gave me this mic and told me to have fun. I asked if any of the interviewers will be interviewing me and they said "Oh, one will be along shortly." They didn't say anything else and I'm assuming while I'm waiting I can have some fun. So TA DA! (in an announcer's voice) Hailing from San Francisco, Ca, coming in at 5 feet, 5 inches, she is the Well Rounded Fighting Machine, I give to you, VESPERTINEEEEE!!!
She does the mock cheering from an audience as the real audience laughs.
Vespertine: Vespertinnnnnneeeeeee!!!!!
Suddenly she cuts that off short as Akoda Yang enters the shot. He has a mic of his own.
Akoda Yang: I see you already have mic. You come prepared. That's good. So WASSSSUUPPPPPPPPP!
He gets a wild look on his face and what he is actually saying is "what's up" but what we hear is "Wasp!" The audience gets good chuckle out of that one Vespertine just looks at him. When he stops he turns his flashy grin back on her.
Akoda Yang: What's up my sister soldier from another mother. How it hanging?
He puts a hand up in the air and indicates for her to slap it. She just looks at him.
Akoda Yang: Come on, slap me some skin sister She doesn't do so, just stares at him All right. If you are gonna leave me hanging.
Vespertine: I swear your saying something. It's supposed to be English. Buddha only knows what THAT was. OH wait! Was that Japanese? I never did understand Japanese correctly.
Akoda Yang: Street.
Vespertine: Street. Street? As in what, street slang? He nods with a big grin Which street was that from? Sesame Street? Off the corner of Candy Cane Lane and Munchkin Way?
Akoda Yang: (frowning) Never hear of either. What they like?
Vespertine groans and puts a hand on her brow.
Vespertine: Soda pop. Why are you here? They gave me the mic and told me I didn't need an interviewer.
Akoda looks at the camera.
Akoda Yang: Is that true?
Cameraman: Not really. They said to wait until one arrives. Somewhere she got it in her head to do some sort of routine when you came along. I- uh-
By now Vespertine is glaring at him with daggers in her eyes.
Vespertine: Thanks for the backup. One of these days I'll pay you back tenfold. Oh no don't thank me yet Harvey.
Cameraman: It's Joe. And people like Matt Stone get Toshi and Don McMichael.
Vespertine: Whatever. Clearly they are paying Matt Stone way too much. back to Akoda Anyway. I got this. Why are you here?
Akoda Yang: Well believe it or not, Davey B want me here to help you out with another interview. Apparently, he thought your last one was so funny that he mandate me to be your personal interviewer from now on. For comedy relief I think.
Vespertine: Wait... what?!!?!? Davey who?
Akoda Yang: David Blazenwing. And I said: well believe it or not, Davey B-
Vespertine: (exploding and ignoring the fact that David is no longer employed) I heard what you said. Does he not think I'm funny enough? Doesn't he care for straight shoot interviews?
Akoda Yang: I don't care how you shoot your interviews but evidently he thinks your funnier when I'm in it. Is that no good?
Vespertine: NO! That no good! I'm funny with or without you. I can make them laugh.
Akoda Yang: Don't quit day job. Sorry, I mean night job.
Vespertine: Are you calling me a hooker?
Akoda Yang: No, you call you a hooker. I call you a wrestler. She stills glares at him At night. Don't you wrestle at night. A night wrestler.
She is about to protest when she stops and thinks.
Vespertine: That is the first thing you said that actually makes sense. Sorta. Hmmmm good name: Night Wrestler.
She snaps back to him.
Vespertine: But that still doesn't mean I'm not funny. I'll have to talk to Emily about this and give her a piece of my mind.
Akoda Yang: (to the camera) Emily. RUN! (back to Vespertine) You want to start interview now?
Vespertine groans and sighs then shakes her head.
Vespertine: Sure. Whatever. Go stand there. Somewhere else and let me just talk. Got some stuff to say. He holds up the microphone at chest level Thank you, I got my own.
He backs off and stands behind her and smiles widely.
Vespertine: Kelly. Is THAT the best you could do? Really? Really? I've seen one liner promos better than what that was. Is that the only thing you could come up with? I knew you were desparate but I didn't know you were THAT desperate. Who would stoop so low as to mock another person and their personal life?
She looks back at Akoda who is staring at her chest and when she sees him, he looks straight at the camera and smiles widely again. She turns back and mockingly thinks for a second.
Vespertine:Oh right. That would be Kelly Keagan. The hero of team Kelly and Ian. I hope you enjoyed yourself in that... (air quotes) "promo" because that didn't help your cause any in my eyes. I see you don't care much about respect anymore. And that's fine by me because when I beat your skinny little ass black and blue all over the ring, everyone everywhere will be cheering me instead of you.
She shakes her head.
Vespertine: I'm sorry Keagan, was that promo supposed to make me mad? Really? What that promo did mostly was confuse the hell out of everyone because it made no sense. NONE! Zip zero zilch. You have to do a lot better than that to get under my skin. You have to be like Soda here. I mean all he has to do is just stand here and look at me and that gets under my skin.
He frowns thinking about this and when she turns to look at him, he is about to protest when she puts a hand up to stop him
Vespertine: Shhhh.... don't ruin the moment and say anything else.
She scoffs.
Vespertine: Wassup! Really?
He grins bigger and she turns back to the camera.
Vespertine: Thing is Kelly: I thought about doing a second promo doing a mockup of you. But then as I thought about it, that would be stooping to your level and your level is baby level. I really don't want to stoop to that level. But you and every other immature preteen out there want to see me want do that, wouldn't you? Well I won't so there. (goes into little girl mode) Oh guess what word I learned: Vajazzled! I learned that a few days ago. It was hard, YAY! Gooooo me!
She smiles and sticks her tongue out at the camera, then gets serious again.
Vespertine: But you know what I AM going to do. I'm going to give you a big beating and give you an even worse defeat.
Akoda Yang: Is that like-
He stops as she puts a hand up suddenly.
Vespertine: Moment ruined. Go stand elsewhere. You lost your standing privileges next to me.
His shoulders sink and his grin fades as he goes off screen.
Vespertine: You wanna know what's weird? That promo was harder than beating you in the ring. Beating you is easy. Defeating you will be easier. And nobody wants to see your face anymore.
Akoda Yang: (off screen) I like see Kelly's face more.
Vespertine: (Indicating Akoda off screen) And there is your only fan. Pathetic.
She shakes her head sadly.
Vespertine: Anyway, I'm starting to think the reason I'm facing you is the same reason I get him as a personal interviewer. I need to step up my A game and start making my mark on this federation. Evidently I'm one of Corlen's renters. But a good place to start is on your face. Death by diva my sweet.
She hands the mic to Akoda and walks off screen. The camera pans to him and he just stares after her. He shrugs and walks off. Camera cuts shot.
The bell rings and both ladies circle each other. Then they hook up. For a few seconds neither one gains the advantage but then bit by bit, Kelly pushes Vespertine back as she is heavier of the two women. Suddenly Vespertine breaks and Keagan smirks at her. Vespertine bows without taking her eyes off of her.
Rayne: I'm pretty sure I watched a Skinemax movie the other night that started like this. Daddy approves.
The two women hook up again but Keagan grabs Vespertine's arm and wrenches it behind her back. Vespertine tries to smash her elbow upside Keagan's head but Kelly moves her head and Vespertine misses. She wrenches again. Vespertine slaps her shoulder and then does a somersault and when she comes back up, she has a hold of Kelly's arm and is wrenching it behind her back. Kelly tries to outmuscle Vespertine to get out of the hold but Vespertine stays clamped on. Kelly does the same maneuver Vespertine did and it works. She comes up with Vespertine arm in hand and she wrenches it. The two women break.
Nick Webb: Neither woman has been able to get the advantage yet.
Vespertine suddenly executes a roundhouse kick but Kelly sees it coming and dodges it. Kelly attempts a mid-section kick but Vespertine side steps. Vespertine tries a low sweep across the mat with her leg but Kelly sees it coming and jumps. Vespertine sweeps back and Kelly jumps again. Kelly suddenly charges and kicks Vespertine in the jaw. Vespertine cries out in pain and holds her jaw. She swirls up and faces Kelly. Kelly smirks again. Vespertine takes two steps forward and gets in Kelly's face. Kelly doesn't back down. They stare eye to eye for a while until Vespertine backs up a step and slaps her across the face. When Kelly's head returns to look at her, fire is raging in her eyes.
Rayne: Ooh, I sense a catfight coming on!
Kelly charges Vespertine and Vespertine sidesteps and executes a drop over toe hold. Kelly's head bounces off the mat as she falls. Vespertine is quick to get up and put her in a modified chinlock. She holds the grip for a little bit as Kelly tries to claw her way towards the bottom rope. The referee asks if she wants to give up but she says no. Vespertine applies more pressure but Kelly starts to inch her way over to the bottom rope. Finally Vespertine has had enough, lets go of the hold, pushes Kelly's head down, stands up and then stomps on her lower back. As Kelly gets up, Vespertine goes over, grabs her hair, pulls her up and snapmares her back down. The referee gets in her face to admonish her.
Nick Webb: Vespertine has to be careful to avoid disqualification here.
Kelly struggles to get up. Vespertine sees this, pushes the referee out of the way and stalks over to Kelly, grabs her hand and Irish whips her towards the corner post. Vespertine rushes after her. When Kelly gets to the corner post, she runs up it instead of crashing into it and executes a perfect Whisper in the Wind. Vespertine crashes into the mat. As she struggles to get up, Kelly goes over and lifts her by the head, puts her in a side headlock and starts to run but before she can jump, VEspertine pushes her off. Kelly keeps running and then rebounds off the ropes. She attempts a spinning heel kick but Vespertine ducks under it, does a Rey Misterio type of roll and when she comes up she continues running the ropes, she rebounds and then both women get the same idea at the same time and attempt a clothesline. Both women crash to the mat with a thud.
Rayne: These ladies just got a crash course in wrestling! HA!
Vespertine is the first one to get up but she is followed by Kelly. While Vespertine is the first one to get up, Kelly spots Vespertine first and charges and as Vespertine is turning around and she executes a perfect tornado DDT. She quickly covers Vespertine. At 2 and a half, Vespertine kicks out. Kelly gets on her knees and looks around. She gets up, pulls Vespertine up, and then Irish whips her towards the ropes. Vespertine jumps onto the ropes at the last second and then flies off executing a Whisper in the wind. She hits Kelly on the shoulder and Kelly doesn't go down but she is hurt by that move. She whirls her arm to get feeling back in her shoulder. Vespertine gets up and we can see she is hurt too by that move as she is limping around on the mat. She turns and sees Kelly talking with the referee and he is inspecting her shoulder. Vespertine runs and executes a perfect Cartwheel bomb which ends with her between Kelly's legs and Kelly's shoulders flat on the mat. She covers Kelly for the pin.
Nick Webb: Cover! Will this be three?
At 2, Kelly kicks out but struggles to get up. Vespertine backs up and charges and attempts a clothesline but Kelly ducks under it, runs the ropes, rebounds and executes an off the rope hurricanrana which sends Vespertine flying across the ring. Kelly executed the move but it is Vespertine that gets up first. She stalks over to Kelly, grabs her hair and then snapmares her over. The referee admonishes her but she ignores him, she gets on top of Kelly and locks in a reverse bridging chin lock. Kelly screams out in pain. The referee asks if she wants to give up but she says no. She stops clawing at Vespertine's hands and starts to slowly crawl over to the ropes. She is only inches away from reaching the ropes. Vespertine adjusts her hold locking it in tighter but this is all Kelly needs to move the last few inches and grab the bottom rope. The referee tells Vespertine who keeps it locked on. He then goes for the 5 count and at 4 she lets go.
Rayne: Vespertine is really stretching the referee's patience here tonight.
Vespertine sits on the mat looking around and Kelly struggles to get up. Vespertine quickly gets up and runs across the ring to climb up the corner post. By this time Kelly has turned around and sees Vespertine. She stands there looking around trying to figure what she'll do next. Kelly shrugs and then charges towards Vespertine. Vespertine launches herself and Kelly jumps and connects with a flying drop kick right to Vespertine's stomach high in midair, both women crashing hard on the mat.
Nick Webb: Ohh! That one hurt just to watch!
Both women lay stunned on the mat as the referee starts the 10 count.

Both women stand straight up, the referee continues the match. Vespertine staggers forward and launches a mean right to Kelly's temple. Kelly staggers back a few steps holding her head, then charges forward and punches Vespertine in the temple. This goes back and forth for a few minutes until Vespertine changes to a chest chop ala Flair. Kelly does the same but Vespertine has more power behind her and backs her up against the ropes. Each time they do this, the crowd goes "WOOOO!"
Rayne: WOOO! That's so catchy!
Vespertine grabs Kelly's hand and Irish whips her towards the far ropes. She attempts a clothesline but Kelly ducks and immediate executes a Float Over DDT. Kelly looks around and finally spies a post closest to her. She climbs up and looks around. She then jumps up and out into a corkscrew which finally ends in a moonsault. She lands on top of Vespertine but bounces off in pain. Vespertine knows it's coming and rolls through it finally ending up on top of Kelly near the ropes. She puts Kelly in a tight schoolboy roll-up. The referee starts the three count, at 2, Vespertine puts a free hand on the bottom rope for leverage which the referee doesn't see. At 3, Vespertine immediately lets go and the referee raises her hand in the air for a victory.
WINNER: Vespertine, via Pinfall
In an incredibly close contest, Austin Scott barely ekes out a win over Akemi Hayashi. After the match, Akemi and Austin shake hands out of respect. Akemi tries to use the opportunity to grab Austin's hat, but Austin is quick on the draw and escapes with his hat intact... for now.
WINNER: Austin Scott, via Pinfall
Zoe and Ursula waste no time and hook up. They get into a double headlock and for a few seconds neither gain the advantage. Then Zoe starts pushing Ursula back into the corner. Ursula lets go and puts her hands up. The referee sees this and backs Zoe away. He gets out from between them and Zoe goes to stalk over to Ursula but Ursula is quicker and kicks her in the midsection. Then just as fast, she grabs Zoe's head and DDT's her to the mat.
Nick Webb: Nasty DDT from the Argentinian beauty! The Sovereign Champion looks dazed, and we're only moments into this contest!
Ursula gets on top of Zoe and puts her in a chinlock. For a while Zoe struggles to grasp the bottom rope then she starts clawing the mat and slowly making her way over to the rope. Ursula sees this too late and applies pressure but Zoe grabs the bottom rope. The referee sees this and tells Ursula to get off. Ursula shoves her head down before getting up and stomping her in the middle of her back and walk away. Zoe is quick to get up and by now there is fire in her eyes. She charges and attempts a flying clothesline, Undertaker style but Ursula sees it and ducks under it and then charges the ropes herself, rebounds and attempts a spinning heel kick but Zoe backs up and Ursula lands on her feet but Zoe charges forward and clotheslines her to the mat.
Rayne: And just like that, Cooper is back in the hunt! Wow!
Zoe goes over to Ursula, pulls her up and Irish whips her to the corner post. She then charges and jumps onto the second rope and starts pounding away on Ursula's head, the audience counts along as she does so.

Zoe pauses at 6, looks around at the audience with a big smile and then finishes by giving Ursula one last punch which the audience cheers. She gets off the ropes and Ursula walks forward and then falls face first to the mat. Zoe goes over to her, picks her up by the hair and snapmares her over. The referee admonishes her but Zoe doesn't listen. She then covers Ursula for the pin.
Nick Webb: Zoe showcasing some of the killer instinct she's picked up teaming with our Undisputed BWF World Champion.
At the 2 count, Ursula kicks out. Zoe gets on her knees and looks around. She gets up, picks Ursula up and irish whips her towards the far ropes. She then runs the ropes herself and on the rebound attempts a flying body press but Ursula sees it coming, catches her and powerslams her to the mat. She then covers Zoe for the pin. At 2 and a half, Zoe puts a leg up on the bottom rope. The referee sees this and stops counting but tells Ursula who gets in his face and shouts for him to count faster.
Rayne: Quick thinking there from Cooper, who nearly lost her first match just then!
Ursula then turns around to stalk over Zoe but is met with a "Kickin it Old School" (Numerous Karate-style Kicks in a Row). Ursula takes the first one, blocks the second one and dodges and weaves the next few. When Zoe is finally done, she sees the opportunity and attempts a clothesline but Zoe instead tries a hip toss which Ursula blocks. Ursula tries one of her own but Zoe blocks it. They smile at each other and then extricate themselves. Both women get the same idea at once and run the ropes. On the rebound, both put their arms out and give each a clothesline. Both women go down hard and the referee starts the 10 count.
Nick Webb: A double clothesline and both women are down! Who's going to take advantage here?
At the 5 count, Zoe is up first and is soon followed by Ursula. She runs over to Zoe and punches her in the temple. Zoe staggers back but finds energy in her reserve and punches Ursula back. This goes on for a minute or so with neither gaining the advantage and the audience cheering and booing when each strike hits. Finally, Zoe ducks under one punch from Ursula, goes behind her, jumps, clamps on her back and falls backwards into a Codebreaker which she them turns into a rear naked choke hold. Ursula struggles and screams out in pain, the referee asks if she wants to give up but she says no. Then she ceases struggling.
Rayne: Is Areano about to tap out here? Sometimes discretion is the better part of valor!
Ursula slowly reaches up and rakes Zoe's eyes which forces Zoe to let go of her hold. Ursula immediately rolls away and out of the ring. Zoe calls the referee over to have him look at her. He does so and he shrugs and claims it's all right. Meanwhile Ursula has crawled into the ring and when the referee has finished looking at her eye, she turns around... right into a Buenos Aires Superkick (Sweet Chin Music). Zoe goes down hard having been knocked out. Ursula sees this and gloats a little bit, taunting the audience by bowing to them and indicating that Zoe's sovereign title is as good as hers. The crowd gives a mixed reaction with more boos than cheers this time. She then looks around, spies the corner post and goes over to climb up it. She stands up tall and looks around, then points at Zoe and then goes for a "Death from Above" (Shooting Star Press transitioned into a Leg Drop in mid-air) but at the last second, Zoe moves and Ursula crashes onto the mat hard.
Nick Webb: Cooper dodges! Ursula hits the mat hard! Who's going to take advantage of this?
Both women struggle to get up but Zoe is up first while Ursula uses the ropes to struggle up. Zoe stalks over to Ursula, whips her around and clamps on the Z Clamp, shifts her weight backwards and then they both fall to the mat where Zoe clamps on the rest of the Z Clamp (a Dragon Sleeper with scissor). The referee raises her hand once, it falls. He raises it twice. It falls. He raises it a third time... and it falls! The bell rings - this match is over!
WINNER: Zoe Cooper, via Submission
Following the match, the lights go out and unfamiliar music begins playing. When the lights return, newly-signed BWF Superstar Alex Richards is in the ring with Ursula and Zoe! He takes a step toward Zoe, but then turns around and lays out Ursula instead. As Zoe gets out of dodge, Richards beats down Ursula before wrapping a chair around her neck and stomping down hard on it. Ursula begins coughing up blood as EMTs swarm the ring and check on the injured woman. Alex Richards takes in the carnage to a swath of boos from the Columbus crowd as he stares down the Sovereign Champion, who has made her way to the stage.
You Can Always Go Home Again
The lights slowly dim down until it's pitch black and the low guitar strumming of "In Fate's Hands" by Red Jumpsuit Apparatus rolls throughout the arena. Three spotlights shine and revolve around as if searching for someone, and the fans are on their feet, cheering in anticipation for the hometown boy. At the nine second mark the song rocks into life with a loud “GO!” as red, white and blue pyros shoot outward with controlled chaos from the entrance stage for seven straight seconds. By the end of it, the three spotlights have aimed at the stage and await the arrival of a great fan favorite.
I remember a year ago
I was standing in the crowd
Waiting for my chance to break through
My chance to live again
At last Gabe Shelley comes running out to the stage with energy and pounds his chest in excitement to the roar of the crowd. He slides into the spotlight aimed at the entrance, wearing a Ryan Johansen Columbus Blue Jackets jersey that the crowd in Columbus eats up. Shelley starts to make his way down towards the ring and gives out a bunch of high fives with fans at ringside. He slides into the ring and jumps to the middle turnbuckle on the far side of the ring and points out towards the fans. Shelley jumps back down to the mat and is handed a microphone by Scott Benjamin who then leaves the ring.
Gabe Shelley: Columbus!
The crowd roars as Shelley looks around excitedly.
Gabe Shelley: I thought I’d come celebrate my birthday in front of the home crowd and at first I was going to just grab a seat and enjoy the show but the more I thought about it, the more I wanted to take a few moments to say a few things to a few people and as you can guess Emily owes me a few favors after WrestleFest so I’m cashing one in.
Shelley paces around the ring a little before looking up the ramp as if he’s talking to someone backstage.
Gabe Shelley: There are people in the back that fight for the fans and the love of what this is all about, there are some who fight with pride, but then there are a few that fight for all the wrong reasons. Guys like Outlaw that believe things should be handed to them. There are people that don’t respect anyone because they feel no one is on their level. Then there’s David Blazenwing.
There’s a loud boo from the fans in Columbus as Shelley mentions Blazenwing.
Gabe Shelley: There’s a man that after he didn’t get what he wanted he superkicked Casey Campbell because he lost. I know Casey called Dave out last week but this is about so much more. Over the past few months, even leading up to WrestleFest, I’ve been a free agent of sorts. I haven’t been a contracted wrestler anywhere and when that happens to someone who has done this for as long as I have you start to get an itch that needs scratched. You start to compete. Then I got a taste at Legacy X, then again at WrestleFest, and the more I thought about it the more I wanted at least one more match.
The fans start to cheer as Shelley smiles and looks around.
Gabe Shelley: Dave.
There’s a loud pop before he can even finish that causes him to pause.
Gabe Shelley: These fans want to see it, the fans at home would love to see it, and I want it. Blazenwing, you and me. Name the time and place and let’s tango. I never know when my last match will be and I can think of a hundred reasons that if my last match is soon then I want it be against you. Call it a challenge, calling you out, I don’t care how you classify it. I know you’ll take your time deciding what to do and that’s fine.
“Sick of It” by Skillet starts to play as Shelley stops and looks back up the ramp again as the crowd begins to boo as Outlaw makes his way to the stage with a microphone. He quickly calls for his music to cut with his hand and pulls the microphone up.
Outlaw: No hometown love for me too?
There’s a small group of Outlaw supporters but there’s mainly a large boo as he just paces back and forth on the top of the ramp.
Outlaw: It’s already been an exciting night and then we get the one and only Gabe Shelley?
Outlaw acts excited before just shaking his head with a scoff.
Outlaw: Saying nothing of importance and yet these fans eat it up. We all heard that you were going to be here tonight. Not that we couldn’t have guessed it because you can’t resist the chance to show your face in front of a crowd. So I decided to get you a birthday present since today is your birthday after all.
Outlaw snaps as the lights go out and the crowd starts to stir. A few moments later the lights come back up there are two men in the ring wearing half ski masks with a skull design and Outlaw directing traffic from the outside. They rush Shelley and back him into the corner and begin to brutally assault him with hard lefts and rights. Outlaw cheers them on as the crowd boos. The taller man pulls Shelley out of the corner and drops him with a clothesline in the middle of the ring. Shelley climbs to his feet and ducks an incoming big boot and jumps at the smaller thug and connects with a forearm. He turns and starts to land lefts and rights on the other man before getting knocked down from behind by Outlaw. Outlaw screams at Shelley and pulls him to his feet and holds him up. Shelley ducks another big boot and pushes Outlaw away and drops the big man with the Fallout (Zig Zag) as the crowd pops. The other man and Outlaw drop out of the ring as Shelley grabs the taller man once again and is able to lift him to his shoulders and drops him with the reVolt (Cradle Shock). He rolls him out of the ring and yells at Outlaw to send that message to Blazenwing.
Much like her tag team partner/protege not long before, the Undisputed BWF World Champion Elena Simonova makes quick work of former BWF World Champion Finale, making him tap out to a surprisingly positive reception from the Columbus BWF fans. Rayne comments that "I don't think Finale can claim to be the undefeated BWF World Champ anymore!" as Elena holds both of her Championships high in the air and glances at the cage high above her head, a cage that will soon help decide her fate at Survival of the Sickest.
WINNER: Elena Simonova, via Submission
Coming Soon on Pay-Per-View
All four men in this match fought valiantly, but there could only be one winner. Right? Well, one of the caveats of a cage match is that there are multiple ways to win - so what happens when two men take advantage of two different ways to win at the same time? Such was the case at this steel cage match drew to a close. Matt Stone, confident that the match is his, opens the cage door and begins to step out to win - but he doesn't count on a bloody Brian Cade catching his foot and holding him in place. As Stone fights to free himself from Cade's grasp, Casey Campbell and Toco make their way up the side of the cage, fighting to escape over the top of the structure. Stone, frustrated, steps back into the ring and picks up Cade before dropping him with a C-C-C-C-Combo Breaker. He turns back to the door as Toco crashes to the mat and steps outside, unaware that Campbell is already over the top. Stone touches down on the floor as Campbell drops from the top of the cage, and as the bell rings, two referees declare two winners to this match.

The BWF Decision, Redux
BWF C.E.O. Emily Corlen heads out to the stage, and calls for an official replay. Said replay is too close to call, although it almost appears as though Stone might have stepped down just a half a second before Casey landed. As the results are too inconclusive to call, Emily says that since both men escaped the cage, both men will face Elena Simonova for the Undisputed Title at Survival of the Sickest. It's going to be a special match, one where the goal is not to escape, but to survive... appropriate for the event. Matt Stone, Casey Campbell and Elena Simonova will do battle inside the Hell in a Cell structure at Survival of the Sickest, and the winner - or rather, survivor - of that match, will have truly earned their place as the Undisputed World Champion of the BWF. The show ends as Casey leans against the cage and sighs, while Stone kicks the side of the ring and scowls in Corlen's direction as the final event of 2013 fades to the BWF logo, and then to black.
