Episode 157 - November 11, 2013
Nick Webb: The Blazenwing Wrestling Federation has returned home to Milwaukee, Wisconsin! We are live tonight from the BMO Harris Bradley Center on this, the final stop before WrestleFest VII!
Rayne: And we're going full steam into the biggest pay-per-view of the year, Nick! We have two huge tag team matches with Championship implications for Houston, plus, AJ Adams faces Emperor Ian in what could be both men's final appearances on Monday Night Havok - more on that a little bit later! We also have so much more for you all tonight, don't you dare change that channel!
The Past Decides The Future
The lights slowly dim down until its pitch black and the low guitar strumming of "In Fate's Hands" by Red Jumpsuit Apparatus rolls throughout the arena. Three spotlights shine and revolve around as if searching for someone, and the fans are on their feet, cheering in anticipation for the hero they know is coming. At the ten second mark when the song rocks into life, red, white and blue pyros shoot outward with controlled chaos from the entrance stage for seven straight seconds. By the end of it, the three spotlights have aimed at the stage and await the arrival of a great fan favorite. Gabe Shelley steps from behind the curtains in his wrestling trunks and a t-shirt as the fans in Milwaukee roar.
Nick Webb: It has been some time since Gabe Shelley was in front of these fans in Milwaukee and they’re giving him a standing ovation.
Rayne: Some of his best matches were in this very arena.
Shelley points out to the fans as he makes his way down the ramp and up into the ring. He motions for Scott Benjamin to toss him a microphone and he does. Shelley walks around the ring as the music dies down but the fans don’t at first. He gives them a few moments before starting to talk.
Gabe Shelley: Last week we all heard Emily Corlen come out here and announce that I’m going to represent her inside this ring at WrestleFest VII. We learned that I’ll be going one on one against Casey Campbell and we all know what is on the line in that match. The one thing we didn’t learn on the last Havok was to why it’s me. When I heard about the match Jen came up with I called Emily and told her that I was there if she needed me.
Shelley pauses and looks around the arena and bites the inside of his cheek.
Gabe Shelley: I know the kind of man that Dave Blazenwing is. I’ve known Dave for a very long time and I used to stand behind him 100%, much like Casey and Outlaw do now. When I did it though it was because Dave believed in the good of the BWF, he believed in what was best for the fans, because when it came down to it, for me, it wasn’t about which title I held or what matches I won. I came out here week after week and did it all for each and every single one of you.
He points out to the fans and slowly spins around as they cheer and Shelley clears his throat.
Gabe Shelley: Now, Dave is only concerned about himself and writing his own story. He’s lost track of who is once was and the person that is better for the BWF in the long run is none other than Emily Corlen.
“Berzerk” by Eminem starts to play as Shelley starts to smile, the fans boo, and Casey Campbell walks out onto the stage in some street clothes. He flexes at the top of the ramp as he gives Shelley a “what’s up” nod and makes his way to the ring. He has a microphone in hand and starts talking as he’s still on his way to the ring.
Casey Campbell: Oh, Gabe, you couldn’t be more wrong, buddy. You know all the great and amazing things that Dave has done for this company. What do you think is going to happen after WrestleFest and Emily is left in charge? We’ll see nothing but Elena Simonova at the top and all of the other Emily Corlen butt kissers.
Casey makes his way up the steps and into the ring.
Casey Campbell: With Dave in charge we’ll see real competitive matches, matches that excite, matches with ME!
The fans start to boo Casey as he just laughs it off.
Casey Campbell: Not that we have anything to worry about because you aren’t going to win at WrestleFest, Gabe. Maybe I’ll have MC hide under the ring and shock you with a cattle prod for old time's sakes.
The fans don’t seem to like that and neither does Gabe as he steps towards Casey.
Nick Webb: Casey referring to a match they had where MC used a cattle prod on Gabe while Casey was able to pin Cody Galle for the RXW World Championship.
Gabe Shelley: Because you’re going to beat me, Casey? Your head surely has gotten bigger as time has gone by. There’s a reason that Dave didn’t pick you to be his champion, even I can see that. You’re the number two guy.
Casey Campbell: At least I’m still his guy. That’s what your issue is, Gabe. You’re mad that Dave doesn’t want you as his guy anymore.
The two men push their chests together and drop their microphones and keep trash talking each other and neither back down.
Jen Corlen: Alright, boys, that’s enough.
Jen Corlen walks onto the stage and the fans aren’t very pleased she’s not letting them fight.
Jen Corlen: The last thing I need is for one of you to gain some sort of advantage going into WrestleFest and the people you represent claim it’s unfair and I have to deal with that. You want to fight, save it for WrestleFest.
Casey Campbell just laughs at Gabe Shelley and pushes him off and steps through the nearest set of ropes. Shelley tells Campbell he’ll see him in two weeks as his music cues up.
The two opponents circle each other. Maverick gives a lazy smile and offers his hand for her to shake it. She looks at it and takes it and they both shake hands.
Nick Webb: Johnny Maverick may be the King of Controversy, but he's still a gentleman between the ropes.
Rayne: Until you give him a reason not to be.
They continue to circle each other. Suddenly Circa whips into action and goes low but Johnny sidesteps and pushes her away. She quickly spins around and faces him, bouncing on her feet as she does so. He stops and looks at her with a bemused smirk on his face and then looks to the audience. Suddenly he whirls into action and attempts a clothesline but she ducks and rolls, kips up and runs the ropes. On the rebound, he catches her in Float over DDT. She goes down but she is quick to get back up. She runs the ropes and rebounds and attempts a clothesline. He staggers a little bit then looks down at himself and then mockingly brushes his chest off. She runs the ropes again and tries again. Same effect.
Nick Webb: Circa, surprisingly, not having any luck taking Maverick down here. I say surprisingly after the way she manhandled... er, womanhandled? BioCyde at Retribution.
She tries a third time but he charges and executes a perfect OF!MF! [Oh F**k! My Face!] (A Running Shotei [Palm Strike to the Face]). She goes down holding her nose in pain. He goes over to her, picks her up and Irish whips her towards the corner post. He follows her, gets on the middle ropes and starts wailing away on her forehead. Half of the audience cheers him as he does this, the other half boos him. He looks up with a smirk and shrugs. He fires off one last one and gets off the ropes. She staggers forward and falls face first on the mat. He covers her for the pin. At 2 and 3 quarters she kicks out weakly.
Rayne: Circa kicks out, but she's clearly hurting.
He must smell blood in the water for he picks her up and looks to be setting her up for something big, but suddenly, the lights in the arena go out! The crowd starts buzzing in confusion as "Forever Down" by Black Label Society starts playing. The lights slowly come back on and we see a hooded figure pacing back and forth on the ramp, a sledgehammer slung over his shoulder.
Nick Webb: Who in the world is that?
The figure slowly makes his way down to the ring as both Johnny and Circa watch warily. He reaches onto the apron and pulls himself up before stepping into the ring, his hood still covering his face. The figure sets the sledgehammer down on the mat and stares at both Maverick and Circa before, without warning, he slaps his hand around Circa's throat! Maverick instinctually defends Circa, but the figure catches him with a goozle as well. He pushes Maverick and Circa back towards the center of the ring before lifting both superstars up and hitting a double chokeslam on both of them! The crowd starts booing loudly as the figure reaches up and pulls his hood down to reveal...
Rayne: No way! That's...
Nick Webb: That's BRIAN CADE! What the hell is he doing here?!
Maverick rolls out of the ring, grabbing his throat and coughing as the referee calls for the bell, throwing the match out.
WINNER: No Contest
In the ring, Cade reaches down and picks up his sledgehammer before measuring Circa. She slowly starts to come to and Cade wastes little time, slamming the hammer hard into her back as she reaches one knee. The shot just about knocks Circa out cold, inciting more boos from the crowd.
Rayne: Dammit, somebody stop this!
Cade lifts the hammer high above his head, looking like he's going to hit Circa with another hammer shot to finish her off, but before he can, a recovered Maverick charges back into the ring, attacking Cade! The crowd pops loudly as Cade reels - if only for a moment - before vacating the ring and making his way back up the ramp. A loud "Johnny" chant fills the BMO Harris Bradley Center as Maverick leans over the top rope, daring Cade to step back inside. Cade makes his way to the top of the stage and points the sledgehammer at Johnny as he rakes his thumb across his throat with his free hand.
Nick Webb: So many unanswered questions right now! Why is Brian Cade back? Why did he attack Johnny Maverick and Circa?
Rayne: I don't think we're gonna have to wait long to find out, Nick! I've just received word from backstage that Brian Cade will be going one on one with Johnny Maverick at WrestleFest VII in two weeks... in a No Holds Barred Match!
Nick Webb: Wow! I can't wait to see who comes out on top when these two institutions go head to head!
Ian vs. Adams: The Challenge
Nick Webb: Welcome back from commercial, folks. Later tonight, Emperor Ian and AJ Adams will be facing one another in a highly anticipated singles match. However, the match got a stipulation added to it by Ian himself a few days ago and... well, we'll just show you what to expect tonight, in case you missed it earlier this week on the BWF website.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Emperor Ian: So this week, I’m scheduled to face AJ Adams, a guy wayyyyy the fuck outta my league. He was the champ not too long ago. And he just may be champ again in three weeks. Now, there is a stipulation in that match. If Adams doesn’t win the belt, then he will have to leave the BWF forever. That’s a hell of a lot of pressure to put yourself under. He could have turned the match down, and not had to worry about his career. However, his honor and ambition and whatever...they wouldn’t let him turn this offer down.
Ian taps the table in thought.
Emperor Ian: So with the biggest match of his career coming up soon, he probably can’t find it too easy to get fired up about this weekend’s match with a midcard nobody like me. Our fight won’t mean much in the long run. Win or lose, he’ll still be facing Elena and Outlaw in the main event of WrestleFest, risking his BWF career for another run with the world title. I suppose that if I were to win this Monday, and he were to win the title two weeks later, then I could make a case for being #1 contender. But let’s be realistic, that shit ain’t gonna happen. I’m gonna lose, and he’ll probably lose too. Not that he isn’t good enough or anything, AJ just has far less political pull than his opponents. Emily likes Elena, Dave likes Outlaw, and nobody likes him.
Ian goes over to the bed and plops down.
Emperor Ian: So anyway, I think that it’s best that after this match, I take off for a while. If by some miracle I pull off the upset this week, I’ll reconsider. However, if and when I fail again, I will leave the fed and find some other place to make money. Probably just do PWA full time, seeing as that idiot Eli Storm still thinks I’m under contract. In a way, I guess I’m doing what my opponent will be doing at the pay per view. Except people will notice and care if he disappears.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
AJ Adams: You’re a joke, Ian. I’ve spent all this week trying to figure out what I wanted to say to you and those are the words that I HAVE to say. The thing is though you know you’re a joke. You’re here as filler for the guys who actually hold the BWF up on its shoulders. I hold this company up higher than you do and I only have one good shoulder right now!
AJ shakes his head in disgust.
AJ Adams: You “might as well just leave” when and if you lose this match this week? How about I make it so you CAN’T stick around? I’m in some sort of mood this week and with the BWF World Championship in my sight you might think that I’m going to overlook you, but I won’t, Ian. I’m going to look right at you this week and I’m going to tear you from limb from limb. The words “lights out” won’t just be my catchphrase. This week it’ll be the truth for you. On your career, on your life. By the end of Havok they’ll have to carry you out of the building because you’ll be done.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Nick Webb: There you have it, folks. Emperor Ian has sworn that if he cannot defeat AJ Adams tonight, his BWF career is over. I have to ask you, Rayne, did Ian make the right call here?
Rayne: No, and I'll tell you why. The only time you put your career on the line is when you don't want to be where you are anymore. Adams, his career being on the line at WrestleFest? That's a whole different ballgame. For one, that wasn't his idea. For two, it was to compete in the main event of BWF's Super Bowl, a spot that hundreds of pro wrestlers will never get to opportunity to be in. Even with all of that in mind, I still don't fully agree with AJ putting his career up at the big show, but at least I get it. Ian, though? He's throwing his BWF career away on a whim. It tells me he doesn't want to be here, Nick.
Nick Webb: So, you don't think it was Ian's way of attempting to light a fire under himself?
Rayne: It seems to me it's more like Ian's way of lighting himself on fire, and tonight, Adams is going to piss on the ashes. I've defended Ian more than anybody in the history of pro wrestling during his BWF run, but with the mindset he's got going into this match? There's no way he walks out of Milwaukee with an active BWF contract.
Nick Webb: Thank you for the insight, Rayne. That match is coming up later tonight, folks, but right now, we've got tag team action in store for you!
The bell sounds to signal the start of the match as Jonathan Cage and Austin Scott are set to start us off for their respective teams. The two begin to circle each other before Cage starts to trash talk Scott before catching him off guard with a forearm across the head and Cage quickly gets him off his feet with a tackle. He begins to hammer on the International Champion who throws up his arms to block a few of the shots. Cage jumps to his feet and is quick to come off the ropes and looks for an elbow drop but Scott rolls out of the way and pops to his feet. Cage charges and runs right into a big spinebuster from Scott who immediately pops back to his feet.
Nick Webb: Austin Scott able to quickly recover from the fast start from Jonathan Cage and get the upper hand.
Rayne These two young guns in Austin Scott and Zoe Cooper could end up having great careers here within the BWF.
Scott pulls Cage back to his feet and the two men lock up and Cage is lifted for a stalling suplex that Scott shows off some strength by holding him for around ten seconds. Scott makes the tag to Cooper as she goes to get into the ring and Scott holds the ropes for her as she smiles. Cage is too his feet and turns right into a Roundabout (Spinning Heel Kick) from Cooper. Cage hits the mat and sits up and gets places into a sleeper hold right in the middle of the ring. The fans cheer Cooper on as Cage tries to fight out and slowly starts to fade. The referee checks on Cage and hits arm falls once.
Nick Webb: This might be overly quickly as Cage looks shaken up after that kick to the head.
Cage doesn’t let his arm fall a second time and is able to get his leg under himself and start to stand but Cooper refuses to let go. Cage pushes off his feet as he gets them both under him and drives Cooper back first into the corner. Cage rolls forward and tags in Ursula Areano. Areano jumps over the top ropes and comes out fast towards Cooper hits a splash in the corner and points out to the crowd as they boo. She goes for another splash but eats the bottom of Cooper’s boot to the delight of the fans as she grabs Areano off the mat and tosses her into her teams’ corner and tags in Scott. Scott drives a knee into the gut of Areano as the two send her off the ropes and Scott and Cooper connect with a double back body drop.
Nick Webb: Scott and Cooper showing a good ability to work together.
Rayne: They’ll have to if they want to get through the next couple weeks.
Scott pulls Areano back to her feet sets her up for a double underhook and turns it into a powerbomb that rocks the entire ring. Scott looks over at Cage, who is still holding the side of his head, to make sure he hasn’t tried to enter the ring. Scott climbs to the second rope and sizes up Areano and looks for a leg drop but she rolls out of the way. The International Champion lands on his feet and comes off the ropes. He ducks a clothesline attempt from Areano and hits the ropes again and comes back with a big spear. Scott makes a tag back to Cooper who slowly gets into the ring and approaches Areano and gets a rake to the eyes. Areano rolls and able to make a tag to Cage who gets into the ring.
Nick Webb: Areano showing some ring awareness there and was able to make a much needed tag.
Rayne: And here comes Cage.
Cage hits a kick to the gut of Cooper and quickly tries to lock her into the Black Death (Half Nelson Choke with Body Scissors) but Cooper tries to fight it as Scott cheers her on. She’s able to use her smaller size to roll forward and flip Cage forward and he releases. As he goes to stand he is hit with a hard karate kick to the chest, then another to the back, then one to his arm, and Cooper finishes off her Kicking It Old School set with a hard buzzsaw kick to the side of the head. She pulls Cage over as he falls face first and makes the cover, but only gets two as Areano is there to break up the pin attempt. The referee is able to get her out of the ring rather quickly and Cooper makes another tag to Scott who walks around Cage who is slowly getting to his feet. Areano comes flying off the top rope and Scott catches her and drops her straight on her head with the Ace in the Hole (Rikishi Driver) as the fans pop!
Rayne: Woah!
Nick Webb: Ace in the Hole out of nowhere!
Rayne: I can’t believe he caught her right out of the air.
Cage is back to his feet as Areano is rolled out of the ring by Scott. Cage looks for the Shadow Kick (Superkick) but Scott ducks under it and makes a tag to Cooper. Scott hits a kick to gut on Cage and sets him up for the Law and Order (Pumphandle Slam) but holds him on his shoulder. Cooper comes off the ropes and jumps up and hits the ‘Coop’ de Etat (Running DDT)! Scott gives her a bow and motions as if he wants her to take the cover and he holds his fingers up and counts with the referee and the fans. 1! 2! 3! The Sovereign and International Champions are victorious!
WINNERS: Austin Scott and Zoe Cooper, via pinfall
"Emergency" by Paramore starts playing over the BlazenTron in the arena as Zoe and Austin celebrate in the ring. Austin holds Zoe's arm up in victory before both superstars hit the corners, posing for the fans.
Nick Webb: The Sovereign and International Champions win in their first time tagging together! They have to feel better about their chances at WrestleFest right now, Rayne.
Rayne: Certainly, if the two of them can do in Houston what they did tonight, Vespertine and Elizabeth Davis are going to have a very difficult time walking out of WrestleFest with the gold.
Kayfabe is Fun
We cut backstage where Elizabeth Davis is standing backstage in the interview area, but as an experienced interviewer herself, she doesn’t need the help of anyone else to get her points across. She has a velvet red poppy on the chest of her attire to show respect for the Canadian holiday, Remembrance Day.
Elizabeth Davis: I never thought I would be jealous of Emperor Ian, but here I am right before main eventing my first Havok ever and I find myself wishing I had Ian’s match, instead. Some deal he got, really. He loses to me and gets a one on one match against AJ Adams, a World Title contender and a real opportunity to bolster his status here in the BWF leading up to the biggest show of the year. At least, you would think that would be a good thing for Ian, but looking back at the history of this company, Ian is screwed. How you ask...well sit right there kiddies and let Auntie Liz tell you a little bit of a story.
Elizabeth Davis: August 26th, 2013 was the last time, in this company, that I had a one on one match. Over two months ago, and my next two matches here in BWF are already decidedly tag matches. Three months of teaming with idiot after moron after ass kisser and don’t get it twisted, this week is no better. I dreamt I was haunted by the ghost of Teddy Long, then woke up and realized that he isn’t dead...yet. So I don’t know what has gone horribly wrong with my career, but this is unacceptable. I have half a mind to just not worry about this match at all, I mean, as my “partner” has already explained, it’s essentially meaningless. Win or lose, the WrestleFest card has already been announced, at least as far as the four of us are concerned. This is just a generic tag match to tease conflict, probably the laziest of all the booking decisions, but that’s Jen’s motivation. She’s very much a seat filler and she knows it. She’s been in charge for what, a month? And she’s already repeating herself, for the second Pay-Per-View in a row she’s letting Zoe defend the Sovereign title in a tag match. How is anyone meant to take that title seriously when it’s being used as a gimmick? It’s disgraceful and I assure you, will not happen when I wear it. But I’ll talk more about that in the upcoming weeks, right now I want to address another topic, namely the General Manager position.
Elizabeth Davis: Both David Slayton and Emily Corlen have proven themselves to be equally incompetent when it comes to running this show recently, I’m sure we all agree with that. If one was clearly ahead of the other, they would be in charge right now and this whole controversy wouldn’t be an issue. Rather than have an election or someone be choses based on merits, instead we’re going to have a match! How exciting, eh? Yeah, I know, but still, Jen Corlen in her infinite wisdom has deemed this the best way to have an authority figure put in place. I will say that at least she didn’t have this be a match between the two of them, as putting a pregnant Emily in the ring would have been barbaric, but she’s already done that to herself so what do I know? Of course, neither one of them thought to give me a call, but I can’t say that surprised me, however I was a little flabbergasted that Emily selected someone not even employed by the company. That seems to me like cheating, but it just goes to show you what kind of General Manager Emily will be. Rather than feature the wrestlers that have been working here week in and week out, she goes and finds someone off the street and just puts them in a high profile match. For that reason, I’m cheering for the Xenophobic, nerd-bashing Casey Campbell to win.
Elizabeth Davis: But again, that’s WrestleFest and this is Havok. I suppose I should be excited about the chance to best two World champions at the same time, but really, it’s not that big of a deal. The Crisis World title is a joke, plain and simple. Absolutely terrible idea from the brain trust that brought us the return of the Hellbound match...featuring AJ Adams and four people who couldn’t be bothered to stay here for six months. A real eye for talent, Emily has, just putting random people in the main events of her shows. Elena comes out at the start of the show, has a moan and gets handed a title. That’s right, handed. That night, she pins Campbell in a tag match and Emily has the bright idea of giving Campbell a shot at the Crisis title. For god’s sake, you ruined the ending of the title match right there! You don’t reward loses blondy, no wonder you’re not in charge anymore. So Elena defends against Casey and to the surprise of no one, manages to beat the guy she’s already beaten to retain. Johnny Maverick was somewhere around there, but at least he earned his spot there by being married to Emily. Elena has had her hand held ever since Legacy X when she showed everyone she has the adapting power of a fish out of water. Even I can beat Outlaw, yet you were unable to get the job done. You won the Happenstance tournament, surely you should have been able to win two matches in one night. Arguments could be made that Outlaw was worse off than you were after beating Gabe earlier in the night. You don’t deserve to call yourself champion, plain and simple. You and Emily are the reason nepotism exists and it sickens me. The worst part is I know you’re talented, you beat me fair and square back at Danger Zone, no excuses, but you’re not the same person you were then, and neither am I.
Elizabeth Davis: As for you Outlaw, you’re worried that no one believes in you, maybe it has something to do with the fact that you’re a scared man. You know deep down you’re nothing but a place holder, the only way I was able to beat you was because Adams’ theme played, right? Well what does that say about you? It says you were afraid of him, it speaks to how easy you are to distract or upset. You’re not a true champion anymore than Elena is. I’m relieved that, as a company, we’ll have one less embarrassment of a champion coming out of WrestleFest, and between the three of you, I’m on team Adams. He’s willing to put his money where his mouth is, and that’s more than either one of you two can boast. How’s it going to feel when it’s not the two of you heading into WrestleFest with momentum, and instead it’s these two women who you look down on? Despite the meaning of this match, I want this win, and I’m not about to pass up this opportunity to prove it.
With that said, Liz walks off the interview set as we head back to Rayne and Nick.
At the sound of the bell, Adams and Ian meet in the middle of the ring with rights and lefts, back and forth. Both men are looking for momentum heading into the biggest show of the year, knowing this is their last chance to make a statement before WrestleFest and, at least for Ian, possibly his last BWF match. Adams gets the upper hand before Ian cuts him off with a knee lift, followed by a snap suplex. Ian floats over quickly with a side headlock in an attempt to sap AJ of his strength. It works, for a brief time before Adams fights his way back to his feet and shoves Ian off to the ropes, and as he rebounds Adams leaps in the air and catches Ian under the chin with a heel kick. AJ quickly goes for a cover but only nets a one count. Ian, now back on his feet, catches AJ with a quick poke in the eye when Adams approaches and Ian is able to follow that up with his Imperial-Plex (Belly to Back Half Nelson Suplex). AJ’s neck lands awkwardly and he falls to side, Ian going for the cover thinking he has this win but Adams kicks out at 2.
Nick Webb: Ian nearly had it right there! Adams had better not underestimate the Emperor!
Ian maintains his advantage with another headlock, though this time he wraps his legs around Adams’ waist to try and cut of his breathing more effectively. The crowd starts getting behind AJ as he tries to fight his way to his feet, but he suddenly falls back down as if he’s lost all of his strength. The referee checks on AJ and notices that Ian now has him in a choke! He quickly starts counting to disqualify Ian, who releases the hold and gets right in his face, saying it was a legal hold. The referee waves him off and Ian chews him out a bit more before turning back to Adams, who seems to have sprung to life enough to double over Ian and hit him with an Eat It (Fame-Asser)! Ian is face down and Adams is laying on the mat, catching his breath.
Rayne: Ian's down, but Adams can't capitalize! This match could still go either way!
Both men start getting to their feet after a seven count from the referee and, much like we started, start throwing rights and left, the crowd cheering with Adams and booing with Ian. Ian goes for a kneelift again, but this time Adams catches it and spins Ian around, catching him with a reverse forearm to the face. AJ ducks down to lift Ian up on his shoulders, possibly looking for the GTS, but Ian is able to slide down his back and spin him around and grab his neck, looking to drive him with a cradle neckbreaker, however Adams spins out of it, pulling Ian closer in the process for Adams to take flight with his knee elevated, synching Ian’s head and driving him forward towards the mat with the Last Call (Codebreaker)! The crowd explodes as Adams shoots the half and hooks the outside leg to get the 1, 2, 3.
WINNER: AJ Adams, via Pinfall
AJ Adams slides out of the ring and grabs a microphone and jumps to the apron and then to the top ropes. “Lights Out” cuts as he starts to talk and points to Ian who is still down on the mat.
AJ Adams: Let this be a warning for Outlaw and Elena. I am coming for your titles and after WrestleFest VII, I will be the BWF World Champion. I might not have had the best couple months here but it’s time that AJ Adams stands tall at the top of the BWF once again.
Adams looks out to the crowd and then the WrestleFest banner.
AJ Adams: I don’t care if I have to leave Houston with two torn rotator cuffs, two broken legs, and have lost gallons of blood I will be the undisputed BWF World Champion.
He starts to smile as Ian starts to stir. Adams jumps down and walks around him slowly.
AJ Adams: Be prepared.
The fans pop as he drops Ian with the Last Call. "Lights Out" starts playing again as AJ poses for the fans before exiting the ring.
Nick Webb: Just like that, Emperor Ian's BWF career comes to a disappointing, unnecessary end.
Rayne: I told you. Who told you?
Nick Webb: You did.
Rayne: Damn right I did. Stupid, stupid call by Ian.
~ Live from the Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas ~
As the bell sounds to start the match all four competitors are in the ring and arguing with their tag partners as to who will start the match. Outlaw and Elena Simonova each want to start the match and Liz Davis berates Vespertine telling her to get in the ring and start the match. Simonova eventually rushes across the ring and hammers Vespertine with a running knee and tosses her over the top rope and Davis can’t help but chuckle before she and Simonova tie up and start to exchange a few blows.
Rayne: I guess that’s one way to decide who’s going to start the match.
Nick Webb: Outlaw does not look very happy with that at all.
Rayne: Can you just feel the tension in the air?
Davis and Simonova try to gain the upper hand and the Crisis World Champion ducks a blow and drives a knee into the gut of Davis. Davis gets whipped into the corner and is quickly hit with a corner spear. Davis doubles over and Simonova looks for a bulldog out of the corner but Davis grabs the top rope and pulls her down by a big handful of hair. The referee tells Davis not to do it again and she stomps on Simonova a few times before looking over to her corner as Vespertine has finally made her way back up to the apron. Davis pulls Simonova to her feet and bends her over before driving an elbow into the back of her neck. Davis makes a hard tag to Vespertine and the two ladies share a dirty look.
Nick Webb: Not a lot of love between Vespertine and Elizabeth Davis.
Rayne: Maybe it’s all Liz. She doesn’t seem to play well with others.
Vespertine gets into the ring and Simonova is back up and backs into a back body drop. Vespertine strikes a pose for the crowd as the shower her in boos and she scoffs at them. She runs off the ropes and Simonova is quick to get up and drops her as they charge at each other with a double axe handle. Vespertine hits the mat hard and bounces right back up and is taken down with another double axe handle and this time just sits up. Simonova goes off the ropes and drives a knee into the face of Vespertine. Simonova makes a tag to Outlaw as he climbs into the ring and pushes Vespertine down to the mat with his boot as she tries to roll over to her knees.
Rayne: He’s toying with her like a bird its prey.
Outlaw stomps on the hand of Vespertine. She holds her hand close to her chest as she stands to her feet and turns to see Outlaw charging. Vespertine ducks a clothesline and smiles, turning around and Outlaw comes springboarding off the middle ropes with a crossbody. He teases a cover but he pulls Vespertine up at 1. He then goes to cover her again and after one once again pulls her up. He pulls her up by her hair as the referee gives him a warning. Outlaw quickly drops Vespertine with a reverse DDT and makes a tag to Simonova as he stands back up.
Nick Webb: Vespertine really needs to make a tag and soon.
Rayne: The two champions really controlling the pace of the match here tonight.
Simonova grabs Vespertine who was trying to make her way to her corner for a tag and wrenches her arm and locks in a hammerlock. Vespertine eventually is able to drop to a knee and flip Simonova over with a snapmare. Vespertine chops the Crisis World Champion across the chest as she stands back up and then hits her with a kick to the side of her left thigh. Simonova looks for a haymaker but Vespertine is able to flip her over with a hip toss and finally makes a tag to Davis. Davis climbs through the ropes and dropkicks Simonova as she gets up. The two ladies both get to their feet and Davis lands a kick to the gut and a quick DDT.
Rayne: Davis starting to battle back for her team.
Davis pulls Simonova to her feet but is quickly taken down with a jawbreaker. Davis holds her hand to her jaw as Simonova steps up and flips her over with a monkey flip. Davis hits the mat and is still feeling the effects of the jawbreaker as she gets back up. Simonova looks to Outlaw who wants the tag but she doesn’t make it and the two ladies lock back up. Davis tries to apply a side headlock but Simonova spins out and locks in a sleeper hold. Davis quickly battles out with a few elbows to the side of Simonova’s head and turns around to try and suplex her. Davis looks for the suplex but Simonova battles out with shots to Davis’ side and pulls her legs out from under her and tries to lock in the Arm of the Kremlin (Haas of Pain) but Davis quickly grabs for the bottom rope.
Nick Webb: Nice exchange there between Elena and Liz as they’re trying to gain some sort of advantage.
The referee forces the break and Simonova finally backs off. Davis begins to pull herself up using the ropes and Simonova approaches again and walks right into a kick to the knee that causes her to stumble and slip. Liz takes a step toward the corner and trips, grabbing her left leg as she goes down.
Nick Webb: Hang on... it looks like something just popped in Liz's leg. Is she alright?
Although appearing to be in a large amount of pain, Davis drags herself to her corner and makes a tag to Vespertine who comes into the ring hot and Simonova also makes a tag. Outlaw comes in fast and side steps a charging Vespertine as she hits the corner. She comes right back out and Outlaw grabs her arms and sets her up in a straightjacket before hitting her with a lungblower. He looks at the turnbuckle and jumps to the top rope and measures up Vespertine before coming off with the It Came From Above II (Frog Splash). Outlaw gets to his feet and Simonova tags herself into the match and tells Outlaw to move as she walks by him. In the corner, Liz is still sitting on the ring apron as a handful of ringside medical staff attend to her, asking her several questions.
Rayne: Oh no, this might implode right here.
Nick Webb: Elena just tagged herself into the match and wants to finish things.
Simonova pulls Vespertine up to her feet and sets her up for the Reverse Psycology (C4) but Vespertine is able to slip away and goes for the Suspended Silence (Osaka Street Cutter) but when Simonova lands on her feet she just pushes her away. Simonova rushes off the ropes and Outlaw tags himself in as she stops. The two begin to argue as Vespertine turns and is confused.
Rayne: Here we go!
Vespertine notices the medical staff gingerly helping Liz off of the ring apron and loudly complains, shouting "what about our match?" She shakes her head and turns around, leaving Outlaw to charge and drop her with the Unlawful (Tilt a Whirl DDT) and make the cover. Davis looks back at the ring for just a moment before the officials help her though the curtain as the ref counts the 1, 2, 3 for Team World Champion.
WINNERS: Elena Simonova and Outlaw, via Pinfall
Elena Simonova approaches Outlaw and they begin to argue again about the end of the match. The referee hands them each of their titles and they have a standoff. Outlaw holds his up and Simonova follows suit. “Lights Out” by P.O.D. hits and the fans roar as the two look towards the entrance ramp. Outlaw turns around just in time to duck a chair being swung at him by AJ Adams who entered through the crowd. Simonova and Outlaw bail as Adams swings the chair wildly and hits the ropes and turnbuckles as the crowd eats it up. He tosses the chair at Outlaw who’s making his way up the ramp. Simonova is by the announce table holding her title and Outlaw has his clenched to his chest.
Rayne: AJ Adams is fired up!
Nick Webb: He wants what they have and at WrestleFest VII we’re going to have the biggest main event in this company’s history!
Adams motions for the title around his waist and points to the WrestleFest banner. We see one final shot of Adams and the two World Champions as Havok fades to the BWF logo, then finally to black.
