Episode 156 - October 28, 2013
- SEGMENT: Havok kicks off with Havok GM David Blazenwing, who talks about the upcoming battle for GM supremacy (and the sole GM job) at WrestleFest VII before proudly introducing his hand-picked representative, Casey Campbell. DB talks about how Casey has guaranteed him a victory at WrestleFest and he suggests Emily might be better off just giving up now and walking away. Emily walks out onto the stage and tells Blazenwing that that won't be necessary, because she's found a representative that truly symbolizes what BWF is all about. The crowd explodes as "In Fate’s Hands" by Red Jumpsuit Apparatus hits and Gabe Shelley walks out onto the stage before shaking Emily's hand. Blazenwing throws a fit in the middle of the ring as the segment goes to commercial.
In a battle that would no doubt have heavy implications on the upcoming biggest show of the year, Circa Zalza and Roberts squared off and went at it hard. Despite the various disadvantages in going toe-to-toe with her much bigger and stronger opponent, Circa stayed in the pocket and struck early and often to get herself in front. Circa rocked Roberts and then outpaced him with a mix of strikes and throws where she could, but it only took one misstep for Roberts to turn the tables, as he went low on an Enzuigiri attempt, snatched Zalza up and impaled her with a German Suplex.
Roberts was unsteady at first, but he quickly regained his composure and set about dominating the home girl, putting her through the ringer and doing what he could to belittle her and make the point of just why he’s going to the top.
Circa was clearly hurt but she refused to be beaten and simply waited out her moment to strike. Her moment came with a spear that she used to lead Roberts into the buckles and then sweep him with a roll-up. It didn’t net her the fall but did give her the drop on him as she caught him with a big roundhouse when he sat up. Roberts was stunned but quickly woke back up and the match descended back into a series of vicious exchanges. The match comes to a close with Circa hitting the ropes, going for a hurrican-ranna, but John uses his ring prowess to counter, capturing Circa with his Into the Snake Pit (Crucifix Stretch turned into an F5). With Circa hitting the mat, John goes for the cover and gets the three-count.
WINNER: John Roberts, via Pinfall
- SEGMENT: Backstage, Vespertine has a discussion with a few fans and, ultimately, Crisis GM Emily Corlen, regarding whether or not Elizabeth Davis is really a Princess.
Once the bell rings, both men circle each other briefly before locking up. Once Austin starts to get the upper advantage, driving Cage down to a knee, Cage immediately breaks the hold and rakes Austin’s eye, getting a warning from the ref - as if that’s going to do any good. Cage tries to whip Austin into the ropes, but Austin reverses and hip tosses Cage. The International Champion tries to follow up with a leg drop, but Cage rolls out of the way and immediately goes for Austin’s leg and locks in a kneebar. The fans cheer for Austin as he digs down deep and manages to grab the ropes.
The rest of the match sees Austin execute some stylish impact moves while Cage tries to slow down the match with western-style holds, trying to weaken Austin’s limbs, the culmination of which ends in Cage kicking Austin in the stomach and lifting him up with a reverse waist-lock into a pile-driver position. Jonathan keeps on his feet, giving Austin a few knees to the head. This turns out to be a mistake because Austin is able to wriggle over Cage’s head and fall to his feet. Austin then uses the momentum to reverse their positions before hitting a Full Throttle (Inverted Overdrive).
Both men are laid out on the mat breathing heavily until Austin manages to flip onto Cage and lift the leg. The ref counts a 1…2…2 ½ …and Cage kicks out.
A frustrated Austin lifts Cage to his feet, hits him hard in the chest with a chop, and whips him into ropes. Cage replies with a textbook dropkick to chest. He then stomps on Austin’s chest a few times before yanking him to his feet. Cage attempts to finish Austin off by hitting his Shadow Kick, but Austin is able to reverse, turn Cage around, and hit the Ace in the Hole (Rikishi Driver). He goes for the pin and gets the 1…2…3.
WINNER: Austin Scott, via Pinfall
- SEGMENT: Backstage before her match, Liz Davis visits C.E.O. Jen Corlen's office, where she shows Jen a Twitter conversation that displays Emily promising her a future shot at the Sovereign Title. Jen notes that Emily did make the promise, but now, Liz has a chance to secure a shot at the International Title, and says she should focus on that before worrying about any other potential title shots floating out in the nether.
In the closing moments of the contest, Davis locks Ian in her Maple Leaf Lock, looking for the submission. Before Ian can submit, however, Vespertine grabs Ian and cinches in an Anaconda Vice! Ian taps out, but the referee has no idea who to award the match to, before finally conceding that technically, both women won this contest!
WINNERS: Elizabeth Davis & Vespertine, via Submission
- SEGMENT: Following the end of their match, Vespertine and Liz start catfighting. Jen Corlen appears on stage and tells the ladies that she knows exactly how to rectify this situation. Liz wants the Sovereign Title, they both won this #1 Contender's Match, therefore, at WrestleFest, Vespertine and Liz Davis will team up and face both International Champion Austin Scott AND Sovereign Champion Zoe Cooper in a Tag Team match with both titles on the line! If the contender's team wins, Vespertine becomes International Champ and Liz becomes Sovereign Champ. If they lose, regardless of who takes the fall, they both walk away with nothing. Jen reminds Liz that she cost herself an incredible tag team opportunity at Retribution, and suggests that this time, she be a little more careful with her words as we make our way to Texas for WrestleFest.
Dante C. Mephisto wants to make a name for himself, but he picked the wrong night and the wrong man to do it against. Industry legend The Crimson Ghost came to Havok to hurt someone, and hurt someone he does, stopping Dante's attempts at victory cold before ultimately finishing him off, dropping him into the grave at ringside and piling on the dirt for the win. Rayne and Webb agree that we may have seen the last of Mephisto in BWF even as Crimson Ghost celebrates his Halloween week victory.
WINNER: The Crimson Ghost
- SEGMENT: In a rare show-closing segment, Jen Corlen returns to the ring with a contract for AJ Adams to sign or not sign regarding his involvement in the main event at WrestleFest VII. Adams wastes no time making his way to the ring (to a sizable pop from the crowd) and mulls over the decision, noting that his shoulder is not 100%. After some back and forth, Adams finally agrees to put his career on the line and signs the contract. Outlaw and Elena Simonova both appear and despite a tense stare down between the three parties, no hostile actions are taken, leaving the three to ponder their collective fates at WrestleFest VII as Havok fades to the BWF logo, then to black.
