Episode 153 - August 26, 2013
Nick Webb: We are live in Tokyo, Japan! Welcome to Monday Night Havok! Welcome to the 2013 BWF Draft!
Rayne: Tonight, the lives of the entire BWF roster will change forever as BWF splits into two distinct brands, each show's roster drafted by their respective General Managers. Who's going to end up where? I can't wait to find out!
A Huge Opportunity
The camera comes in just as Elizabeth Davis is walking out of a room, the placard on the door reading "Havok General Manager David Blazenwing", but that doesn’t exactly reflect what she has to say coming out.
Elizabeth Davis: Uh-huh, I’m going to go out there and show you, Emily and everyone else just how marketable I am. I hope you’re watching, Mr. Slayton.
As she closes the door behind her, she’s surprised to see a cameraman and hometown interviewer, Toshi Yang standing there looking for an interview. Elizabeth changes quickly from annoyed to smiles as she realizes she’s on live television, Toshi going into the interview
Toshi Yang: Miss Davis, you are set to walk out in front of thousands of Japanese fans and take on our BWF World Champion, Outlaw. Do you think you’ll be affected by this sellout crowd?
Elizabeth Davis: You know Toshi, this is the first time I’ll ever be competing here in Japan. I’ve been here before, in fact, doing your very job here as an interviewer, but as far as competing in front of everyone, I don’t think it will make much of a difference. I’m sure our viewers have noticed that while the matches are going on, it’s actually quite quiet in the arena and I’m sure the American fans back home, well back homeish, I’m Canadian after all, but they might think that the crowd is disinterested. However, they’re all about respect here in Japan and as such, they watch quietly and let us know how they feel at the end of the match. I’ll be able to focus all of my energy on Outlaw and I plan to earn the respect of not just this crowd, but this business in general. Much like Mulan, I’m not looking to be treated any differently from the rest of the people here, I just want a fair chance. I’m without my dragon, but I’m not without my desire to be the best. A famous man once said if you want to be the man, you have to beat the man, and while I have no desire to be a man, I am looking to beat the man, tonight.
Toshi Yang: Do you have a live status update on your mentor, Matt Stone?
Elizabeth Davis: Matt is back home now and recovering, thankfully. He wasn’t able to make it out here as he hasn’t be cleared to fly, but I’m dedicating my match here to my little Mu Shu.
Toshi Yang: That’s sweet, any parting words for Outlaw before the match?
Elizabeth Davis: It’s really rather straightforward. You heard him earlier this week, he’s the World champion and I’m not. Hard to argue that, but what hurt my feelings was that he expected me to come out and say he didn’t deserve to be where he is and that he only won because he was handed the opportunity. That’s just a fact; would he be the World Champion if he wasn’t given the opportunity?
Toshi stays quiet, unsure if that was rhetorical or not.
Elizabeth Davis: Of course he wouldn’t. I don’t think I should be World Champion, I just think I should be given opportunities to prove myself. He said it himself; I haven’t been given very important matches. He made one mistake though, and it’s really rather funny. He felt it necessary to run me down so much, it’s not a big deal if he wins tonight, is it?
Again, Toshi stays quiet.
Elizabeth Davis: If he beats me, he beats a nobody in his own words, but if he loses? Well then he lost to a nobody and that will be terrible for the World Champion’s first singles match since winning the belt, don’t you think? It’s lose/lose for Outlaw and I have the chance to have the biggest win in my career. If I lose? I still get to be in the ring with a World champion and learn all I can, but if I win? Then you could be looking at the next BWF World Champion. He asked me to bring my Maple Leaf Lock, and that’s what I plan on doing and I’m sure he’ll bring his Vodka Tonic... I mean Breaking the Law... and look to put me back on the shelf. I’m ready for you Outlaw, are you ready for me? Underestimate me all you want, but I guarantee after tonight you will know what I’m capable of.
Toshi Yang: Well good luck tonight Elizabeth.
Elizabeth Davis: Domo arigato, Toshi.
Elizabeth walks away from the camera, set on her match with Outlaw, leaving Toshi to stand there a little confused.
The match opens up with Zoe and Savior locking up, Zoe getting the upper hand with a go behind followed by a running start, pushing Savior to the ropes and pulling him back in a cradle, netting an early 1 count. Zoe to her feet first and catches Savior with a rib kick as he gets up, followed by a headlock takeover. Zoe keeps the headlock in until Savior fights back to his feet, shooting Zoe off at the ropes and lowering his head as she rebounds looking for a back body drop, but getting a boot to the face for his trouble. He stands up straight from the kick and Zoe leaps in the air, connecting with a beautiful standing dropkick. The force of the blow knocks Savior to the mat. Zoe goes for another cover and this time getting a two count, her dropkick obviously catching Savior on the chin and dazing him.
Nick Webb: Zoe Cooper is impressing here in her debut match! The Savior hasn't really gotten out of the gate yet, but that can still change!
Savior is back on his feet and tackles Zoe to the mat, reigning right hands down on her face. She’s doing her best to protect herself as the referee counts the illegal right hands, Savior eventually relents and gets off, the crowd jeering his tactics. Zoe starts getting up and Savior knocks her flat on her back with a boot to her head. It’s Deja Vu as Savior hits the ropes, running back and leaping in the air, looking for his Holy Grail (Leg Drop), but Zoe rolls out of the way, leaving Savior to land on his ass. Zoe is to her feet, measuring Savior as he gets to his feet, only to be knocked back down with her Roundabout (Spinning Heel Kick)! She quickly lifts Savior up with a front chancery before planting him straight down to the mat with her 'Coop' de Etat (Rolling DDT)! She shoots the half, hooking the outside leg and gets the 3 count victory!
WINNER: Zoe Cooper, via Pinfall
"Renegade" by Paramore starts playing over the BlazenTron as Zoe Cooper jumps up and celebrates her victory, the Japanese fans cheering the newcomer on.
Nick Webb: Impressive win for Zoe Cooper! With moves like that, her BWF future is very bright!
Rayne: I'd wager she's gotten the attention of both General Managers ahead of tonight's Draft, that's for damn sure!
The BWF Draft, Part One
The camera moves to the stage, where two podiums on opposite sides of the stage have been set up. David Blazenwing stands behind the podium on the left, emblazoned with the Havok logo, while Emily Corlen stands behind the one on the right, sporting the new Crisis logo. In the middle, standing with a microphone, is BWF C.E.O. Jen Corlen.
Jen Corlen: Hello, and welcome to BWF Monday Night Havok! Tonight is a very special night. Not only will your favorite BWF competitors be in action, but, for only the second time in BWF history, we will be featuring a company Draft. One of our classic programs, BWF Monday Night Crisis, will begin airing new episodes next week on the FXX Network and will alternate with HBO's Monday Night Havok every other week. This way, you, the fans, get amazing BWF action every single week - no more waiting two weeks between shows! This is a major step forward for the company, and we invite each and every one of you to join us on this historic journey.
The crowd pops loudly as both David and Emily glare at one another.
Jen Corlen: Now, a few things for our General Managers and the fans at home to note. Champions are eligible to be drafted, and if they are, that title will become property of that brand. The Tag Team Champions will be drafted as a unit, but the Tag Titles themselves will be contested on both BWF brands. Earlier tonight, before we went on the air, a coin was tossed to determine which brand would receive the right to pick first. That toss was won by David Blazenwing, who will make the first pick of the night for the Havok brand momentarily. Each General Manager will make two picks, one at a time, throughout the night, until the entire roster has been signed to either Havok or Crisis.
Nick Webb: That equals out to roughly twelve picks per show.
Rayne: You did the math? Nerd.
Jen Corlen: David, if you would.
The camera pans over to Havok General Manager David Blazenwing and the crowd boos loudly. He steps up to the microphone and smirks.
David Blazenwing: Like there's even a choice. Havok's first draft pick is the BWF World Champion, Outlaw.
The crowd boos louder at the mention of Outlaw's name as he pops up on the BlazenTron.
Nick Webb: What a first pick! The BWF World Champion is coming to Monday Night Havok!
Rayne: After what happened at Legacy X, does it come as any surprise that Outlaw is Blazenwing's first pick? The title is just a bonus!
The camera then pans over to the Crisis General Manager, Emily Corlen. The crowd pops as she glares over at Blazenwing.
Emily Corlen: If that's how we're going to play it, then I'm going to pick the battle-tested, REAL World Champion of the BWF, the woman who got screwed by YOU at Legacy X. Crisis selects Elena Simonova as our first draft pick.
The crowd pops as Elena shows up on the BlazenTron.
Nick Webb: Crisis selects the woman who most people feel was robbed of the BWF World Title after a hard-fought victory against AJ Adams at Legacy X.
Rayne: Vaginas stick together, man. I'm telling you!
Nick Webb: Like you know anything about vaginas.
Rayne: ...that was actually pretty good. I think I'm finally rubbing off on you after all these years!
Nick Webb: ...oh lord. Let's hope not.
David Blazenwing: Hm. Fair enough. I've never liked the bitch very much anyway. I've given some thought to who Havok should draft second, and I'd be foolish not to take any opportunity I can to screw you over, Emily. Therefore, Havok's second draft pick is the man you've spent the last five months building this company around... AJ Adams.
The crowd gasps, surprised, and even Emily looks a little shocked at this draft pick.
Nick Webb: No way! Speaking of AJ Adams, Blazenwing just drafted the two-time BWF World Champion to Havok! What a shocker!
Rayne: I have a strong feeling the former World Champion isn't going to like that one bit... even if it does mean he has a chance of finally getting his hands on Outlaw.
Emily Corlen: Alright, alright... fair enough. I admit, AJ was going to be my second pick. No matter, I always have a plan B, and that plan is to make sure you don't get your hands on the Sovereign Championship! Crisis selects the King of Controversy as our second draft pick - Johnny Maverick!
The crowd cheers loudly as Johnny's graphic flashes across the screen.
Nick Webb: Johnny Maverick is coming to Crisis!
Rayne: And he's bringing his Sovereign Championship with him! Well... maybe! What if Minstrel beats him tonight!?
Nick Webb: You're right. I'm not sure Emily thought this one through.
Jen Corlen: Alright ladies and gentlemen, there you have it - the first four picks of tonight's BWF Draft! Stay tuned throughout the program as we continue this history making night and watch as your General Managers shape the future landscapes of Havok and Crisis!
Jen bows to the audience and both David and Emily begin sifting through their papers as the show cuts to a promo for HBO.
The bell rings and the two men hook up. They go back and forth for a while with neither gaining the advantage. They break. They hook up again. This time, Ashe being the heavier of the two pushes Salem into the corner. The referee gets between them and tells him to back off. Ashe puts his arms up and complies. He goes to stand in the middle of the ring while Salem gets his bearings. Suddenly Salem charges from the corner and when Ashe attempts a clothesline, he ducks under it and executes a float over DDT.
Nick Webb: Nice counter there from Salem! He was ready for Corvin there.
Salem is first up. He goes over to Ashe, picks him up and snapmares him back over following it up with a chinlock sleeper hold. Ashe scrambles for something to hold for a while and then goes still. The referee picks his arm up and Ashe keeps it up. He then gets to one knee. He muscles his way up and twists his body. Salem keeps a hold on him but Ashe twists his body enough to elbow Salem in the ribs once, twice, three times and then Salem lets go. Ashe sees an opportunity and runs the ropes, rebounds off of them and performs a flying shoulder block. Ashe goes down hard. Salem kips up, looks around, smirks at nobody in particular and then stalks over to Ashe and picks him up.
Rayne: Salem's in control right now, but I wouldn't count a guy like Ashe Corvin out. Don't get cocky, Croft!
He Irish whips Ashe towards the ropes. When Ashe rebounds, Salem attempts a clothesline from hell, but Ashe ducks under it, runs the ropes and rebounds again. He attempts a flying cross body block but Salem sees it coming, grabs him out of midair and powerslams him to the mat. He covers Ashe for the pin. At two and a half, Ashe kicks out.
Nick Webb: Corvin's not done yet!
Salem kneels over Ashe grinning wickedly. He gets up, grabs Ashe, picks him up and then Irish whips him into the corner post. Salem backs up and then charges to attempt a stinger splash but Ashe moves at the last second and Salem crashes into the corner post. Salem staggers backwards and Ashe grabs him and performs a well-executed modified German suplex which he turns into a pin on the last one. The referee gets into position but Salem kicks out at two and a half.
Rayne: Not enough there, Salem gets his shoulder up. Ashe is doing a hell of a job making a comeback right now though!
Ashe stalks over to Salem, picks him up by the hair. The referee admonishes him but suddenly Salem breaks and punches Ashe. The crowd cheers. Ashe punches him back and the crowd boos. They go back and forth punching each other and each time they do so, the crowd either cheers or boos them. Finally Ashe attempts a Big Boot to Salem’s face and gets it. Salem goes down hard. Ashe sees this and puts Salem into his Koji Clutch called Touch of Pain.
Nick Webb: The Touch of Pain! This match might be over right here!
For a few moments Salem doesn’t move. The referee lifts his hand once and twice and both times it drops. The third time he keeps it up. He muscles his way to the ropes and grabs on to the bottom of it. The referee tells Ashe to let go. He does so and when Salem gets up, Ashe goes forward to grab his shoulder and spin him around. Salem spins around and tries to punch Ashe but Ashe ducks, picks Salem up and executes The Glorifier (Spinning Lifting Sitout Double Underhook Facebuster)! He covers Salem and the referee gets into position - 1, 2, 3!
WINNER: Ashe Corvin, via Pinfall
"Feuer Frei" By Rammstein fills the air as Ashe Corvin stands up, posing as the fans in attendance boo.
Nick Webb: Salem Croft put up a fight, but it wasn't enough to beat the debuting Ashe Corvin!
Rayne: This guy's done well in other companies, Nick... this may be the harbinger of good things for Corvin in BWF... and bad things for anybody he goes up against!
The BWF Draft, Part Two
The camera returns to the stage, where the General Managers and BWF C.E.O. Jen Corlen are waiting.
Jen Corlen: Welcome back to the BWF Draft! Let's continue right where we left off. David, if you would?
David smirks as he leans forward.
David Blazenwing: Well, Jen, we here at Havok respect Champions and what they bring to the table. Namely, their hardware. I want Havok to be the premiere spot to see all of your favorite Champions in action, so with that in mind, I am proud to announce that the third pick for Havok will be the BWF Tag Team Champions, Emperor Ian and Kelly Keagan.
The crowd half cheers, half boos as graphics for Ian and Kelly are shown.
Nick Webb: A coup for Havok! Blazenwing just drafted the Tag Team Champions!
Rayne: Remember, like Jen said earlier, the Tag Titles will be defended across both brands. But basically, he just got two picks for the price of one. Nicely done!
Jen Corlen: Very well. Emily, dear, since David drafted the Tag Team Champions, you get to select your next two picks in a row.
David perks up at this.
David Blazenwing: Hang on, I'm sorry, what?
Jen Corlen: You used your third pick to get two wrestlers. The Tag Team Champions must be drafted as a unit, yes, but it still costs you two picks for two wrestlers.
The crowd pops loudly as Blazenwing loudly protests.
Jen Corlen: MISTER Blazenwing. Please control yourself or I'll have you personally escorted off the premises and allow Emily to make your picks as well.
David considers fighting back, but ultimately takes a step back, still fuming.
Nick Webb: I don't think David expected that! Not much of an advantage now, is it?
Emily Corlen: Alright, two picks, you say? Excellent. Let's see... hmm... alright, I got it. For the third pick in the draft, BWF Crisis selects... Johnny Maverick's partner, my good friend and official BWF sponsor Jacob Figgins!
The crowd pops and a "Chaos Theory" chant picks up as Figgins' graphic shows up across the screen.
Nick Webb: What a pick! Figgins and Maverick have a hell of a history together, and if their prior team-ups have proven anything, it's that they are one difficult team to beat.
Rayne: Let's see how he does later tonight before I make any decisions on whether this pick is good for Crisis... or Havok.
Emily Corlen: Aaaaaaaaand for pick number four... oh, I'm so glad you screwed this one up, Dave, because I absolutely can't wait to see the look on your face when I make this announcement. Joining Crisis as the fourth overall pick in the 2013 BWF Draft... Casey Campbell!
Blazenwing loses his shit and the crowd pops loudly (more for Blazenwing's meltdown than anything) as Casey's graphic flashes across the screen.
Nick Webb: WOW! Casey Campbell is the last person I expected Emily to draft!
Rayne: Oh you KNOW she just did that to piss Dave off! And it worked!
Nick Webb: Looks like Corlen just got comeuppance for Blazenwing drafting AJ earlier tonight!
Jen Corlen: Folks, we'll be back with more riveting Draft action later tonight! For now, let's get you back to the action in the ring!
The bell rings and the two hook up. Lawrence being the heavier of the two has the distinct advantage and pushes Vespertine across the ring. She stares daggers at him as he puts his arms up to show the audience his muscles. She jumps up and charges attempting a clothesline. He staggers back and looks down, then looks at her and smiles. She runs the ropes again and tries another clothesline this time with the same result. He shrugs and then charges her attempting a clothesline from hell. She doesn’t see it coming and goes down hard.
Nick Webb: Ooh, Vespertine's clock just got cleaned with that nasty clothesline!
He stalks over to her and picks her up and puts her in a Kane like choke lift hold which he applies for several moments before finally throwing her across the ring. He goes after her, picks her up and Irish whip her towards the ropes. On her rebound, she jumps at the last minute attempting a spinning heel kick. He tries to catch her but she hits his temple and he goes down. She wastes no time in following up. She kips up and as he gets up, she charges him and he tries to clothesline her but instead she ducks under and attempts a float over DDT. It connects but doesn’t do enough damage to him as he immediately gets back up. She runs the ropes again and he follows her but this time as he goes for a clothesline, she jumps the ropes and executes a perfect whisper in the wind and he goes down.
Rayne: Hot move from a hot chick! I love it!
She stalks over to him and picks him up. But he is a good 100lbs heavier than she is so she has trouble picking him up but she finally manages it. She tries to irish whip him towards the corner but he reverses it and instead she slams into the corner post. He follows it up and charges and gets in a hard corner post clothesline. He backs up and charges again but she gets her foot up to block him. He stops just short of it and looks at her with a smirk, then grabs her foot and starts to pull her out to the middle of the ring.
Nick Webb: Uh oh, Lawrence Jarvis has some bad intentions here.
He spins her around and when her back is too him, he grabs her in a big bear hug. She tries to struggle but to no avail and he is clearly having fun with her. Suddenly she does a low back kick up and hits him in the groin. He lets go and double over in pain. She does a backflip to get on her hand and executes a capoeira handspin kick which connects with his temple. He goes down but she didn’t do enough damage to knock him out. He struggles to get back up. She rights herself and gets up too. She charges him and launches to attempt a codebreaker but he reverses it and grabs her, lifts her up more and powerbombs her to the mat in a type of Batista bomb. He barely covers her but puts two hands on her chest and the referee goes down for the three count. He smirks as the referee counts. NO! At two and three quarters, she kicks out. He looks down at her surprised.
Rayne: I think the All-Father thought this match was over!
Jarvis rolls her back over and covers her again and at 1 and a half she kicks out again. He gets up, picks her up and then Irish whips her towards the ropes. He backs up and then charges and when she rebounds he attempts a spear but she sees it coming and at the last second, jumps over him and somersaults onto the mat behind him. She kips up and he stops and turns around looking confused. She wastes no time and runs towards him to execute a step up enziguri. She connects with the back of his head and he goes down.
Nick Webb: Down goes Jarvis! The whole complexion of this match just changed!
She is up first and looks around to get ideas. She goes to the corner post and climbs up. He is slowly getting to his feet. When he is fully up, she jumps and flies out doing a 360 in midair and then lands on his neck, shifts her weigh backwards and she hurricanranas him to the mat. She lets go and stays on top of him, grabs a leg and pins him. The referee gets into position. At two, he kicks out.
Rayne: Jarvis kicks out, but Vespertine is definitely in control right now.
She promptly gets off of him. She then runs the ropes, rebounds and executes a dropkick to the face as he getting up. He rolls over onto the mat holding his face. She stomps on him a couple of times before looking around. She runs the ropes again and attempts a Jillian Hall elbow drop but when she goes down to elbow him, he moves at the last second and she crashes on her elbow. He gets up quickly, goes over to her, grabs her by the hair and pulls her up. He gets in her face talking smack about her and then sets her up for a Front Russian leg sweep. They both go down but she takes the damage. He gets up and looks around and then grabs her, picks her up, and Irish whips her towards the ropes. On her rebound, he attempts a clothesline from hell but she ducks under it and jumps onto his back to cinch in an Octopus stretch. He looks around and his face almost says “WTF is she doing?” He grabs her legs and her head and falls backward into a drop. He crashes onto the mat with her underneath. He gets up and she rolls around on the mat in pain.
Nick Webb: I don't think that hold worked out the way Vespertine hoped it would.
Rayne: Jarvis is a veteran, and that right there was a veteran counter.
He grabs her and picks her up to put her into a Wrath of Odin but at its height, she scratches his eyes and he lets go of her. She falls on her feet and staggers back a few steps as he staggers around he swings to try and hit her but he misses. She dodges his swing. She goes around behind him, jumps up, clamps on his back and then shifts her weight backwards to execute a backstabber. He stands up, takes a few steps and then falls face first into the mat. She gets on her knees, blows a stray hair out of her eyes and looks around.
Nick Webb: Vespertine looks like she's unsure of her next move here. Don 't waste too much time!
She gets up and goes over to him, grabs his arms to wrap them up and puts him in a Japanese stranglehold to finish the combo. He can’t use his hands to crawl over but when the referee asks him if he wants to give up, he says no. He stops moving for a moment or two and then slowly gets to his feet. When the crowd sees this, they cheer him on. Finally he is up and he rushes backwards to slam her into the corner post. She doesn’t let go so he does it again. This time she lets go and falls off. When she does so, he goes forward and shakes his arms out and she slumps to the ground. He turns around to look at her and then goes forward, grabs her by the hair and starts pounding on her head. Evelyn sees this and starts clapping for him. The referee tells him to back off and when he doesn’t, he starts the five count. At three, he lets go and backs off. He looks at the audience and raises his arms. The crowd cheers loudly for the former World Champion.
Rayne: Seems like the fans in Tokyo have a lot of respect for the All-Father!
As she is slowly getting up, Jarvis goes over to her, picks her up and Irish whips her towards the ropes. When she rebounds, he executes a big boot to her face and she falls on the mat hard on her back. He goes over to her and covers her for the pin. She kicks out at two and three quarters. He gets up, picks her up, and then lifts her up into another Kane chokehold. He puts her up there for a few minutes before throwing her across the ring. After he does so, he flexes for the crowd and they give a big pop for him.
Nick Webb: I think what you said before is a very astute observation, Rayne!
He goes over to her, bends over to pick her up but she sees him coming and pokes him in the eyes. He staggers backwards holding his eyes and she is quick to get up. When he turns around, she charges and jumps this time executing her version of a Codebreaker called “Breaking the Bank”. He straightens up and staggers around as if in a daze.
Rayne: Jarvis might not know where he is right now!
She kips up and runs up behind him, jumps onto his back and clamps on a sleeper hold. He looks around and tries to grab her hair to pull her off but the referee warns him against it. He grabs her rear and she yells out “HEY!” but he keeps a hold of her and again rams her back into the ring post. Evelyn looks on admiringly from the outside. Vespertine slumps into the corner and Jarvis goes forward and cranks his neck to get the ache out. He turns around, goes over to her, picks her up and props her against the ring post. He gets on the second ropes, grabs her head, looks around with a smirk and then fires a few shots at her forehead. The crowd counts to five before he lets up and backs off. She staggers forwards and falls face first into the mat. He sees she is down so he goes over to her, rolls her over and puts a foot on her chest to mockingly cover her. At two and a half, she kicks out again.
Nick Webb: I think the All-Father wanted to make a statement with that cover, but it didn't end the way he thought it would. I think if Jarvis would have covered her in a hooked pin, this match might be over right now!
Rayne: On the one hand, save the showboating for after the match. A rookie mistake from a guy who is anything but. On the other hand... the new generation needs to learn some respect, and who better to teach them than Lawrence Jarvis?
Jarvis senses the end is near so he goes over to her, picks her up and sets her up for a Pedigree. Suddenly she goes into motion, her head goes down lower and comes back up really fast and hits him in the breadbox. He lets her go and falls backwards and she straightens up. He glares at her and she mockingly bows to him. But we can see she is also tired. She runs the ropes and executes Insult to Injury (a Liontamer Moonsault into a Double Foot Stomp) which ends up on his stomach. He rolls around on the mat in pain.
Nick Webb: What a move! Vespertine has Jarvis on the ropes! Can she capitalize?
She looks around and then finally spies the corner post. She runs over to it and climbs up. She puts a pretend gun to her head (in imitation of her idol Lita) and then jumps up and out. For a moment, all time seems to stop and all eyes are on her as she attempts “Epically Diva” (Corkscrew Shooting Star Senton). She floats and comes down on Jarvis’s stomach, bounces off and then quickly goes for the pin. A quick three count later, and Vespertine is victorious!
WINNER: Vespertine, via Pinfall
"Diamond Eyes" by Shinedown starts up as Vespertine rolls to her feet and celebrates. Jarvis rolls out of the ring and puts his arm over his manager's shoulder, shaking his head in disappointment.
Nick Webb: I think Lawrence Jarvis tried to send a message to Vespertine tonight, but Vespertine had a message of her own; she is not to be underestimated!
Rayne: Not many people can claim to have victories over the All-Father! A big win for Lady Ves, that's for certain!
The BWF Draft, Part Three
The camera returns to the stage, where Jen Corlen, David Blazenwing and Emily Corlen are all set for more Draft action!
Jen Corlen: Alright folks, it's time for the next four Draft picks. David, if you'll lead us off.
David Blazenwing: Can I protest the bullshit that was the last round?
Jen Corlen: No, you may not.
David Blazenwing: ... (grumbles under his breath) ...fine. If I can't have Casey, I want Toco, before Emily steals him, too.
Nick Webb: Toco's heading to Havok! DB drafting a Hall of Famer, and one of the men who helped make Outlaw the World Champion at Legacy X.
Rayne: Here's hoping Blazenwing can afford the extra catering! HA!
The camera pans over to Emily, who is staring at David.
Emily Corlen: Hey, you're the one who drafted AJ. What I did was called justice. But enough about that. The next Draft pick for Crisis is a man who has impressed me quite a bit since his debut, even if he's a little on the scary side. He's also facing Johnny Maverick for the Sovereign Title tonight, even if you might not remember that since neither one of them bothered to promote the match. Regardless, joining the Crisis roster... The Minstrel.
Nick Webb: The Minstrel is coming to Crisis! That means the Sovereign Title is, as well! For sure, this time!
Rayne: I wonder if Emily was planning on drafting Minstrel in the first place, or if one of her people texted her during the last match to remind her that Johnny retaining the title wasn't a certainty here in Tokyo. No matter the circumstances, welcome to Crisis, Minstrel!
David Blazenwing: Are we back to me, finally? Somebody who matters? Awesome. Alright, Havok isn't just going to be built around 'my guys'. I'm not Emily, after all. And hey, I'm all about opportunity, so I'm granting a young woman the opportunity of a lifetime right now by bringing her onto the A show. After all, not everybody can kick Lawrence Jarvis' ass like she just did a few minutes ago. The next Draft pick for Havok is Vespertine.
Nick Webb: I think the beautiful Vespertine sealed her fate with her win over Lawrence Jarvis earlier!
Rayne: And that's how it's done! If you want to turn heads on a night like this, you win! Plain and simple!
Emily Corlen: Darn, I was going to draft her. No worries, I'll see your Vespertine and one up you - with a woman who has proven more than once that she's worthy of competing in the big matches. Tonight, she's going to beat your BWF World Champion. Crisis' next superstar is my old boss in PWA, Elizabeth Davis.
Nick Webb: Wow! Liz Davis is going to Crisis! I have to wonder how she feels about that, considering she's blamed Emily more than once when it comes to not getting the opportunities she feels she deserves.
Rayne: If I were Emily, I'd use this as a chance to start over with Liz, or else she's going to have a very disgruntled young vixen on her hands!
The crowd claps for all the recent Draft picks as the camera centers back on Jen.
Jen Corlen: We're halfway home, ladies and gentlemen. Don't go anywhere; the BWF Draft continues, along with more great BWF in-ring action!
As Jen finishes, Emily stands up.
Emily Corlen: Pardon me. I'll be right back. Right back, I promise!
Emily heads off through the back, leaving Jen and David confused, as the action moves back to the ring.
As the match begins, Kyle Cross (who entered after Casey) bolts down to the ring, leaps onto the apron, then the top rope before aiming a Sentinel Strike (Springboard Superman Punch) at Casey! Casey Campbell barely manages to sidestep the move as the bell rings and when Cross turns around, he is hit with Casey's PWNED!!! (Point-Blank Spear)! The PWNstar then flips Kyle onto his belly and delivers a skull crushing Hashtag (Curb Stomp) before following it up by putting The Scarred Sentinel in his patented Campbell Clutch (Crouching Cobra Clutch), forcing the former BWF World Champion to tap out less than a minute into the match.
WINNER: Casey Campbell, via Submission
LMFAO's "Sexy and I Know It" starts kicking up through the arena and Casey finally breaks the submission before standing up and posing triumphantly over the fallen Kyle Cross.
Nick Webb: Holy crap... that was fast! And we know Kyle Cross is no slouch! We may have just witnessed one of the most impressive, decisive victories in the history of our sport!
Rayne: You ain't kiddin'! If you were going to ask me how this match would go down, I definitely would not have said like that!
Nick Webb: Not to mention... whoa, hold up! That's Rudy Rudo running down to the ring!
Rayne: Oh no! With Casey AND Rudy out here at the same time, I don't think the ring can handle this much rugged manly prettiness!
The music stops as Rudy Rudo rolls in under the bottom rope, walks over to Campbell, and raises his hand in victory. Casey motions to Kyle Cross, who is still out on the ring mat.
Casey Campbell: You want a crack at him?
Rudy Rudo: Of course I do!
Casey and Rudy pick up the limp body of Kyle and put him chest first up against the turnbuckle, where Rudy grabs him around the waist, before performing a backroll for momentum and ending with a dead lift German Suplex!
Rayne: The Homoplexual!
Nick Webb: I'm sorry, the what?!
Rayne: That's what Rudo told me he's renamed that move! He's proud of who he is, Nick, don't be a jerk!
Kyle Cross is out cold, but that doesn't stop Rudo and Campbell from dragging him into a seated position in the nearest corner. Campbell pulls down his trunks to reveal his thong, before backing up into the corner.
Rayne: I think we're going to see a stinkface!
At the last moment, however, 2Rude stops the PWNstar and tells him to wait before reaching under the ring and pulling out a box of Tim Horton's donuts.
Nick Webb: Tim Hortons? Isn't that a Canadian thing?! We're in Japan!
Rayne: They must be imported, Nick! Shut up, this is great!
2Rude picks the biggest jelly donut he can out of the box and holds it in front of the Scarred Sentinel's face. The PWNstar has a shit eating grin on his face as he proceeds to ground the jelly donut into Kyle Cross' face with his ass!
Nick Webb: A jelly donut stinkface. Now I've seen everything.
Rayne: With sprinkles! HA!
Rudy climbs back in the ring and the two men celebrate to a mixed reaction (mostly jeers) before the show fades to a bumper for the BWF ShopZone.
The BWF Draft, Part Four
The camera returns to the Draft center on the stage just in time to see Emily returning to her podium.
Jen Corlen: Are you good? Can we continue?
Emily nods to her sister. David rolls his eyes as he steps up to the mic.
David Blazenwing: Pregnant women, am I right?
He chuckles; most in the crowd do not.
David Blazenwing: Tough crowd. Whatever. Keeping it short and sweet. Draft pick #7 for Havok? A guy who had a hell of a debut earlier tonight. I met him way back when in eWo and I expect great things from him in the BWF now. Havok's next Draft pick is Ashe Corvin.
Nick Webb: A solid pick for Monday Night Havok! Ashe Corvin is a multi-time titleholder in places like eWo, and there's every reason to believe he'll be as successful in BWF.
Rayne: He impressed me with his win over Croft, that's for sure. I look forward to seeing what he can really do in the coming months.
Emily looks a tad bit relieved.
Emily Corlen: Okay, not gonna lie, I was a little worried about that, only because I was afraid David would ruin what I have planned for tonight... BUT, he didn't, so we can move ahead with my plans. Ladies and gentlemen, as the BWF Sovereign Title is now property of Monday Night Crisis, I have full power over it and any associated matches. That includes tonight's main event. As I mentioned previously, neither Johnny nor Minstrel promoted their Championship match in the days leading up to this match. That's fine, it's their prerogative, but I've always felt that the most deserving Champion is one who goes out there and endorses the hell out of this company.
The crowd watches, not sure where Emily is going with this.
Emily Corlen: So, I'm making a radical change to tonight's main event. It will still be Maverick vs. Minstrel for Johnny's Sovereign Championship... but I'm adding another person to the mix. An individual who truly impressed me earlier tonight and, regardless of how the main event goes, I know will continue to impress me every other week on Crisis. Ladies and gentlemen, joining the Crisis roster, and joining tonight's main event for the Sovereign Championship... Zoe Cooper!
The crowd pops at this, perhaps in surprise more than anything else.
Nick Webb: What!? Zoe Cooper is joining Crisis... and has just been added to tonight's main event for the Sovereign Title! That must be why Emily headed backstage!
Rayne: Two matches in one night, and the chance to leave as a Champion in her very first appearance... welcome to the big show, kid! Hope you're ready for the fight of your life!
David Blazenwing: Hey, let's give a rookie the chance to win the oldest title in the BWF because candy and rainbows and unicorns! God, Emily. Your show's already dead in the water. (Laughs) Whatever. Let the little blonde girl kill herself later tonight getting in way over her head. Havok's where it's at anyway, and that's why I'm bringing in the June Superstar of the Month and a former BWF Tag Team Champion with my next Draft pick. The next selection for Havok is Derrick Daze!
Nick Webb: Here's a guy with tremendous potential, joining the Havok roster.
Rayne: And hey, this means he won't have to face Jacob Figgins over on Crisis! No family strife for Daze and Figgins... at least not for now.
Emily Corlen: Fair enough. I'm taking a man who I have all the respect in the world for, even if he doesn't believe so otherwise. He made a statement while I was backstage with his actions alongside Casey Campbell, and I have all the faith in the world that he is a future Champion in every sense of the word. Crisis' next Draft pick isn't just '2Rude'... he's Rudy Rudo!
Nick Webb: Another former Tag Team Champion, and this one heads to Crisis!
Rayne: Rudo doesn't like Emily one bit... I can't wait to see how that dynamic grows moving forward. Mostly because I don't think this guy would hesitate to punch a pregnant woman!
The crowd claps and cheers as we center back on Jen.
Jen Corlen: Just eight more picks to go in this historic Draft... plus what is sure to be an epic Triple Threat Match for the Sovereign Championship! We'll be back after this word from HBO!
With all three competitors in the ring, it’s Apollo Nighthawk getting all the attention, standing seven feet tall in the middle of the ring. Kelly and Jacob seem to come to a non-verbal agreement that it will be in their best interest to take out the big man first as Jacob charges in for a shoulder block, Apollo not even budging from the contact but Jacob staggering backwards. Kelly comes in as Apollo is approaching Jacob and kicks his right leg, causing Apollo to buckle slightly. He turns to Kelly and Jacob quickly goes to the top ropes, Kelly getting grabbed by Apollo but nothing happens to her as Jacob connects with a double-axe handle off the top, knocking Apollo down to one knee. Jacob and Kelly start attacking Apollo with clubbing blows, trying to ground the big man, but Nighthawk isn’t going to take this laying down, so to speak. He powers out, firs forcing Kelly backwards into a nearby corner, and then clubbing Figgins over the head with a right hand from his knee. Apollo gets up and knees Jacob as he comes back, doubling him over and dropping him down on the mat with a quick scoop slam. Kelly charges out of the corner and runs into a sidewalk slam! Kelly coughs on the mat as all the air escapes her body. As Apollo is getting up, Jacob is also getting up and tries to gain an advantage on Nighthawk, kneeing him in the midsection, but Apollo fights through it and grabs his arm, pulling him in for his signature Nightcap (Short Arm Big Boot), but Jacob ducks down and clips his knee from the front!
Nick Webb: Sometimes, it's not great to be the biggest dog in the fight. Sometimes, that makes you nothing but a target!
Jacob gets behind Apollo on his knee and grabs his right arm, setting him up and executing his Another New Crisis (Figgins hooks the targets arm around their own neck, then snaps back, driving the target onto their head with a suplex)! The huge feat of strength receives a pop from the crowd as Jacob goes for a cover, but only gets a one count before Kelly breaks it up, reminding Jacob that he has more than just Apollo to worry about. The two of them get to their feet as Nighthawk rolls to the side of the ring out of instinct, right hands firing from both Kelly and Jacob back and forth. Figgins gets the advantage with brute strength and dazes Kelly into swinging wildly for Jacob, who is able to duck her attempt and wrap his arms around her waist, lifting her up in the air with German Suplex, but rather than release her, he rolls his hips so he can execute his Stay Down (Consecutive German Suplexes and not just three of them), connecting with 4 consecutive German Suplexes before Apollo is back up and breaks them up, grabbing Jacob by the head and throwing him over the top ropes and to the floor!
Rayne: Massive show of strength there from the 7 footer! Apollo is back in this match something fierce!
With Apollo eyeing a weakened Kelly Keagan, she tries to crawl out of the ring to create some separation, but she has her leg grabbed. Nighthawk pulls her back and takes her right arm, pulling her up. Keagan strives to wriggle free, but isn’t able to escape Apollo’s grasp as he lifts Kelly up, looking for his finish, the Nighthawk Cyclone (Tilt-a-whirl Powerbomb), but he’s quickly dropped to the mat from a chp block by Jacob Figgins! Kelly lands on Apollo’s chest as they land and rolls off. Jacob grabs Apollo’s head and spins him to his chest, lifting him up on his knees before flipping over, driving Nighthawk’s head into the mat with a modified Ad Noctum (The McGuillicutter)! Figgins quickly grabs Kelly and throws her over the top rope and down to the floor before quickly diving on Apollo and hooking his large leg, getting the 1 2 3!
WINNER: Jacob Figgins, via Pinfall
"Ad Absurdum" by Arcturus blasts onto the BlazenTron as Jacob Figgins rolls out of the ring and climbs into the crowd, celebrating with the fans. Kelly looks into the ring, disappointed, before grabbing her BWF Tag Team Title and heading up the ramp.
Nick Webb: I think it's safe to say that Jacob Figgins has arrived in BWF, Rayne!
Rayne: He's so weird. And now that he's a competitor and not just a sponsor, I can say that without worrying about costing BWF their deal with the Chaos Theory Brewery!
The BWF Draft, Part Five
Following the end of the last match, we return to the stage, where the C.E.O. and the General Managers are waiting once again to make their next Draft picks.
Jen Corlen: Folks, we're -
David Blazenwing: Jen, just shut up and let me pick already.
Jen turns her attention to the Havok General Manager.
Jen Corlen: Ex-CUSE me?
David doesn't say anything, simply shrugging at his ex-wife.
Jen Corlen: Watch it. Another outburst like that and I'll fire you myself.
Blazenwing shakes his head and rolls his eyes as the crowd cheers.
Jen Corlen: Very well. Please, go ahead.
David Blazenwing: (Muttering) About time. Draft pick number nine, huh? We're getting down to the wire, here. BWF's tag line is "Embrace the future", right? Let's build on that with Havok's next Draft pick. A guy who's sure to be a big deal in the BWF moving forward... Havok selects Apollo Nighthawk.
Nick Webb: A nice selection for Havok! Apollo Nighthawk is a talent to watch, for certain!
Rayne: He just really needs to avoid Triple Threat Matches moving forward! HA!
Emily Corlen: What the Havok General Manager forgets is that there are two parts to the BWF's tag line... not just "Embrace the future", but "Honor the past". The next selection for Crisis is a man who is familiar with both the past and the future of the BWF. He competed here during the old days, back when I was still in college, and I had the honor of facing him a few years ago in eWo. I expect big things from him; Crisis selects the All-Father... Lawrence Jarvis!
Nick Webb: Well, Vespertine got the better of him tonight, but don't let that fool you; Jarvis is a multi-time World Champion, an eWo Hall of Famer... this man has all the tools to be a very big deal in BWF.
Rayne: He just never seems to get the timing right. If that changes, this late pick might end up being considered the sleeper pick of the Draft when we look back a year from now!
David picks up a paper and looks it up and down.
David Blazenwing: Let's see who's left. Hoo boy. Alright, I can work with this. Havok's tenth selection is a guy who had a rough night tonight, but I see greatness in him. Given the opportunity, I think he can and will shine for Monday Night Havok. Our next Draft pick... is Salem Croft.
Nick Webb: Not bad! Croft had a strange debut at Legacy X, but proved his in-ring prowess with an impressive win two weeks ago.
Rayne: He stumbled against Ashe Corvin earlier tonight, but if he can pick himself up after that loss and learn from it, we could easily be looking at a future Hall of Famer!
Emily Corlen: Alright. No worries, like I said, I always have a back-up plan. I'm going with a guy who made the most out of a fantastic debut at Legacy X. He's got a speed-like quality about him and with the right push... you know what? Enough with the bad racing puns. This guy deserves more respect than that and I intend on giving it to him. Crisis selects Veyron!
Nick Webb: The undefeated Veyron comes to Monday Night Crisis!
Rayne: Let's just hope he can keep that streak alive against the stacked talent that Emily has drafted to the show so far and remain in the winner's circle! Also, I'm not quitting the racing puns.
Jen Corlen: We're almost at the end, everybody. Still to come, the final Draft picks for Havok and Crisis, but right now, let's take you to the ring as BWF World Champion and Havok draftee Outlaw takes on Crisis-bound Elizabeth Davis in a non-title match!
Liz and Outlaw lock-up immediately upon the sound of the bell, Outlaw having the experience edge by quite a bit is able to get her in a quick side headlock, sticking his right leg out and executing a headlock takeover, Elizabeth landing flat on her back as Outlaw wrenches on her head, knowing her past with concussions. Not looking to be stuck in the hold, Liz forces Outlaw’s head back a bit so she can wrap her legs around his neck, getting him in a head scissors. Outlaw quickly kip-ups out of it and Liz scrambles to her feet, Outlaw charging towards her looking to knee her in the side of the head, but Liz pulls back to force Outlaw to miss. Davis spins 180 degrees on the mat, sweeping Outlaw’s legs out from under him and she grabs ahold of Outlaw’s right leg, getting up and leaping in the air, driving her knee into the inside of Outlaw’s leg. She pulls back on his leg, putting torque on his knee, however the champ is close to the ropes and quickly forces a break. Outlaw, rather than wait for Liz to break though, uses his left leg and catches her right under the jaw with a stiff kick.
Nick Webb: Oh! He might have knocked out a few of Liz's teeth with that nasty kick!
Liz falls back and Outlaw uses the ropes to get to his feet, a slight smirk on his face as he gingerly walks over to her. She’s starting to get up, but is helped by the champ and hooked up, being dropped right on the back of her head this time with a reverse ddt. Outlaw goes for a cover, but Elizabeth kicks out at two. Outlaw doesn’t seem discouraged, just grabbing Elizabeth by the hair and lifting her up to her feet. Liz tries to fight back with an forearm smash, catching Outlaw off guard, forcing him to release her and she quickly connects with a stiff kick to Outlaw’s right knee, straight on. Outlaw falls to one knee and Davis quickly locks his head, driving him straight into the mat with a DDT. She quickly shoots a half and hooks both his legs, but Outlaw kicks out at one.
Rayne: Nowhere close to enough to keep the BWF World Champion down!
Outlaw gets up rather quickly, trying not to put too much weight on his right leg as Liz approaches, looking to capitalize, but she catches a thumb to the eye for her trouble. Outlaw fires left and right jabs now at Liz before whipping her into the far corner, quickly following her in with charging elbow to the side of her head, Liz falls into a seated position after that blow. Outlaw backs up to the center of the ring before charging in with a stiff kick aimed right at her temple, making contact and forcing Liz’s eyes to roll back in her head. The crowd stays silent as they watch on, seeing Outlaw lift Liz up to her feet, she’s noticeably dazed at this point as she’s lifted off her feet for a backdrop, once again the back of her head hitting the mat upon landing. Outlaw gets out on the apron and starts climbing up, looking down at his prone opponent. He leaps off the top rope for a diving leg drop, but Liz is able to roll out of the way! Outlaw lands on the mat and rolls over to his chest, holding his leg.
Nick Webb: That's why they call it high risk, ladies and gentlemen! Outlaw landed hard there, and now, I think Liz might have an opening - if she can recover quick enough to capitalize!
With both competitors down, it’s a race to who can get to their feet first, Outlaw having the edge in the race despite his injured leg. Liz is holding her head as she stands, Outlaw goes in with another jab, but Liz blocks it and goes to kick his leg again, but he in turn catches her foot, spinning her around, he runs past her towards the opposite ropes, springboarding off the ropes and as Liz turns to see what was happening, she’s caught with an Asai DDT! Outlaw goes for another cover but Liz kicks out just before three! Outlaw looks a little concerned at that, but stays on top of things as he lifts her up, but that proves to be a mistake as she’s able to quickly force his hands off her and leap in the air, connecting with a C-C-C-Combo Breaker!
Rayne: Matt Stone's most famous move! No doubt a tribute to the Abominable Showman!
Nick Webb: It could be a tribute to AJ Adams.
Rayne: AJ Adams, Matt Stone, Elizabeth Davis... Half-Life 3 confirmed?
Elizabeth is able to drape her arm across Outlaw’s chest for the cover here. 1, 2, 3-no! Outlaw is able to kick out before the three count. Elizabeth gets to her feet, holding her head still, as Outlaw is slow to his feet as well. Davis gets behind Outlaw and goes for her Dis-Knee-Land (Back Stabber), but Outlaw lunges forward and grabs the top rope to ensure that she fails and lands on the mat, her back and head making contact. Outlaw turns around quickly and lifts her up, setting her up for his Breaking the Law (Canadian Destroyer), but Liz counters that with a double leg takedown!
Nick Webb: Outlaw ready to end it - no, Liz counters out of it!
Without missing a beat, Elizabeth spins around with Outlaw’s leg, but his other leg comes up square on her behind and pushes her off into the ropes, hitting her throat on the top rope, giving Outlaw enough time to get to his feet. he dashes towards her and she catches him, lifting him up, but he’s able to spin out of it in the air and grab her head, bringing her down with his Unlawful (Tilt-a-Whirl DDT)! Liz is flat on her stomach and is easily rolled over, Outlaw hooking her outside leg and getting the 1, 2 - NO! At the last second, Liz gets her shoulder up and the crowd goes nuts!
Rayne: HOW did she kick out of that!?
Nick Webb: Liz has been saying all along we've been underestimating her - it's starting to look like she was right!
Outlaw curses under his breath and pulls Liz up to hit her with a second Unlawful, but before he can execute the move, "Lights Out" by P.O.D. starts blaring over the arena's sound system! Outlaw immediately drops Liz and turns to face the stage, ready for a fight!
Rayne: What's AJ Adams doing coming out here now? We've got a match going on!
Several moments pass and nobody comes out on the stage. Outlaw stands, waiting, but finally the music stops playing, leaving no AJ Adams and the crowd very confused. As Outlaw shakes his head confusedly, he is suddenly rolled up from behind by Liz! The referee drops to the mat and before anybody knows what happened, he counts the three!
WINNER: Elizabeth Davis, via Pinfall
"Mr. Night" by Kenny Loggins plays throughout the arena as Liz Davis quickly rolls out of the ring, grinning and laughing. She shouts out "I told you so!" as Outlaw drops to his knees in shock before yelling at the referee that there's no way that was a three count. Liz makes her way up the ramp before blowing a kiss in Outlaw's direction, who is still incensed and arguing with the referee.
Nick Webb: I don't believe it! Crisis' Liz Davis just pinned Havok's BWF World Champion Outlaw! What a victory for the Disney Princess!
Rayne: Outlaw can't believe it! Hell, I can't believe it!
Nick Webb: Well, whatever happens with the World Title scene on Crisis, I have to believe that Liz Davis just got herself on the short list of top contenders for that honor!
The BWF Draft, Part Six
Jen Corlen: Congratulations, Liz! What a match that was, and folks, we've still got one hell of a main event coming your way! But first, let's hand it over to BWF's General Managers as they make the final Draft picks for their brand!
David Blazenwing: Finally. Alright, there's just a handful of people left. I'm going to use Havok's 11th Draft pick and stick it to my 'good buddy' Gabriel Shelley after his little dog and pony show on the last Havok. That's right, Gabe... I'm drafting your girlfriend! (Laughs) I select 'Sister Sin' Kandi Kash as the next member of the Havok roster!
Nick Webb: A draft pick with potential for Monday Night Havok! Also sure to be a blow to Emily Corlen, who spent months trying to woo Kash into joining the BWF roster!
Rayne: Emily doesn't get to complain, considering she had the entire show to draft Kandi if she really wanted her! If anything, I'd complain if I was Kandi!
Emily Corlen: Sorry, Alicia... just don't look Dave directly in the eyes and you'll be fine, I promise!
David glares over at Emily, who ignores him and continues.
Emily Corlen: Crisis' next Draft pick is a man I've known for years. I have tons of respect for him and I'd love to see him succeed in BWF. Right now, he's off filming a movie, of all things, but when he comes back, watch out! And yes, I'm being serious! The next selection for Crisis in tonight's Draft is Gary Maverick!
Rayne: Gary's still employed?
Nick Webb: Of course he is, Rayne! Gary Maverick has done an amazing job traveling all over the world, promoting the BWF! Plus, just imagine the publicity the company will get when his new movie comes out! Rumor is, Emily might even get an Associate Producer credit in the film as part of the deal to let him take time off and make it!
Rayne: ...I should be in a movie...
David Blazenwing: Awesome. Not gonna lie, didn't really want Gary Maverick. Instead, I'm going to take his superpowered brother. Also, fuck the Mavericks, I want to split them up just to be a dick. He may be injured right now, but he is now the property of Monday Night Havok... our final Draft pick, Spykeman!
Nick Webb: I'm confused, Rayne. Why all the talk of Mavericks when drafting Spykeman!? His secret identity is a mystery, although the popular rumor is that he's Simon Kalis under that mask.
Rayne: Really? Really?
Nick Webb: Of course! All he needs to do is change his body type, height, weight, race and hair color! Totally believable for a superhero!
Emily Corlen: Aww. That's alright. You go ahead and draft an injured man; I'm going to take a guy who is perfectly healthy. His debut didn't go very well tonight, but hey, I lost my television debut, too, and still ended up becoming a four-time World Champion. I have big hopes for this man, the final draft pick for Monday Night Crisis... The Savior!
Nick Webb: The Savior is coming to Crisis!
Rayne: You can only go up from here, kid! Keep pushing forward! As J-Mav would say, 'never give up, never surrender, never relent'!
Nick Webb: Did you actually just quote Johnny Maverick? YOU?
Rayne: I know. I think I need to take a long shower now.
Jen Corlen: And there you have it, ladies and gentlemen! The 2013 BWF Draft is complete! Congratulations to all of the BWF talent, and as the C.E.O., I look forward to seeing how all of you do in your new environs. And don't worry... I'll be keeping a close eye on both of your General Managers.
Jen smiles at David and Emily, who simply look at one another.
Jen Corlen: Visit the BWF website after the show is over for more comprehensive Draft coverage, including a recap of where everybody was drafted and backstage reactions from your favorite BWF superstars regarding the event. But right now, it's time for tonight's main event... don't change that channel!
We see one last shot of the C.E.O. and the General Managers on the stage before fading out to a commercial hyping up Retribution on pay-per-view.
Coming Soon on Pay-Per-View
After the shock sets in from Zoe Cooper making her way to the ring the referee hands off the Sovereign Championship to Scott Benjamin and the bell sounds to start the bout. The three competitors begin to circle each other as Cooper, the smallest of the three competitors, takes her eyes off the Minstrel for a moment which leads to his opening. He drops her to the mat with a running forearm smash to the back of her head and immediately jumps over to Johnny Maverick and the two men start to exchange left and rights. Minstrel quickly backs Maverick into the corner before sending him across the ring and hard into the far turnbuckle. Minstrel follows and plants a foot into Mavericks chest and flips backwards and lands on his feet. He turns around and walks right into Zoe Cooper’s Roundabout (Spinning heel kick) that busts him right in the jaw. Minstrel falls backwards to the mat as Maverick comes out from the corner and locks up with Cooper.
Nick Webb: What an opening to this match so far, Rayne.
Rayne: I still can’t believe that Zoe Cooper is in this match. Sure, she looked pretty good earlier, but I think this is just a statement match by Emily Corlen, showing that anything can happen and it’s exciting. She’s clearly trying to show she’s going to be the more exciting General Manager.
Nick Webb: Not to mention it's a great way to outdo the match that her fellow General Manager, David Blazenwing, put together!
The newcomer gets tied up by the veteran Maverick and placed in a side headlock. He flips her over and onto her back and right back into a headlock on the mat. He slides down and locks in an arm wrench on Cooper and applies pressure as she quickly refuses any offer to submit. Maverick looks up and gets rocked with a running dropkick from Minstrel that breaks the hold. Minstrel dives into a cover on Cooper but only gets a one count. Cooper climbs to her feet and ducks under a clothesline attempt by Minstrel and then another one from Maverick who has also gotten back to his feet. Cooper hits the drops and dropkicks both men, one with each foot, and rolls to her feet as the fans seem surprised by the spunk from the new girl. Maverick is pretty quick to his feet and just as Cooper starts to charge again her drops her with a spear.
Rayne: What a spear!
Nick Webb: Just as Cooper started to gain some steam she gets leveled with a spear from the Sovereign Champion.
The crowd lets out a collective “oooh” as Maverick turns Cooper inside out and gets back to his feet. The Sovereign Champion spins around and just as Minstrel gets to his feet Maverick is there and drops him with the OF!MF! [Oh Fuck! My Face!] (A Running Shotei [Palm Strike to the Face]) and jumps into a cover but only gets two. Maverick pulls Minstrel to his feet by his hair and lands a hard kick to the side before taking Minstrel right back down with a suplex. With Maverick in control of the match at this point he takes turns going back and forth between small attacks on Cooper and Minstrel to keep them both down.
Nick Webb: Johnny Maverick is really in control of this match right now and he’s being smart about it. Wear down your opponents until you get the opening to finish it.
Maverick takes a little too long with some stomps on Minstrel and on the other side of the ring Cooper is starting to get to her feet. He turns his attention to her and looks for a hard MMA style kick that echoes as it bounces off her left thigh. She swings back a kick of her own that connects with Johnny’s calf, then another to his thigh, then another to his knee. Maverick steps forward and starts to repeatedly kick Cooper in her thigh. Cooper is able to block one of Maverick’s kicks and looks to connect with the Roundabout but Johnny ducks and pulls off the Maverick Special (Two Rolling German Suplexes, followed by a Bridging Dragon Suplex). He stays bridged and looks for a pin but Minstrel breaks up the attempt at two.
Nick Webb: A very nice back and forth there between Maverick and Cooper.
Rayne: Unfortunately for Johnny he gave the Minstrel time to recover.
The crowd can’t believe it and is really involved in the match with cheers and jeers. Minstrel starts to lay into Maverick with jumping knees and crashing down onto his chest. He repeatedly connects until Maverick is finally able to roll away and to his knees. Cooper is back up and walks right into the Ferris Wheel Drop (Spinning Heel Kick followed by a Spinning Leg Drop) from Minstrel. Before he can go for the pinfall attempt Maverick pulls him away and looks for another Maverick Special. Before he can go for the dragon suplex however Cooper comes flying out of nowhere with the Pounce (Flying Body Press) that takes both men down.
Rayne: Where in the HELL did she come from?
Nick Webb: Cooper not giving up just yet!
She grabs Johnny and puts him into the corner tree of woe style and points at him as the crowd eats it up. Cooper comes from the far corner and connects with her Electric Slide (Baseball Slide to an Opponent Hanging Upside Down in the Corner)! Maverick flips over and rolls out of the ring as Minstrel starts to get back to his feet. He charges and Cooper looks for a clothesline but he ducks right under it and quickly jumps to the top rope. He springboards off the middle ropes to the top and looks for the Circus Atmosphere (Springboard Mooonsault off the top rope into an Inverted DDT) but Cooper dodges it with a roll. Minstrel lands on his feet and drops him with the Revolutions Per Minute (Rolling Dodge into a Spear). She quickly pulls him to his feet and connects with the 'Coop' de Etat (Rolling DDT) and scores the pin before Maverick can get back into the ring!
WINNER AND NEW SOVEREIGN CHAMPION: Zoe Cooper, via Pinfall
"Renegade" by Paramore hits the BlazenTron and Zoe Cooper jumps up in shock, as if she can't believe she just won the match.
Rayne: I don’t believe it!
Nick Webb: Unbelievable! Zoe Cooper just caught lightning in a bottle and became the new BWF Sovereign Champion on her first night! ANYTHING can happen in the BWF!
The crowd can’t believe it either as they cheer the effort put on by the newcomer and Johnny Maverick holds his head on the outside on the ring, leaning against the apron. He just shakes his head before heading up the ramp as the referee hands Cooper the Sovereign title. She hugs the title and starts to celebrate in the ring as the crowd cheers for the rookie.
Nick Webb: Folks, in one of the most memorable nights in BWF history, we witnessed not only the start of a new era in the BWF with the Draft, but the unlikely emergence of a new star who went from being a nobody to winning the oldest Championship in the company in the span of just under two hours!
Rayne: We're gonna be talking about this one for a long time, Nick!
Nick Webb: No doubt about that! Ladies and gentlemen, thank you very much for tuning in for tonight's historic show! We'll see you next week on the brand new FXX Network for the return of Monday Night Crisis! Don't miss a second of it!
We see one final shot of Zoe Cooper celebrating with the Sovereign Championship before finally fading to the BWF logo, and then to black.
