Episode 127 - November 12, 2007
As BWF Havok came on the air this week, the fans were at a fevered pitch for the Wreckless rematch, pitting BWF Champion Mark McNasty against Gabe Shelley in a non-title match. However, the match itself never got started as the two friends inexplicably started brawling backstage before the show even went to air! The fans cheered loudly as the action spilled out to ringside before security finally pulled the two apart. Screams of “That title is my DESTINY!” from Gabe Shelley as David Blazenwing and Ryan Maanya appeared on the stage. David then took the mic and announced that this animosity between friends had to stop; even if it means drastic means. Therefore, next week on Havok, it would be Mark McNasty defending the BWF Championship against Gabe Shelley - in the first-ever freely broadcast Hell in a Cell Match! The crowd booed a bit (Sorry Canucks, we couldn‘t get the cell up tonight) but many still cheered at the prospect of Hell in a Cell in one week.
The camera moved backstage, where we saw Golden Warrior talking to Chamelion. GW felt the need to prove himself by winning the Gauntlet Run on November 26; Chamelion told Warrior it wasn’t necessary. GW disagreed, then told Cham that, should he win, Chamelion owed him lunch. The two then shared an intense staredown before shaking hands.
Back to the ring, as Casey Campbell and Eliminator entered the fray in a hard-hitting contest. For nearly five minutes, the action went back and forth, but the end came via a lucky break for Campbell, as MC appeared, jumped onto the apron and flipped off Eliminator, distracting him long enough for Casey to roll him up and grab a handful of tights for the win.
WINNER: Casey Campbell, via Pinfall
As Casey and MC celebrated up the ramp, Eliminator stared down the duo, exclaiming that “this isn’t over!”
Backstage again, we joined Blazenwing and Maanya in their office; Blazenwing talked about how the Gauntlet Run was coming together impressively, and how it was going to be a sight to behold in two week’s time. Maanya listed the entrants thus far, with a lot of impressive names and former BWF stars all making a special return for the contest. “It’s gonna be wild, Ryan. It’s gonna be wild.”
The action returned to the ring for the main event of the evening - a Two Falls, Double Title match pitting United States Champion Chamelion against International Champion Alex Wilkie and contender Fire. As stated by Scott Benjamin in the intro to the match, the first fall would be conducted for the United States Title, the second for the International. With all three competitors in the ring, the bell rang, and Fire and Alex Wilkie turned their collective attention on Chamelion. Together, the two cornered Chamelion and took control, throwing the Devious one out of the ring. As Chamelion tried to get back in, the two kicked or otherwise got in his way, frustrating Chamelion to the point where he just grabbed a chair, sat down and gave the two the finger. Pleased, the two turned on each other and battled ferociously for almost ten full minutes, each gaining the advantage and hitting all their signature moves, putting on a clinic of a match! Meanwhile, outside the ring, Chamelion had fetched a bottle of water and just sat back, enjoying the show.
As the heat grew, Fire went for the Season Ender, kicking Alex square in the jaw! As he landed hard, and she went for the cover, Chamelion stood and grabbed the ref’s leg, pulling him out of the ring. The ref screamed at Chamelion who just shrugged and as Fire came over to cuss Chamelion out, he splashed her with his water, presumably to cool her down! As she growled, Wilkie got up and spun her around, and hit the Grade A Knockout! He went for the cover, as the ref slid in, and Chamelion followed, and together Chamelion and the ref counted 1-2… and then Chamelion stopped suddenly and the ref did as well, but the ref looked confused… apparently Chamelion’s mimicking caught him off guard, as Fire never got a shoulder up!
Wilkie stood and got in Chamelion’s face, who acted innocently, until Wilkie slapped him across the cheek. Chamelion answered with a right hook and the two went toe to toe! Chamelion backed Wilkie into the ropes and whipped him across the ring and then hit a solid standing drop kick! Quickly he followed it up with the Rolling Thunder Leg drop! Back to his feet, Chamelion turned as Fire wobbled to her feet and he grabbed her and hit a fisherman’s suplex. Dusting his hands as he stood, Chamelion smirked as he considered which to go for when the crowd screamed and he turned as Mr. Showtime jumped on the apron! Chamelion went for the SOS again on him, but Mr. Showtime grabbed his leg and brought it down on the top rope! Chamelion fell backwards as Fire and Wilkie both got up and caught him, sending him to the canvas with a double back body drop!
Both then picked Chamelion up and Fire hit the Season Ender on him and he turned dazed into Wilkie’s Grade A knockout! Alex covered but Fire pulled him off and covered! Wilkie then grabbed her and threw her off, and in doing so, Mr. Showtime again was on the apron yelling at him! Wilkie got in his face and Fire spun Wilkie and went for the Season Ender, but Wilkie ducked it and turned and hit the Grade A knockout and covered... 1-2-3! Alex Wilkie won the first fall and captured the United States Championship!
WINNER OF FIRST FALL AND NEW UNITED STATES CHAMPION: Alex Wilkie, via Pinfall
Angry, Mr. Showtime tried to get in the ring, but the ref got in the middle. Alex Wilkie jumped up, and heard the announcer name him the new United States Champion! He felt the exhilaration of sweet revenge, taking a title from Chamelion. He turned and flipped off Mr. Showtime and with the ref between them, taunted him that he just pinned Fire yet again. Suddenly, Mr. Showtime smiled and Wilkie raised an eyebrow. He turned around, and his eyes go wide as Chamelion connected with the S.O.S! Wilkie tumbled to the canvas and Chamelion rolled on top…1-2-3! Chamelion won the second fall and, in a smattering of poetic justice, won the International Championship after losing his U.S. title to the former International Champion moments before!
WINNER OF SECOND FALL AND NEW INTERNATIONAL CHAMPION: Chamelion, via Pinfall
Chamelion stood, wobbly as his hand was raised and Mr. Showtime mockingly clapped for the victory. Chamelion took the International title in his hands and stared at it for a moment. Then, without warning, he dropped it and connected with the S.O.S. on Mr. Showtime! As Mr. Showtime laid on the floor outside the ring, Chamelion picked the IT title up, went to the ropes and held it up in the air, and loudly proclaimed that he wanted Mr. Showtime at Gauntlet Run for the International Championship!!!
Turning, Chamelion watched Wilkie stumble to his feet, and went over and smacked him in the chest once, showing respect for the hard fought battle... and then as Fire leaned against the ropes groggily, he went to her and said something in her ear. She looked at him, confused before nodding and Chamelion exited the ring to his music, as the camera faded to the BWF logo, then to black.
