Episode 126 - November 5, 2007
Just eight days removed from Wreckless pay-per-view, and the race to the fifth annual Gauntlet Run began Monday night on Havok! With a night full of returns and surprises, no one was safe and even fewer were prepared.
As Havok hit the airwaves, Mark McNasty's BWF Title Celebration began when "Paradise City" by Guns N Roses started to play. McNasty came out to pyro, BWF title over his shoulder, and celebrated with the fans all the way to the ring. Once he was inside the ring, confetti and balloons began to fall. McNasty thanked all his "Nastynites" for their support, even if it was only from their homes, and had a ring assistant pour him a glass of apple juice... in a wine glass. McNasty said that this title run would be a better representation of his ability, and that this one meant more to him. McNasty went on a little longer before Rage Against the Machine's "Bulls on Parade" began to play. The new International Champion Alex Wilkie came out to boos from the crowd after McNasty had hyped them up for so long.
Wilkie said that he planned to decimate McNasty now, and then take that pretty title from him at Gauntlet Run. However, the whole time Wilkie was talking, McNasty was smiling in the ring. Wilkie finally snapped at McNasty and asked, "What the hell is so funny?!" McNasty basically said that while he wouldn't mind all that, there was one little problem… earlier in the day, McNasty figured he should get some protection in case someone did try to rain on his parade. And, he did indeed find someone willing to watch his back, as long as he promised them the first title shot... and he did just that.
Out of nowhere, a man came from behind the curtains and nailed Wilkie. As Wilkie fell to the ground, we saw the man behind him… was Gabe Shelley! Gabe stared down at Wilkie with a look of indifference, but then looked up at McNasty with a look like something wasn't sitting right with him. McNasty just smirked, blissfully unaware, and raised his glass of apple juice to Gabe; but Gabe huffed, and just turned around and returned to the back.
The first match of the night began after the commercial, as Icetank went one-on-one with Wacko Marko in a rematch from a few weeks back, this time for #1 Contendership for the United States Championship. Icetank was determined to make his mark in this match and prove he could beat Wacko Marko after narrowly losing to him before, and falling just short of winning the U.S. Title at Wreckless. Marko, as a result, got in very little offense and, in a short match, Icetank was able to lure Marko into the corner long enough to score with a BFP (Butterfinger Pop - Old school into sit down west coast pop pin) for the win.
WINNER: Icetank, via Pinfall
Backstage, we saw Mr. Showtime getting ready for his return match with Kyle Richards. As he finished lacing up his boots, Fire and Lestat - the Society of Chaos - appeared beside him. Fire asked Showtime to be in her corner tonight in her title match. Showtime looked to Lestat, then to Fire, and nodded, telling her to “count on it” before pecking her on the cheek and heading towards the ring.
After the commercial, we came back in the progress of Kyle Richard’s ring entrance. Mr. Showtime’s theme, “Cancer California” by Bullets & Octane, hit and the fans started cheering loudly as Showtime made his way into the ring. The match began as both Showtime and Richards tied up. Richards whipped Showtime into the ropes, and when Showtime came back, he leaned in and reared back with a massive Season Ender (Sweet Chin Music) to get the quick three on the former BWF X-Division Champion!
WINNER: Mr. Showtime, via Pinfall
After the ring cleared, BWF Owner David Blazenwing and his Executive Assistant Ryan Maanya made their way to the ring with a contract - the contract of Dan “Eliminator” Harvey. DB grabbed the mic and said that Eliminator was still under contract with BWF, despite his little “stunt” pulled last year, where he faked his own death. As such, Blazenwing demanded that Eliminator show up tonight and make good on his contract, or else stand in breach of it and get sued for everything he had. As the crowd booed, David explained that even BWF had to protect his investments, and - but before he could go any further, the fans popped loudly; Eliminator had gotten into the ring behind Blazenwing and Maanya!
DB and Maanya turned around, but before they could talk to Eliminator, he grabbed the contract from Blazenwing. Eliminator looked the contract up and down, then smashed the clipboard over his knee, breaking it in two! As the fans cheered, Eliminator began to approach DB and Maanya, when suddenly, he turned around, only to get… PWNED?! The crowd booed loudly as Casey Campbell stood over Eliminator, smirking wildly. Blazenwing then said “Harvey, say hello to my insurance policy… Casey Campbell! Next week, you’re going to get to meet him up close and personal… because you’re going to be fighting him one on one! And if you don’t show up… you will be sued!”
Back from commercial, as Jester the Clown came out with Mr. J, while Golden Warrior came out by himself. The match - Jester vs. GW - started off in Golden Warrior’s favor, only because he had seen Jester fight first hand, while Jester didn't know much about GW. The tide changed though, when GW went to the ropes, and Mr. J grabbed his foot, causing GW to fall on his face. Warrior didn’t have time to recover as Jester started stomping on him violently. However, he stopped as the fans started cheering. Jester's attention went to the ramp, where reigning United States Champion Chamelion was slowly walking down the ramp with an agitated look on his face!
As Jester was distracted, GW went for a roll up, but Jester kicked out at two. Chamelion just stood at ringside, watching the match for the next few minutes. At one point, Jester managed to trip GW. GW staggered long enough for Jester to grab him and set up for the Laughing Dose (Rock Bottom), but GW surprised everyone when he countered with the Power Play (High knee to the gut, followed by hard DDT)! On the outside, Chamelion was smiling to the fans and saying that his buddy is the one kicking ass. On the other side of the ring, Mr. J was also talking to the fans; "Ooo, that had to hurt! HAHA!" Mr. J turned around and began telling Jester to get back in the match. GW went for a pin finally, but only got two. The match started getting high pace now as both men felt they had something to prove. But, just as it was getting started, it stopped when Mr. J got on the apron. GW didn’t like this and went over to confront him. While this was happening, Jester smiled evilly and went for a corner. He took off a turnbuckle cover, and then gave Mr. J the ok symbol. Mr. J started laughing at the referee as he got down.
Chamelion, halfway to Mr. J when he got down, stops. He lifted an eyebrow, as if sensing something was wrong. GW turned around and was met by a hard punch from Jester. Jester then grabbed GW and threw him at the exposed turnbuckle. GW stopped himself though, and pointed to his head, trying to show off some brains. GW apparently could not hear the screams coming from Chamelion on the outside, though, as he turned around to see the face of Jester, laughing hysterically in his face. Before GW could react, Jester used his trademark headbutt on GW, and sent him head first into the exposed turnbuckle. GW bounced back and, this time, Jester connected with the Laughing Dose (Rock Bottom) to get the three.
WINNER: Jester the Clown, via Pinfall
However, the doesn't stop the party! When Jester wouldn't get off of GW, Chamelion dove in to bail out his buddy, and ended up brawling with Jester all the way to the back. Meanwhile, back in the ring, Mr. J moved inside the ring to inspect the fallen Golden Warrior. Mr. J bent over and laughed in GW's face, but this ended quickly as GW moved so that he kicked Mr. J in the face, sending him to the mat. What followed was a quick beating to Mr. J, capped off by the Road to Respect (Vertebreaker) from GW. GW then got a mic and told Mr. J that "You... got... BEAT!" GW left the ring. When the medics arrived in the ring, and we saw Mr. J again, he looked to be semi-conscious... and laughing?
After the final commercial of the night, the main event began as Fire came down to the ring with her Society of Chaos - Lestat and Mr. Showtime - in tow. Alex Wilkie came down next, posing for the fans despite their boos. Finally, Chamelion hit the scene, fresh from his brawl with Jester the Clown, yet he still managed to find time to grab a ref’s shirt before heading to the ring. The bell rang and Wilkie and Fire started to go at it - but not with the same intensity they had at Wreckless, as they each kept an eye on the Devious One, Chamelion.
After a few minutes of back and forth action, Fire hit her Season Ender (Sweet Chin Music) on Wilkie, then covered, but narrowly only got two. Mr. Showtime jumped onto the apron to start yelling at Chamelion, but Cham merely answered him with his own super kick, the Sweet Sound of Success! As Lestat checked on Showtime and Fire started yelling at Chamelion, Wilkie recovered and came up behind Fire, spinning her around before dropping her to the mat with a lightning-quick A+ Knock Out (TKO). Wilkie hooked the leg and, three seconds later, successfully retained the International Championship.
WINNER AND STILL INTERNATIONAL CHAMPION: Alex Wilkie, via Pinfall
As the fans half-cheered half-booed, Chamelion picked up the International Title and held it out for Wilkie. Alex took the belt… but Cham didn’t let go. Wilkie tugged on the belt again, leaving Chamelion to grin maliciously before dropping the Champ to the mat with the Rupture (Rock Bottom)! Chamelion then picked up the International Title and his own United States Title and rolled out of the ring before heading up the ramp, as Havok faded to the BWF logo, then to black.
