Episode 125 - October 22, 2007
With six days to go before Wreckless on pay-per-view, BWF Havok comes to the Fleet Center in Boston, Massachusetts, and in the main event, RXW makes an unlikely return, as Mark McNasty and JC Shelley face off in the first-ever BWF sanctioned RXW Rules Match - meaning no rope breaks, no disqualifications and no countouts! The only way to win is by pinfall or submission - who will come out on top?
The show opened David Blazenwing in his office. The boss’ phone rings and he picks it up, only to hear his lawyer frantic on the other line. Apparently, he’s got some news -- Dan Harvey, better known to BWF fans as Eliminator… is alive?!
The bell rang as the first contest of the night started - Icetank & Jester the Clown against Michelle Richards & Alli Taylor, all combatants in this Sunday’s United States Championship match at Wreckless. Jester and Alli started the match out and fought all over the ring, with Alli keeping Jester on the ropes. Jester tossed her into the corner at one point and went for a spear, but Alli moved and Jester flew right into the ringpost! Alli posed and the fans cheered as Jester angrily rolled across the ring and tagged in Icetank, who immediately charged for Alli. The smaller, faster Taylor was quick enough to run circles around the IT MF’er, however, and with Icetank unable to get his hands on Alli, she was able to trip him, then leap off the ropes with a quick Blowing in the Wind (Lionsault) for two. Alli got up and called for the Jersey Cutter (Twist of Fate) as Icetank slowly pulled himself to his feet, but from out of nowhere, Michelle Richards reached into the ring and blind tagged Alli! As Taylor watched on confused, Richards got into the ring and went for The Passion (Sharpshooter), but Icetank used his power to toss Michelle off. IT stood up and when Michelle got to her feet, Tank caught her with The Shatterslam (Mandible claw into chokeslam with mandible claw still applied - can result in either pin or submission), then pinned her for the three!
WINNERS: Icetank and Jester the Clown, via Pinfall
After the bell, Icetank celebrated as Alli cussed out Michelle, then left the ring. Jester got into the ring and went to celebrate with Icetank, but IT dead lifted Jester and slammed him into the mat with an earth-shattering Tombstone Piledriver! At Wreckless, there are no partners, it’s winner take all for the U.S. Title!
Before going to commercial, a strange video first seen on TheBWF.com last week played on the BlazenTron. No clues were given in the hype video, other than whoever the video was about would show up at Wreckless. Who will it be?
The action returned to the ring as the first of two International/U.S. Title Tournament Semi-final matches began, pitting Alex Wilkie against Wacko Marko. Wilkie started big and used his momentum to keep Marko on the ropes, but the Wacky One soon halted that with a massive Spear out off the ropes! Wacko became serious as he started working on Wilkie’s legs, knowing what was at stake. He even put Wilkie in a figure-four leg lock, getting a mass amount of “WOO”s from the crowd. Wilkie got to the ropes though and fought his way back into the match, and although he was hobbling a slight bit, he was able to beat on Marko enough to line up and hit his A+ Knock Out (TKO) and get the pinfall.
WINNER: Alex Wilkie, via Pinfall
As Havok came back from commercial, Alli Taylor was seen walking backstage, ready to leave the arena in a huff. She was stopped, however, by “Stutterfly” Starla Gardevoir, who told her she saw what happened out there, and that if Alli had a real tag team partner - not unlike herself - that would have never happened. Alli asked Starla what her point was, and Starla said that she had a BWF Tag Team Championship match this Sunday at Wreckless… but she had no partner and wanted to know if Alli would be that partner. Alli thought about it for a moment, stating that she already had a U.S. Title Match this Sunday. Starla asked what would be a better deal… competing against five others for the U.S. Title, or joining her against two others for the Tag Team Titles? Alli finally nodded and said “Alright, you’re on. See you Sunday.”
Back in the ring, the second International/U.S. Title Tournament Semi-final matche began as Fire took on Xameneoh. With both grapplers skilled in the technical arts, they aimed to put on a technical masterpiece and didn’t disappoint the fans at home or in attendance. Fire had the early advantage after catching Xame off guard with a Meltdown (Piledriver) into a triangle choke, but Xameneoh managed to crawl to the ropes and get out of it. More chain wrestling occurred before Xame caught Fire with a Scissors lock into a pin for a close two count before Fire rolled the pin into her own attempt, also for two before Xame rolled back into his own pinning attempt, ALSO getting two before the scissors lock was finally broken and the two grapplers came to their feet. Fire charged Xameneoh, but Xame was ready, catching Fire with a Snapmare flip into a dropkick to the face, but before he could kick Fire, she caught his legs and countered into a Burn (Sharpshooter)! The fans chanted a dueling “Let’s go Xame/Let’s go Fire” chant as Xame crawled for the ropes, but in the center of the ring, and realizing he had an uphill battle to even reach the ropes, Xame started rocking back and forth, and in an amazing show of his willpower, rolled over Fire and was able to lock in his own version of the Sharpshooter, dubbed the Twisting Flesh! As Fire screamed in agony, Xame pulled back farther and farther, his head touching hers. Fire pulled herself with all her adrenaline, reaching for the ropes and was able to grab the bottom rope. Xame let go of the hold and kneeled down, almost stalking Fire as she slowly pulled herself to her feet. She stood up and Xameneoh went for his Breaking Point (Backcracker), but Fire instinctually grabbed the ropes, causing Xame to slam into the mat. Xame rolled to his feet and went for Fire again, but this time, the vixen was ready as she used her last bit of strength and cracked Xameneoh under the chin with her Season Ender (Sweet Chin Music), then covered Xame to get the 1, 2, 3 and the win!
WINNER: Fire, via Pinfall
Back in the bosses office, David Blazenwing was talking with Starla Gardevoir and Alli Taylor. DB asked Alli if she really wanted to pull out of the running for the U.S. Championship to go for the Tag Titles, and she said yes. David said alright, then noted that there were now only five competitors for the U.S. Title at Wreckless… just enough people to hold the U.S. Title’s signature match, the King of the Mountain Match! Starla and Alli left as David smirked and said “Now, just wait til they see what I have in store for the BWF Championship match!”
Finally, the stage was set for the first-ever RXW Rules Match contested in BWF, and after the last couple of weeks, it was a long time coming as JC Shelley went one on one with Mark McNasty. Mark came down to the ring first, looking serious as hell, with his old BWF Championship belt over his shoulder. JC came down to the ring next, but as he cockily strode down the ramp, Mark took a flying leap over the ropes, landing square onto JC! The bell rang as Mark kicked JC in the head, then grabbed him as he rammed JC’s head into the nearest ringpost. Mark walked over to the announcers and grabbed Scott Benjamin’s chair, then started walking back over to JC, but JC charged Mark, spearing him to the outside mat. JC picked up the chair as Mark pulled himself to his feet, and swung, but Mark ducked and JC hit nothing but ringpost. He dropped the chair and Mark clotheslined JC before finally picking him up and rolling him into the ring. Mark covered and got a two count, then rolled out of the ring immediately to find another weapon. He searched under the ring and pulled out a sledgehammer, then rolled back into the ring. By that time though, JC had recovered and was playing possum, and when Mark swung the hammer down, JC dodged and kicked McNasty square in the crotch. As Mark doubled over in pain, JC grabbed the sledgehammer, rolled to his feet and drove it into McNasty’s head! McNasty started bleeding as JC covered, but Mark kicked out at two. JC stood up and started screaming at the referee that it should have been three, and after the ref said no, JC spit in the referee’s face. He started walking backwards, and suddenly, a recovered McNasty rolled JC up in a school boy and grabbed the ropes as the ref counted three!
WINNER: Mark McNasty, via Pinfall
After the match ended, JC and Mark continued fighting, Mark‘s face covered in blood. Suddenly, "In Fate's Hands" by Red Jumpsuit Apparatus hit the BlazenTron and the crowd exploded as none other than the ReVolution Gabe Shelley, missing until this night, walked out onto the ramp with his signature Singapore cane in his hand! Mark and JC both froze in their spot as they watched Gabe as he charged the ring and slid inside, then immediately came face to face with McNasty.
Mark put his hands up, shouting he had nothing to do with anything involving him. JC, meanwhile, had a huge smile, shouting that Gabe should beat the hell out of Mark right now. Gabe raised his fist and started to swing at Mark, then suddenly stopped mid punch, turned and nailed JC instead as the crowd went nuts! Gabe flipped his hood off and smiled at Mark, as Mark flashed his trademark smile, and the two started stomping JC, who quickly rolled out of the ring and retreated up the ramp. Mark and Gabe then both raised their arms in the ring, getting a huge pop from the fans.
Ryan Maanya then walked onto the stage and announced that, after a lot of deliberation, he had decided that at Wreckless, after the awesome show he just saw, it would be McNasty… vs. Shelley… for the BWF Championship! JC smiled and started celebrating, but Maanya put his hand up and said “Whoa whoa whoa there, JC… I just said Shelley, not JC Shelley… I actually meant GABE Shelley!” The crowd cheered as JC stood on the ramp, nearly foaming from the mouth out of anger, as Gabe and Mark stared one another down, both grinning, as the cameras faded to the BWF logo, then to black.
