Episode 234 - November 13, 2020
Alison James: Welcome, one and all, to Monday... no, FRIDAY Night Havok! We may have switched nights, but we absolutely have not changed the incredible action BWF is known for! And tonight, we have a hell of a show for you!
Liam Stewart: We've got the first-ever Revolution X Champions, Jane "The Hammer" Harper and Chiaki Sanada, defending that title for the first-ever time against last week's battle royale runner up, Katie Shelley. We've got Enforcer going one on one with Zoe Cooper. Nessa Wall vs. Talia Areano! The debuting Drake Connors and Hayato Sagara-Connors facing the Tag Team Champs the CANDY BOYS 2000, ALL HAIL THE CHAMPS! And in our main event, BWF World Champion FM Young takes on her protege, the always-exciting Super Tiger!
Alison James: But right now, we kick things off with what is sure to be a stellar three way, as Akemi Hayashi, Jaxon Taylor and Kasey Kash do battle! Let's take it to the ring!
The Finish...
As this week's opening match wound down, Akemi was riding high, being the most veteran performer of the three. Alone in the ring with Kasey, she wore him down before hitting him with the Starflower (Twist of Fate) and going for the cover. As soon as the ref started counting, however, a hand grabbed her leg and pulled her out of the ring; Jaxon Taylor! He whipped her face first into the steel ringpost, before rolling into the ring and quickly covering Kash himself. Astoundingly, Kash kicked out right before 3, and Jaxon raged! Without hesitating, he pulled Kash to his feet, ran the ropes and leveled him with the Jax Smash (Clothesline From Hell) before covering him. Akemi recovered on the outside and tried to dive into the ring to break up the pin, but just missed her window as the ref counted 3 and Taylor took home the W!
WINNER: Jaxon Taylor, via Pinfall [8:03]
"Monster" by Eminem hit the sound system as Jaxon quickly exited the ring. Akemi yelled things at him in Japanese (or gibberish... or maybe both) as Jaxon made his way up the ramp, smug and proud of himself.
Alison James: A big win for Jaxon Taylor here on Havok! But I don't believe he's seen the last of Akemi Hayashi.
Liam Stewart: That's for sure. Even if nobody has any idea what she's saying. I think I heard her say "paper tupperware bonanza"?
Alison James: Oh my lord.
Krush 'Em
The scene fades in on Drake Connors and his son in law and tag partner in their dressing room. Drake is busy wrapping athletic tape around his wrists as Hayato brushes out his hair in preparation to style it.
Drake Connors: I’m telling you, son, their tag division is pretty weak. We could change all that by being an example as The Kaiju Krushers once again. Make this a permanent thing whilst also pursuing individual gold.
Hayato finishes brushing his hair, setting the brush down and beginning to style it with his fingers into his usual ‘do. He shrugs a bit at Drake’s words.
Hayato Sagara-Connors: It certainly wouldn’t be the first time we’ve beefed up a tag division just by being there. Resurrect the Krushers and go after tag team glory? I’m in. Just don’t think if we end up facing each other for individual gold I’ll go easy on you.
Drake laughs as he slides on his pressure sleeves, flexing his wrists back and forth to loosen up.
Drake Connors: Son, if I thought you’d take it easy on me I’d be disappointed.
His hair now set in his signature wild style, Hayato turns to face Drake.
Hayato Sagara-Connors: You know me “pops”, I -never- go easy on anyone. The Candy Boys are about to learn that the hard way.
Drake smirks as he stands, clasping Hayato’s hand and pulling him into a quick bro-hug.
Drake Connors: That’s what I’m talkin’ about! The whole of BWF is going to learn what it means when the Krushers are on the warpath. I just hope that they don’t get too mad about the property that’s about to end up destroyed.
Hayato Sagara-Connors: Not to mention the Candy Boys.
Drake Connors: Those guys aren’t gonna know what hit them. They’ll be looking up at the lights wondering how the hell they got there and why their jaws hurt so much. The BWF has no idea what’s in store for them, because once we have an opponent in our crosshairs… Bang, they’re dead.
Hayato nods, looking a bit wistful.
Hayato Sagara-Connors: Man, I need a catchphrase.
Drake smirks a bit.
Drake Connors: We’ll figure something out. Now come on, let’s talk strategy…
The scene fades as Drake and Hayato huddle up to discuss possible modes of attack against the Candy Boys.
The Finish...
Several minutes in, both competitors were still going all out, trying to get an advantage over the other. The former BWF World Champion seemingly put Enforcer out of the match when she hit her Roundabout (Spinning Heel Kick) followed by the Candy Crush (Sit-Down Facebuster), but amazingly, Enforcer kicked out at 2! Zoe rolled to the corner and readied The Face Replacer (Busaiku Knee Kick), but Enforcer caught her running and dropped her with a wicked powerbomb on the back of her neck. From there, he applied the Omerta (Katahajime) and, with Zoe seemingly blacked out, the referee had no choice but to call for the bell.
WINNER: Enforcer, via Submission [9:28]
"Natural Born Killaz" by Ice Cube & Dr. Dre played as Enforcer released the hold (after holding on for a few extra seconds, of course) and stood up. As he did last week, he held up two fingers, then motioned for championship gold around his waist as the crowd in attendance booed.
Alison James: Enforcer is on a roll here. Last week, he won a 3-on-1 handicap match, and this week, he took out a former BWF World Champ and made it look easy!
Liam Stewart: And in two weeks at Gauntlet Run, he's going to leave as the International Sovereign Champion of the entire BWF! Does that outrank the World Title? Cause, you know, two is more than one!
Alison James: I don't believe so, but it would be impressive all the same. Hopefully his opponents are as focused as he is going into that huge two falls double title match.
Blunt Force
We start with a black screen and people chattering in the background, but nothing is able to be made out. Suddenly, there’s the sound of a spray paint can being shaken and then the sound of it discharging and on the screen, we see in graffiti like letters:
2 Broke Chicks
The screen comes back on to the familiar RV of Chiaki and Jane, the now first ever Co-Revolution X Champions. The door opens up and out comes strutting Jane, her hair done up in cornrows. The gauges in her ears with a pair of big hoops hanging off them. She has the Revolution X Championship across her waist as she looks around in the parking garage and grins before tapping on the title. From behind, leaping out of the RV, the neon blue haired menace that is always seen by Jane’s side - Chiaki - comes jumping onto Jane’s back. Legs wrap around her waist and one arm around the front of Jane’s chest under her neck as Chiaki throws up the peace symbol, putting on her biggest grin and bearing her pointed teeth.
Chiaki Sanada: Oi! Chōshi wa dō?! Whassubaaaaaay!!!
She brings her arm down, remaining right there on Jane’s back. Just reaffirms her hold on her tag partner by crossing her other arm across Jane’s chest. Jane walks out, looking back at her friend and just laughs a little bit before settling down and just looking down at the title around her waist.
Jane Harper: Well, last week, we did it Chi Chi. I doubt most people thought we’d actually go through with it, but it’s you and me til the end and now, we hold the gold. First ever Revolution X Champs right here, you and me. I couldn’t be prouder of us.
Jane unhooks the title and holds it up, right next to Chiaki and looking up at it for a moment.
Chiaki Sanada: Jane-chan do good! Chi Chi do good! Think Sensei proud!
She reaches in front of the belt and gives the center plate her own little slap before hopping down from Jane’s back. She fixes her baggy ass flannel shirt and spins around once, sending the hem of the shirt, the chains on her pants and her long blue pigtails just whipping through the air before stopping to focus on Jane again.
Chiaki Sanada: And now, we defend!!
Chiaki goes into an adorable, albeit maybe a little crazy bit of giggling fit as she jumps up and down, clapping her hands.
Chiaki Sanada: Ooh ooh! Chi Chi hold belt?!
She holds her hands out, anxiously wiggling her fingers. Jane takes the belt and holds it out to Chiaki to grab it and hold it for herself now. She earned it just as much as Jane did. As Jane speaks, Chiaki spins around with the belt, swinging it out in front of her as she dances in circles. She also swings it up and down overhead, imitating the sound of...is she mimicking a fucking chainsaw?!
Jane Harper: Now the big question is, who defends it first, huh? I mean, we’re at the advantage here over the rest of the field, because they don’t know which one of us they’re getting and we know exactly who we’re facing each and every time out.
Chiaki’s chainsaw dance...er...rather her title belt dance comes to an abrupt stop with the smaller of the 2 Broke Chicks standing right in front of her. Only now, she’s got the damn end of the strap clamped in her teeth after having spun around with it in her mouth and her arms out like a helicopter. She stares wide eyed up at Jane as if a light bulb’s gone off in her head but just like that, the bulb fizzles out and she removes the belt from her mouth and sets it on her shoulder.
Chiaki Sanada: ….Is good question!
Chiaki lifts her head and taps her chin before shrugging her shoulders and looking back to Jane.
Chiaki Sanada: Aye Dee Kay!
Jane stands there for a moment before leaning up against the RV. She takes one of her Timberland boots and props it against the vehicle before a smile comes across her face.
Jane Harper: Rock, Paper, Scissors for it!
Oop. There it is. Another light bulb inside that head of hers as she nods in agreement.
Chiaki Sanada: Ooh! Hai! Yes yes! We play! Ready?
Jane Harper: On shoot.
Jane puts out her one hand, palm up and the other resting on it as she looks down at Chiaki with a smile on her face.
Jane Harper: You’re so going down!
Chiaki starts to set the belt down to free up her hands but stops and, instead, reaches around Jane with it and clasps it across her chest like a bandolier.
Chiaki Sanada: Belt heavy. Jane-chan hold. We play.
Finally, Chiaki sets her hands up the same way Jane has hers; that big, twisted little cheshire grin spreading across her face.
Chiaki Sanada: Sō wa omoimasen! Chi Chi kick you butt!
Jane suddenly gets serious as she looks down at her best friend before bringing her hand up and watching Chiaki do the same thing.
Jane Harper: Rock, Paper, Scissors, shoot!
Chiaki Sanada: Ichi, ni, san, yosh!
With each word, their fists hit the palm of their hand. On shoot, Jane pulls out scissors…
And Chiaki pulls out paper! The wild little joshi looks down at their hands, takes one look at Jane’s scissors over her paper and goes into the most adorable little loser’s fit, flailing her arms and cursing in Japanese before looking up at Jane. She hangs her head in defeat for a moment before conceding and patting the belt.
Chiaki Sanada: Jane-chan kick butt. Defend belt first.
On that note, she pivots towards the camera again and finds her energy again.
Chiaki Sanada: You hear, Katie Shelley?! Jane-chan gonna kick you ass! Rev X belt going nowhere!
Jane Harper: I really couldn’t have said it much better myself, Cheech. Katie, you know what it’s like already to taste defeat at our hands and tonight, it just so happens to be your turn to have it happen again. You got me steppin into that ring and I’m going to stop at nothing to make sure this title stays right here in this RV with me and Chi Chi.
Jane taps the belt and looks down at it before she slaps Chiaki on the back, maybe a little bit too hard this time.
Jane Harper: We worked hard and fought tooth and nail, just to get here to the States and live out our dream of being wrestlers. Three matches into our professional career and here we are, champions. Katie, there ain’t nothin you, or anybody else in that locker room is gonna do to bring us down from this oh so amazing high we’re feeling right now.
Chiaki pumps her fist in the air, jumping up and down.
Chiaki Sanada: Haaaaaaaaaiiiiiiii!!!!! We give you props, Katie-san. Maybe you be first Rev X Chanpion-da if you and husbando work together like us, but you stab him in back! You betray you man and eliminate! That why you suck and 2 Broke Chicks rule! We fly ass bishes on roll and we goin nowhere! Oi! Jane-chan! Junbi wa dekita ka? Ready beat a bish ass?
She says this, twisting dramatically to face her tag partner. Jane walks over to the door of the RV and opens it up, gesturing to Chiaki to step inside of it.
Jane Harper: You’re damn right I am. I’m always ready to whoop some bitch ass. Then after, booze and smoke as celebration! Now let’s get going. I think the match is coming up soon and we need to get into the arena still.
Chiaki Sanada: Yeeeeeaaaaaaah!!!! Go get ‘em, Jane-chan!
Chiaki jumps up and down, gives Jane a “good game” slap right on the ass before running up the steps and turning to throw a middle finger at the camera. She thrusts her finger upwards, aggressively before disappearing inside the RV. Jane follows suit and slams the door behind her. A few moments later, the RV can be heard firing up and it backs out of the parking spot. The tires squeal as the vehicle speeds off, heading towards the arena.
The Finish...
Kayla Taylor and Krista May Williams, the Freaks With Benefits, made their way to ringside to join Alison and Liam on commentary before this match began. The match itself was a standard back and forth, with Johnny and Finale showcasing their expected level of excellence, while Drake and Hayato (who indeed, were billed as The Kaiju Krushers) impressed in their BWF debut. Unfortunately, the match would be robbed of a victor, as the Freaks decided they had seen enough and interrupted the match, attacking Finale and Johnny, causing a DQ.
WINNERS: Johnny Maverick & Finale, via Disqualification [11:56]
The crowd booed loudly at the finish, but their boos changed into cheers as Drake and Hayato joined the fight, backing up the Tag Team Champs! They fought off the Freaks, and just as everything seemed peachy, Finale ran the ropes, came back and hit Hayato with the One Foot In The Grave (Sick Kick)! Johnny shrugged and immediately cracked Drake between the eyes with the Third Eye Opener (Ripcord Bicycle Knee Strike). As the crowd gave a mixed reaction and the Candy Boys grabbed their Tag Team Titles, "The Look" by Roxette played and BWF Owner Emily Corlen walked out onto the stage.
Emily Corlen: Okay, okay, enough of this. Kayla, Krista? Absolutely uncalled for. Finale, Johnny? I could say the same. But I get it, you all want to put your stamp on BWF's burgeoning Tag Team Division. So, fair enough. If you two teams can't get along with the Kaiju Krushers, then I guess I'm just gonna have to add them to your title match at Gauntlet Run!
The crowd roars.
Emily Corlen: ...that is, IF Misters Drake and Hayato-san can defeat the Freaks With Benefits next week on Havok. And Candy Boys? Just in case you have any plans to give these girls a, frankly, well-deserved reciept for their actions tonight, don't. Both of you will be banned from ringside, and if either of you DO try to show up... OR GET A HOODIE NINJA TO SHOW UP, I'M LOOKING AT YOU, JOHNNY... I will strip those titles and make sure you two never wrestle as a tag team again. BELIEVE IT.
"The Look" plays again as Emily heads backstage and all three teams glare at one another angrily.
Alison James: Wow! Well, that's certainly not how Drake Connors and Hayato Sagara-Connors wanted their BWF debuts to go, BUT they have a title opportunity waiting for them at Gauntlet Run IF they can beat the former champs and current #1 Contenders next week on Havok!
Liam Stewart: I just want to know who would win between the two teams that were competing tonight. I was hella into that match!
Alison James: It's very likely we could see those four clash again in the future, and if that does happen, I'm sure the whole world will be watching.
The Finish...
Since winning the International Title back at Retribution, Talia Areano has had a rough go of it in BWF, and unfortunately, that didn't change tonight. Talia fought valiantly, and came close a number of times to putting the #1 Contender to FM Young's BWF World Title away, but try as she might, Nessa remained one step ahead of her and scored a win over the BWF International Champion following a Snarktopus Splash (Cyclorama).
WINNER: Nessa Wall, via Pinfall [10:33]
"She's a Genius" by Jet hit the BlazenTron as Nessa rolled out of the ring, proud of her effort tonight. In the ring, Talia, recovering, did her best to hide her disappointment even as she stared into the title she had won just a few short weeks ago.
Alison James: A dominant win for, possibly, the next BWF World Champion here, but you have to feel for Talia Areano. She must be feeling all the pressure of being champion right now.
Liam Stewart: She needs a big win, and soon, or else she's gonna bottom out confidence wise before she even makes it to Gauntlet Run. It's gonna be the toughest match of her BWF career thus far, and if she's doubting herself even a little, it will cost her. No ifs, ands or buts about it.
The Life and Death of Katie Shelley
The camera returns from commercial to a darkened room backstage. A figure, slender and petite, can barely be made out amongst the shadows. The figure speaks with a familiar voice.
Katie Shelley: Katie Shelley is a failure.
A pause.
Katie Shelley: When she returned to professional wrestling after years of maternal exile, she had grandiose plans. She wanted to prove to everyone that she was still the badass fighter who became AXW World Champion. A legacy competitor in BWF with a rap sheet to match. A skilled artisan of the ring who did not let the wrestling world leave her behind when life got in the way.
Another pause.
Katie Shelley: And then, in her big in-ring return... Katie Shelley lost. She lost BAD. Finale dismantled her so thoroughly, he earned a World Title shot about it. She got more matches. A chance to be Sovereign Champion. A loss. A chance to be Revolution X Champion. A loss. Even a team-up with her husband, a 3-time BWF World Champion in his own right against two nothing debuting losers. A loss.
She growls softly before continuing.
Katie Shelley: Katie Shelley IS loss. Defeat in human clothing. A sad, weak, pathetic woman who cannot gather what little momentum she can to win even the most inconsequential of matches. A woman who chose her family over the ring. A disgusting mistake that I can no longer abide.
The figure leans closer to the camera, her face still shadowed, but her pink locks of hair flashing against the darkness surrounding her.
Katie Shelley: Katie Shelley was an embarrassment to WHO I AM. So, I took her out back, bashed her fucking skull in and buried that pathetic piece of garbage where she belongs. She dies so that true greatness may live.
The figure now leans fully forward, her sharp features awash in a dim light. Her neon pink hair shocks the senses as her knowing gaze pierces the soul.
Katie Shelley: Katie Shelley is dead. Long live Stutterfly.
A cocky sneer stretches across her face.
Stutterfly: It's time to put these stoner bitches down like the dogs they are and remind every last one of you sad bastards EXACTLY WHO THE FUCK I AM.
She stands up, glaring into the camera.
Stutterfly: Game. Over.
Stutterfly walks up to the camera, grabs it, and swings it as hard as she can into the wall. The lens is visibly cracked as the camera falls on its side. We see Stutterfly walking away, laughing madly as the camera shifts back to the ring.

Before the participants were introduced for the Revolution X Title Match, a roulette played on the BlazenTron showcasing countless different match types. The roulette suddenly came to a stop and the words TABLES MATCH flashed across the screen to a roaring crowd.
Alison James: There you have it! This match is going to be a Tables Match for the Revolution X Title between co-champion Jane "The Hammer" Harper and her challenger, Katie Shelley.
Liam Stewart: Um, Ali, I know you watched the same thing I did. It's STUTTERFLY now, not Katie Shelley.
Alison purses her lips and doesn't respond as the introductions for the Revolution X Title Match begin.
The Finish...
Jane Harper certainly seemed surprised by the sudden(?) change in her opponent, but also seemed to be digging the new look... until the bell rang and Stutterfly began tearing into her like a woman possessed. With Chiaki watching on at ringside, the two women battled a war for the Revolution X Championship, each one coming perilously close to winning at different times. At one point, Stutterfly threw Jane over the ropes towards a table set up at ringside, but the 2nd Broke Chick was there to pull the table out of the way, saving the team's title reign. Stutterfly went after Chiaki, culminating in the challenger putting the co-champion through the announcer's table. In the ring, Jane was setting up a table when, out of nowhere, a person in a hoodie stormed the ring and slammed a chair into her back! Jane slumped over the table as the definitely-not-a-hoodie-ninja hopped the barricade and made their way back through the crowd. Stutterfly returned to the ring, saw Jane still stunned over the table and grabbed her, and then hit the Bleeding Rose (Sliced Bread #2) through the table to pick up the win!
WINNER AND NEW BWF REVOLUTION X CHAMPION: Stutterfly, via Table [13:45]
"Mz. Hyde" by Halestorm hits the BlazenTron as Stutterfly stands up. She grabs the title forcefully away from the official and holds it up before giving Jane a swift kick to the side of her head. The crowd boos loudly as she puts her foot on Jane's chest and holds the title high.
Alison James: ...
Liam Stewart: Dude, your sister just won the Revolution X Title. That's awesome!
Alison James: Is it? Look at her. Look at what she did. All for what, a title? Was it worth it?
Liam Stewart: I mean, I'm sure she would say yes.
Alison James: And where is Gabe during all of this? He's supposed to be the one talking Katie OUT of crazy decisions like this. And just who was that who showed up to help her? I have more questions now than before!
Coming Soon to the BWF Network & PPV
The Finish...
Teacher vs. Student. Mentor vs. Mentee. These two women pulled out all the stops for this main event, putting on a clinic that saw Super Tiger, on more than one occasion, nearly upset the woman she trained under. One of the match highlights was Tiger hitting Young with her own Superchick (Shiranui) for a near-3 count! But, like all good instructors, FM didn't teach Tiger *everything* she knew, and this allowed the World Champ to come away with the victory in a hard-fought bout following an attempted Starlight Express (Bridging Dragon Suplex) Young was able to counter into a Heart of a Phoenix (Lumbar Check) for the 1, 2, 3!
WINNER: FM Young, via Pinfall [23:46]
Before FM's music could even play, Nessa Wall came out of nowhere and hit Young with the Kissy, Kissy to the back of her head! Acting quickly, and clearly with a plan, Nessa dragged Young over to the ropes as Super Tiger continued to stir and pulled something out of her pocket.
Alison James: Oh no... she's got handcuffs!
Liam Stewart: Ooh, kinky.
Alison James: NOW IS NOT THE TIME, LIAM.
Nessa quickly handcuffs the Champion to the bottom rope as she begins to stir. Nessa rolls out of the ring, walks over to the timekeeper, and picks up the BWF World Title as FM regains her bearings and realizes she's handcuffed. The challenger slides into the ring with the belt and then charges at Super Tiger, cracking her in the back of the head with the title! FM Young rages, struggling to break the chain of the handcuffs, as Nessa leans down, picks up Tiger's head, holds it up for Young, and then rakes her face across the belt.
Alison James: Oh... this is a bad idea. FM Young is NOT someone you want angry with you.
Liam Stewart: As if, Alison. This is how you send a message! This is Nessa Wall saying her time is NOW, damn the consequences!
Nessa stands up, smirking as Tiger's head lay across the center plate of the World Title. She leans down a bit, blows a kiss in FM's direction, and then runs the ropes, coming back with a curb stomp, sandwiching Tiger's head between her boot and the Championship! The young masked star can be seen bleeding on the belt as Nessa points at FM Young and says "You're next". Finally, FM yells at the top of her lungs and pulls as hard as she can, snapping the chain on the handcuffs, her wrist bruised from the struggle. She charges at Nessa, who quickly slides out of the ring and runs up the ramp. Young momentarily considers going after her, but instead kneels down to check on her protege. As ringside personnel enter the ring to check on Tiger, Young and Wall have an intense staredown.
Alison James: Nessa Wall certainly got FM Young's attention tonight. The question is, was it worth it... and will she regret it come Gauntlet Run?
Liam Stewart: I certainly wouldn't. She's in the Champ's head now, Ali! It's only a matter of time before that woman is our new BWF World Champion.
Alison James: She may just need to kill the current Champion to do it.
We see one final shot of the intense staredown before we fade to the BWF logo, and finally, to black.
