Episode 231 - September 14, 2020
Alison James: Greetings, BWF fans, and welcome to another edition of Monday Night Havok! I’m Alison James…
Liam Stewart: …and I’m Liam Stewart, and tonight, we’ve got one HELL of a show for you all - pun VERY much intended!
Alison James: As much as I hate puns, when you’re correct, you’re correct. Tonight, we find out who will join Finale in two weeks time at BWF Retribution in entering the Hellbound Match and competing for the BWF World Championship.
Liam Stewart: What’s more, just before we went on the air tonight, Wrestling News Now exclusively revealed that those who do not win their matches tonight will compete in a different match at Retribution… for a different title!
Alison James: Indeed. Those who do not qualify tonight will join my sister Katie Shelley, who lost against Finale last week, at Retribution as they compete in a Championship Scramble Match for the vacant BWF Sovereign Championship… and that match will kick off BWF’s return to pay-per-view in two weeks live from the House of Blazenwing.
Liam Stewart: There are truly no losers here tonight. Except the people who lose their matches. I mean, come on. It’s right there in the name.
Alison James: Well, that’s just rude.

F.M. Young sat at her own little home bar, not big nor elaborate enough to be anything else. On the wall behind her, arranged neatly are her now 12 Championships. From various different company’s, different levels of titles, with one notable exception. No BWF World Championship, despite the company billing her a “former World Champion” since her return to the place.
F.M. Young: I don’t count it.
The big woman speaks, perhaps reading the audience's thoughts, perhaps just expanding on her own internal monologue.
F.M. Young: That wasn’t a title reign, it wasn’t worth it. No matter what the bean counter’s tell me. It was a damned embarrassment. So much so, that when I won one of those title cases for Empire I went OUT OF MY WAY, not to be a dick about it. Granted, I’d considered that wound closed, I’ve won the Empire World Title twice now, I figured BWF was dead and my shame was buried… But here we are, and here Emily Corlen is, giving fucking Finale, Mr. I’ve been retired and it’s perfectly fine if I run companies into the ground if I make jokes about it, HE gets a free shot at Hellbound? I’ve gotta earn my place?
Young ducks under the bar and takes out the fixings for a whiskey sour, she spends time silently fixing her drink without the usual frills. When she finally looks up at the camera again, she takes another moment to sip her drink before speaking.
F.M. Young: BWF’s had it’s stops and starts, and I admit I might just be a footnote in the company's history...But it gave me my first job and that means something. It gave me my first big loss too, but what I accomplished that night taught me something. I am a goddamn One Woman Army. I went through hell and back and only got stopped at the final hurdle by someone who had the help of a whole group. That’s something to stand on, which is the one thing it taught me. It taught me how to stand on a loss. How to get up and continue on, it’s a lesson I took to heart. So I have to now earn my way into the Hellbound match at Retribution.
F.M. takes a large slug of her drink, one she mixed strong and shakes her head, rolling her eyes at her own words.
F.M. Young: Nobody can deny that when I’ve been in BWF I’ve put the company on my back. It’s what I plan to do again, I’ll earn my way into Hellbound, no doubt. I hate to say it, but I’m up against a rookie. Anaru Kalua, I’m sure you’ve done well and I’m sure you’ve trained hard, but I also hope you’ve been paying attention. Because I am the woman who just won’t die. It took all of BWF’s roster, and Ragnarok, and Kurt Hullumn twice to finally put me down last time. It’s gonna be nothing you did, Anaru, and nothing you didn’t do, there’s nothing you can or can do. I’m going to Retribution. I just happen to need to get through you first, and unfortunately for you, I’m than capable AND motivated to do that.
Another drink down, Young woof’s at the strength of it, sighing as she moves to take a seat on the bar stool so she can look back at her trophy wall.
F.M. Young: Some asshat a month or so ago told me I’ve been the most slept on talent in the industry… Like its a damn compliment. Like I don’t KNOW I get slept on. Sometimes, no matter I do or achieve, it still feels that way in my own head. I’ve had enough, I’m done with all of it, the insecurity. The being slept on. Ben McBeth ISN’T getting over me in Empire, Finale ISN’T going to be getting over on me. I’m winning my chance for Hellbound. Retribution is going to be MY retribution, it’s going to be the final nail in the coffin to all this doubt in my head. Like I said, I thought I put it behind me, but BWF didn’t stay dead, neither did the feeling...So here we are. Shotgun Rhinoplasty, kill it with fire, put it to a goddamn end. I’m getting my retribution. I’m showing everyone that I still have love for BWF, and the passion inside to be in this industry.
Young reached back with her glass, and clacked it gently against the empty case with a soft smile.
F.M. Young: I’m filling this goddamn case.
Both competitors, one making her BWF return, the other making their BWF debut, circle one another as the bell sounds for the night’s opening match. The limited fans in attendance aren’t sure who to root for (as both competitors are villainous), but most seem to side with Nessa just based on her familiarity to BWF fans.
Alison James: Nessa Wall is a former Chaos Theory Champion here in BWF, a title that is no longer active in the company. Tonight, win or lose, she has the chance to leave Retribution on September 28 with another piece of BWF gold; one with much more history behind it.
Liam Stewart: Oh man, I miss the Grizzly Beer- I mean, the Chaos Theory Title. Good times.
This match quickly becomes a story of speed vs. power, as the quicker, more agile Wall does her best to avoid Taylor’s tough hits. Despite gaining the upper hand, Nessa makes a crucial mistake when a springboard dropkick misses, allowing Jaxon to catch her on the recovery with a football tackle, followed immediately by a Face Meet BOOT (Running Big Boot to the Face) for a cover and a two count. Taylor immediately questions the ref, who shrugs at him and says “Bro, it was two. What do you want me to tell you?”
Liam Stewart: Yeah, our referees don’t really take crap, do they?
Alison James: I might still be careful if I were them. Jaxon Taylor doesn’t seem like the kind of fellow you want on your bad side.
Jaxon sighs and lifts Nessa up, but she counters into a tilt-a-whirl headscissors takedown before reclaiming the momentum in the match-up. The two wrestle for several more minutes, each garnering a handful of near falls, but for the most part, Nessa remains in control. After he hits a nasty DDT on the apron, Nessa appears to be out of it and Taylor kneels down in the corner, readying himself for a major strike. Wall uses the ropes to pull herself to her feet and Jaxon charges at her with a Jax Smash (Clothesline From Hell), but Nessa DODGES it! Taylor hits the ropes, bounds back towards Wall and gets hit with the Kissy, Kissy (Blown Kiss into a Boma Ye)! The kiss comes after the move in this instance, but she still makes sure to include it before dropping down for the cover and the win!
WINNER: Nessa Wall, via Pinfall
“She’s a Genius” by Jet plays on the BlazenTron as Nessa rolls out of the ring and smirks, looking back at Jaxon before making her way up the ramp.
Alison James: And with that, our next two contenders have been solidified! Nessa Wall will advance to Hellbound to face Finale and three others for the BWF World Title, while Jaxon Taylor will enter the Championship Scramble alongside Katie Shelley and three others for the BWF Sovereign Title.
Liam Stewart: Heck of a performance from both competitors, but tonight, Jaxon Taylor hit a -
Alison James: Oh, god. No. Please. Don’t.
Liam Stewart: He hit a -
Alison James: I’m begging you. NO PUNS.
Liam Stewart: ……………..HE HIT A WALL! BAHAHAHAHAHA!
Alison covers her face with her palm and sighs as Havok fades to commercial.
Recorded Earlier Today
Anaru Kalua walks past a bunch of fans and after tossing a few BWF T-Shirts to some of the kids he enters the arena and walks through the backstage area. He smiles and waves at some of the people working in the back, passing Toshi Yang who looks like she’s waiting on someone, anyone, to interview.
Toshi Yang: Anaru! Anaru Kalua! I saw you come in. I was wondering if I could get a few minutes of your time before the show starts?
Anaru Kalua: Kia ora, Ms. Yang! Of course. I have a few minutes. Fire away.
Toshi Yang: I saw you come in with the fans a few minutes ago. I have to say that you seem to be in good spirits coming off of your loss against Enforcer two weeks ago. Doesn’t it upset you that you basically had him beat and the referee couldn’t make the count?
Anaru Kalua: No, not at all. Okay, okay, I’ll admit. Yeah, I was a little angry at first, mainly because opportunities like the one I was presented last Havok come along once in a blue moon. But, you know, this is pro wrestling. Things like that happen. Besides, Enforcer has been there and done that, excellent ability, lots of titles, everything. I may not approve of how he gets things done, but it can’t be denied that he does get those things done. I would love to go against Enforcer again. Title shot or no, just to prove that him beating me wasn’t a fluke because the referee took a hit.
Toshi Yang: Who knows? Maybe someday.
Anaru Kalua: Perhaps.
Toshi Yang: So how do you feel about stepping into the ring with F.M. Young?
Anaru Kalua: Ah, yeah. She’s a tough one. Lots of drive, lots of spirit. I’ve always respected F.M. Young. She’s a great wrestler, and from what I can see a good person. I wish her all the best. Not only tonight, but in the rest of her career as well. I mean, I want to win this evening, but I still respect her. But, speaking of F.M. Young, I should probably head on in. I still have to suit up and everything. Maybe we can finish this after the show?
Toshi Yang: Sure.
Anaru Kalua: See you then.
Anaru walks off screen to prepare for his match against F.M. Young.
Much like the previous match, as the bell rings, the fans are torn on who to support in this match, but for a completely different reason; the fans appear to love both of these competitors! As F.M. and Anaru circle up in the middle of the ring, a “Both These Guys!” chant breaks out amongst the fans in attendance. Both competitors can’t help but grin a little as they tie up, with Kalua gaining that all-important early momentum.
Alison James: He may not have won the International Title last week, Liam, but Anaru Kalua has certainly endeared himself to the BWF fan-base. For a newcomer to the company, to have their support this quickly is, frankly, unprecedented.
Liam Stewart: The guy’s got some rough edges, but if he can polish those off, there’s no limit to what he can accomplish. That’s why I’ve taken after my father, Rayne, and bet a significant sum of money on Kalua to win tonight’s match.
Alison James: …okay, then! Good luck, Anaru… Liam’s wallet needs it!
Given the two wrestlers’ similarity in size and attack style, in addition to similar wrestling style, the match remains fast-paced as both competitors bust out some of their flashiest moves in an attempt to move on to Hellbound. Anaru hits a Fly Half (Imploding 450 splash) for a near-three count. Soon after, F.M. comes back and hits the Negasonic Warhead (Starship Pain) for her own near-three count.
Liam Stewart: These two are fighting so fast, I can barely keep up!
The match continues on like this for several minutes, neither star willing to concede the slightest inch. The end finally comes when Anaru dodges a Man-Machine Interface (Discus Clothesline) from Young and grapples her down to the mat before cinching in the Lie Detector Test (Anaconda Vice)! F.M. fights it, trying to escape, inching closer to the ropes, but Anaru refuses to let her reach them!
Alison James: Is Anaru Kalua about to advance to the Hellbound Match by tapping out a former BWF World Champion!?
Young is about to reach the ropes to break up the move, but Anaru senses this and kicks his leg out, pushing the ropes out of her reach! Unfortunately for him, this breaks his concentration just for a moment, long enough for F.M. to shift Anaru’s body weight backwards into a backslide pin! Before he can react, the referee drops to count… 1… 2… 3!
WINNER: F.M. Young, via Pinfall
"Helix" by Amaranthe plays as Young rolls to her knees and coughs, rubbing her neck. Kalua jumps up in shock, unsure what just happened. After it dawns on him, he sighs and kicks the bottom rope.
Alison James: Tough loss for Anaru Kalua tonight, who very nearly earned a World Title shot against a former Champ.
Liam Stewart: Nooooo… my rent money!
Kalua turns around and sees Young reaching her feet. They briefly exchange words, and then share a handshake (crowd pop) before Kalua exits the ring, leaving Young to celebrate.
Alison James: It’s not all bad news for Anaru, because he still moves on to compete for the Sovereign Title at Retribution, of course!
Liam Stewart: Meanwhile, F.M. Young joins Nessa Wall and Finale in competing in the main event for the World Title inside the deadly Hellbound Match. Only two spots remain… who will join them?
Alison James: Find out right after this!
Fade to commercial. (Yes, even on the BWF Network. Gotta pay for all those servers somehow!)
Rocket Fuel
The camera finds Johnny Maverick backstage wearing a PPE mask along with his ring gear (in addition to a Hoodie Ninja hoodie and a crudely made tshirt that for some reason reads ‘CANDY BOYS 2000’ in pink text) and speaking to someone off-camera.
Johnny Maverick: I may not have been so lucky if Gabe-raham didn’t have ring rust. I’ve kept very active but when it comes right down to it that’s not an advantage I can depend on if my goal is to become World Champion. Competition will be fierce. I need to step my game up in a major way.
The camera pulls out to reveal that Johnny Maverick is speaking to the greatest mind in all of Pro Wrestling. He looks at Johnny as Johnny speaks to him, limitless wisdom in his face.
His cute widdle face.
Johnny’s manager, a living raccoon named Rocket blinks a few times, wearing a PPE mask matching that of his client. Standing on some stacked lighting boxes so he is at eye level with Johnny, Rocket responds with a swish of his tail.
Johnny Maverick: No I am NOT doubting myself. I know I’m damn good. I just… It’s about more than being good. I was good last time I was here but I never felt like I was able to achieve ‘great’. I want Johnny Maverick in BWF to be great. Beating Gabe is a great start. I just need to keep it going. We’ve got folks like F.M. Young, Fin Ale, AJ Adams… just a smorgasbord of amazing talent. I’m gonna HAVE to be great if I want to win that title.. and this match against weird talking lady is a MUST win if I want to make it to Hellbound.
Rocket blinks. Twice.
Johnny Maverick: Yes… I have been a little nervous. Hellbound is a cage match and last time I was in a cage in BWF I sustained an injury that nagged for over a year until I was forced to retire… until I got better. Miracle surgery. I’m still unable to come off the top rope or do anything crazy in the air like that. Maybe that’s why I’m a little….weird. But I’ll work through it. I always do.
Rocket reaches out his tiny widdle hand. Johnny hands him a pringle and Rocket pulls down his mask to munch on it.
Johnny Maverick: That’s why you’re the best. Alright, time for violence. Handsome violence. You good back here on your own if I put you in Emily’s office?
Rocket’s tail flicks again before he reaches out both his hands like a baby wanting to be picked up.
Johnny Maverick: Right on. You can just rest right there on her desk. I’m sure she won’t mind.
Johnny walks off-screen and the scene closes out.
The bell rings as Johnny and Azurine measure one another up, each waiting for the other to make the first move. After some hesitation, Johnny finally grapples Azurine, going behind before hitting a belly-to-back suplex. He follows this up with a series of stiff knees, strikes and elbows that seem to catch Azurine off-guard.
Alison James: Johnny knows how much this shot means, and knowing he may not get another one, he’s really hesitant to make any mistakes.
Liam Stewart: Yeah, unlike our last match, both of these competitors are being quite frugal in the early goings of this one. Plus, I wouldn’t be surprised if Johnny wasn’t doubting himself still a little bit, despite him telling the raccoon otherwise.
Alison James: Okay, one? What a sentence that was. Two, you may be on to something. Hellbound is a deadly match under normal circumstances. As someone who won’t even do top-rope moves as a way to extend his career further, I have to question the wisdom of him competing in a match where the main goal is to scale the outside of an enclosed cell, climb a ladder on the roof of said cell and claim a title swinging nearly two dozen feet above the arena floor.
Liam Stewart: I question the wisdom of Johnny less than I question the motives of our Owner. Miss Corlen gave Johnny this opportunity knowing his situation. Is she trying to push him outside of his comfort zone… or push him out of the wrestling business?
Alison James: Emily always knows what she’s doing. But yes, this one is a head scratcher. Of course, Johnny needs to WIN tonight before anything, so all of this may be moot regardless.
Back in the ring, Azurine has gained the upper hand, gaining several near falls on Dan Severn’s biggest fan. She lifts Johnny up and whips him into the corner, and then sets him up for the Duperplex (Brainbuster into a Fisherman's Suplex from the Second Turnbuckle/Middle Rope), but Johnny punches her a few times, finally knocking Azurine to the mat. Johnny drops back down to the mat himself before dropping a rising Azurine with the OFMF (Running Shotei strike to face)! Maverick covers, but Vebbins kicks out, holding her face in pain.
Liam Stewart: Oooch. Felt that one way over here.
Johnny pulls his opponent to her feet, hoisting her up and dropping her with The Johnny Special (A trio of rolling straightjacket suplexes). He bridges the third suplex, but Vebbins gets her foot on the bottom rope, breaking up the pin! Johnny looks to the ref and nods before lifting Azurine up, but she catches him with a jawbreaker, and then levels him with a superkick! Azurine covers… 1… 2… no! Johnny kicks out!
Alison James: She caught him right on the button with that kick, but Johnny isn’t done yet!
Liam Stewart: I thought this one was over! Heck, that kick would’ve laid ME out.
Alison James: A slight breeze would probably incapacitate you.
Liam Stewart: HEY! Also, accurate.
Azurine goes to pick Johnny up for another big move, but before she can hit anything, he leaps up with catches her with the Prelude to Perfection (Jumping Double Knee Armbreaker) followed almost instantaneously with The Perfect Armbar (Double Underhook Suplex floated over into a Cross Armbreaker)! Vebbins cries out as she tries to reach for a rope, the ref, anything to break up the submission, but Johnny has her close to the center of the ring. With nowhere to go, Azurine has no choice but to tap out.
WINNER: Johnny Maverick, via Submission
"Subtle Hustle" by Clutch hits the BlazenTron as Johnny breaks the hold and rolls to his feet. Exhausted by Azurine’s onslaught, he offers her a hand to her feet, promising her that she was “this close” to beating him with that superkick. She nods, congratulates Johnny, and then rolls out of the ring, rubbing her arm as Johnny celebrates his big win.
Alison James: And then there were four! For the World Title; Finale, Nessa Wall, F.M. Young and Johnny Maverick! For the Sovereign Title; Katie Shelley, Jaxon Taylor, Anaru Kalua and Azurine Vebbins!
Liam Stewart: Only one spot remains in both match… who will move on to Hellbound, Gabe Shelley or AJ Adams?
Alison James: Find out in tonight’s main event, featuring Finale as the special guest referee… NEXT!
On The Rocks
Enforcer is sitting at the bar of Full Effect Bar and Grill in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The BWF International Heavyweight title is perched on the bar as Enforcer is drinking a glass of scotch.
Enforcer: I would say it is beneath me to say I told you all so but you all would know I’d be lying. So, let’s just skip all the gloating and get down to business. Look at this beautiful, beautiful BWF International Heavyweight title belt. My beautiful International Heavyweight title belt that I won the very same night I debuted for the BWF. So, I can check the International title off the “To do list” and I am now onto bigger and better things.
A beat.
Enforcer: First on my agenda is to become the longest reigning International Heavyweight Champion of all time. Sorry, not sorry, Da Bomb. That is just the way it is and there isn’t a thing you can do to stop it. Which brings me to my opponent in a couple weeks at Retribution. Who just so happens to be the person that I beat to become International champion. That, of course, is the lovely, Ms. Talia Areano. Ms. Areano, we have been in each other’s orbit for many years now but with very little interaction. That all changed a couple weeks ago when I beat you to become the champ. Yet here you are once again getting the shot at my first title defense.
Another pause.
Enforcer: How the hell did you pull that off? You should have had to go to the back of the line and earn a shot once again. Just like last time I will beat you and keep my title reign intact to continue my illustrious career in peace. Ms. Areano, don’t get me wrong, I have a tremendous amount of respect for what you have done throughout your career but you see I have never denied my greed. My greed is the foundation of my career. I am secure enough to admit that. When I step into the ring my greed drives me to put the proper amount of work in, which I have done because I have paid the price to talk the talk. Which spills over into my ego and I like that I get to say I am the greatest person to ever live. Simply because I get it done in the squared circle.
Enforcer smirks.
Enforcer: Ms. Areano, you are simply in my way of making that happen which means I have to go through you because I am not only going to be the measuring stick as far as this championship right here in front of me but I will do what I have to do to become BWF World Champion. So, all of you wrestling tonight, enjoy the spotlight while you can. When one of you makes it out the other side as World Champion, I’ll be waiting.
Enforcer takes a sip of scotch as Havok fades to commercial.
Coming Soon on the BWF Network
Finale heads down to the ring first, wearing a spiffy new referee shirt and, yes, a bright shiny whistle. He looks every bit the part of a professional football ref (either kind) and less an actual wrestling referee.
Alison James: An interesting take on the concept of special referee here tonight from Finale.
Liam Stewart: He is a PROFESSIONAL, Alison! JUST LOOK AT THAT WHISTLE!
Gabe Shelley and AJ Adams make their way down to the ring, then prepare for the match. Gabe eyes Finale up and down, clearly unsure what to make of this whole situation, while AJ is simply amused.
Alison James: Two weeks ago, Finale shut out Gabe’s wife -
Liam Stewart: And your sister!
Alison James: …AND my sister, in a very one-sided affair. There’s no way that sat well with Gabe, who already seems to have something to prove against Finale. Tonight could go either way, that’s for certain, but it may come down to whichever way the referee WANTS it to go.
Finale insists that both men are patted down thoroughly before the match commences. He takes the time to instruct both men on what is and isn’t allowed in this match (no hair pulling, so on and so forth) and blows his whistle to kick the match off. The bell rings and Finale immediately moves over to the ropes on the side, yelling “HEY! THAT’S WHAT THE WHISTLE IS FOR!” before eyeballing the timekeeper. As Finale turns his attention back to the match, Gabe and AJ lock up, with AJ quickly dropping Gabe with a Fireman’s carry into a headlock. Gabe breaks free and jumps up but AJ is ready with a running knee to the side of Shelley’s face. He covers, but Gabe kicks out after 1.
Liam Stewart: AJ Adams coming out of the gate hot! He’s riding high after a big win last week, and you have to think, if he makes it to Hellbound, he’s gonna have F.M.’s number.
The match continues, with AJ carrying most of the early momentum, while Finale does exactly what he promised to do the previous week on social media; call it down the middle. Gabe begins to regain the momentum, getting a near fall or two, but he is still trying to keep one eye on Finale, which is causing an unneeded distraction against a very capable foe. AJ can sense this and shouts “GABE, LOOK OUT!” and points at Finale, at which point Gabe turns only to see Finale looking confused. He shrugs, Gabe shakes his head and turns back… right into a Last Call (Codebreaker)! Adams covers… 1… 2… 3-NO! Shelley gets his shoulder up at the last second!
Alison James: AJ Adams is normally an upstanding guy, but he’s showing that he isn’t above a trick or two tonight if it means fulfilling his dream of becoming the first-ever five time BWF World Champion.
Liam Stewart: Hey, use every resource you have. Gabe’s head is clearly not in the game tonight and AJ is a shark smelling blood in the water. Gabe’s obsession with Finale is going to cost him a main event opportunity if this continues.
AJ picks Gabe up, saying something to him inaudibly, when Gabe boots him in the gut and levels him with The reVolt (Cradle Shock) out of nowhere! He covers… but there’s no count! The crowd boos as Gabe sits up and looks over at Finale, who is once again arguing with the timekeeper over how he should not ring the bell again over his whistle. Gabe stands up and spins Finale around angrily, questioning him, but Finale simply apologizes and blames the timekeeper.
Alison James: Finale may have just cost Gabe a win there, but it’s genuinely hard to tell if it was on purpose or simply poor timing on Finale’s part.
Liam Stewart: Hey, SOMEBODY has to keep the timekeeper in line. Dude is DRUNK with power!
Before Gabe can turn his attention back to his opponent, AJ sneaks up behind him and tries to apply the Lights Out (Tazzmission)! He isn’t able to cinch the move in, however, as Gabe grabs AJ before he can clamp down and hoists him over his body in a judo-esque throw… sending him flying right into Finale! Adams and Finale tumble down to the mat and Gabe can only watch as Finale stands back up, dusts off his brand-new shirt, checks on his whistle, then blows said whistle, calling for the end of the match!
Alison James: Uh, alright, there’s no bell, but I guess… that’s the end of the match?
Finale exits the ring and whispers something to ring announcer Scott Benjamin, who raises an eyebrow, but continues on with the announcement regardless.
Scott Benjamin: Ladies and gentlemen, your winner of this match, as the result of a disqualification… AJ ADAMS!!!
WINNER: AJ Adams, via Disqualification
"Lights Out" by P.O.D. hits the BlazenTron as AJ recovers in the ring. Gabe rolls out of the ring to argue with Finale, but the referee will have no part of it, blowing his whistle loudly in Gabe’s face before making his way up the ramp.
Alison James: In what universe is what we just witnessed a disqualification?
Liam Stewart: From my vantage point, Gabe wielded AJ as a foreign object and attacked the referee with him. Frankly, Finale made the right call here.
Alison James: Oh, come on. I would hardly say that was an intentional hit on Shelley’s part.
Liam Stewart: Finale thought differently, and he is the one with the whistle, so…
Alison James: Well, it’s not without controversy, but our field is set; at Retribution, AJ Adams will join Finale, Johnny Maverick, Nessa Wall and F.M. Young inside the Hellbound Match for the vacant World Title, while Gabe Shelley will face his wife, Katie, Jaxon Taylor, Azurine Vebbins and Anaru Kalua in a Championship Scramble Match for the vacant Sovereign Title.
Liam Stewart: Plus, don’t forget Talia Areano battling Enforcer in a rematch for the International Title, too!
Alison James: Indeed, Retribution is going to be one for the ages. Make sure you don’t miss it! For Liam Stewart, I’m Alison James… good night from Milwaukee! Good night from the House of Blazenwing!
We see one final shot of AJ Adams celebrating while Gabe watches on, disappointed, before the show fades to the BWF logo, and then to black.
