Heatwave 2 - August 29, 2016
Announcer: And now, the Blazenwing Wrestling Federation, in association with Soldier Field, proudly presents... HEATWAVE 2!!!
As the video package detailing the hottest feuds of the summer ends, the lights inside Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois dim and a massive pyro show ignites the ramp and stage! The turnbuckles even explode with pyro as the nearly sixteen second long pyro show ends with a shower of orange sparks dropping down onto the stage. The spotlights begin swiveling around the sold out stadium as "Black Cadillac" by Shinedown blasts over the sound system. The crowd is at a fevered pitch as the cameras finally settle on the classic BWF announce team of Nick Webb and Rob "Rayne" Stratowzky.
Nick Webb: WE ARE LIVE IN CHICAGO! BWF is BACK on the air, and what a mega event we have in store for you all tonight!
Rayne: Every Championship is on the line here in Soldier Field! But perhaps most intriguing of all is tonight's main event, because Nick, we have NO IDEA who will be challenging the menacing Fenryr Wulfsson for the BWF World Championship.
Nick Webb: The more important question is, does it even matter? Wulfsson has shown no signs of weakness since becoming BWF World Champion back in April, and Rayne, he may be the closest thing we've ever had to an invincible World Champ.
Rayne: Not to mention... oh hang on! Speak of the devil, here comes the Champ now!
School's In
Ragnarok steps out onto the ramp as "Tattered Banners and Bloody Flags" plays over the sound system. The four walk down the ramp towards the ring, not caring about the crowd's negative reaction. As they approach the ring, Fenryr throws the championship belt over the top rope and into the ring, narrowly missing Scott Benjamin, before sliding under the bottom rope. Scott takes the hint, drops his mic, and climbs out of the ring. Rune takes the microphone.
Rune Sigidottir: Good evening everyone! I know after such a long time all of you are just dying to hear me say something to brighten up your small lives, but it won't be tonight. I'm only here to ask all of you to sit down, shut your little mouths, and listen to what our illustrious World Champion has to say.
Rune passes the microphone to Fenryr, who begins to speak after the audience quiets down from booing Rune's remarks.
Fenryr Wulfsson: I can tell it's been a hot summer, which is unfortunate because it seems to have scrambled a bunch of the other wrestler's brains. I get back a few days ago and I get this message. Apparently, Katie Shelley has made some sort of match where everyone gets together and fights, then the winner gets a shot at my world title. It...sounds...like a good idea. The part that I find interesting is that there wasn't a line of people outside her office today begging to be taken out of that match. One of you unlucky souls is going to climb into this ring, with me, after having the hell beat out of you in a Battle Royal? I'd heard that the public education system in this country was struggling, but this is ridiculous.
The crowd begins to boo as Ragnarok soaks it all up. After it dies down, Fenryr continues.
Fenryr Wulfsson: So, in order to make up for the lack of common sense and self-preservation instinct that everyone on the roster seems to have, as your World Champion I'm enrolling everyone into a class. It's called Pain and Suffering 101, and you're all in luck. I'm going to be the professor. Expect lots of one-on-one practical application through this course, and your final exam will be your final resting place. There is no grading on a curve either, so you should all expect to fail. So for whoever wins this Battle Royal tonight, good night and good luck. I would say you're going to need it, but you don't. You're going to need a miracle.
Ragnarok's music begins to play again as Fenryr snatches up his belt and holds it over his head. After a few moments, the group departs to ring and heads back up the ramp.
Nick Webb: Folks, we're just about ready to kick things off here, but real quick, a few things. First, we've just received word from the back that Eric Ingvar and Karli Frost have elected to NOT compete in this match, in a show of solidarity for their stable mate, BWF World Champion Fenryr Wulfsson, and so that they may focus their efforts on their BWF Tag Team Title Match tonight.
Rayne: Second, and this is the big one... this isn't gonna be your average battle royal! We're gonna conduct this match under GAUNTLET RUN RULES! How awesome is that!?
Nick Webb: Yes, indeed, apparently our General Manager Katie Shelley made the call this morning to, and I quote, "make this the epic-est match in the history of history". Her words.
Rayne: Are they even actual words?
Nick Webb: Who can tell with our Miss Shelley? (Laughs) Well folks, let's get this Golden Gauntlet Match kicked off! Bring out numbers one and two!
Luke Mathews drew the unlucky number one and is waiting in the ring as the lights came up. Darius Wilson's music hits and the former Trios Champion wasted no time in running down the ramp and sliding into the ring. The two locked up immediately, throwing their weight at each other, attempting to gain some leverage. Mathews got the upper hand with a series of swift kicks to Wilson's knees, he clotheslined Wilson into the ropes. Darius bounced off instead of going over, meeting Mathews' charge with a flying chop block.
Rayne: Critical collision! They're both down and out!
Both men lie in the middle of the ring and the fans count the clock down as Erwin Kingston charged down the ramp and into the ring. The two Trios champions locked eyes and seem to nod at each other. They team up to make short work of Wilson, Mathews pulled the man to his feet by the under arm and Kingston hit him with a spear, that Mathews moved away from. Mathews lifted Wilson again, for a German suplex. Kingston and Mathews grabbed Wilson and jointly tossed the winded former Trios Champion over the ropes.
Eliminated: Darius Wilson
Nick Webb: And we have our first elimination!
The clock hit zero as Destiny Figgins came bouncing off the top rope with a Coast to Coast Missile Dropkick that caught Mathews on the jaw. Mathews rolled away, Destiny turned right into a high knee from Kingston. The former Justicar is down but not out, bringing Erwin to her level with leg sweep. She popped up and grabbed Kingston and took him down again with a Loco-Go-Round as the crowd cheered her on. Kingston got to his feet and tried to whip Figgins into the ropes, only to have the maneuver reversed. He found himself launched into Mathews and the pair staggers toward the ropes. The boy's caught themselves and start arguing, leaving Kingston to be blindsided by another missile dropkick. Kingston isn't able to save himself; he toppled over the ropes in shock.
Eliminated: Erwin Kingston
Rayne: And there goes one half of the Queen's Soldiers!
Mathews watched Figgins warily, knowing at this point better than to take his eyes off her. The staring contest proved unfortunate, because both competitors missed Meryl Archer's entrance.
Nick Webb: One Champion eliminated, a new Champion enters! Miss Meryl is on a tear!
Archer started to clean house immediately, hitting Figgins with a Tiger Suplex that sent her sprawling across the ring. Figgin's managed to grab onto the bottom rope and stay just inside of the ring. Mathews dropped Archer with a crossbody. He moved to clothesline Figgins back to the ropes, she spider monkeyed onto Mathews and pulled him with her, the two of them struggled against the ropes. Until Archer lumbered over and picked up Mathews by the waist, hefting him over the ropes. The three of them pulled and tugged at each other, with Figgins on the apron, while Mathews clung to the ropes for dear life. Archer nailed him with some stiff punches, grabbing his legs with her free hand and forcing them over. The tag team champion nailed him again, this time with a shoulder block that drove the air out of him and tossed him from the apron.
Eliminated: Luke Mathews
Rayne: NOOOOOO! I BET TWO THOUSAND ON MATHEWS! DAMN YOU, COMPELLING AXW PROGRAMMING!!!
Figgins came off the turn buckles with a split-legged corkscrew moonsault, crashing into Archer. The impact seemed to have little effect on Archer, who was right back on her feet driving Figgins into the mat with a powerslam. Danny Hall stood on the apron, the clock having ticked over while no one was paying attention again, waiting for the moment Figgins got to close to the ropes. He grabbed her and pulled, Archer came charging up shoulder blocking them both. Hall and Figgins went flying, but both held onto the top rope, Figgins managing to fling herself back under the bottom rope with the momentum. Archer and Hall battled now, Archer pressing a boot to his face, Hall latched onto the second rope like a lamprey.
Nick Webb: Danny Hall, showing his determination to win the big one here.
Elijah Hill took the opportunity to make his entrance and pick Archer up from behind, attempting to foist her over the ropes. A couple of sharp elbows to the head saved Meryl, her feet back on the ground she kicked Hill in the knee and picked him up, turning to vertical suplex him toward the ropes. Danny ceased the moment and grabbed Hill's tights, completing his slide over the ropes to the floor.
Eliminated: Elijah Hill
Rayne: And a second member of the Brothers of Revolution has been toppled!
Danny saw it coming and wisely ducked out of the way of an enziguri aimed at his head from Figgins. He got himself off the apron and fully into the ring, spring to his feet and hitting Archer with a throat chop, bringing her down with a DDT while she was stunned. He repeated the throat chop on Figgins, whipping her into the ropes and pulling off a surprising and punishing discuss clothesline. Destiny Figgins found her luck had ran out in midair, nothing to cling to as she hit the ground.
Eliminated: Destiny Figgins
Nick Webb: Out goes Mrs. Maverick! Somewhere, J-Mav just broke a television set.
Neil Daniels thought for a moment that he was going get the better of Hall, as he vaulted over the ropes. Lucky Danny once again ducked the maneuver, leaving Daniels to crash into Archer. They tumbled, but not for long as Hall pulled Daniels to his feet, he shouted and gesture for Arhcer to get a couple of shots in while he held Daniels. Archer needed to further coaxing, slamming knife edged chops into Daniels's chest. Hall let him go and he staggered into an exploder suplex from Archer, Hall sauntered over and release powerbombed the shell shocked Daniel's over the ropes, where his back and feet hit the floor.
Eliminated: Neil Daniels
Rayne: All three members of BroRev are gone! A sad day for anarchists everywhere!
Alejandro Torres was next into the ring, dropping Archer with a sidewalk slam and locking up with Hall. Hal was struggling to keep away from the ropes, shoulder shoving Torres's bigger frame desperately. Torres grinned as he backed Danny into the ropes, peppering him with chops.
Nick Webb: Hall's in a bad way here.
The clock hit zero again and Archer was on her feet, pulled there by none other than Emily Corlen. The tagteam champions rushed Torres, Danny hit the deck, sliding beneath Torres's feet. Corlen laid into Torres with a European upper cut and Archer returned the sidewalk slam. Up and over he went out of the ring, to the concrete below, courtesy of the tag team champs.
Eliminated: Alejandro Torres
Rayne: And Torres is gone, courtesy of the Blonde Bombshells!
Nick Webb: That's not their team name, though. Too close to Da Bomb. I hear there were mumblings of a lawsuit.
Rayne: You gotta stop reading the dirtsheets, man.
Nick Webb: WELL, IF WE HAD SHOWS TO PUT ON, MAYBE I WOULDN'T HAVE TIME!
Danny Hall backed up, putting his hands up, signaling he wanted nothing to do with the pair. F.M. Young leapt over the ropes just as he was backing up. She hefted him onto her shoulders and landed the Boom Pow on Hall, who flailed into the ropes, Young High Kneed him the rest of the way over and Hall went fish flopping onto the floor.
Eliminated: Danny Hall
Rayne: NOOOOO I BET TWO THOUS-hahahahahaha, I'm kidding. Bye, Danny!
Archer made a move toward Young, only to have Corlen put out a hand to stop her. Meryl made a face of disapproval as the three stared each other down. Brianna Park brought the fight right to Young, pulling off a text book senton off the top rope. Young went down, but kipped up to her feet fairly quickly. Corlen and Archer stood watching as Park and Young exchanged blows, Brianna hefting Young for a knee drop. Young mule kicked off the ground, catching Park in the jaw. Park righted herself quickly and began dishing out some chops of her own.
Nick Webb: Brianna Park asserting herself as a former World Champion and Happenstance Queen!
Da Bomb took advantage of this, with a swinging neck breaker to Young, having made her entrance also. Young rolled up to her feet again, pushed into the corner by Park and Da Bomb, who took turns getting blows in. No love lost between these three, they jointly whipped Young across the ring into the other corner. F.M. hit the turn buckle, Da Bomb and Park dashed over and lifted her legs attempting to throw her over. Young fought Da Bomb off with kicks, but Park grabbed her ankles and shoved. Young held onto the ropes, flipping over the turnbuckle. She dangles for a moment, before using her strength to pull herself back over the ring post. Her ankles locked around Parks neck, Young head scissoring her longtime foe over the tope rope.
Eliminated: Brianna Park
Rayne: And Brianna Park is gone! One of the favorites to win this thing, no doubt!
The Tag team champs had Miguel Perez to contend with, he suplexed Corlen and exchanged blows with Archer. Da Bomb whipped Young into the fray and she bashed against Archer, sending her into the ropes. Perez took that moment to try and hoist her over, Corlen came in for the save, but Da Bomb slammed into Perez, giving the needed push to flip Archer over the ropes. She held on as Corlen grabbed for her but Perez lifted Corlen as well, kicking at Archer's chest and arms. Young darted in and pulled Corlen back, upsetting the whole delicate balance. Corlen swung back over Perez's shoulders and into the ring, while Perez lost his footing, nailing Archer hard in the jaw in the process and inadvertently eliminated Archer.
Eliminated: Meryl Archer
Nick Webb: Corlen just eliminated her own Tag Team partner! On accident, but still!
Rayne: Accident my left foot! There are NO FRIENDS in a Gauntlet situation! Just winners and losers!
Corlen and Young each took a leg of Perez's and sent him flying out shortly after in all the chaos.
Eliminated: Miguel Perez
Rayne: Like that. A loser. Because he got thrown out. HA!
Emily Corlen made a 'be my guest gesture,' as Young looked at her and stalked toward Da Bomb. Da Bomb thought she was going to get a hammerlock locked in on Young, but sharp elbow's to the gut dissuaded that notion. Young sent Da Bomb across the ring with an exploder suplex, where Corlen hit her with a spear almost midair. Da Bomb, having been knocked for a loop, couldn't mount enough resistance to stop Young and Corlen from carrying her to the ropes and dumping her over. Young throwing a two finger salute at Bomb.
Eliminated: Da Bomb
Nick Webb: F.M. Young just eliminated her Championship opponent later tonight! A portent of things to come, perhaps?
Damian Kingston entered the ring at the end of the count down. Corlen dragon whipped him into Young who hit him with a dropkick. He popped back up and DDT'd Young before shoulder blocking a charging Corlen away from him.
Rayne: Damian Kingston cleaning house with his brother M.I.A.!
Kaito Hirano joined the fight the fight, coming in like thunder, clotheslining Corlen, taking Kingston down with a dragon suplex and laying Young out with a jumping DDT. He stood for a moment among the fallen bodies, before locking up with Emily who was back on her feet. She sent him into the ropes and hit him with a polish hammer when he rebounded. She picked up, getting ready to press slam him over the ropes, when Kingston dropkicked her from behind. Hirano landed inside the ring and Corlen bounced off the ropes. She hit Kingston with fall away slam, pulled him to his feet and then finished him off with the Skullcracker sending him flying over the ropes.
Eliminated: Damian Kingston
Nick Webb: Well, now Damian can go find Erwin backstage!
Austin Scott entered the ring and speared Hirano as he and Young traded blows. Hirano fought back when he got to his feet with shoot kicks. Hirano followed that up with some chops, he thought he could set Scott up for the Oyasumi [Goodnight], but Scott fought out. Instead Kaito was treated to a dose of Law and Order. Scott pulled Hirano to his feet and sent him for the ride, before using the Straight Whiskey to send Kaito Hirano home for the show, out over the ropes.
Eliminated: Kaito Hirano
Rayne: KONNICHIWA, HIRANO-SAN!
Nick Webb: Wouldn't it be Sayonara?
Rayne: SILENCE, YOU!
Austin Scott and Emily Corlen locked up, he used another shot of Straight Whiskey on her to, but she hung onto the ropes. Scott set up for the Goin' Muddin.' He nailed it, before Corlen to could gather her wits again, she went bouncing back off the apron and to the tile below.
Eliminated: Emily Corlen
Nick Webb: WOW! Austin Scott just eliminated Emily Corlen! This crowd is IRATE!
F.M. Young thought to make the save, but was stopped by a blast of Fitzsimmons Pride. Young stumbled back and Spyke Gein went for an up 360 No-Scope! Instead Young dropped to the ground on her own, avoiding the kick. The former Sovereign Champion held onto the ring post, while the current Sovereign Champion rained kicks down onto her back and mid-section.
Rayne: These two are no strangers to one another, and dare I say, there's some unfinished business there.
Alison James jumped into the ring to a crowd pop. She dove from the corner into Scott, sending the Cowboy crashing into the 16bit Superstar. Gein shoved Scott away from him, only to be kicked in the stomach by Austin, who looked for Ace in the Hole. Spyke reversed it into BITCRUSH!
Nick Webb: BITCRUSH! WHAT A MOVE!
Allen Chaney came to the ring with a bent for destruction, laying into Scott instantly with a bionic elbow. Gein and Chaney nodded firmly at each other, each grabbing one of Scotts legs and tossing him over and out of the rumble like newspaper on a Sunday morning.
Eliminated: Austin Scott
Rayne: We're seeing a Rejects reunion here in Chicago! Chaney and Gein are on a tear, Nick!
James thought she would land a springboard moonsalt on Young, who had just gotten to her feet after Gein's kicking. Instead James was caught flat footed, surprised by the power of the One Woman Army. Who snagged James out of midair and planted her in the mat with a spine buster.
Nick Webb: And so is F.M. Young! Is Alison James still conscious after that nasty spinebuster?!
Elena Simonova was the next entrant. She made a splash, taking down Gein with a devastating early Reverse Psychology. She was quickly Gutwrench Powerbombed by Chaney in retaliation. Simonova doesn't stay down though, meeting Allen with a flying crossbody, rolling up and landing the Hammer and Sickle on him as he stood. James hit Young with a Surface of Revolution. Young was slower to kip up, showing signs of fatigue. F.M. softened James up with some shinkicks to the gut, before sending her into the corner and taking her down the Superchick. She rolled up and hauled James up, airplane spinning her out of the ring.
Eliminated: Alison James
Rayne: Well, if she was before, she isn't now! HA!
Jay Blazenwing entered the ring only to be clocked by Fitzsimmons Pride on the way in. Jay grabbed onto Gein's neck, hanging them both up in the ring ropes. Spyke fought his way back into the ring, apparently pulling Jay back in with him. Jaw vaulted up over the ropes, planting Gein with a brainbuster on the way down. Simonova takes advantage of the situation, grabbing Gein up for a Vodka Tonic. She gets Spyke against the ropes after the move, fighting to get him over. She lands a couple of high knees and dragged him in for another Vodka Tonic. Gein tried to reverse it into a BITCRUSH! But just can't quite seem to. Instead he's stunned and pulled to his feet again. Elena sends Gein into an Irish whip that leaves him right in the path of a Blazen-Crane from Blazenwing. Jay slams into Spyke just after the kick and shoulders him up and over.
Eliminated: Spyke Gein
Nick Webb: Jay-Blaze just eliminated Gein!
Jay is grabbed from behind and given the Set-Up by Allen Chaney, immediately followed by the Punchline. Jay Blazenwing joins Spyke Gein on the floor, Allen having tossed him out quickly as revenge.
Eliminated: Jay Blazenwing
Rayne: And there goes Jay, courtesy of Spyke's old partner and opponent tonight, Allen Chaney!
Kurt Hullum makes his way to the ring, but instead of entering he stands there a moment watching the fight continue. Chaney and Simonova are exchanging blows in the middle of the ring, Elena treats him to an Enzuigiri. Which leaves Young with the opportunity to bring down Chaney with a running bulldog as he gets back to his feet. Young is taken down by a high knee from Simonova, Young lands on her back and brings Simonova down with a mule kick. By this time Chaney is on his feet again, dragging Simonova over into a backbreaker, before either woman can get up and capitalize on anything. Chaney however can and does, lifting up Simonova and pump handle slamming her out and over the top.
Eliminated: Elena Simonova
Nick Webb: And Elena Simonova is down and out, even as her former pupil makes her long-awaited appearance in this match!
Sabrina Scott made her entrance too late to save her teacher, but the two high fived on Elena's way out, with the redhead grabbing the bubbly superstar and telling her to "get it done"! Hullum had decided that point was as good as any to actually participate in the match, jumping in and landing a cutter on Scott as she entered the ring proper. Sabrina got to her feet and retaliated with a tornado DDT on Kurt. Meanwhile Chaney and Young were trading blows, Young whipped him into Hullum and the two of them begin to brawl.
Rayne: We've got a full on brawl here at Heatwave!
Jacob Figgins finally joins the chaos with a merry shout, he flounced in and treats Hullum to an atomic drop. He kicks Allen in the gut and follows up with an S.A.F., the Comedian was slow to get up this time and it costs him, as Kurt is up, taking advantage of a slow Chaney with a back body drop. Figgins nails Scott with a German suplex, but Scott fights out before he can set up for the Stay Down. Instead he gets some shin kicks in, only to have her bounce off the ropes and get him on the mat an arm drag take down. She gets to the ropes again and moonsaults onto a standing Hullum, bringing him down too.
Nick Webb: This is CHAOS!
Rayne: I LOVE IT!
Chaney had Young in a bear hug and is trying to force her over the top rope, after thrashing her around in the hold, Chaney had a limp Young out on the apron. He let go, only to find that Young had played possum and was holding onto the second rope. She stares at him before bouncing over the ropes and crashing into him. Young rolls away into the corner for a breather before Figgins comes sweeping in, picking up Chaney. Figgins hauls him over to the ropes and the two struggle, see-sawing wildly as they both exchange punches and try to put each other over the top. Figgins gets Chaney up and over, but as he lets go, Chaney decides to keep a hold of his neck, they teeter for a moment. Before Chaney actually pushes off the apron, dropping to the ground dragging Figgins with him.
Eliminated: Allen Chaney
Eliminated: Jacob Figgins
Nick Webb: I'm not sure if it was on purpose or not, but Allen just pulled Figgy out of this match!
Hullum, Scott and Young stare at each other in the center of the ring. Hullum shakes his head, says 'I don't need this,' and slides out of the ring. He grabs his brief case and holds it up as he walks away, eliminating himself.
Eliminated: Kurt Hullum
Nick Webb: Wha... why would he...
Rayne: Hullum is Mr. Money in the Bank! He doesn't need this match, he's ALREADY #1 Contender, whenever he wants to be!
Nick Webb: ...well, regardless of the reasoning, we're down to two, folks! Either Sabrina Scott or F.M. Young will be facing Fenryr Wulfsson in tonight's main event!
Scott gestures in disbelief and Young shrugs, finally Young holds out her hand and Scott high fives it. The two grin at each other for a moment and both seem to hesitate at getting started. Cautiously they lock up and test each other's strength, Young hiptosses Scott across the ring. Scott rights herself and comes off the middle rope with a flying neckbreaker. She capitalizes on the moment with The Alley-Oop. Young writhed in pain, but managed to climb to her feet and halt Scott's momentum with a wheelbarrow driver. She lifts up Scott and heads toward the ropes, but Scott gets her feet on the top rope and starts fighting. Rough elbow strikes and some wild pitching unbalance Young enough for Scott to get out of the predicament. She hit Young with a forearm and then a step up enziguri.
Rayne: Sabrina showing this sellout Soldier Field crowd why she's ready to take down Fenryr and get her title back!
Scott pulled Young back to her feet and lifted her up, but before she could get the other woman onto her shoulders Young wriggled out of the hold and lifted Scott up for a sidewalk slam. Young laid on the mat, taking a breather. By the time she got to her feet, she was taken down again, by a senton from Scott. Scott pulled her up again, heading for the ropes. Young struggled and Scott decided to lay her out with a suplex. Scott headed for the top of the turnbuckle, climbing on and landing the Sonic Rainboom. Scott rolled to her feet to a huge pop from the crowd. She drug Young to her feet again and got her over the top rope, only for Young to once again land on the apron.
Nick Webb: Young is holding on by a whisker!
They stared at each other for another moment, before Young bounced up over the ropes and nailed the Negasonic Warhead. She lifted Scott up in a burst of energy and headed for the ropes. Scott struggled again, and Young went to lift her legs onto her shoulders. Scott looked to turn this into a Hurricanrana, Young instead backed away from the ropes and turned it into an assault driver. Young picked up Scott again and place her on the ropes and after ducking an elbow to the head, managed to unbalance Scott with a shoulder shove enough to knock her over, sending her tumbling to the floor.
Eliminated: Sabrina Scott
WINNER AND #1 CONTENDER TO BWF WORLD TITLE: F.M. Young (37:56)
"Move" by Thousand Foot Krutch hits the BlazenTron as F.M. Young stands in the ring and raises her arms, whooping and grinning.
Nick Webb: I DON'T BELIEVE IT!!! F.M. YOUNG WINS! YOUNG IS GOING TO TONIGHT'S MAIN EVENT!!!
Rayne: I'm honestly shocked. I'd never have picked her in a million years!
Nick Webb: Can Miss Young somehow keep this dream alive? Might we see the dawning of a new era tonight at Heatwave 2?
Rayne: Alright, let's not get too carried away. She still has to get past Fenryr Wulfsson, and NOBODY is gonna do that. Not Young, not Sabrina, not the entire combined roster.
Nick Webb: As much as I want to pull for Young... you might be right. Good luck, Alexa!
Rayne: Notify your next of kin!
Nick Webb: RAYNE!
Rayne laughs as the techs finish clearing the ring for the beginning of the next match.
Austin Scott and Damian Kingston are the first to kick things off in the Trios bout. In the opening minutes, Damian makes it clear that he intends to cut off the ring and wear down the largest member of the opposition with precision teamwork, just like Austin makes it clear that he wasn’t having any of that nonsense. Austin attempts to finalize his sequence of offense by charging in with a full head of steam, but it is halted by a flurry of knife edged chops, which granted enough time for the Queen’s Soldiers to do what they do best.
Nick Webb: The brothers from Queens are doing what they do best, showing the world why they're former and current Champions in BWF!
After a somersault senton from Erwin, Luke Matthews is finally tagged in. A slight mess up from over confidence gives Austin the time to tag in Brianna Park. She charges in and cleans house like the crazy ass queen she is. It seems to firmly cement the momentum for Brianna’s team, even as Jay Blazenwing takes over to hold down the fort.
Rayne: The challengers are looking pristine in this contest. Are we moments away from crowning new Trios Champions?
Erwin throws Jay into the ropes, and Jay finds it an opportune time to try for the pendulum Lariat. But, Damian pulls the rope down, causing Jay to spill out of the ring. Erwin tags in his brother even as Luke rushes over to clear away Jay’s partners. Jay goes after Erwin, not realizing Damian is the legal man until The Empire State of Mind (3D) connects and Damian covers Jay for the 1... 2... 3!
WINNERS AND STILL BWF TRIOS CHAMPIONS: Luke Mathews & Queen's Soldiers, via Pinfall (7:12)
"N.Y. State of Mind" by Nas blasts as Erwin, Damian and Luke Matthews all celebrate their victory, enjoying another day as BWF Trios Champions.
Fan Interaction
As the victorious Trios Champions clear the ring, a fan takes it upon herself to climb onto the stage and sort of hijack the show. A very elaborate and planned out hijacking, at that. As soon as the girl gets on the stage, so does a DJ and a troupe of partiers. How this whole ensemble managed to sneak onto the very stage is beyond anyone’s knowledge, but staff is quick to converge onto the scene and begin escorting the cast out of the area... all except for the hooded woman that climbed on stage first.
Nick Webb: Who in the world is that?
She is a small woman, probably barely reaching five feet. She nimbly dips and darts to avoid the security trying to subdue her. The chase leads the girl down to the ring, where she snatches a microphone away from Scott Benjamin, and even pauses to do a rather head flailing version of the running man dance before once more darting away from a tackle.
Mystery Girl: I’m a guest here!
Zigging and zagging, most of the security is left winded. She hops over the barricade, only to disappear into the crowd.
Mystery Girl: Never gonna catch me!
She steals a hat from an audience member before completely vanishing, leaving everyone to wonder what the heck just happened.
Rayne: ...so... on to the next match?
Nick Webb: Yes, indeed. Live television, folks. There's nothing quite like it! (laughs)
In a surprising twist, Emily practically wrestlers the entire tag team match by herself. Meryl, the entire time, seems rather uninterested in the whole ordeal. In fact, she dodges any attempt at a tag, but Emily manages to hold her own against Ragnarok. Even then, Meryl only seems interested in tagging herself in to steal the spotlight away from Emily.
Nick Webb: This doesn't bode well for the Tag Team Champions.
Rayne: The sour grapes from what happened earlier in the battle royal seems to be fermenting, along with the friction that has been growing between the Tag Champions.
Nick Webb: ...that was surprisingly astute, Rayne.
Rayne: Huh? Oh, sorry, I was just reading a tweet someone just sent me. What's going on, now?
Nick facepalms as, in ring, the numbers game finally gets the better of Emily. Eric and Karli barrage the former BWF C.E.O. with rapid tags and double team maneuvers, but to her credit, Emily seems impossible to keep down. Every attempt to pin Corlen simply comes to a kickout at two.
Nick Webb: And now, Ragnarok is dealing with the woman who has held six World Championships. Even in a potential handicap situation, you shouldn't count the Emerald Phoenix out!
The fans cheer loudly for Emily to get back into things, even as they chant for Meryl to save her partner, but it seems to no avail as Emily begins to red line. Ingvar finally looks like he found the moment to finish the match and sets Emily up for the Sudden Drop (Avalanche DDT), but finally, Meryl hops in for the save, grabbing Emily and pulling her out of the ring before the move could connect!
Rayne: And Meryl Archer is done playing around!
The crowd pops and Emily looks relieved that her partner finally has a change of heart... but before she can even turn to head back into the ring, Meryl boots Emily in the chest, then lifts her up and drops her with a Fisherman's Buster on the floor!
Nick Webb: OH MY GOD! Did you hear that sickening thud?!
Rayne: Corlen isn't moving!
As the crowd boos loudly, Meryl deadlifts the limp Emily up and rolls her into the ring. Eric and Karli look to one another for a moment, before Eric drops down into the cover and scores the 1, 2, 3! We have new Tag Team Champions!
WINNERS AND NEW BWF TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: Karli Frost & Eric Ingvar, via Pinfall (11:16)
"Tattered Banners and Bloody Flags" by Amon Amarth starts playing over the BlazenTron as Karli and Eric celebrate their win with their new titles over the fallen Emily Corlen. Meryl smirks, walking up the ramp, as Karli screams "AFTER TONIGHT, RAGNAROK RUNS BWF!"
Don't Question My Heart
Don McMichael stands beside F.M. Young backstage after the company wide battle royal. FM finishes drinking a sports drink and opens a can of monster, pulling the match out of her mouth to drink it.
Don McMichael: I'm standing here with the winner of the company-wide number one contender battle royal, the new world title number one contender F.M. Young. F.M., how do you feel right now?
F.M. Young: (She throws the sports drink bottle away.) I feel fantastic, I mean did you see all that? All props to Sabrina Scott. That was a great fight, but she's going to have to wait to get back in the World Title picture. Tonight is the night MY girlhood dream comes true.
Don McMichael: You were in that Royal for a long time and winding down toward the end. Some would even call it a very lucky win.
F.M. Young: I'm the One Woman Army, I was built for this. Luck can have a factor in it, definitely. But it takes a certain amount of skill to be able to capitalize on luck. I've got that, and I've got that boundless energy... Well. (She shakes the energy drink can.) Sort of. Anyway, sure I get tossed around, but keeping me down? That's almost an impossibility.
Don McMichael: Good point. You do seem to have a heart and endurance that won't quit. But Fenryr Wulfsson is a man whose notoriously hard to take on even at full strength. That has to rattle you, going in to what is a daunting task not at full strength?
F.M. Young: I think Fenryr Norselastname can bring it. I want him to bring it, I've been living and breathing for moments like this. I want him to bring the fire and everything else he's got. His goons too. So that when I beat him when I walk out of here world champion, he knows it's because he couldn't win. I don't want anyone questioning it.
Don McMichael: Fair enough, certainly after a night like this, no one could question it. Do you have any final thoughts here before we head back to ringside?
F.M. Young: I do. I've never lost a title match as the challenger. Ever. I go after gold. I get it. That's a simple fact. Fenryr Wulfsson, I'm coming for that World Title and thinking I can't win it? That's going to be a critical miss, because, no one, NO ONE questions my heart. Now, I have a match to get ready for, Don.
F.M. throws the empty energy drink can into a trashcan just off camera, the can making a clang as it lands. She gives a two finger salute, puts the match back into her mouth and walks off camera.
Destiny tried to let it go. She really has. The sudden coldness from her best friend. Coldness that turned into blinding hot rage. But when the grudge crossed over into AXW territory and cut her title reign suddenly short? Well, that left her more than a little more than frustrated at her former partner.
Nick Webb: Many would say that making the match a Falls Count Anywhere Match makes it horribly lopsided in the favor of the girl who can use anything as a launching pad, Miss Maverick herself, Destiny Figgins.
Rayne: No kidding! It seems as though Destiny has no intention of ever taking this thing to the ring!
Alison, however kicks a chair out from under Destiny at the right time and takes control of the match, taking a far more scientific and dissecting pace to the match, to the point where it seems Destiny’s knee is going to be tender throughout the rest of the match. Though, Alison’s rage overcomes her once again and she goes outside to gather a weapon. But, being Destiny, she does it in style, as she flies right out of the ring with an outside shooting star press!
Nick Webb: What a move!
The fight makes its way into the crowd; a brawl that eventually leads to Alison being sprawled out on a table. Destiny has ample chance to end the match there, but her thrillseeking gets the better of her. She climbs up to the area directly above and, after posturing, she goes to dive bomb Alison with the Fiery Illusion (Swandive Elbow Drop), only for Alison to roll off the table with more than enough time to see the look on Destiny’s face before she crashed and burned!
Rayne: HA! And THAT'S why Alison James is the most brilliant woman in sports today! She baited Destiny in and reeled her into her own demise, hook, line and sinker!
Indeed, all that remains is for Alison to place her foot on her former friend’s chest to claim the victory.
WINNER: Alison James, via Pinfall (12:34)
The crowd boos as "Requiem the Fifth" by Trans-Siberian Orchestra cues up and Alison smugly makes her way through the jeering crowd and back to the ring. She climbs a turnbuckle and pats herself on the back even as techs attend to Destiny, who has barely moved since her ill-timed elbow drop.
Bomb Dropper
The camera shifts backstage, where we see BWF International Champion Da Bomb, bags in hand, heading on her way out of the arena. She turns a corner and stops, and the crowd cheers as the camera pans over to see BWF General Manager Katie Shelley standing in front of her.
Katie Shelley: Hey! I was just looking for ya.
Katie looks down at Bomb's bags.
Katie Shelley: ...you going somewhere?
Da Bomb: Yeah, I figured I'd hop an early flight home.
Katie Shelley: …..why?
Da Bomb: Why not? Look, I'm happy BWF's back. Great show so far. But my scheduled opponent for tonight is now facing Fenryr Wulfsson for the BWF World Title. That means I don't have an opponent. Ergo, my match is off. Ergo ergo, I'm heading home.
Katie smirks.
Katie Shelley: Oh, you sweet, beautiful thing. We promised the fans in Chicago an International Championship Match here tonight at Heatwave 2, and that's exactly what they're going to get!
The crowd roars as Bomb drops her bags in protest.
Da Bomb: But -
Katie Shelley: Yes, I heard you, Miss Young will not be your opponent tonight. But see, I always plan ahead! It's what helped me become one of the hottest superstars in AXW, BWF, TGW, ESW... wherever I ended up competing. So, while F.M. won't be challenging you tonight, you WILL be defending that title.
Da Bomb: Against who?
Katie pauses for a moment.
Katie Shelley: ...you know, I WAS coming to find you so I could inform you of that. But, considering I found you with one foot out the door, I think it might be way more fun for everybody involved if you DON'T know who your opponent is tonight!
A sly grin stretches over the expectant mothers' face even as the Champion raises a hand to protest.
Da Bomb: I'm the longest reigning International Champion in history! This is NO WAY to treat a competitor of my caliber!
Katie Shelley: Oh, you'll be fine. I believe in you! Just pretend you have that silly little skunk to root for you, and you'll be as good as gold! Now, go get dressed, 'cause your match is coming up right after the next one!
Katie turns, then immediately spins back around.
Katie Shelley: Oh, and Miss Bomb? Do have fun out there. At the end of the day, isn't that what it's all about?
Da Bomb grabs her bags and walks away in a huff back towards her locker room as the camera transitions back to ringside.
The match starts with Jacob Figgins lounging on the ring ropes, as Danny Hall ducks a grappling attempt by Kaito Hirano. Elena Simonova makes her presence felt, catching Danny in the back of the head with a drop kick. Figgins moves out of the way of Hall's falling body and even pushes Hirano into Simonova, when Hirano tries to bring him into the action. Figgins goes back to lounging; Hall seemed content to let him, while Hirano and Simonova traded shots. Hirano gets a spinning heel kick in, and Simonova goes down, only to drag Hirano with her with a Russian leg sweep. Hall gets in on the action, hitting Simonova with a dominator. He throws a throat chop at Hirano, who nails him right back. Simonova hits a high knee and looks to wrap him up in the Arm of the Kremlin, but Hirano breaks up the hold before she gets it locked in. Instead Simonova takes Hirano down with a northern lights suplex. She gets a short two count for her trouble, before Hirano kicks out. She lifts him again, getting nailed with shin strikes when she attempts a grapple. Instead he surprises her with a dragon suplex and keeps the pressure on, hitting a blue thunder bomb immediately after. Simonova is showing signs of wearing out after the royal and can't manage to fight out of the Oyasumi [Goodnight], despite a valiant effort with strikes. Hirano gets a three count.
Eliminated: Elena Simonova
Nick Webb: WOW! Kaito Hirano just eliminated one of the only two four-time BWF World Champions in company history!
Rayne: I'm honestly shocked. I had Simonova pinned as a favorite!
Hall has no choice but to grapple with an approaching Hirano, coming off the ropes to hit Hirano with a flying cross body. Figgins seemed to be eating popcorn and nobody is sure where he got it from. Hirano pops back up and drives Hall to the mat with a DDT. For whatever reason, at this point Figgins decided it was a good time to join the fight, having ditched the popcorn. Catching Hirano with a facebuster. Figgins picked up Hirano and set him on the top rope, Hall sat back and watched as Figgins climbed to the top turnbuckle. From there he landed LARIATOOOO! on Hirano. Both men crashed and went rolling. Danny took the opportunity this granted him and he pulled a sluggish Hirano in for the Hallway to Hell. Picture perfect and Hall hooked the leg for the three count.
Eliminated: Kaito Hirano
Nick Webb: And the Champion just sent Kaito down the Hallway to Hell!
Rayne: Is... is Danny Hall actually getting better? Like, seriously?
Hall jumped to his feet and threw his hands in the air, only seeming to remember that Figgins was still in the match when the man tapped him on the shoulder. Figgins patted Hall on the back, laughing. Just before he lifted Hall up for a hesitation suplex. He kept hesitating, though trying to walk around the ring and it gave Hall enough room to wiggle out and reverse the maneuver into a DDT. Hall capitalized quickly enough with an atomic drop next. Figgins rolled around for a couple of minutes, way over selling. Finally, Figgins launched himself up and catch Hall in a backbreaker. He goes to follow up, but Hall nails a neckbreaker. Danny Hall is a man on fire tonight as he immediately sets Figgins up to be the next man down the Hallway to Hell. He hooks the leg and gets the three count, and for a moment he looks around somewhat stunned. This time he makes sure he won before celebrating.
WINNER AND STILL BWF CHAOS THEORY CHAMPION: Danny Hall (19:14)
"Remedy" by Seether starts playing over the BlazenTron as Danny Hall rolls out of the ring, grabs the Chaos Theory Title, and jumps into the crowd, beginning the celebration in Chicago. Some of the drunker fans even high five Danny back!
Nick Webb: Danny Hall walked into an incredibly unenvious situation tonight at Heatwave 2, and somehow managed to walk out with his Championship reign unscathed!
Rayne: And honestly, not just "somehow"... the guy eliminated two out of his three opponents! I mean, sure, he maybe got a little lucky with Hirano, but still.
Nick Webb: Are you kinda coming around on Danny, Rayne?
Rayne: I can't believe I'm saying this... but I just might be. The guy's legitimately improved a hell of a lot since first stepping foot in a BWF ring! How long he holds onto that Chaos Theory Title at this point is anybody's guess!
Da Bomb makes her way to the ring, still steaming, and waits for whoever her mystery opponent ends up being. Rayne and Webb discuss multiple possibilities, from former International Champion Sabrina Scott to a surprise return such as Zoe Cooper or Outlaw. Their patience was rewarded when a ringside tech hands a piece of paper to ring announcer Scott Benjamin.
Scott Benjamin: Ladies and gentlemen, introducing Da Bomb's challenger for tonight's BWF International Championship Match.......... AKEMI... HAYASHI!!!
The fans explode; Da Bomb’s mystery opponent is a return, and not at the same time. While the fans had grown accustomed to the certain tall Asian woman dressed in intimidating make up known as Dagger - and even warmed up to the cold persona - they were more than delighted when "Meta Taro" by Babymetal hit the BlazenTron and Akemi Hayashi emerged to jovially greet those in the audience before zooming down to the ring.
Nick Webb: Dagger is gone... and Akemi Hayashi is back!
Rayne: I haven't seen that Crazian without her makeup in what feels like years!
Nick Webb: ....okay, I gotta ask. Crazian?
Rayne: Crazian. Crazy Asian.
Nick Webb: Oh, good lord.
Da Bomb, at this point, is less than amused over the fact that she was facing a different opponent than who she prepared for. So, the spastic offense of Akemi was met with a barrage of submission and mat wrestling.
Nick Webb: Dare I say, the glorious return of Akemi Hayashi does not seem to be starting off in a glorious fashion. In fact, it looks like Akemi’s curse may be in danger of continuing.
Rayne: Curse?
Nick Webb: It's something she's mentioned herself... or Dagger did. It's tough to keep track of all of these personalities. Anyway, anytime she ventures out of the Chaos Theory Division, it ends in heartache for Akemi's fans. In her words, of course.
Rayne: I'm sure Da Bomb is certainly hoping that curse continues tonight! HA!
Da Bomb manages to lure Akemi into her Boo! maneuver which seemed to cement her dominance. Da Bomb, logically could have found time to land a finisher and end it all. But, she wanted to vent her frustrations over this entire ordeal onto the taller woman.
Nick Webb: I'm not sure I agree with Bomb's actions here. This match might have been over, but she seems intent on punishing Akemi.
Rayne: Let the Champ have some fun! She's pissed off at management, she's in a match she didn't prepare for, if she wants to blow off some steam, more power to her! In fact, I bet she's picturing Katie's face every time she punches Akemi!
Just as her victory seems all but assured, Da Bomb’s string of domination suddenly ends with a well-timed snapmare from Akemi, immediately followed by the Sliding D. The "spaztastic" pixy mod suddenly flips a switch, flying into full swing - an apt name seeing as Akemi flitted about the ring like a violent little pinball. Da Bomb still has very little tolerance of Kemi’s nonsense, finding herself able to artfully dodge and counter one of her big moves. Finally content with finishing this match, Da Bomb tosses Akemi into the ropes... but the Champion gets floored by Akemi's SQUIRT!! (Jumping Yakuza Kick) finishing maneuver! She quickly covers as the Chicago crowd counts along... 1... 2... 3!!!
WINNER AND NEW BWF INTERNATIONAL CHAMPION: Akemi Hayashi, via Pinfall (8:58)
Babymetal's "Meta Taro" kicks up in the stadium once more as Akemi exits the ring and scoops up her new International Championship. She hops the barricade and motions to ringside, where a tech tosses her a few bottles of Dean's Chocolate Milk Chug, Stone Cold style. She pops them open and douses herself (and the fans in the vicinity) with the chocolate milk, all while hugging the title.
Nick Webb: What a return for Akemi Hayashi! She just ended Da Bomb's record-setting reign as BWF International Champion, and broke her "Chaos Theory" curse in one fell swoop!
Rayne: I just hope she keeps the chocolate milk shower over there. That stuff smells SO BAD when you have a flight home!
Savior/Saboteur
After the collapse of alliances and friendships falling into a further downward spiral, the Sovereign Championship Match was a refreshing break. Quite simply, it was a competitive showing between two longtime friends who have wandered into the brother territory. While there was a back and forth theme of one-upmanship, there was no sign of animosity between them. Allen kept the pace with his power game, while Spike kept it going with his fast paced offense. While each one got their licks in, neither of them really seemed to gain the upper hand for any notable measure of time.
Nick Webb: These two really know each other so well. They've traveled the world together, they've lived together as far as I know, and it really shows.
Things remained dead even, which means that one of the competitors was going to have to surprise the other... a surprise that came when Allen went off script with a hurricanrana! It was enough to startle the Champion. A Bionic Elbow struck the Champion down again. Spyke was tossed about, until he took a page out of Allen’s book and forearmed him right across the face. Forearms came from both competitors, up until they beat each other ragged.
Nick Webb: These two are beating each other senseless! That's what this Championship means to these two gentlemen!
Rayne: And yet, they're loving every second of this! Look at the smiles on their deranged faces!
Indeed, both men had a big smile on their face after each forearm. It got to the point where each man became staggered from the forearms. Allen finally won the exchange and planted Spyke with THE PUNCHLINE (Package Piledriver).
Nick Webb: The Punchline! New Champion! He just has to cover!
Rayne: I don't think Allen's got that in mind... I think he wants to put Spyke away definitively!
In the ring, Allen refuses to go for the pin, and instead, went to end it with the WTFFFF! [Watch that Funny Fat Fuck Fly!] (Moonsault). He soars off the top rope... but at the last possible second, Spyke manages to roll away! Both men roll to their feet as fast as they can, but Spyke reaches his footing first, and flings himself forward almost on pure adrenaline, catching Chaney with the 360 No-Scope! as he rose! The Champion covers... 1... 2... 3! Spyke retains!
WINNER AND STILL BWF SOVEREIGN CHAMPION: Spyke Gein, via Pinfall (14:29)
"Spark Mandrill Remix" by Smooth McGroove starts playing over the BlazenTron as Spyke rolls to his feet and, realizing he won, grins widely. He is handed his Sovereign Title and celebrates in the corner. When he hops down, Allen is back to his feet and is waiting in the center of the ring. But with these two, there's no "dramatic pause, will he be friend or foe" moment, as Allen immediately shakes Spyke's hand before pulling him into a bro hug. Allen lifts Spyke's hand in victory as the Chicago crowd cheers loudly.
Nick Webb: That's true sportsmanship. Moments like this are what this sport is all about.
Rayne: Aww, I wanted to see someone bleed. YOU PANSIES!
Nick Webb: Oh, please call Allen Chaney a pansy to his face. Pretty please. And let me record it.
Rayne: ...I'm... I'm good, thanks.
Coming Soon on the BWF Network
~ Live from the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota ~
October 31, 2016 - Only on the BWF Network
As the main event gets underway, featuring a surprising (if not entirely unlikely) challenger against the dominant Champion, Fenryr Wulfsson addresses every one of the perils of challenging him after already competing in a large battle royal. Whether impressed or annoyed with Young's accomplishment, Fenryr made sure to iterate - and reiterate - with every targeted move and attack against the young woman just how big of a mistake she had made by coming up victorious in tonight's opening contest.
Nick Webb: The Champion looking as dominant as ever in the early goings of this match.
Rayne: I said it earlier, I don't think F.M. realized the danger she was putting herself in by earning this match. I don't see anybody beating Fenryr with the roll he's on currently.
Indeed, the powerhouse battered Young and tossed her about, from one end of the ring to the other, without giving the challenger so much as a chance to breathe. His goal, it seemed, was to make it appear that Young never had a chance against him, and he was accomplishing that well, even as the Chicago crowd watched on, nearly silent out of concern. After absorbing several minutes of punishment, Young finally breaks away from Fenryr's grip and starts to fight back with some big hits, bringing the crowd back to life and even staggering the Champion more than once!
Nick Webb: Don't count the One Woman Army out yet, Rayne! This place just lit up like Rockefeller Center at Christmastime!
Unfortunately for Young's fans, her burst of offense was all too brief, and Fenryr authoritatively shut her down before she would really get anything together, now seemingly incensed by her attempts at besting him more than anything else. After striking Young particularly hard and stunning the challenger, he calls for the Hel Road (Double Underhook Powerbomb)!
Rayne: Someone wake up the timekeeper... this one's about to be in the books!
Fenryr lifts Young up to hit the move, but she blocks it with her foot! Fenryr tries again, but Young once again blocks it! Infuriated, Fenryr pulls Young up as hard as he can, but in his anger, he overcranks the move and Young is able to spin her body, wrap her legs around Fenryr's head and hit him with a headscissors into a roll-up pin! The referee drops to count... 1... 2... 3!
Rayne: WHAT!?
Nick Webb: Are you kidding me?!
If Soldier Field had a roof, it would be gone... as the referee calls for the bell and makes the announcement... F.M. Young is the new BWF World Champion!!!
WINNER AND NEW BWF WORLD CHAMPION: F.M. Young, via Pinfall (10:12)
"Move" by Thousand Foot Krutch starts playing as Fenryr angrily argues with the referee and Young, kneeling on the mat, still can't quite believe it.
Rayne: BULLSHIT!
Nick Webb: Folks, I... I'm in shock right now! F.M. Young has just upset Fenryr Wulfsson and become the new BWF World Champion! This crowd has come unglued!
A tech at ringside hands the referee the BWF World Championship, but before he can do anything, Fenryr rips it out of his hands and nails the referee between the eyes with it! Young springs to her feet, only to have Fenryr clock her between the eyes with the title belt as well!
Rayne: Ha ha ha!
Nick Webb: Come on! This is absolutely uncalled for!
Fenryr drops the title and starts punching Young wildly in the face, stunning the new Champion and busting her open. The boos get louder as the new Tag Team Champions, Karli Frost and Eric Ingvar, show up and begin a three-on-one assault of the new Champ.
Nick Webb: Can we get someone down here! This disgusts me!
Fenryr motions for Karli and Eric to pick the motionless Young up, then lifts her up and hits the Hel Road with both Karli and Eric assisting. At ringside, Rune Sigidottir is still irate over Fenryr losing the title, but seems pleased at this turn of events at the very least. Having seen enough, she finally whistles, signaling for the dogs to call off their hunt. Fenryr, Karli and Eric exit the ring, all still glaring at F.M. Young as the crowd boos loudly.
Rayne: That was awesome.
Nick Webb: Awesome? What are you talking about? That was deplor... oh no. NO! Not him! Not now!
The boos get so much louder when "Heavy" by Collective Soul hits the BlazenTron and Kurt Hullum charges out from the back, Money in the Bank briefcase in hand and referee in tow. Hullum reaches the ring and stops, eyeing Ragnarok for a moment, perhaps re-thinking his plan. To his surprise, Fenryr motions that the ring is his and, as Kurt and the referee slide into the ring, Ragnarok heads back up the ramp.
Rayne: The former Champion just gave his blessing to the new Champion. Forget Gein and Chaney, THAT is sportsmanship right there.
Nick Webb: Oh my God. Do you... I mean, really?
With Young still not moving, Hullum hands the briefcase off to the referee, who hands it off to the timekeeper. The timekeeper talks to Scott Benjamin, who nods.
Scott Benjamin: Ladies and gentlemen, Kurt Hullum is cashing in his Money in the Bank Briefcase! The following contest is scheduled for ONE fall... and it is for the BWF World Championship!!!
Kurt yells at Benjamin to hurry, even as Young begins to stir in the center of the ring. The referee finally calls for the bell...
...and Hullum slides into the cover! 1... 2... 3-NO! At the last second, Young kicks out and Soldier Field EXPLODES!
Nick Webb: ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! F.M. YOUNG WILL NOT GO GENTLY INTO THAT GOOD NIGHT!
Rayne: HOW?!
Irate, Hullum picks Young up, but Young starts fighting back, wildly throwing haymakers in every direction! Hullum, the fresh man, dodges these punches with relative ease and runs at Young, catching her with the Kurtain Kall (Hangman's Facebuster)! Hullum covers again... 1... 2... 3! We have ANOTHER new BWF World Champion!
WINNER AND NEW BWF WORLD CHAMPION: Kurt Hullum, via Pinfall (0:42)
"Heavy" by Collective Soul starts playing over the BlazenTron as the fans elation turns to disappointment. The boos start to rain down on Hullum as Kurt is handed the BWF World Championship and drops to his knees, celebrating like he just won it in an hour-long Ironman Match.
Rayne: And just like that, everything is right in the world.
Nick Webb: I feel so terrible for F.M. Young right now. How awful to have your girlhood dream come true, just to have it ripped away from you seconds later.
Rayne: She should be honored, Nick! She got to be a part of history... the WORLD OF KURT JUST TOOK OVER THE WHOLE GALAXY, BABY!
Nick Webb: Wow.
Rayne: Well, my partner is at a loss for words, so I'll say it... thank you all for being with us tonight as history was made! For Nick Webb, I'm Rayne... we'll see you all very soon! Good night from Heatwave 2! Ha ha ha!
We see one final shot of the now former Mr. Money in the Bank, Kurt Hullum, celebrating with the BWF World Championship, before the live feed fades to the BWF logo, and then finally to black.
