Episode 146 - May 6, 2013
Nick Webb: Welcome everybody to Monday Night Havok! We are just one week removed from Danger Zone, and we return to Havok with the first new BWF World Champion since August of 2011!
Rayne: AJ Adams survived Hellbound just one week ago, and by doing so, he claimed the richest prize in our company. But now, he's got one hell of a target on his back, and tonight, we're going to find out who takes the first shot at that target, as Zachariah Boone and Kyle Cross do battle to determine the next #1 Contender to Adam's title!
Scott Benjamin: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the NEW BWF World Champion... AJ ADAMS!!!
The majority of the fans in attendance begin to boo as “Lights Out” by P.O.D. begins to play over the BlazenTron. Out steps AJ Adams with the BWF World Championship around his waist. He puts his arms out to the side and lets his head fall back as if he’s basking in the sun. He pumps his arm and starts to head down the ramp.
Nick Webb: Love him or hate him, AJ Adams was able to defeat 4 others to claim that championship.
Rayne: Clearly a lot of these fans here tonight are simply not that, fans. Adams hasn’t been shy about letting people know that he doesn’t need anyone else but himself.
Nick Webb: Whatever his tactics, they worked.
Adams jumps to the apron and climbs into the ring and takes the title off and raises it to the crowd. He’s handed a microphone as he puts the belt over his shoulder.
AJ Adams: When I stood in this ring last week there wasn’t a single person that had me pegged as the next World Champion. No one believed in me or my abilities to walk out of the structure that beat me a year ago. Here I stand as YOUR BWF World Champion.
Adams grins and adjusts the strap as a few boos come his way.
AJ Adams: I’ve put my name in those history books and I’ll forever be spoke in the BWF lore. I rose to the top and now I have something else to fight for; respect. Now that I’ve claimed this championship you will all respect me.
Adams’ voice begins to sound harsh as he points around the arena.
AJ Adams: Every single one of you will show me the respect that I deserve as your champion. Not because of some inflated ego, not because it makes me feel better about myself but because I deserve it. I started from the bottom as a nobody 42 months ago no one knew who I was and now I’m a two-time World Champion.
AJ Adams: I will fight everyone that comes along and I will defeat them. I don’t care if it’s Flynn, Kyle Cross, or even Boone again. You earn the right to compete against me and I won’t back down. There’s no backstage politics, there’s no under the table deals with Blazenwing. This is my BWF, this is a new era. I will be the greatest BWF World Champion that this company has ever seen. Welcome to the new age.
Adams drops the microphone and holds the title high as the screen fades to a promo for this Sunday's new Game of Thrones, only on HBO!
The bell sounds and we’re underway. Tyler and Gary are starting out, and right out of the gate, Chandler makes a mistake in charging at Gary who is able to sidestep him and bring him straight down onto his knee, the back of Tyler’s head making contact. Gary follows up with a snap suplex, slamming Tyler hard into the mat. Maverick is quick to his feet and keeps the pain going with a snap DDT. Elena watches on from the corner as Gary backs Tyler into his corner, tagging in the new BWF Sovereign champion. Elena comes in as Gary leaves and drives her shoulder into Tyler’s abdomen. Elena goes to send Tyler across the ring, but Chandler reverses and sends Elena into his own corner, running in after her, he leaps in the air for a splash, but Elena is able to roll out of the way as Chandler collides with the turnbuckle. Airica tags herself in and gets in the ring.
Rayne: Tyler just couldn’t get anything going in that exchange, but I’m sure Airica will be able to get in some offense.
Nick Webb: What makes you say that?
Rayne: Because she’s hot!
Nick Webb: Oh, will you be serious?
Elena goes in on Airica, but receives a quick thumb to her eye.
Rayne: Told you!
Elena backs up shielding her eyes as she’s doubled over with a knee lift. Airica goes for a scoop slam, but Elena is able to squirm her way down her back and grab her chin in the process, landing in a seated reverse face-buster. Elena goes over and tags back in Gary who hops the top rope, allowing Airica to tag back in Tyler as well. Tyler comes in and goes for a hard clothesline, but Gary ducks down on his knee and when Tyler turns around, he gets two open palms right in the stomach!
Nick Webb: There’s the Kamehameha!
Tyler doubles over from the blow and Gary drags him down to the mat, locking in his Lasso of Truth (Crossface). Tyler tries to get to the ropes, but before too long he has no choice but to tap out.
WINNERS: Gary Maverick & Elena Simonova, via Submission
Normally, this would be the point where Gary or Elena's music plays in victory, but instead, "She's a Rebel" by Green Day hits and the crowd jumps to their feet. The ever popular BWF Owner, Emily Corlen, walks onto the stage, a playful smirk on her face, as she lifts the microphone to her lips and the music fades.
Emily Corlen: Would you guys believe that some people online are calling me a bitch because of the situation I put Mr. Chandler into at Danger Zone? Apparently, it wasn't very "good guy" of me.
Emily shrugs.
Emily Corlen: Funny, I don't recall the Queen of Professional Wrestling being a "good guy"... do you?
The crowd cheers.
Emily Corlen: I love you guys, too. Now, onto business. And trust me... this isn't going to be very "good guy" of me, either. But damn if it won't be fun.
In the ring, Gary and Elena have pulled Tyler Chandler and Airica Linn to their feet and are holding them in place.
Emily Corlen: Tyler Chandler. Airica Linn. For one month, I have watched you waste my time and everybody else's with your antics. You have yet to shoot a single promo for any match you've been in. You've blown off scheduled appearances to hang out at the beach together; by the by, don't call in sick, then post photos of yourselves partying on Twitter WHEN THE BOSS FOLLOWS YOUR ACCOUNTS. Idiots.
Emily shakes her head.
Emily Corlen: Now, wasting my time? It's whatever. I'm a big girl - I'll get over it. But wasting the time and money of these good fans? That's where I draw the line. It's over, for both of you. Tyler Chandler? Airica Linn?
Emily pauses, grinning mischievously as the fans wait with bated breath.
Emily Corlen: ...YOU'RE FIRED!
The crowd pops as Gary and Elena toss Tyler and Airica out of the ring. The crowd starts a "Na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye" chant, but that chant is quickly extinguished as a hooded man slinks into the ring through the crowd and ambushes Elena from behind! The crowd quickly starts booing as the man removes his hood, just like a few weeks ago, to reveal Godless.
Rayne: That's McLoughlin!
Nick Webb: Oh, come on!
Gary moves to protect Elena out of instinct and a sense of what's right, but Godless ducks his attempted clothesline and puts him down with a DDT. He then picks Elena up before hitting her with The Purge (Omega Driver). As the crowd boos louder, he leans down and picks up Elena's Sovereign Title before holding it in the air and pointing at Emily, still standing on the stage.
Nick Webb: I think Godless is cashing in his shot on Elena Simonova's Sovereign Title!
Emily nods on stage.
Emily Corlen: So be it, Mr. McLoughlin. On the Havok after Happenstance, June 3, you will receive your shot against Elena. Next week, though? You're going to be in the Happenstance Tournament. Against a brand new animal.
Godless tilts his head, questioning Emily's words. Before he can react, Derrick Daze slides in the ring behind him and catches him in the back of the head with The Fall (Running Crane Kick)! Daze looks over at Elena and Gary, shaking his head, before looking down at Godless and smirking.
Nick Webb: I really can't help but feel like this whole situation has gotten a bit out of hand. Someone needs to keep these guys in check!
Rayne: Where's the ratings in that? HA!
Country Roads, Take Me Home...
We open up backstage with the Kamikaze Redneck (and hometown hero) Zachariah Boone preparing for his match, his redneck girlfriend Annabelle Jennings, and his trainer wXw Legend Chris Radical can be seen, Boone can be seen sitting on an old rusted steel chair that can be seen having been used due to blood being stained across the back of it. The crowd cheers loudly for Nashville's own.
Chris Radical: Zachariah you were so close in achieving the Blazenwing Wrestling Federation Heavy Weight Championship title, and now you get a second chance at redeeming yourself.
Zachariah Boone: Chris ye think I hadn' known that already, sometimes I wonder bout ye at times.
Annabelle Jennings: Chris trust meh Boone knows it, on top of that he also knows it may be his last chance at getting another go at Adams!
Chris Radical: That I don't agree with Belle, I mean yes both have been at each other's throats these past couple of weeks, but it's now gone to a new level...
Radical Says before being cut off by Boone.
Zachariah Boone: A new level eh?
Chris Radical: Yes Boone a new level, and well you better bring your A-Game as we both know one thing and that one thing is Kyle Cross won't be taking an easy on you at all!
Zachariah Boone: Trust meh I know, an' just like him I won' be takin' an easy on him either, now if ye excuse meh Chris I gotta prepare for mah match that's comin' up!!!
Zachariah says as he begins taping his hands and wrist up, as we fade to the ring.
The bell sounds and AJ and Spectre immediately lock up, Adams ducking behind Spectre and pushing him quickly up against the ropes, looking for a quick roll up, but Spectre hooks his arms on the top rope, Adams rolls off him and to his feet. Spectre turns around and takes a step towards the BWF World Champion and takes a foot to the head as a reward. The stiff kick drops Spectre almost immediately and Adams goes for the cover for a two count. Adams lifts him up only to drop him straight back down with a back breaker. A suplex and a sidewalk slam later and Adams was in complete control. Looking to put Spectre away here, Adams makes it to the top rope, looking down at his opponent, AJ looks for the Truly Awesome (Shooting Star Press) but Lesnar’s himself as Spectre is able to roll out of the way.
Nick Webb: Did you see how AJ landed? He could have seriously hurt himself there, why would he do that?
Rayne: You wouldn’t understand Nick, with the lights on bright and the crowd feeding you energy, you think you can do no wrong in that ring. That time, well, he was wrong.
Spectre is back up to his feet first, hammering Adams with a few lefts and rights, backing him up into the ropes, sending him off the ropes, catching him on the return with a powerslam, leading right into a cover for a two count. Spectre, not to be deterred, lifts AJ up to his feet, catching him with a back elbow before going for a hard clothesline, however the World Champion is able to duck and lift Spectre up on his shoulders before propelling him forward with the GTS! Spectre’s face collides with Adams’ knee and he falls down on the mat. Rather than go for the cover, Adams mounts the prone Spectre and hooks his head, locking him in the Lights Out (Tazzmission). Spectre is trapped and has no alternative but to tap out.
WINNER: AJ Adams, via Submission
After the match, "Lights Out" by P.O.D. plays as Adams rolls out of the ring and grabs his BWF World Title. He walks backwards up the ramp, holding the title up, loudly proclaiming "ANYWHERE, ANYTIME, ANYONE!" as he reaches the stage.
Nick Webb: AJ Adams is on a roll here in BWF, and his momentum doesn't look like it's stopping anytime soon!
Rayne: Someone's gonna have the chance to try, though, and we're gonna find out who that someone is later tonight!
Coming Soon on Pay-Per-View
Toco and Godless are locking eyes when Spykeman! comes running out to the ring to interrupt their stare down and start the triple threat. Spykeman! slides in the ring and immediately goes after Godless, tackling him down to the mat as the bell sounds to start the match. Spykeman! is hammering lefts and rights as Godless covers up. Toco elects to chill in the corner, enjoying the beatdown until Godless is able to push Spykeman! off. To his feet, Godless catches Spykeman! coming in with a reverse elbow and grabs him by the back of the head, tossing him straight over the top ropes. This is when Toco decides it’s a good time to strike, catching Godless from behind with a clubbing blow. Toco lifts Godless up and slams him down in the mat with a belly to belly suplex, crushing his ribs slightly underneath.
Nick Webb: Crushing move there by Toco!
Rayne: When a man that size lands on you Nick, you feel it the next morning.
Nick Webb: You know this from experience?
Rayne: No! ...shut up!
Toco sends Godless into the ropes, looking for a back body drop on the return but Godless catches him with a hard kick to the chest, sending Toco straight up and in prime position for a beautiful dropkick, landing right on Toco’s chin and knocking him on his back. It’s at this time that Spykeman! slides back into the ring and runs at Godless for a clothesline, but the mad man is able to duck out of the way and wrap his arms around Spykeman!’s arms, hitting him with his Sitout Full-Nelson Atomic Drop! As Flynn is getting back up, he’s spun around by Toco and driven straight into the mat with the To-Cutter (Diamond Cutter)! Godless hits the mat and rolls under the ropes, leaving Toco and Spykeman! Getting back to his feet, Spykeman is hooked from behind and hit with the original move, Toco’s The Fat Drop (Bubba Bomb)! Toco goes for the cover on Spykeman! and Godless is unable to break up the pin as Toco gets the three!
WINNER: Toco, via Pinfall
“The Red” by Chevelle hits the BlazenTron as Toco rolls out of the ring, raising his arms in the air. Godless slams the mat in anger, shaking his head and glaring as the BWF Hall of Famer makes his way up the ramp.
Nick Webb: Did the kick Flynn suffered from Derrick Daze earlier tonight impede his ability to win this match?
Rayne: Considering he lost, I would say that is a definite possibility.
Nick Webb: I'm not sure I'd want to be Derrick Daze next week.
Rayne: At this rate, I'm tempted to say the same for Godless!
Hitting the Wall
The camera pans backstage in the Bridgestone Arena to reveal a petite blonde sitting atop one of the production crates emblazoned with the BWF logo. Smirking, she lifts a microphone to her lips and then pauses for a second, actually biting her lip as though she's forgotten what she was going to say.
Nessa Wall: You know, it occurs to me that the standard fare that I usually trot out for the mouth-breathing troglodytes in a few other places isn't really necessary here, is it? Of course not, because this, my friends...
She looks from side to side, that cheeky smirk reappearing.
Nessa Wall: This is the kind of place where a strong woman with a brain in her head can really shine. Oh no, it's true. I made sure that there were no dildo on a pole matches in the history of this organization although it really helped that Kyle Cross has slithered into your midst since I feel like I owe him a little piece of my mind.
She smiles sweetly, gently tapping a finger as though touching the screen although she seems to be looking right through the camera at whomever she's addressing.
Nessa Wall: Oh, you're so cute when you're impatient! All in good time, sweetheart. I promise. Since I decided to come here personally to deliver my signed contract to Miss Corlen herself, I asked for a moment of your time for a little introduction. So here it is: my name is Nessa Wall. No, that is not short for Vanessa. The name comes from Tolkien, actually— my father was a bit of a Middle-Earth fanatic.
She shrugs.
Nessa Wall: Looks like I've come here just at the right time too, since Elena Simonova could certainly use some company on this roster that's better than that pretentiously named blonde bimbo who can't win a match if her life depended on it. Oh wait...
She cocks her head as though remembering something.
Nessa Wall: My bad. It's been at least thirty seconds so I'd just about forgotten how that pathetic little wretch got herself fired for sucking. Such a memorable moment and all.
She waves a hand, rolling her eyes.
Nessa Wall: Well you know what they say: nature abhors a vacuum. Not that the minuscule void she left on the bottom rung is really going to be large enough to hold someone of my caliber but we'll make do with what we've got now that the trash has been taken out—
Airica Linn: Excuse me?
Nessa turns her head to see the disgraced and future endeavored Airica Linn standing there with her hands on her hips.
Nessa Wall: Afraid I can't, honey. Your behavior out there's a bit of an embarrassment for any woman in this business who wants to call herself a professional, let alone a professional WRESTLER. Maybe you should head back to whatever pole dance parlor you crawled out of and leave the—
Airica lets out a little squeal of frustration and launches herself at Nessa, managing to get a slap in before Nessa grabs the back of her head and smashes Airica's face off the edge of the crate. Grinning, she turns back to the camera just as security moves past to tackle Miss Linn as she gets up, dragging her out of the building. Pressing her palm to her lips, Nessa blows a kiss towards the camera.
Nessa Wall: Kissy, kissy, BWF. Consider yourselves warned: I'm here and unlike some other blondes who shall remain nameless, I'm headed straight for the top.
The bell rings and the main event of the evening begins with both Zachariah Boone and Kyle Cross determined to leave the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville as the new #1 Contender to AJ Adams' BWF World Championship. Boone tries to take control early on, but Cross, the veteran, refuses to let up command of the match, keeping Boone at bay for several minutes and picking up a handful of nearfalls.
Nick Webb: Zachariah Boone can't seem to get out of the proverbial gate here, Rayne.
Rayne: He's got guts and determination, but Kyle Cross has years of experience on him. Without a cheap shot to help him tonight, Boone has a hell of a task ahead of him if he wants to make it to AJ at Happenstance.
With the match securely in hand, Kyle heads up to the top rope and goes for The Spirit Of '77 (Flying Fameasser), but Boone catches him and nails him with a sit-down powerbomb that rattles the ring! He goes for the cover, but only gets two. The crowd is torn down the middle between both their hometown hero and the international superstar, but things start to tip in Boone's favor as he finally gains control of the contest, netting a few more close calls. He even nearly makes Cross submit after locking on his Nashville Shores (STO into an Anaconda Vice), but they're close enough to the ropes for Cross to break the hold by getting his leg on the bottom rope, eliciting a combo of cheers and boos.
Nick Webb: This crowd doesn't know WHO to cheer for!
Rayne: Considering they booed our World Champion? I agree wholeheartedly.
The match continues, both men trading nearfalls, the crowd reaching a fevered pitch, until Boone misses a running mule kick and cracks the referee across the skull! Boone looks down at the ref, concerned, only to be caught by The Crossfire Driver (Vertical Sidedriver {Emerald Fuson Kai}) from Kyle Cross! He covers Boone, but there's no referee to count! As he tries to revive the ref, AJ Adams slides into the ring and catches Cross across the back of the head with the BWF World Title! The crowd boos loudly as he stalks Boone, waits for him to rise, and does the exact same thing to him. The referee finally comes to as Adams holds the title up, soaking in the jeers from the Nashville crowd, and upon seeing the carnage, has no choice but to call for the bell.
WINNER AND NEW #1 CONTENDER: No Contest
Nick Webb: I don't get it... what is AJ Adams doing?
Rayne: Stamping out the competition! Brilliant! HA!
AJ turns and motions to the stage, and almost on cue, Emily Corlen walks back out onto the stage, shaking her head.
Emily Corlen: AJ... what the hell? Why? Why would you do that? You know damn well what's going to come next. I have to -
AJ pulls a mic out of his pocket and cuts the BWF Owner off.
AJ Adams: You don't get it, do you, Blondie? Yeah, I know exactly what you're going to say next, which is exactly why I did what I did. I said earlier tonight that I will fight everyone that comes along and I - will - defeat - them. I'm not you, Corlen. I don't hide behind a refusal to defend my belt. I am the greatest BWF World Champion this company has ever and will ever have, and I intend on proving it every single night. So, go ahead. Make this match a Triple Threat for Happenstance. I'm begging you. Just be prepared with a Plan B when I shut down Zach Boone and Kyle Cross in three weeks. And don't think that I -
Suddenly, Adams gets cut off as Kyle Cross spins him around and hits the Crossfire Driver on the Champion! He looks over at Boone, who has just gotten up to his feet, and takes a step back, motioning to Adams. Boone nods before picking the Champion up and hitting his own Southern Born (Double Pumphandle Wheelbarrow Driver) to a huge pop from the Nashville crowd! He reaches down to pick up Adams' BWF World Title, but stops as he notices Cross is doing the same, leaving both man holding one side of the title as they stand over AJ Adams.
Emily Corlen: You heard the man, gentlemen. The main event of Happenstance will be a Triple Threat Match for the BWF World Championship. AJ Adams defends the title against Kyle Cross and Zachariah Boone. Best of luck to all of you. Oh, and AJ?
The camera zooms in on AJ's face for a moment, still knocked out in the ring, before cutting back to Emily on the stage.
Emily Corlen: Be prepared, sweetie.
Emily grins as she heads back through the curtain, leaving Cross and Boone to continue staring each other down as they each grip the BWF World Title.
Nick Webb: Wow! Business just picked up at Happenstance!
Rayne: What is Adams thinking!?
Nick Webb: I think he wants to be a fighting Champion, Rayne. Now, we find out if he can back it up when his back's against the wall.
Rayne: Indeed. Folks, that's it for this week's show!
Nick Webb: We'll see you next week, when the Happenstance Tournament begins! The battle for the 2013 Crown starts Monday night! For Rayne, I'm Nick Webb... good night from Nashville, Tennessee!
We see one final shot of Cross and Boone staring one another down before the show fades to the BWF logo, then to black.
