Episode 227 - June 13, 2016
Nick Webb: Welcome to Monday Night Havok! We're just one show away from AXW vs. BWF: Domination on June 27, and Rayne, it's gonna be a hell of a night!
Rayne: Breakthrough was great, and hopefully, we're about to find out who's going to be representing BWF at the big pay-per-view! Let's go to our GM, Katie Shelley, who's standing by on the stage right now with a major announcement!
Team BWF, Corman's Challenger
Havok opens with BWF GM Katie Shelley on the stage, ready to address the fans in attendance. She announces that Team AXW would be announced in a few short days on AXW television, but by the end of tonight, Team BWF would be officially announced.
In addition, at AXW vs. BWF: Domination, the AXW Championship will be on the line against a BWF superstar! That superstar will be determined tonight as well, and it will be determined by the performances of tonight's competitors. So, do your best, BWF... because the boss is watching!
After both suffering singles losses last week, the BWF Tag Team Champions looked to regain some footing as a team, but an unfortunate miscommunication prevented that from happening. Both teams fought valiantly, but the turning point came when Emily needed to tag out to Meryl, and her partner instead decided to slip off the apron and try to ambush Karli on her own side's apron. The referee caught her before she could do so and, while the referee argued with Meryl to get back to her corner, Karli slipped off the apron, grabbed one of the Tag Titles and tossed it to Brianna, who clocked a rising Emily in the back of the head with it. Brianna quickly disposed of the evidence and went for the cover. Before Meryl even knew what was going on, Brianna scored the 3 and won the match for her team.
WINNERS: Brianna Park & Karli Frost, via Pinfall [12:44]
Getting a Shay in the Matter
As Katie and Luke Mathews discuss the upcoming mega-event backstage, they are both surprised by AXW's Caitlin Shay making an appearance! She asks Luke who she's going to be facing at Domination, and Luke tells her that at the moment, she's not booked. Caitlin takes offense to this, and starts going off on both Luke and Katie, before Katie finally pipes up and tells Caitlin that she can have a match... but she doesn't know who against yet. Caitlin says "make it a mystery opponent" - that it doesn’t matter WHO from BWF answers her call, because she's going to be standing triumphant at the end of the night. Caitlin walks off and Katie and Luke both chuckle and shake their heads as Havok heads to commercial.
Looking for revenge after the Brothers of Revolution dominated last week, unlikely allies arose as former Sovereign Champion Kaito Hirano teamed with former Tag Team Champions The 323 to try and combat the longest-reigning Trios Champions in history. Bro Rev held their own, showing why they were likely to be big stars in the future, but the night belonged to their opponents, who showed a surprising amount of camaraderie en route to the victory. The match ended with Kaito catching Hill in the middle of the ring with the Yoi Yume O [Sweet Dreams] (Running Knee to knelt opponent) into a modified Anaconda Vise! Perez and Torres jumped into the ring to cut off Daniels and Wilson, knocking them out of the ring. With nowhere to go, Elijah Hill finally had no choice but to tap out to Kaito Hirano.
WINNERS: Kaito Hirano & The 323, via Submission [8:32]
Former Tag Team Champions (the longest-reigning in BWF history!) clashed for the first time over a shot at Jonathan Fhenix's Xperience Title at AXW vs. BWF: Domination, but it wasn't a happy reunion between the former Justicars of Illium. Both women quickly showed that they weren't about to hold back against the other, and both subsequently scored several near falls after a series of stiff moves. Both Alison and Destiny knew each other so well, Nick Webb mused, and he wasn't wrong as the fight quickly spilled out to ringside, neither woman able to score that one big move to finish the other off. This battle of attrition culminated in Alison tackling Destiny over the barricade into the timekeeper's area, causing both women to tumble against the concrete. With neither competitor moving, the referee had no choice but to count, and although both began stirring to their feet, neither made it out of the timekeeper's area before the referee reached the count of 10 and called for the bell.
WINNER: None (Double Countout) [12:14]
Mathews' Call
There is some chaos at ringside as both Destiny and Alison come to and argue about the match ending, and over who's going to face the AXW Xperience Champion, Jonathan Fhenix, at Domination. After a few moments, Luke Mathews comes out onto the stage and says, normally, he would just tell the referee to restart the match until there is a winner. But, he was quite impressed by both women, and therefore, at Domination, BOTH Alison James and Destiny Figgins will face Jonathan Fhenix for the Xperience Championship... in a Triple Threat Match! Alison and Destiny look at each other warily as Luke heads backstage.
As the match kicked off, Elena surprised Young with a lightning-quick Reverse Psychology (C4) and went for the pin, but the red-haired Russian was shocked when Young kicked out after only a count of 1! Elena started in on the attack, hitting Young with everything she had, but Young proved resilient, managing to weather the assault as she bode her time. As Elena's furious assault began to lessen, Young sensed her opportunity and unleashed on the BWF Hall of Famer, attacking with big move after big move, all designed to wear the veteran down. Elena tried to fight back with a second Reverse Psychology out of nowhere, but this time, Young managed to block the attempt, and went on to hit her own Oncoming Storm (Tiger Feint Kick) moments later to leave Elena stunned and shaken. With Simonova on the ropes, Young sprang into action, catching her opponent with the Good Night Kiss (Rolling Hurricanrana) into a pin to score the 1, 2, 3 and, perhaps, the biggest win of Young's career so far!
WINNER: F.M. Young, via Pinfall [14:09]
Coming Soon to Pay-Per-View
Unlikely teammates must be the theme of the show tonight, after the earlier six-man tag, and now, with the BWF World Champion and Mr. Money in the Bank teaming with two other former World Champions who, until now, were not associated with one another. In the early goings, both teams operated about as well one would expect, with bickering between both teams and a sense that each team member wanted to overshadow the other, at least a little bit; though with a shot at Steve Corman's AXW Title hanging in the balance, it's not hard to see why. Fenryr, dominant since winning the BWF World Title, slowly built up the momentum for his team, keeping both Allen and Figgins at bay with a series of nasty attacks. The tide shifted, though, when Fenryr went to tag out to Kurt... and the Money in the Bank briefcase holder dropped off the apron, grinning at Fenryr!
As Fenryr yelled at his partner, Kurt walked around to the timekeeper, grabbed his briefcase, and just stood, watching the proceedings, as if to threaten a cash-in at this very moment! With Fenryr seething, Allen and Figgins saw their opportunity and joined forces together long enough to get the job done, chipping away at the Champion's defenses even as Kurt watched from ringside with a twinkle in his eyes. After hitting Ad Noctum (The Maguillicutty) on Fenryr, Figgins goes for the pin - but is stopped when Allen reaches out and tags himself in! As Figgins shakes his head, Allen heads up to the top rope (on the other side of the ring) and soars off with the WTFFFF! [Watch that Funny Fat Fuck Fly!] (Moonsault), scoring the 1, 2, 3 on the BWF World Champion!
WINNERS: Allen Chaney & Jacob Figgins, via Pinfall [17:19]
Decisions to be Made
As Allen and Figgins are celebrating their win, Katie Shelley makes her way back out to the stage, ready to make her announcements regarding Team BWF and the challenger to Steve Corman's AXW Championship.
First, Corman's challenger. She watched all night, Breakthrough and Havok, but one person's performance stood out amongst all others - the man who just pinned the BWF World Champion, Allen Chaney. On June 27 at AXW vs. BWF: Domination, Allen will have the opportunity to defeat Steve Corman and bring the AXW Championship to the Blazenwing Wrestling Federation.
As for the team that will face the yet-to-be-announced Team AXW in the show's main event... Katie revealed with glee that Team BWF will consist of Sabrina Scott, Kurt Hullum, Brianna Park, F.M. Young & Kaito Hirano! Katie quickly tells Kurt that if he tries to pull what he did to Fenryr tonight at Domination, he will be stripped of his Money in the Bank Briefcase. Kurt doesn't seem to relish this thought and merely nods; with so much going on, his hopes of cashing in the briefcase tonight appear to have been dashed.
In the ring, Figgins seems a little confused that he's the only person who didn't get picked for something. Katie notices, and tells him that he was originally set to be on Team BWF, but a last-minute challenge came in specifically for him. As Figgins raised an eyebrow, he gets blindsided from behind... by former AXW Women's Champion Olya Oglovska! She locks Figgins up in an Inverted Sharpshooter for several moments, until Allen Chaney returns to the ring and chases her off. Olya grabs a mic and tells Figgins that, at AXW vs. BWF: Domination, she will personally help restore beauty to the BWF by getting rid of this "tattooed monstrosity"... and to do so, she will be meeting him in a Submission Match! Olya exits through the stunned Chicago crowd as Allen helps Figgins up and Havok comes to a close.
