Hirano jumped to his feet and was visibly angry after losing once again.
Rayne: Kaito has been on the opposite end of winning more than once or twice lately and I think it’s starting to get to him.
Nick Webb: Knowing what we know about Kaito, I’m sure the past four or five months have been quite bad. He went from being on top of the world as Sovereign Champion in August, to, now, consistently feeling frustrated with losing matches he feels he should win.
Hirano kicked over the steel steps on his way out of the ring and to the backstage area.

Lend an Ear
We’re backstage and Kaito Hirano’s frustration had subsided and he sat cross legged on the floor in one of the hallways of the arena. He was looking down into his lap with a towel over his head. A young woman was walking the hallways and getting greetings from many before she passed by Hirano. She stopped and turned back around and plopped down beside him with a big grin.
Woman: Hi, Kaito!
Hirano doesn’t move as she starts to move her head so she can try and see his face.
Rayne: Wait. Is that Stryker Cloud’s daughter?
Nick Webb: It is! That’s Mio Sakai. Stryker is usually backstage at BWF events and she must have tagged along this time. It wouldn’t be the first time she’s visited backstage.
She lifts his towel off his head slightly and he finally looks up.
Mio Sakai: You don’t seem too happy, Kaito. Is it because of your match?
Kaito Hirano: Hai. I have seemed to lost something.
He tilts her head and shakes it.
Mio Sakai: It’s all in your head. The more you begin to doubt yourself the lower you’re going to fall. You’ve got the yips! You start to take control of the match but then you think about your losses and you end up losing the moment. You just need to lose yourself in the match and you’ll find yourself winning once again. Next time you’re out there just remember that and you’ll be good to go!
She gives him a big smile and nods her head at him. He doesn’t say a word as she stands and gives him a small bow.
Mio Sakai: Well, I must run. Goodbye, Kaito-san! Maybe I’ll see you later!
Mio runs off down the hall as we fade away.
