Nick Webb: Welcome everyone to Hearts on Fire! It was a year ago at the 2015 Hearts on Fire event that AJ Adams nearly had his career ended at the hands of Allen Chaney and since that night he’s been almost unstoppable as he’s been BWF World Champion for 199 days. He is now the holder of the longest single reign and the most total days as champion as BWF World Champion.
Rayne: 200 here he comes! AJ Adams will walk through Sabrina Scott tonight as he shows that he made the right choice in “picking himself” as Sabrina put it.
Nick Webb: I don’t know if I agree there, Rayne. Sabrina has been on a journey and this may very well be her time. She’s had a sensational career here so far in the BWF and the fact that she’s getting her first World Championship opportunity against her ex is straight out of a movie. I think we’re looking at a new champion tonight.
Rayne: No way.
Nick Webb: That being said let’s get into the rest of the show tonight. All the championships are on the line and everyone will be looking to take after Da Bomb and retain.
The show kicked off with F.M. Young coming to the ring with cheers. Mathews hit the ring and the match got started. The two grappled and Mathews quickly sent Young into a corner. She caught him with a forearm smash as he charged. She jumped to the second ropes and came flying off with a second rope bulldog. Both climbed to their feet and Young got the first hit in with a hard right hand. Mathews returned with a series of lefts and rights of his own and pulled her into position before delivering a double underhook backbreaker. He went right into a cover but barely got two as she kicked out. Da Bomb made her way out to the entrance ramp to watch the match as Mathews pulled Young up. Young hit Mathews with a short-arm clothesline as she was pulled up and took him to the mat with a jumping cutter. Young noticed Da Bomb on the ramp watching and took a few moments to watch her. Mathews got to his feet and grappled with Young and sent her into the ropes. Mathews connected with a powerslam on the return and quickly pulled her up again. He lifted her onto his shoulders and delivered Heaven’s Whisper (Wasteland). Mathews reached down and grabbed her by the throat and pulled her up. He looked for the Chokebuster (Chokeslam into Spinebuster) but she spun away in the air as she was lifted. Mathews turned and was lifted to the shoulders of Young as she hit the Boom Pow (GTS). She fell into a cover and got two as Mathews was able to kick out at the last moment. Young stood and wanted Mathews on his feet as he was slow to get up. She wanted a second Boom Pow but he didn’t get lifted as he threw his knees into the side of her head. He hit the ropes and leveled Young with the Tower of Power (Clothesline from Hell). Mathews fell on top of Young for a cover as he hooked a leg and picked up a two count before she kicked out. Mathews charged at Young as she stood and was taken down with a drop toe hold. Young looked around before hitting him with the Oncoming Storm (Tiger Feint Kick). She quickly pulled herself to the top turnbuckle and dove with the Midnight Overdrive (Shooting Star Senton) and covered, picking up the win.
WINNER AND STILL BWF SOVEREIGN CHAMPION: F.M. Young, via pinfall [13:21]
Da Bomb watched on with an amused look on her face before leaving. Mathews got to his feet as Young celebrated and the two shared a quick handshake before he left the ring.
Nick Webb: A great match to kick off the show!
Rayne: I don’t think Da Bomb was overly impressed.

Perez landed a series of lefts and rights before Damian was able to block and returned with shots to Perez. Damian hit Perez with a hard chop to the chest and then sent him into the ropes. Erwin staggered back up to his feet and was pulled into position and hit with the Ghetto Dog (Cradle DDT). Perez made the tag to Torres who climbed into the ring.
