Episode 217 - January 18, 2016
Nick Webb: Welcome to the first Havok of 2016! We kick things off with a brand new theme!
Rayne: I love it, Nick.
Nick Webb: The last time we were on air was New Year’s Eve at the biggest show of the year, WrestleFest IX, and what an event it was. We crowned new Tag Team Champions, a new Chaos Theory Champion, and a new Sovereign Champion.
Rayne: I think more importantly AJ Adams left WrestleFest with the BWF World Championship! Not only that but AJ is AJ once again. He showed that the only person that really matters is himself.
Nick Webb: We’ll hear from the champion later on tonight but first we have a few announcements that pertain to Broken Resolutions. Ryan Lewis has invoked his rematch clause and is set to take on Nessa Wall as she’ll defend the Chaos Theory Championship for the first time. Also, in exciting news, after WrestleFest we've learned that Spyke Gein will get the opportunity to take on Johnny Maverick. On top of that, it's even more personal. The two will face off in the Daemons Playground match. It's a 2 out of 3 falls, falls count anywhere match.
Rayne: It'll be the end of an era, Nick.
Fenryr Wulfsson Vs. Miguel Perez
Perez began to cut a short promo before the match about having been screwed over at WrestleFest by the Wyatts. That’s when Fenryr came out and did not look pleased. He climbed into the ring and was all business. Perez charged but ran right into a knee to the gut and was tackled to the mat. Fenryr began to unload an assault of lefts and rights onto Perez before the referee forced a break. Fenryr climbed to his feet and Perez staggered up and was quickly dropped by Fenryr’s Maul (Double Axe Handle). Fenryr stomped on Perez a few times and pulled him up to his feet. He drove another knee into Perez’s gut and lifted him into a vertical suplex and dropped him with the Oathbreaker (Vertical Suplex Piledriver). Fenryr put his knee into the chest of Perez and picked up a win.
WINNER: Fenryr Wulfsson, via pinfall 3:41
Nick Webb: Fenryr is NOT happy!
Rayne: He’s clearly still upset about what happened on New Year’s Eve.
Fighting Spirit
The camera opens on F.M. Young standing and fuming outside the Wyatts’ office door. She looks ship shape and recovered from the WrestleFest match, as she raises a hand to pound on the door with her fist. Jackson Wyatt’s voice can be heard saying to come in as she pops her head into the doorway.
F.M. Young: May I come in? I want to talk with the both of you.
Jackson Wyatt: Sure thing. What can we do for you, Ms Young?
F.M. Young: You saw that right? Or someone informed you of the situation, I would hope?
Jackson Wyatt: I assume you’re speaking of what happened to you at Aftershock. Yes, we’re aware of the situation.
F.M. Young: Good, question is what are you going to do about it? That yittering bruja attacked my girlfriend and stole my title belt! I had to sit through Karli attacking my sister and getting away with it and I won’t this time. So if you two don’t do anything, the next time I find Brianna Park. She’s going to get a one way trip back to Korea, via air mail!
Jackson Wyatt: Well this is a business build around wrestling and this is a wrestling show. You also have a fighting spirit, Ms Young, so in the interest of that we’re booking a rematch tonight. If you defend the championship against Ms Park then she’ll be forced to relinquish the championship.
F.M. seems to calm down as the Wyatt’s lay out the plan and what they’re going to do. She nods in a begrudging sort of agreement when they finish.
F.M. Young: Alright, that’s fine with me. I hope she’s ready to get punched in the mouth.
With that the “One Woman Army” turns and leaves through the door she came in, as the camera fades.
A Hiccup in the Revolution
In the backstage area we see the trio of Brothers of Revolution standing tall.
Neil Daniels: The revolution may have started at WrestleFest but it ran into a small hiccup but do not fear! The Jay-Sticars reign will soon come to an end!
Elijah Hill: We’ve talked to the Wyatts and they’ve booked a rematch for Broken Resolutions.
Darious Wilson: And resolutions won’t be the only thing broken come next Monday night. We are the Brothers of Revolution and we will become the new BWF Trios Champions.
Kaito Hirano Vs. Alexander King
The match was announced as the number one contendership to the International Championship. King and Hirano shared a few words before the match started and locked up. Kaito struck with a few hard kicks to the legs of King before whipping him across the ring. King returned with a shoulder block that dropped Hirano. Hirano rolled under King as he hit the ropes and went back at him. Hirano popped to his feet as King continued towards the rope. On the return, King was lifted and dropped with a back body drop. King bounced off the mat and then rolled to his feet. They two men locked up quickly after and King applied a headlock to Hirano. Hirano tired to push King away but was flipped to the mat with a headlock takedown. King rolled into an armbar on Hirano. Hirano was able to slip free of King and get to his feet quickly. King sat up and took a hard kick to the chest. Hirano readied himself and connected with a vicious buzzsaw kick to King’s head. Hirano dropped into a cover but only got a two count as King was able to kick out in time.
Nick Webb: That was a devastating kick by Kaito.
Rayne: I’m not sure if King knows where he is right now.
King stumbled up to his feet and around the ring. Hirano charged and jumped in the air and spiked King to the mat with a DDT. Both men climbed to their feet and King looked for a clothesline but Hirano was able to duck and drive him to the mat with a blue thunder bomb. Hirano popped back to his feet and stood beside King. Hirano looked around the arena before jumping up and came down with a standing star press. Hirano hooked a leg and looked for a cover but once again only got two. Hirano stood and and grabbed the ropes near the turnbuckle and pulled them down. King climbed up to his knees and Hirano charged, looking for the Yoi Yume O (Running knee to knelt opponent) but King dodged it and rolled Hirano up with a school boy. Hirano was able to kick out at two and seemed shocked for a brief moment as he stood. King connected with the 540 back kick on Hirano and looked for a cover but only got two once again. Both men climbed to their feet and Hirano looked for a neckbreaker but King spun away. Kick locked up with Hirano and pulled him in for a DDT but Hirano started to spin away. King grabbed Hirano from behind and looked for a backslide pin attempt and picked up a three count.
WINNER: Alexander King, via pinfall 11:49
Hirano popped up to his feet as King rushed out of the ring in celebration.
Rayne: King is on his way to take on Da Bomb while Kaito is once again on the losing end of things.
Broken Cowboy
Somewhere in the backstage area we’re shown Austin Scott sitting on a handful of crates. His hat is pulled down low as he had his feet kicked up. Don McMichael walked into frame and tapped him on the shoulder.
Don McMichael: Mind if I have a few minutes of your time, Austin?
Austin looks up at Don and lifts his hat as he swings his feet around. He plants his boots on the ground and stands up slowly.
Austin Scott: I reckon so.
Don McMichael: So far your return to BWF hasn’t been as great as you may have hoped. What’s the next step for you, Austin?
Austin gives a soft chuckle before looking at Don.
Austin Scott: I’ve been sittin’ back here wonderin’ the same exact thing. Clearly something has to change because right now I’m nothin’ more than a broken cowboy. Maybe it’s time to shake things up a little bit, Don.
Austin walks off screen before Don can respond with anything and we fade away.
Elena Simonova Vs. Martin Karloff
Phantom and Elena circled each other in the ring and locked up. Elena tried to send Phantom into the corner but it was reversed and Elena hit the turnbuckle. Phantom charged and connected with the Sine Gloria (Running big boot to cornered opponent). Elena staggered out of the corner as Phantom jumped to the top ropes. He jumped backwards as Elena turned to him and Phantom took her down with a moonsault. He climbed to his feet and looked for a jumping elbow but missed as she moved out of the way. Elena pulled Phantom to his feet and landed a few clubbing blows to his back. She lifted a knee up into his chest that brought him standing straight up. Elena connected with a European uppercut that she followed up with a jawbreaker that staggered him into the ropes. Elena clotheslined him over the top ropes and he landed on the ropes. Phantom quickly climbed back into the ring and locked up with Elena and tried to roll her up with a roll up but only got a two count.
Nick Webb: Martin Karloff tired to pull off a quick one on Elena.
Elena was able to get to her feet and drove her knee into the gut of Karloff as he stood up. She sent him into the corner and proceeded to connect with the 200 Proof (Lifting corner knee into monkey flip). Phantom landed on his feet when flipped and turned back towards Elena. She charged at him with a clothesline and dropped him to the mat. She pulled him right back to his feet and lifted him up and brought him down with a suplex. They both proceeded to climb to their feet and Phantom locked her into position for the Sine Bucca (Mandible Claw STO) but Elena kicked him in the gut twice and broke the hold. She pulled him in and delivered Reverse Psychology (C4). Elena rolled Phantom into a cover and picked up the three count victory.
WINNER: Elena Simonova, via pinfall 10:34
Elena rolled out of the ring quickly after her win and high fived a few fans at ringside before heading towards the back.
The Changing
Elena Simonova ducked behind the curtain after her match and was handed a towel. She wiped away some sweat and turned the corner and grabbed a bottle of water off the catering table. After taking a few sips she turned as Austin Scott began to approach her.
Austin Scott: Howdy, Elena.
Elena Simonova: Hey.
She downed a few more sips of water as Austin stopped and stood beside her.
Elena Simonova: Something I can do for you?
Austin Scott: Well it has been a mighty long time since we’ve talked at all.
She began to nod as she looked up at him.
Elena Simonova: Yeah, it really has been. I meant to welcome you back but I’ve been busy getting Jonathan Fhenix off my back. How have things been?
Austin Scott: I ain’t gonna lie to ya, El, they haven’t been all that great. Things were wonderful for a long time in my career and at home but the home got turned upside down. But I’m sure you already knew that.
Elena tilted her head for a moment before starting to nod as if she remembered something.
Elena Simonova: Ah, yeah.
Austin Scott: Oh, so you do remember Zoe? She never let go of her hatred for you and it tore her up inside. She lost her career and it broke her.
She chuckled a little bit and put down her bottle of water.
Elena Simonova: I warned her. Oh well. Sorry, Austin.
She patted him on the arm and went to leave but was blindsided by Austin with right hands as he knocked her into a nearby refrigerator. He grabbed Elena and slid her down the catering table as items went flying and she fell onto the floor. Emily Corlen happened to be nearby and she helped break up the fight as trainers rushed in between the two.
Nick Webb: Austin Scott has snapped!
Rayne: He said something needed to be done and it looks like he blames Elena for his recent downfalls.
We get another shot of Emily Corlen help pull Elena Simonova away from the fight as trainers held Austin Scott back.
Allen Chaney Vs. Kurt Hullum
Hullum showed off the Money in the Bank briefcase as he stood in the ring. He held it up high before finally handing it off to the outside and the bell sounded. Hullum and Chaney locked up briefly and come to blows as things get underway. Hullum caught Chaney with a forearm to the face and Chaney returned the favor with a hard bionic elbow. Chaney spun around and hit a discus forearm to the face of Hullum. Hullum connected with a few forearms to the face of Chaney and he ducked under, dropping Chaney with a neckbreaker. Hullum climbed to his feet and got into position before dropping an elbow across Chaney’s chest. Hullum rose to his feet and Chaney wasn’t too far behind him and they locked back up. Chaney looked to whip Hullum across the ring but Hullum reversed into a short-arm clothesline. Hullum pulled Chaney back to his feet and tried to connect with the Kurtain Kall (Hangman’s Facebuster) but was pushed away. Hullum turned and charged back at Chaney and Chaney lifted him up and dropped him with a pop-up powerbomb! Chaney covered but only got a two count before Hullum kicked out.
Rayne: The Money in the Bank holder not going down that easy.
Nick Webb: You have to believe that in the back of Kurt’s mind he’s plotting the right moment to cash that contract in for his title shot.
Rayne: Right now he should worry about that incoming elbow from Allen!
Chaney came flying off the second rope and drove his elbow into the gut of Hullum. Hullum rolled away and used the ropes to pull himself up. Hullum caught Chaney with a back elbow to the face but Chaney drove his knee into the gut of Hullum. Chaney followed it up with a gutwrench suplex. Chaney got back to his feet and pulled Hullum back up and applied a headlock. Hullum was able to get free and grabbed Chaney before driving him to the mat with the Crash Landing (Snapmare Driver). Hullum covered but only got two as Chaney kicked out. Both men got to their feet and began to exchange hard blows back and forth. Chaney landed a couple bionic elbows. Hullum started to look for a DDT but Chaney broke away and clotheslined both he and Hullum over the top ropes. Both men slowly got to their feet as the referee began his count. Hullum bounced Chaney’s head off the apron before Chaney speared Hullum into the announce table. Both men locked up and they rolled over top of the announce table as the referee got to the count of ten.
NO WINNER: Double Countout 12:24
Hullum and Chaney continued to exchange a few blows before the referees were able to pull the two men apart.
Rayne: I wonder if Allen is a little upset that Kurt won the Money in a Bank.
Nick Webb: I think Allen just wants a good fight.

Find a Way to Survive
The arena erupts in boos as “Lights Out” by P.O.D. begins to blast over the speakers and AJ Adams walked out onto the stage with a big grin on his face. The BWF World Championship sat on his shoulder as he made his way to the ring. He climbed up into the ring and took a microphone from Scott Benjamin. He looked around the arena as they all booed at him.
AJ Adams: 143. Say it with me, everyone. 143 days as BWF World Champion.
The fans keep booing as he just smiles.
AJ Adams: And counting! That’s the second longest BWF World Championship reign in history. You can believe what you want about me but the truth is I’m standing in this ring as the champion and there is no denying that. I’ve beaten Elena Simonova, Allen Chaney, the list goes on. Only one BWF World Champion had ever went into WrestleFest and NOT lost their championship… Until WrestleFest IX.
Adams walked around the ring for a few moments and began to speak again.
AJ Adams: The night before WrestleFest I reached out to Sabrina. I figured that I would give her one more chance to come to her senses and see that what I did for her at Gauntlet Run is something she should be thanking me for. Once again she blew me off and that’s when it happened. That’s when I decided that I was in fact better off without because I didn’t need her. In fact I realised I didn’t need anyone but myself. I didn’t need your support.-
He pointed around the arena at the fans.
AJ Adams: I didn’t need to please any of you. Or you.
AJ pointed into the camera lens.
AJ Adams: The only person I ever needed was myself. I’m the one that comes out here and puts my body on the line and does things that no one else does. I’m the one that has survived, I’m the one that’s defeated Hall of Famers, I’m the one that dominated elimination chambers. The moment that Sabrina turned her back on me is the moment I woke up and realised that not one you matter.
There are more boos from the fans.
AJ Adams: It was at that moment that I promised myself to do whatever it took to retain my championship. I was tired of being the hero. Heroes always get remembered but legends never die. At WrestleFest IX I became a legend.
AJ jumped up onto the second ropes and held up the championship.
AJ Adams: There will be many that think they should get a crack at me and none of them are worth the time. None of them have earned the right.
“Crocodile Rock” by Elton John kicked up and Adams was cut off by Jackson Wyatt making his way to the stage. He wasted little time in beginning to speak.
Jackson Wyatt: That’s an interesting phrase there, AJ. “Earn the right”. Elise and I have been racking our brain at what the main event should be for Broken Resolutions. We obviously want something special for the event and Sabrina was never pinned…-
AJ Adams: Hold up right there. Me versus Sabrina? Don’t make me laugh, Wyatt. Sabrina hasn’t done anything to earn a shot at my championship. She couldn’t even win the Run without my help. So she didn’t get pinned? Who cares? She didn’t win. Plain and simple.
Jackson grits his teeth as AJ interrupts him but allows him to speak briefly.
Jackson Wyatt: If you’d allow me to finish, AJ. Since Sabrina was not pinned at WrestleFest, and in keeping with the January tradition of survival of the sickest, Sabrina will be given a chance to earn a championship opportunity.
The fans begin to cheer as AJ shouts at Jackson.
Jackson Wyatt: Against you.
There’s a loud pop as AJ is furious in the ring.
Jackson Wyatt: It’ll be a 5-on-5 survival of the sickest elimination match as Team Sabrina meets Team AJ. You say you don’t need anyone, AJ? Let’s see if you can get a team together in time for next week. If Team Sabrina wins she’ll receive a BWF World Championship match at Hearts on Fire.
Nick Webb: That’s huge!
Rayne: In only the second Broken Resolutions ever and first since 2006, it’ll be a main event to remember.
The fans cheer as Adams watches on before we fade away.
BWF SOVEREIGN CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
Brianna Park Vs. F.M. Young (c)
Park walked to the ring with the title over her shoulder but Young jumped out of the ring and attacked her coming down the ramp. The two started to brawl near the ring before Young rolled Park into the ring and slid in after her. Park got to her feet as Young was as well and Park tackled Young back to the mat and they rolled around. Park climbed to her feet and pulled Young up before landing a few hard elbows to the head. Park followed the blows up with a hard chop across the chest of Young. Young returned the blow with a knee to the gut of Park. Park was doubled over and Young connected with a flipping neckbreaker. Young climbed to her feet and Park was soon up. Young took Park down with a hip toss and Park rolled right up to her feet. Young lifted her up and back down with a spinebuster as she drove her into the mat. Young looked for a cover and just got two as Park kicked out right at two. Park got to her feet and quickly had to duck an incoming clothesline and she proceeded to take Young down with a chop block. Park started to stomp on the knee of Young as she tried to get away.
Rayne: Park is relentless!
Young got to the ropes and the referee forced Park to break. Young climbed to her feet using the ropes. Park began to charge and she ran right into a boot to the face from Young. Young connected with a crossbody press and climbed back to her feet. Park climbed up and walked right into a clothesline. Young was fired up as Park rose back to her feet. Park was lifted onto the shoulders of Young and Young hit the Boom Pow (GTS). Young dropped to a knee and grabbed the one that Park had been working on. She went for a cover and hooked a leg on Park but only got two.
Nick Webb: That moment of hesitation gave Park the time she needed to be able to kick out.
Park began to climb to her feet and Young was up as well. Park jumped up and connected with a front dropkick on Young and she kipped up. Park grabbed the legs of Young and started to apply the Sasori-Gatame (Sharpshooter) but Young was able to pull herself to the ropes and pulled herself to the apron. Park grabbed the arm of Young and wanted to hit Seoul Food (Eat Defeat) but Young clubbed her with her free arm. Young hit a stunner and hung Park up on the ropes and she went flying to the mat. Young climbed to the top ropes and flew off with Midnight Overdrive (Shooting Star Senton) and covered for the victory.
WINNER AND STILL BWF SOVEREIGN CHAMPION: F.M. Young, via pinfall 15:31
Young rolled out of the ring and grabbed the Sovereign Championship and hugged it tight.
Rayne: Maybe she won’t misplace it this time.
Nick Webb: I have a feeling F.M. won’t let anything happen to it this time.
We get a final shot of Young heading up the ramp with her title as we fade away.
