December 31, 2015
Nick Webb: Hello everyone and welcome to WrestleFest IX! We are live here in sunny San Francisco and tonight it’s BWF’s biggest event of the year. There’s so much action on tap, Rayne.
Rayne: Where do we even start? It was 12 years ago tonight that BWF ended the year with it’s first WrestleFest event and we saw X defeat Ghost and Brian Fenris to become the new BWF Champion in a Hell in a Cell Match. And X is competing tonight! Amazing.
Nick Webb: We have the return of Nessa Wall tonight. Emily Corlen and Katie James team up to take on Gabe Shelley and Dave Slayton in a match that is sure to be a treat. There are personal rivalries at stake tonight and all of the championships are on the line. We’re even going to be treated to an EW Heavyweight Championship match here shortly.
Rayne: Violent Flyer for Hall of Fame tonight or I riot!
Nick Webb: Keep dreaming, Rayne. I can guarantee that he’s not in the 2015 class. Let’s get into tonight’s action!
The Notch was welcomed with a large cheer by the San Francisco crowd as he was introduced first and held up the EW Heavyweight Championship with pride. Billy Way was focused and was ready to go as he was announced. The match was announced as “no holds barred” and the bell sounded to get things underway. Way and Notch met in the middle of the ring and there were words exchanged between the two. Way egged Notch to throw the first punch and Notch connected with a right hand that dropped him to the mat. Notch pulled Way back up quickly and drove his knee into his gut before tossing him into the corner. Notch charged but ran into a big boot from Way. Way came out of the corner and drove Notch into the mat with a DDT and rolled him into a cover for barely two. Notch climbed to his feet and hard to duck under a running forearm and dropped Way with a backbreaker. Way grabbed at his back as Notch then dropped his knee onto the small of the back of Way. Notch pulled Way to his feet and dropped him with a belly to back suplex. Notch hit the ropes and came back with a jumping leg drop across the chest of Way. Way pulled himself to his feet and quickly ducked through the ropes and jumped to the floor. He started to walk around the ring as he tried to compose himself.
Rayne: Looks like Notch has Billy Way on the ropes here. Way needing a few moments to himself.
Nick Webb: Notch isn’t giving it to him!
Notch came flying over the top ropes with a corkscrew plancha and took out Way to a pop from the fans. Both men were down but Notch was able to get to his feet first. Way started to climb to his feet and speared Notch into the apron. Notch screamed out in pain as Way pulled him back and drove him again into the apron. Way grabbed Notch and tossed him into the steel steps as the fans began to boo. Way pulled Notch up and rolled him into the ring. Way slid in and went right into a cover and got two. Notch rolled to his knees and Way came running in with a dropkick to the chest that sent Notch rolling away and into the corner. Notch used the ropes to climb to his feet and quickly dodged a corner splash from Way. Notch hit a two handed bulldog on Way and started to jump around. He had the crowd spell out N-O-T-C-H and hit the West Sider (Worm with a legdrop). Notch pulled Way into a cover as the crowd counted along and Way kicked out at two. Way rolled to his feet and lifted a charging Notch and hit the Nutcracker (Reverse Atomic Drop) and followed it with the Simply Awesome Buster (Sitout Facebuster). Way was fired up and jumped into a cover but only got two and couldn’t believe it as the fans were cheering.
Nick Webb: The Notch is not going down easily.
Notch climbed to his feet and connected with a kick to the gut. Notch looked for the Remember the Name (Edgecution) but Way spun away. Way rolled Notch up with a school boy pin and grabbed the second rope for leverage and the referee started to count as the fans roared. The referee got to two and saw Way’s arm and stopped and kicked Way’s arm off. Way and the referee began to argue. Notch looked for a school boy roll up but Way rolled all the way through and popped to his feet and looked for the Billion Dollar Kick (Roundhouse Kick) but Notch ducked and Way hit the referee! The referee dropped and Way was spun around and hit with Remember the Name. Notch rolled Way into a cover but the referee was out cold. Wade Mason pulled a referee out to the stage and the referee rushed to the ring and made the count and Way kicked out just before three. Notch let out a sigh in disbelief and pulled Way to his feet. He set him up for the Sugar Notch (Fisherman’s DDT) and Way spun away. Way grabbed Notch and connected with The Billy Way (Swinging Reverse STO). Way pulled Notch into a cover and Notch kicked out at the last moment.
Nick Webb: What a way to kick off WrestleFest!
Rayne: Billy Way is pissed!
Way stood and grabbed the referee by his shirt and pushed him down to the mat.
Rayne: But there’s no disqualifications!
Notch rolled Way up in a small package after spinning him around and the second referee jumped into position and counted but only got two. They both rolled to their feet and Notch looked for a clothesline but Way ducked and Notch took out the second referee. Wade Mason made his way to the ring to check on the referees as Notch turned back to Way. Notch landed a kick to the gut and delivered the N Factor (X Factor). Notch rolled Way into a cover and Mason shook the first referee alert enough to slowly make the count and Way kicked out at the last moment. Mason climbed into the ring and pulled the referee up and into the corner. He pulled the referee’s shirt off and tossed his suit jacket to the floor and put the referee’s shirt on and was ready. Notch nodded to Mason and pulled Way up. Notch hit the ropes and looked for the bulldog for West Sider but Way dodged. Notch turned around and Way hit the Billion Dollar Kick and covered. Mason as there and made the count and Way picked up the victory.
WINNER AND NEW EW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION: Billy Way, via pinfall [22:47]
Billy Way climbed to his feet and fell into the ropes as Mason reluctantly handed him the championship belt.
Nick Webb: Billy Way has done it! He’s defeated The Notch and is the new EW Heavyweight Champion.
Rayne: Wade doesn’t seem very pleased at the end of this match.
Nick Webb: That was a great match to kick off the ninth WrestleFest.
Rayne: The fans aren’t happy either!
The fans boo Billy Way as he stood over Notch as we cut away for a brief commercial for the BWF Network.
Scott Benjamin introduces the match as The 323 hold up their titles in the ring, Ragnarok and Queen’s Soldiers being introduced. The bell sounded after the titles were handed off and we were left with Perez, Frost, and Erwin in the ring to kick things off. Perez hit Erwin with a hard right hand before turning and hitting Frost with a back elbow. Frost staggered and stepped back into Perez and hit him with a jawbreaker. Erwin charged and dropped Frost with a clothesline. Erwin pulled Perez to his feet and locked him in a headlock before clubbing him with a few blows to the head. Frost came flying from the top ropes and hit Erwin with the AMRAAM (Top rope dropkick). Frost made the tag to Ingvar and they pulled Perez into a double suplex and dropped him in the center of the ring. Ingvar rolled him into a cover but Perez kicked out just at two. Perez powered to his feet and was dropped with a scoop slam from Ingvar but rolled right back to his feet. Erwin charged and was hit with a double flapjack from both Perez and Ingvar. They climbed back to their feet and went right back at each other with lefts and rights. Perez sent Ingvar into his corner and tagged to Torres. Torres entered the ring and Ingvar was taken down with a double hip toss. Erwin tagged out to Damian who entered the ring and hit Torres with a spear. Damian pulled Torres up and hit him with an atomic drop. Torres staggered forward as Ingvar lifted and dropped Damian with a sidewalk slam. Ingvar made the tag to Frost and she jumped to the top ropes. Damian staggered to his feet and Frost came flying with the Hookup (Flying Neckbreaker). Frost went into a cover but Torres pulled her off at two. He pulled Frost to her feet but she responded with a hard elbow to the face. She went off the ropes and looked for a crossbody but Torres dodged and hit the ropes. He came back and dropped Frost with the Chimuelo (Superman Punch).
Nick Webb: What a punch! Karli may be out cold after that one.
Rayne: I think Torres is ready to end things right here.
Damian had made it back to his feet and was lifted into position for the .38 Special (Gunnslinger) but Damian reversed into a DDT. Damian crawled to his corner and made a tag as Frost was to her corner for a tag to Ingvar. Ingvar and Erwin met in the center of the ring and exchanged lefts and rights before Ingvar lifted him up with a scoop powerslam and drove him into the mat. Torres was able to tag out to Perez who entered and spun Ingvar around before hitting Green-Lighted (Jumping Complete Shot). Perez covered Ingvar but Erwin pulled him off at two. Erwin pulled Perez to his feet and hit a jumping knee to the face. He looked for the Malicious Punch (Discus Punch) but Perez ducked it but he walked right into Ingvar’s Strictly Business (Jumping Cutter). Ingvar went for a cover on Perez but was hit with a leg drop by Erwin. Torres jumped into the ring and hit Erwin with the Chimuelo. Frost came flying off the top ropes with the AMRAAM and hit Torres. Frost and Ingvar pulled Erwin up to his feet but Damian hit the ring and dropped with a double clothesline. Perez staggered to his feet and was hit with the Empire State of Mind (3D) and Erwin jumped into a cover and they picked up the big win.
WINNERS AND NEW BWF TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: Queen’s Soldiers, via pinfall [15:31]
Rayne: New champions!
Nick Webb: What a way to start off WrestleFest, two title changes in a row! Queen’s Soldiers have captured their first BWF Tag Team Championship.
Queen’s Soldiers hugged in the center of the ring as they were handed the titles in celebration. Torres pulled Perez out of the ring and they headed up the ramp. Frost and Ingvar watched on from the outside of the ring and never took their eyes off the titles.
Dancing Among the Pain
We open with a close up shot of the New Year’s Eve Ball Drop in NYC, as the camera slowly pulls away into the stoic wry smile of one “Clockwork Kumquat” Ryan Lewis, clad in his now signature brown bowler hat, white dress shirt covered with bright orange suspenders and ox blood colored boots, the BWF Chaos Title, now complete with a photo of his son Huey plastered on it, slung over his shoulder. Lewis leans on his equally orange cane as he whistles to himself before stopping, a look of deadpan insanity.
Clockwork Kumquat: The beauty that comes from the end of a dreadful year and the beginning of a new one is that all the sins we’ve committed in a year can be washed away, as we once again become as white as snow. Of course, I wasn’t the one who sinned this year, did I, BWF? Did I, world? No, I gave all the love and attention I could to my son, even prior to him being engulfed in a sinful disease. Not only do you choose to laugh at my misfortune, BWF, you continuously put me in situations that judge my very moral fibers as a human being. Let’s take the circus freak and put him in the ring with an innocent flower returning to this wasteland! Fine by me! Yes sir! Right away, sir!
Lewis runs his fingers through his hair, a deranged look on his face as it facing some internal dilemma.
Clockwork Kumquat: Nessa, please forgive me for what I am about to do, the journey we must undertake together. I don’t know you well enough to hate you, but unfortunately you have been chosen by the BWF gods to be my next sacrifice to my self-loathing and torment at the hands of this disease that has robbed my son of a good life, robbed me of being a good father. You are the message, and the medium tonight Miss Nessa is one I hope finds the balance between your beautiful innocence and the self-destruction within the walls of my shattered mind. Long ago, had I not been married, perhaps I would have asked you to a ball, a New Year’s Eve Ball, and we’d see just whom we were with at midnight. Alas tonight begs no question as to whom we will be with, we will be together, dancing among the pain and jagged edges of tonight’s contest. Miss Nessa, tonight, may I have this dance..in a New Year’s Eve Junkyard Ball? I’m sure you’ll look radiant..before you bleed.
Lewis leans in close to the championship and nods, actually tickling it like a small child.
Clockwork Kumquat: Right you are, Huey. When the clock strikes midnight, the wrestling world will forget I ever did anything in maiming this poor flower of a girl. Because as the saying goes..
Lewis pulls a streamer from his pocket, blowing on it, before giggling and singing eerily.
Clockwork Kumquat: Should all acquaintance be forgot.
Lewis tips his bowler hat and continues humming “Auld Lang Syne” as the camera pulls back to the New Year’s Eve Ball, before the feed abruptly cuts to black.
It was time for the third ever BWF Money in the Bank ladder match as all the competitors entered the ring and were introduced. There were ladders scattered around the outside of the ring as the referee held up a briefcase before placing it on a hook that slowly rose above the ring. The bell sounded to kick things off as things started with the six competitors locking up. We got a Hall/Hullum pairing, Dagger/Scott pairing, and Chaney/Mathews locking up. They all exchanged a few blows before we could see Scott tossing Dagger over the ropes and onto the apron. Hullum had Hall backed into the corner and was rocking him with hard knees to the gut while Chaney connected with bionic elbows on Mathews. Dagger climbed the turnbuckle and came flying off and hit Scott with a flying clothesline. Hall tried to battle out of the corner with a few forearms to the face of Hullum. Chaney clotheslined Mathews and himself over the top to the floor below. Hall hit Hullum with a headbutt as Scott was pulling Dagger up to her feet after slamming her down. Scott had Dagger on his shoulder and rammed her into a turnbuckle before delivering the Booze Cruisin’ (Oklahoma Slam). Hall dropped Hullum with a discus clothesline before popping to his feet. Hall turned and was rocked by Scott’s Straight Whiskey (Running Lariat). Scott pounded his chest and turned into Tower of Power (Clothesline from Hell) by Mathews. Mathews turned and was leveled by Chaney charging into him with a ladder in his hands. Chaney put the ladder up in the corner and ran at Scott and delivered a running senton. Chaney stood and was hit with a hard kick to the gut by Dagger before she hit him with a jawbreaker. She followed it up with Beyond the Wall of Sleep (Asai DDT into Double Knee Backbreaker). Dagger jumped to her feet and grabbed the ladder out of the corner and set it up. She started to scramble up the ladder quickly.
Rayne: There goes Dagger!
Nick Webb: Moments away from becoming the Money in the Bank winner!
Dagger’s foot was grabbed by Hullum as he pulled her off the ladder. She landed on her feet but was hit with the Kurtain Kall (Hangman’s Facebuster). Hall connected with a snap kick to the gut of Scott as he started to stand and applied a headlock. Mathews and Hullum locked up in the middle of the ring and exchanged a few blows before Mathews hit a scoop slam. Hullum rose to his feet and was lifted to the shoulders of Mathews. Hullum slipped away and connected with a belly to back suplex. Hullum got to his feet and was hit with a bionic elbow by Chaney. Chaney pulled Hullum in and delivered the Set-Up (Double Arm DDT). Dagger was on the outside of the ring and was setting up a set of tables beside each other before getting grabbed from behind by Hall. Hall sent her into the steel steps and jumped to the apron. Scott grabbed Chaney and sent him into the corner and followed him with a clothesline. Chaney fell to the mat and Scott looked for the Goin’ Muddin’ (Running Knee to Head of Seated Opponent) but was hit with a superkick by Hall. Hall started to scurry up the ladder as Mathews climbed up on the other side of the ladder. They met at the top and exchanged blows. Hall tried to slam Mathews head on the top step of the ladder but Mathews blocked it. Mathews grabbed Hall by the hair and slammed him hard into the top step. Chaney was on his feet and started to push the ladder over and both went falling to the outside of the ring and through the tables!
Nick Webb: Oh my, God! Hall and Mathews are down and broken in half.
Rayne: Chaney has an opening now!
Chaney started to set the ladder back up in the middle of the ring before taking another ladder to the gut as Scott entered the ring with another ladder. Scott pushed Chaney into the corner with the ladder. He then put the ladder against Chaney and was ready to charge. Scott ran at the corner but Chaney pushed the ladder at him and it clanked off Scott hard. Dagger was back in the ring and hit Hullum with Beyond the Wall of Sleep. She popped back to her feet and was pulled into a hold by Chaney and hit with the Punchline (Package Piledriver). Chaney started to make his way up the ladder and Hullum was able to get to the same side and climb a few steps and grab Chaney by the tights. Hullum tried to pull Chaney off the ladder but Chaney hugged the top step and kicked Hullum off. Hullum hit the ropes and fell into the ladder and sent Chaney falling to the mat. The ladder bounced off the ropes and back to Hullum and he set up the ladder and climbed. Scott started to come to as Hullum climbed the ladder. Hullum was close and grabbed the briefcase before Scott could make it.
2015 MONEY IN THE BANK WINNER: Kurt Hullum, via briefcase retrieval [24:05]
Rayne: Kurt Hullum has Money in the Bank!
Nick Webb: Kurt Hullum can now challenge for the BWF World Championship at any point over the next year!
Hullum climbed down the ladder as he held the briefcase high as trainers came down and checked on the rest of the competitors.
...Hate Leads to Suffering.
After a few moments of silence, "Mz. Hyde" begins to play over the sound system. A few moments later, Karli Frost steps out of the back to a crowd reaction that is not mixed at all. She doesn't appear to have even one fan in San Jose. She makes her way to the ring, wearing a pair of jeans and a tan colored cashmere sweater, and climbs in. After a few more seconds of crowd reaction, she lifts her microphone.
Karli Frost: So, here we are. WrestleFest. BWF's premiere event. You guys are in for a truly exciting night. First, we have the triple threat tag team match and then the main event where Fenryr gets to take home his title.
The crowd boos at Karli's announcement.
Karli Frost: I know, I know. It's been such a bad month for everyone involved in that situation.
Karli laughs slightly.
Karli Frost: Well, almost everyone. Fenryr has been having a decent month, yeah? After getting cheated out of a shot to face AJ Adams for the title on his own, he was allowed into the match by beating AJ fair and square the next week. And then, not only that, he also beat Sabrina Scott the next week, knocking off both of the competitors in the match tonight in singles competition. That's hardly a surprise. I just wanted to address...something...wow, everyone...
Karli adjusts her sweater slightly.
Karli Frost: ...this sweater is really, really warm. It was a Christmas gift from my own boyfriend. And see, this is where things get kinda screwed up for me. See, Fenryr got this for me as a thoughtful gesture, since he knew it was going to be cold up here today. It was so sweet of him, but it's just a sweater. See, he didn't make sure that I was going to win a match that I had no reason or hope to win. So why, Sabrina? Why are you so upset at AJ for making sure that you would have a shot at the world title, when you knew, everyone knew, there was no way you would beat Fenryr to get the shot on your own? Come on, Sabrina. There's always a reason to stab your boyfriend in the back, but getting you to the main event at WrestleFest?
Karli makes a sweeping gesture with her arm.
Karli Frost: Of all the reasons in the world, that has to be the dumbest reason of all. Which brings up something else. You say you "gave yourself to him"? What were you doing? Saving yourself for someone "special"? Man, Sabrina. You're pathetic.
The crowd's boos resume, along with a rising "Bitch!" chant.
Karli Frost: Thank you! Name calling. The last resort of weak minded fools like yourselves when you have no argument. But there is a silver lining to your situation, Sabrina. You'll get over that too. You won't get over it before the main event tonight, but you will, eventually. And while you and AJ come to this ring tonight having your little lover's quarrel, guess who will be here, focused solely on that gold strap AJ has, with his every mental...emotional...and physical need fulfilled? So, Sabrina. AJ. Enjoy the rest of the night as the feelings of dread build up to your inevitable defeats.
Karli throws the microphone into the center of the ring and walks back to the backstage area as her music plays.
The camera opened to a nearby junkyard just outside San Francisco as an area was cleared. Wall and Lewis stood a few feet from each other and the referee took the Chaos Theory Championship from Lewis. He explained there were no rules in the match and the winner would be the first to gain a pinfall or submission. There was no bell but the two competitors walked towards each other and came to blows.
Nick Webb: I don’t think this is how Nessa Wall imagined her BWF return.
Lewis hit Wall with a forearm and tossed her towards some cars and she landed on the hood. Lewis climbed up after her and she stood and backdropped him onto the roof of the car. Lewis grabbed his back as Wall jumped up and dropped a knee onto his chest. Wall tried to pull Lewis off but he tripped her up and she stumbled and jumped off the car. Lewis got to his feet and jumped off the car and hit Wall with a flying knee to the face. He tried to cover Wall and got a two count after she kicked out. Wall got to her feet and caught him with a kick to the gut and blasted him with a rolling elbow to the face.
Rayne: This is just a fight. You have the feeling that it won’t last very long.
Lewis stumbled against another car and was grabbed by Wall. She was hit with a hard left hand that staggered her. Lewis charged and Wall dodged a spear and Lewis smashed into a car window. He fell backwards as blood trickled down his face. He touched his face and looked at the blood and just smirked as he got back to his feet, dazed. He hit Wall with a running elbow smash and quickly followed it with a scoop slam. He slowly climbed to the roof of a car and jumped off as he looked for the Five Alive Frogsplash (Five Star Frog Splash) but Wall moved. Lewis hit the ground hard and Wall rolled him up with an Oklahoma roll as the referee made the count and Lewis kicked out just before three. Wall grabbed Lewis and he tried to roll her up in a small package but she kicked out and popped to her feet. Lewis tried to get to his feet but was hit with the Kissy, Kissy (Stiff Shining Wizard). She dropped onto Lewis with a cover and picked up the victory.
WINNER AND NEW BWF CHAOS THEORY CHAMPION: Nessa Wall, via pinfall [10:42]
Rayne: New Chaos Theory Champion!
Nick Webb: Nessa Wall has returned to the BWF and captured her first BWF championship all in the same night!
Now Airing Only on the BWF Network
AXW The Alternate #26!
Nick Webb: This match came about after Outlaw wanted to compete against Gabe Shelley tonight but X answered the challenge.
Rayne: It’s one of those dream matches, Nick. Two guys that have each been at the top of BWF in different eras competing at WrestleFest. X the only two time Gauntlet Run winner and a three time BWF World Champion.
Nick Webb: And Outlaw spent 129 days as World Champion in 2013.
The two Hall of Famers stood in the ring and quickly came to blows as the referee rang the bell. Outlaw hit a series of left and right jabs but X came right back with hard right hands that backed Outlaw into the ropes. X whipped Outlaw across the ring and delivered a powerslam. Outlaw staggered to his feet and was hit with a scoop slam. X looked for an elbow drop but Outlaw rolled out of his way and to his feet. Outlaw charged X and connected with a spear and climbed right into mounted punches. Outlaw pulled X to his feet and sent him into the ropes. Outlaw caught him with a Samoan drop on the return and popped to his feet. Outlaw jumped to the second ropes and hit a diving elbow drop. Outlaw pulled X to his feet but was pushed away. Outlaw charged again and was lifted and driven into the mat with a spinebuster. X pulled Outlaw up to his feet and locked in a full nelson. Outlaw thrashed about and X delivered a full nelson drop. X rolled Outlaw into a cover but just got two. Outlaw started to power to his feet but took a knee to the gut. X jumped up and delivered the Lobotomy (Double Leg Fame-Asser) as the fans popped. X covered and hooked a leg and Outlaw kicked out before three. Outlaw tried to stand and fell backwards to the mat. X started to pull him to his feet and lock in the Straight Jacket (Half Chickenwing, Half Nelson) but Outlaw slipped away. Outlaw hit X with a jawbreaker that staggered X. Outlaw grabbed X and delivered the asai DDT near the corner. Outlaw slowly climbed to the top ropes and dove, connecting with It Came From Above II (Frog Splash) and covered. Outlaw thought he picked up the win but X kicked out just before three and he couldn’t believe it. He asked the referee if it was three multiple times before turning to X. X lunged at Outlaw with a punch to the gut. The two went back and forth slowly with blows.
Nick Webb: Back and forth between these two former champions.
Outlaw pulled X into position for Breaking the Law (Canadian Destroyer) but X countered with a backdrop. Outlaw got to his feet and turned right into a clothesline. X pulled him to his feet and locked in the Straight Jacket. Outlaw screamed “no” when the referee asked if he quit. Outlaw planted his feet and backed X into the corner and broke the hold. Outlaw threw a few elbows backwards and landed them on the side of X’s head. Outlaw sent him into the ropes and connected with Lock-Up (Black Hole Slam) and both men were down. Outlaw got to his feet first and pulled X up slowly. Outlaw hit the ropes and looked for Unlawful (Tilt-A-Whirl DDT) but X reversed it into a powerslam. Outlaw staggered to his feet and was hit with another Lobotomy and X covered, picking up the win.
WINNER: X, via pinfall [17:13]
Nick Webb: And a big victory for X here at WrestleFest!
Rayne: Outlaw’s first match in a long time ends in a loss. That won’t put a very good taste in his mouth.
Nick Webb: And now it’s time for a very special moment. After seeing two Hall of Famers compete we are now going to reveal the Hall of Fame Class of 2015. Congratulations to the following BWF superstars.
Rayne: Who do you think will answer the challenge?
Nick Webb: I don’t think there are many people that can at this point. Most of the roster is booked in matches already.
The Jay-Sticars stood in the ring as a voice came over the loudspeakers.
Voice: Oh fellow brothers! The time is now! You’ve been held down for far too long! We are here to begin the revolution! We are THE BROTHERS OF REVOLUTION!
Rayne: Who?
Nick Webb: Looks like BWF is being graced with a debut here at WrestleFest and what an opportunity! I’m being told the Brothers are Neil Daniels, Darius Wilson, and Elijah Hill.
Hill stood in the ring with Blazenwing as the bell sounded. Hill came quick with a running forearm that dropped Blazenwing. Blazenwing popped to his feet and caught the charging Hill with a reverse atomic drop. Hill doubled over and was taken down with a flipping neckbreaker. Hill rolled to his corner and made a tag to Wilson. Wilson tried to springboard into the ring but was taken down with Blazenwing’s Full Effect (Superkick)! Blazenwing made the tag to Figgins as she jumped into the ring. Figgins pulled Wilson to his feet and drove a knee into his gut and then head. Daniels climbed into the ring and Figgins charged and he took her down with a big spinebuster. Blazenwing jumped into the ring and connected with a clothesline that took them both out of the ring. Figgins stumbled to her feet and Wilson had tagged back in Hill. Hill charged and ran into a kick to the gut that was followed by the Destiny Hammer (Corkscrew Scissor Kick). She covered and got two before being pulled off by Wilson. Wilson pulled her up and connected with a fisherman DDT. He pulled Hill onto Figgins but James was in the ring to break it up. She connected with the Bleeding Rose (Sliced Bread #2) on Wilson. She rushed over to Figgins and rolled her onto Hill and they picked up the win.
WINNERS AND STILL BWF TRIOS CHAMPIONS: Jay-Sticars, via pinfall [10:34]
Rayne: I don’t think that’s what the Brothers had in mind.
Jay and the Justicars embrace in a hug in the ring as they’re handed their titles before we fade away.
Coming Soon to BWF Network
Tuesday, March 31, 2016
Nick Webb: Now this is a match that I don’t think anyone ever thought we’d see. Emily Corlen and Katie James take on Dave Slayton and Gabe Shelley.
Rayne: Can we just point out Gabe’s ties to all of the people in the match? He and Dave are former eWo Tag Team Champions, as are he and Emily, and he’s married to Katie!
Nick Webb: Don’t forget that Emily was trained by Dave.
Gabe Shelley was seen wearing a brace on his wrist as he entered the ring. He and Slayton talked in their corner as it looked like James would start for the Sisters. Shelley patted Slayton on the chest and backed into the center of the ring and turned to James. The bell sounded as the fans were roaring in cheers. They both smiled briefly before locking up. Shelley immediately applied a headlock on James and dropped to a knee. She was able to slip out and applied a hammerlock on the injured wrist of Shelley. He was in pain but reached back and was able to snapmare her over as he dropped down. James rolled to her feet and turned back to Shelley and was hit with a right hand. He sent her into the ropes and lifted her with a Samoan drop. They both climbed to their feet and she caught him with a step up enziguri. Shelley flipped onto his back and climbed to his feet. James grabbed Shelley and delivered a lifting DDT. She made the tag to Corlen who entered the ring. Corlen locked up with Shelley as he stood and she applied a sleeper hold. Shelley was able to reverse into a belly to back suplex. Corlen got to her feet and was hit with a spinning back kick to the gut. He followed it with a suplex and pulled her right back up. He sent Corlen into the ropes and she looked for a clothesline but he ducked it. He tagged Slayton and Corlen hit the ropes and was hit with a double flapjack. Shelley pulled Corlen to her feet and lifted her for a sidewalk slam as Slayton delivered a reverse DDT.
Nick Webb: Good team work by Gabe and Dave.
Rayne: They made a great team in eWo. It’s a shame we never saw them here in BWF as a team.
Slayton pulled Corlen to her feet and a standing crossface chickenwing. Corlen broke free with elbows to the head. She turned and landed a few European uppercuts. Slayton stepped backwards and made a tag to Shelley. Corlen charged and ran into a Lou Thesz Press by Slayton. Shelley springboarded into the ring with the I’m A Bird MotherF***er (Springboard Leg Drop While Flapping Arms). He covered Corlen and James broke it up by pulling him off. She climbed back to the apron as Corlen staggered to her feet. Shelley looked for the Fallout (Zig Zag) but Corlen grabbed the top ropes and Shelley fell backwards. Corlen turned and caught him with the Skull Cracker (Chick Kick)! He fell backwards to the mat as she made the tag to James. James climbed to the top ropes and looked for the Red Ring of Death (Swanton Bomb) but Shelley rolled out of the way. Both were down and Shelley crawled to his corner and made a tag to Slayton. Slayton stood in the corner as James crawled to her feet. He looked for the Full Effect (Sweet Chin Music) but James ducked it and Corlen made a blind tag. James kicked Slayton in the gut and looked for Shelley’s Jersey Cutter (Twist of Fate) but Slayton spun away and pulled her down into the Firehawk Lock (Crossface). Corlen came flying off the top ropes and hit Slayton with the Dust to Dust (Curb Stomp)! Corlen covered and Shelley couldn’t make the break in time as Corlen picked up the win.
WINNERS: Super Smash Sisters, via pinfall [15:24]
Rayne: What a move by Emily! I don't think she's busted that one out since REBEL Pro! HA!
Nick Webb: Another classic WrestleFest match by these four superstars.
Shelley took a knee to check on Slayton who was dazed and confused but seemed okay overall. James ruffled the hair of Shelley before kissing him on the cheek before the referee raised the hands of James and Corlen.
On Nights Like Tonight
The camera shifts backstage, where we find Will Irwin standing by.
Will Irwin: Folks, right now, please introduce one of the competitors in tonight's Triple Threat main event... the 2015 Gauntlet Run Sole Survivor, Sabrina Scott.
The camera pans over to Sabrina as the crowd roars.
Will Irwin: Sabrina. Tonight, you're main-eventing quite possibly the biggest event in BWF history, competing in front of a sold-out Levi's Stadium, and you've got the chance to leave California as the new BWF World Champion. Tell me, what's going through your mind right now?
Sabrina Scott: Butterflies, Will. I'm nervous as heck! But nerves are good. I'm focused, I'm determined and I'm dead set on winning.
Will Irwin: On the last Havok, you did what the current Champion seemingly couldn't - you pinned Fenryr Wulfsson. After losing to him a week prior, are you feeling more confident now in facing the leader of Ragnarok?
Sabrina Scott: Fenryr's a scary cat, Will. No one's saying otherwise. But on Havok, I proved that he is NOT unbeatable. What's more, I proved that it was NOT a guarantee that Fenryr would have won the Gauntlet Run without AJ's involvement. I'm one tough cookie, and if Fenryr's already forgotten that lesson, I'll gladly remind him tonight.
Will Irwin: Speaking of AJ Adams, how are you feeling about competing tonight against your, well, former paramour?
Sabrina blushes softly, but continues.
Sabrina Scott: I cared a lot about AJ. Heck, I loved the big lug. But he's become way too focused on himself. Sometimes, I used to wonder if he cared about anything but his World Title. I guess we got our answer, huh?
Sabrina chuckles sadly, shaking her head.
Sabrina Scott: Am I the bad guy for finally seeing him for what he really is? Maybe. But I deserve someone who treats me like AJ treats his Championship. That's, uh, hashtag relationship goals right there.
Will laughs.
Sabrina Scott: You know, part of me thinks the only reason AJ REALLY interfered in the Gauntlet Run is because he thought I'd be an easier win than Fenryr. He's scarily obsessed with the fact that he's never won a match at WrestleFest. But that's not my problem. At the end of the day, I'm here now, the match is what it is, and what it is... is hope.
Will Irwin: Sorry... hope?
Sabrina Scott: Call me crazy, Will, but on nights like this... you can just feel the magic in the air. Something big is on the verge of happening. Something amazing. My time is coming, Will. Tonight, when that bell rings and my arm is held high, I'll have finally completed what I set out to do... honor my late fiancée's wishes by becoming World Champion when he never had the opportunity to.
Will Irwin: You're referring to Aiden Williams, the older brother of Empire's Krista May Williams.
Sabrina Scott: Yessir.
Will Irwin: I think he'd be proud of you, kiddo.
Sabrina Scott: ...awww... Will!
Sabrina grabs Will and pulls him in for a hug.
Will Irwin: No matter what Karli has to say, I'm pulling for you tonight, Sabrina.
Sabrina steps back.
Sabrina Scott: Huh? Karli?
Will Irwin: Oh, you might have missed that. Here.
Will pulls out his phone, pulls up the BWF Network and rewinds the live feed (prompting a quick "DUDE, it's like Spaceballs!" from Sabrina when she sees them looking at themselves live on his phone) and plays back a short amount of Karli's promo from earlier in the night.
Sabrina Scott: ...wow. Well, look, I'm know I'm normally miss happy and chipper, take the high road, so on and so on... but just this once?
Will Irwin: Be my guest.
Sabrina Scott: FUCK HER. Seriously!
Will Irwin: Been there. Done that. Pretty sure I got the clap.
Sabrina snorts loudly with laughter.
Sabrina Scott: Oh my gosh. You're BAD!
Will Irwin: Eh. I'll probably die for that, so it was nice knowing you.
Sabrina Scott: No need to worry! We'll have my World Champion celebratory parade in the halls of San Francisco General!
Sabrina pulls Will in for another hug, and then walks off, continuing her preparation for tonight's big match. Will nods to the camera and the scene fades back to ringside.
Nick Webb: Next month at Broken Resolutions, Spyke Gein will face his brother, Johnny Maverick, in what many suspect may be Johnny's final match. This match will decide the stipulation of that contest.
Rayne: If Spyke wins, he picks the match stip at Broken Resolutions. If Phantom wins, it's all Johnny. No doubt which man Johnny's rooting for tonight!
Gein and Phantom stood across from each other as the bell sounded. Phantom attacked first with a headbutt that staggered Gein into the corner. Phantom unloaded with lefts and rights before driving his shoulder into the gut of Gein. He flipped Gein to the center of the ring with a hip toss and applied a seated sleeper hold. Phantom connected with an elbow to the neck of Gein and applied the sleeper again. This time Gein was able to slip free and land a kick to the gut. Gein sent Phantom into the corner and delivered the Rising Sun-of-a-bitch (Back Handspring Elbow). Gein pulled Phantom out of the corner and delivered a DDT and covered for two. Gein pulled Phantom up to a seated position and landed a series of forearms to the face.
Rayne: Both Gein and Karloff are bringing the intensity. Neither want this match to last long.
Gein jumped to the top ropes and waited for Phantom to stand. He dove and connected with Nike-A-Go-Go (Front Somersault Dropkick). Gein pulled Phantom up to his feet and looked for a spiking DDT but Phantom pushed him away. Phantom sent him into the corner and charged before connecting with Sine Gloria (Running Big Boot). Phantom pushed Gein to the mat and jumped to the top ropes. He looked for Psychlotrode (Corkscrew 630 Splash) but Gein rolled out of the way. Phantom staggered to his feet and was dropped by The Norris (Roundhouse Kick). Gein dropped onto him and picked up an easy three for the win.
WINNER: Spyke Gein, via pinfall [13:51]
Rayne: Spyke did it!
Nick Webb: And with that win, Spyke will move on to face Johnny Maverick - and he has full control over what kind of match it ends up being. I can’t wait to see the lead up to that.
The next match saw Da Bomb defend her International Championship against Alexander King and Kaito Hirano. The two challengers looked to subdue the champion early by rushing her. The two treated Da Bomb to double knees to the mid-section and then shot her off into the ropes. On her return Da Bomb hit King with a short arm clothesline and then hit an atomic drop on Hirano which sent him staggering around the ring in agony. Da Bomb shot Hirano into the ropes and then dropped to her stomach. Hirano was forced to jump over Da Bomb but in doing that he ran right into a wheel kick from King. Bomb then got to her feet and but King hit her with a kick to the knee which dropped her to one knee. King then hit the ropes and treated her face to a big boot. King tried to cover Da Bomb but Hirano came off of the top rope with a diving double stomp to King's back, breaking up the fall. Hirano was in the driver's seat at this point as he got King up. Hirano sent King into the corner and followed that up with a running high knee. He then attempted to bring King out of the corner with a running bulldog but Da Bomb came out of nowhere with a running leaping knee to the forehead.
Nick Webb: A hard knee there by Da Bomb!
Rayne: Da Bomb doing everything she can here tonight, Nick.
With Hirano stunned, King took him over head with a back suplex. King attempted to bridge his suplex into a pin but Da Bomb immediately broke up the fall. Da Bomb got King up and attempted to send him through the ropes to the outside but King blocked it and hit her with big elbows to the mid-section. With the champion staggered King hit a springboard off of the ropes and went flying through the air. Just as he was about to hit Da Bomb with a flying forearm Hirano nailed him with an impressive spin kick to the face in mid-air. The crowd popped as King fell in a heap and Hirano covered. Hirano nearly secured the three count before the champion broke up the fall. Da Bomb mounted Hirano and laid into him with some big rights and lefts before getting him to his feet. She then took him back down with a snapmare and applied a seated headlock. Her expression let us know that she thought she was in control but that smile quickly switched to agony as King came up behind her and applied a sleeper hold of his own.
Da Bomb was forced to break her sleeper hold on Hirano in order to fight off King. She was able to back him hard into the corner, using the turnbuckle as a weapon in order to break free. Before Da Bomb could capitalize and attack King, Hirano came out of nowhere with a running forearm to the back of her head. Hirano then got under Da Bomb and lifted her up into an electric chair drop position. King climbed to the top rope as Hirano held the champion up on his shoulders. The audience got their cellphones ready and many flashes went off as King came off of the top rope with a flying forearm that caught Da Bomb right in the mush, completing a modified doomsday device. Da Bomb fell in a heap and Hirano covered but King immediately pulled him off of the champion.
Rayne: Kaito had this match won after what was a tremendous double team spot but now King and Hirano are going at it.
Hirano and King begin arguing over who should pin the champion and that immediately devolves into them exchanging blows. The two fire at each other back and forth with King getting the upperhand. King hits a spinning back kick to Hirano's midsection. King then looks to hit The Headshot but Da Bomb pulls King down to the mat with a roll up. King is able to kickout just before three and looks shocked that Da Bomb nearly had him. Hirano hits Da Bomb with a running knee to the back of the head which drops her. Kaito then gets King up and peppers him with big shots. Hirano then hits a toe kick to King's mid-section and attempts to lift him up for the Oyasumi. King reverses it and attempts a rolling knee bar but Hirano is able to fight away and give himself enough space to blast King with a buzzsaw kick.
With King down Kaito is just about to cover but Da Bomb comes from behind and nails Solid Fundamentals! Kaito is trapped in the middle of the ring trying to fight to the ropes but to no avail. King gets up to his feet and is extremely groggy. Once he sees what is going on he dashes across the ring but just before he can make a move Hirano taps out.
WINNER AND STILL BWF INTERNATIONAL CHAMPION: Da Bomb, via submission [22:46]
Nick Webb: Da Bomb has retained!
Rayne: Kaito had this match won more than once but it was the right timing by Da Bomb that helped her retain.
Da Bomb hugged her title before showing it off as she rolled out of the ring.
Coming Soon to the BWF Network
Monday, January 25, 2016
Nick Webb: We’ve seen some matches tonight that were hard fought and a straight up fight, this match should be no different. Jonathan Fhenix and Elena Simonova are ready to end things once and for all inside a Steel Cage!
Rayne: You mean Fhenix is ready to end Elena once and for all inside a Steel Cage.
The bell hadn’t even sounded before Elena speared Fhenix into the corner and unloaded with knees to his side. He fought out of the corner with lefts and rights before spearing her to the mat. He pulled her up and quickly delivered a gutwrench suplex. He began to stomp on Elena and she rolled out of the ring. She took a few moments to regroup and rolled into the ring. Fhenix charged and ran right into a back elbow to the face. Elena hit the ropes and came back with a double axe handle. Fhenix rolled to his knees and was rocked with the buzzsaw kick. Elena quickly dropped into a cover but only picked up two. Fhenix powered to his feet and had to dodge a clothesline. He grabbed Elena from behind and drove her to the mat with a German suplex. Fhenix pulled Elena back to her feet and hit a second German suplex. He climbed to the top ropes and readied himself. For a moment, it looks like Fhenix is considering climbing out of the cage, but instead, he turns and jumps into a top rope dropkick, catching Elena hard. He pulled her into a cover for just two. Elena used the ropes to pull herself up as Fhenix charged. She dropped and he went flying into the cage wall!
Rayne: Fhenix just hit the cage wall hard.
Elena hit the far ropes and came back and dove into the cage wall, sandwiching Fhenix between the cage and herself! The fans cheered as Elena pulled Fhenix up and rolled him back into the ring proper. She looked for a cover but he reached up and looked for a small package attempt that got a two count. They both climbed to their feet and he hit Elena with the Stock Market Crash (Sky High). He pulled Elena back to her feet and hit the flapjack to the ropes part of Try to Breathe. He looked for the stiff kick to the throat but Elena rolled out of the way. Elena looked for the Iron Curtain (Black Widow) but couldn’t quite lock it in 100%. Fhenix made it to the ropes and forced Elena to break the hold. She rolled away and stood back up. He looked for the Tragic Hero (RKO) but she pushed him away. She grabbed Fhenix and delivered the Reverse Psychology (C4). Elena dove into a cover and was able to get the three count.
WINNER: Elena Simonova, via pinfall [14:42]
Elena rolled out of the ring as Fhenix jumped to his feet and lunged at her. He grabbed the referee and pushed him to the mat in frustration and watched Elena walk up the ramp.
Nick Webb: No escapes tonight, but then we didn't think there would be. These two wanted to punish each other, that's for damn sure.
Rayne: I’d say Elena has all the luck but it just looks like she has Fhenix’s number.
We All Have Reasons
The camera opened up in the backstage area where we could see BWF World Champion AJ Adams stretching and warming up for his match coming up. The fans give a cheer as he keeps glancing over at his title as the door to his locker room opens slowly and Don McMichael could be heard.
Don McMichael: AJ, do you have a few moments?
AJ Adams: Sure thing, Don.
Don enters the room and AJ shakes his hand.
Don McMichael: You’ve been hounded with the same questions for weeks now about why you did what you did at Gauntlet Run. Tonight those actions come full circle and the consequences of those actions have caught up to you. Do you regret what happened at Gauntlet Run?
AJ Adams: No way. I did what I did because I thought that it would be the best thing for Sabrina. I wanted to help her and I did. It’s not my fault that she can’t understand that and be appreciative of it.
Don McMichael: If Sabrina was in the ring at the moment with anyone else on the roster would you have jumped in?
AJ looks at him confused and shrugs.
AJ Adams: I’m not sure I’m following, Don.
Don McMichael: Let’s say the Gauntlet Run came down to Sabrina and anyone else, take your pick, would you have helped her win?
AJ Adams: Are you saying I did it because Fenryr was the final two? Like I can’t beat him or something?
AJ starts to get frustrated and grabs his title.
AJ Adams: Are you saying that I don’t think I can beat Fenryr?
Don McMichael: Well he did beat you on Havok a couple weeks ago.
AJ Adams: Even Danny Hall wins a match every now and then. That doesn’t make him any good. Just because Fenryr beat me at Havok doesn’t mean I’m afraid of him.
Don McMichael: No one said you are afraid of Fenryr.
AJ Adams: Good. Because I’m not. I’m done here.
AJ storms off as Don looks on.
Fan favorite F.M. Young stood in the ring staring at Sovereign Champion Brianna Park, waiting for the bell to sound. Park handed off her championship to the referee and we heard the three dings. Park rushed the challenger and hit her with a flurry of palm strikes to the face which backed Young into the corner. After a few quick chops Park backed out of the corner and then ran in with a high velocity clothesline. Young staggered out of the corner and Flair-flopped onto her face.
Nick Webb: Not the start that Young wanted for this huge title opportunity.
Park got the challenger up and mocked her for a moment much to the chagrin of the audience. This caused Young to stir as she responded to Park's taunts with a short elbow strike to the face. Park staggered backwards and went for a high kick on Young but Young ran through, rebounded of the ropes and nearly turned Park inside out with a flipping spear. The camera got a shot of Young's dazed expression for a quick second before Young covered, only getting a two count.
Rayne: Good lord! I almost thought the match was over right there! Whew!
With Park down, Young ascended to the top rope and took a moment to acknowledge her supporters in the audience. Young then came off of the top rope looking for a hurricanranna but Park was (impressively) able to hold Young up in the air. Park then darted towards a corner and dove onto her stomach, bringing Young down with a running powerbomb that caused the back of the challengers head to hit crash into the middle turnbuckle.
Nick Webb: Nasty hit there. Let's see if Park can take advantage.
Park pulled Young out of the corner by her left leg and then hit a dragon screw to torque the left knee of Young in the wrong direction. Park then got Young up to her feet and waived a scolding finger in front of the challenger's face. Park whipped Young into the corner and followed that up with a running high knee. Young nearly fell on her face again but this time Park lifted her upside down into a tree of woe. Park then backed out of the corner, charged in and nailed the God Bless Korea dropkick right into Young's left knee.
Rayne: Brianna Park is the best thing to come out of South Korea since Pokémon!
Nick Webb: Pokémon is Japanese. Don't be racist.
Park looked confident as Young laid on the mat clutching at her left knee. Park got Young up and the latter attempted to put some space between herself and her opponent. Young then sprung forward and attempted a short arm elbow but Park ducked under it and planted Young with a cutter. Park then slid under the bottom rope to the outside of the ring. She grabbed Young's left leg from the outside and pulled her into the corner, with the ring post between her legs. Park then quickly applied a ringpost figure four much to the dismay of the audience. Young screamed in pain and Park looked absolutely ecstatic as the referee tried to break the hold.
Nick Webb: Champion's advantage in play here... Brianna gets DQ'ed, she retains the Sovereign Title.
Rayne: Not gonna happen. Brianna wants to embarrass Young here in front of tens of thousands of fans. This is her biggest night yet, and we're talking a woman who won the Happenstance crown and the BWF World Title in the last 365 days!
The Soul of Seoul broke the hold in fear of getting disqualified and went to re-enter the ring. Park got up onto the apron and then climbed to the top rope. In a desperation move Young hobbled up to a vertical base, dove and hit the top rope causing Park to lose her balance. Young then walked over and pulled Park off of the top rope in a fireman's carry before nailing Park with the Boom Pow! Park looks knocked out cold and both competitors are down.
Nick Webb: F.M. Young has turned this match around!
Rayne: But she's too hurt to take advantage!
Before Young can cover Park got back up to her feet. Young stood and Park walked over, treating Young to a slap to the face. Park then went for a spinning back fist but Young blocked it, nailed Park with a heel kick to the face, then a snap enziguri and finally took Park down with a spinebuster that absolutely planted the champion into the canvas.
Nick Webb: Young could be rolling to her first reign as Sovereign Champion if this keeps up!
With the champion down on the mat Young climbed to the top rope. Park quickly got up and attempted to hit the ropes but Young dropped down before Park could get her revenge, however, Young landed awkwardly on her left leg. Park then dashed at Young and nearly got hit with a instinctual dropkick from the challenger. Park was able to swat Young's feet away and then take hold of them as Young landed on her back. Park quickly applied the Cry For KIM Il (her version of a figure four) and Young cried out in agony.
Rayne: There's nowhere for Young to go! This one is OVER!
Park had the Cry For KIM Il locked in and Young was grinding her teeth, seething in pain. The challenger then used her elbows to drag herself backwards towards the ropes. Park tried to resist, pulling back but Young was too strong, too determined. Young finally grabbed the bottom rope and the referee made her break the hold. Young held onto the ropes even after the hold was broken, to prevent Park from trying the hold again.
Nick Webb: And F.M. Young, BARELY making it to the ropes! The fans are on the edge of their seats, Rayne!
With Young clutching the bottom rope, Park walked over and began stomping on the challenger's hands, trying to get her to let go. Young could only refuse for so long before letting go. Park then stomped a few times on Young's left knee before dragging her into the middle of the ring. Park then attempted to apply the Sasori-Gatame sharpshooter but as she turned around Young kicked the sole of her boot into Park's ass and kicked her forward. Park staggered forward but caught herself in a corner. Young got up and attempted to dash forward with a burst of energy but Park lifted her over head and Young leap frogged the champion! Young landed on the top rope but Park was immediately there to grab her.
Nick Webb: Young with the acrobatic counter!
Rayne: But Brianna was ready for it!
Young tossed her right leg back with a mule kick that caught Park right on the button. The champion dropped as if she developed instant narcolepsy. Young wasted no time leaping off of the top rope with the Midnight Overdrive, crashing right down on top of the champion. Young quickly covered to secure the three count and the Sovereign Championship, much to the delight of the audience.
WINNER AND NEW BWF SOVEREIGN CHAMPION: F.M. Young, via pinfall [24:53]
Rayne: I can’t believe it! The hero of Asia has fallen to Young! This can’t be right.
Nick Webb: Believe it, Rayne! F.M. just pulled off a great WrestleFest moment by defeating Brianna Park.
Rayne: Brianna is not going to be happy about this one bit.
F,M. Young jumped up in excitement as she was handed the title. She put it to her forehead and then held it high. She jumped to the second turnbuckle and pointed out to the crowd and her group of supporters.
Rayne: Here we go!
Nick Webb: The moment we’ve been waiting for, folks. The BWF World Championship is on the line as AJ Adams is set to defend against Sabrina Scott and Fenryr Wulfsson.
Rayne: I can’t believe that this match is happening. Fenryr shouldn’t even be in the match.
Nick Webb: AJ dug himself in this hole. He screwed Fenryr out of the Gauntlet Run and then couldn’t defeat him to keep him out of this match.
Rayne: Sabrina has the number of Fenryr though. We saw her take him down in a tag match.
Scott Benjamin gave the big match announcement as AJ Adams showed off the BWF World Championship and the three competitors were introduced. They all circled each other as they each waited for the other to strike, the fans buzzing with cheers. Adams attacked Fenryr first with a forearm to the face. Fenryr struck right back with a knee to the gut before tossing Adams into the corner. Fenryr landed a few right hands before Adams spun Fenryr into the corner and landed a few shots of his own. Adams turned and was caught with a snap kick to the jaw from Scott as the fans popped. He dropped to a knee and Scott followed it up with an enziguri. Fenryr pulled himself to his feet and dropped Scott with a clothesline. He pulled her up by her hair and landed a hard blow to the head that drove her to her knees. He lifted her in a gutwrench and delivered a suplex. Fenryr took his time walking around the ring and grabbed Adams. The two tried to power the other into the ropes but Fenryr dropped Adams with a hip toss. Adams rolled to his feet and charged as he looked for a spear but took a lifting kick to the chest. Fenryr clubbed Adams with hard blows to the back and dropped him with a DDT. Adams rolled to his feet and had to dodge a blow to the face and was able to land a kick to the gut of Fenryr. Adams jumped up and hit him with Eat It (Fame Asser). He looked for a cover but Fenryr powered out at one. Adams was grabbed by Fenryr and lifted up with the 9-9-9 (Gorilla Press Slam) and instead of driving him to the mat tossed him to the outside!
Rayne: Adams just landed hard out here in front of us.
Nick Webb: Looks like he may have tried to brace himself and hurt his wrist.
Adams told the trainer at ringside he was fine as he shook his hand. Sabrina was up to her feet and hit Fenryr with a front dropkick that sent him into the ropes. She whipped him across the ring and caught him with a drop toe hold. Fenryr stumbled up to his feet and was taken right back down with a tornado DDT. Fenryr rolled to his knees and shook his head as he started to climb to his feet. Sabrina caught him with a step up enziguri that caused him to take a knee. Sabrina pulled him up and delivered a reverse DDT. Fenryr started to climb to his feet and Sabrina grabbed him again before she jumped with a headscissors takedown that hung him up on the middle ropes. She looked for the Blue Light Special (619) but Adams grabbed her feet as she started to swing and pulled her to the apron from the outside. He pulled her off the apron and pushed her away and slid into the ring. He tried to roll up Fenryr with a school boy but only got one as Fenryr kicked out.
Nick Webb: Did you catch AJ refusing to hit Sabrina?
Rayne: That’ll come back to bite him in the butt, just you wait.
Fenryr got to his feet with ease and tossed Adams to the outside of the ring. Sabrina jumped to the apron and Fenryr knocked her off with a shoulder block. He climbed out of the ring and grabbed Adams before smashing his head off the steel steps. Sabrina charged and was lifted onto Fenryr’s shoulder and he drove her into the barricade back first.
Nick Webb: Don’t forget that under triple threat rules there’s no count outs, there’s no disqualifications, and the only way this match ends is in the ring with a pinfall or submission.
Fenryr grabbed Sabrina and lifted her up and dropped her gut first onto the barricade. Adams was coming to as Fenryr approached him and AJ punched him in the gut. Adams landed a knee to the side of Fenryr’s head and rolled him into the ring. Adams followed after him and locked in an anklelock on Fenryr. Fenryr tried to make it to the ropes but Adams kept pulling him to the center of the ring. Scott came flying off the top ropes and hit AJ with a flying side kick to the jaw. Adams fell to a knee as he rolled away. Sabrina looked for the Alley-Oop (Lionsault) on Fenryr but he rolled out of the way and she landed on her feet. Fenryr charged and dropped her with the Maul (Double Axe Handle). Fenryr turned and was pulled into position for the Legacy Maker (Sister Abigail) but AJ but Fenryr broke free. Fenryr grabbed AJ from behind in a full nelson and delivered the Gravedigger (Full Nelson Legsweep Faceplant). Fenryr covered and got two before Sabrina pulled him off. Sabrina looked for a small package and got a two count as Fenryr kicked out. They both rolled to their feet and Sabrina hit another headscissor takedown that hung him up on the second ropes. Sabrina charged and hit Fenryr with the Blue Light Special. She covered and got two before Adams pulled her off. He jumped onto Fenryr and got two before Sabrina pulled him off. Adams and Scott stood face to face and began to shout at each other as Fenryr crawled away. Adams said something to Scott that caused her to slap him hard. They both turned and were leveled by clotheslines by Fenryr. Fenryr grabbed Scott and delivered Hel Road (Double Underhook Powerbomb).
Nick Webb: This might be it! Fenryr is looking at the prize!
Scott rolled out to the apron as Fenryr turned to Adams. Adams got to his feet and popped up with the Last Call (Codebreaker) out of nowhere. Adams covered but only got two as Fenryr once again kicked out. Adams couldn’t believe it as he stomped around, frustrated. Fenryr climbed to his feet and Adams lifted him for a GTS but Fenryr slipped behind him. Fenryr delivered another Gravedigger on Adams. Fenryr looked for a cover but Adams started to roll out of the ring. Fenryr scrambled after him but couldn’t reach him. Fenryr stood and Sabrina came out of nowhere and hit the Pocketful of Sunshine (Codebreaker to back of opponent’s head). She covered Fenryr as the fans counted along and got a near three as Fenryr kicked out at the last moment. She made her way to the top ropes and dove, connecting with the Sonic Rainboom (Red Arrow) as the fans popped. The fans all count and just before three, AJ comes flying across the ring and smashed the BWF World Championship off the back of Sabrina’s head to break the pin. The fans were livid and began to boo as Adams dropped the title. He pulled Fenryr into position and delivered the Legacy Maker onto the title! He covered Fenryr and the boos drowned out the referee making the pinfall for three.
WINNER AND STILL BWF WORLD CHAMPION: AJ Adams, via pinfall [27:24]
Nick Webb: AJ Adams is a piece of garbage!
Rayne: AJ Adams is a genius!
Nick Webb: Sabrina was a heartbeat away from becoming the new BWF World Champion.
Rayne: And AJ had enough of treating her like a child and did what any real champion would do. He did what he needed to retain here tonight and it serves Sabrina right!
AJ grabbed the title and held it high as Sabrina started to come to. She rolled to her knees and he blasted her with another shot to the face with the title as the fans roared in boos. She fell backwards as she started to bleed. He mounted her and pushed the title in her face as he shouted at no one in particular “No one thought I could do it. I’m the greatest BWF Champion in history!”
Nick Webb: Oh come on. Someone end this.
Adams pulled Scott to her feet and had her in position for the Legacy Maker and shouted “Welcome to my legacy” and dropped her to the mat. Referees rushed the ring and stood behind him and Sabrina as he grabbed the title and jumped out of the ring.
Nick Webb: AJ Adams has just become public enemy number one.
Rayne: Again! This is the AJ that we all know and love to hate and hate to love! AJ is looking out for number one, himself.
Nick Webb: For my broadcast partner we thank you for tuning into WrestleFest IX!
We get a final shot of AJ on the ramp with the title over his shoulder as we fade away.
© Blazenwing Wrestling Federation 2016
