Gauntlet Run - November 30, 2015
A small video package played that highlighted the past few weeks of the back and forth between David Slayton, Jonathan Fhenix, and Duncan Aries up to tonight’s tag team match after showing Elena Simonova returning. We then got a package showing how we got to tonight International Championship scramble that faded into Sabrina Scott and Allen Chaney exchanging blows. We then got a quick shot of EW superstars Billy Way and The Notch in a heated battle that then went into EW’s Calypso attacking BWF World Champion AJ Adams. A brief flash of a handful of superstars were shown before we saw an empty ring and a voice saying “Thirty superstars will enter. Only one sole survivor will punch their ticket to WrestleFest IX’s main event” and the camera panned around the full arena in the famous Madison Square Garden and we went ringside.
Nick Webb: Welcome everyone to the legendary Madison Square Garden in New York City. It’s one of the biggest nights in BWF each year, Gauntlet Run! Tonight, one lucky superstar will guarantee themselves a BWF World Championship match at WrestleFest IX.
Rayne: Thirty enter and only one walks out. There have been some great winners in the past, I can’t wait to see what happens tonight.
Nick Webb: Also on tap we’ll find out who Emily Corlen has picked as her partner tonight to take on the team of T.K.O. A lot of tension has been building up between Emily and Kristy Jackson. And even some with Kristy and her own partner, Omen IV.
Rayne: You want to talk tension, Nick? How about the tension between Brianna Park and Kaito Hirano? Brianna is out to make a statement and wants to do so by tearing down Kaito.
Nick Webb: That rematch has all the making of a classic. Park and Kaito each hold a win over each other. Kaito’s recent win was via a disqualification however so Brianna still holds the title that she won from him last month. Also on tap, in our co-main event, EW’s Calypso has been challenged by AJ Adams after Calypso and his follower, Tartarus, left AJ Adams beaten down multiple times over the past couple weeks. Do you think Calypso can pull off the unthinkable?
Rayne: Yes, I do. AJ has shown that at times he fails in big moments that should be easy to him. You and I both know he feels confident simply because of what he’s done and what Calypso hasn’t done and that is enough to trip him up.
Nick Webb: We shall see. AJ currently sits at 94 days as champion, the longest BWF World Championship reign since Zoe Cooper’s 105 day reign from July 30, 2014 to November 12, 2014. It’s actually the 5th longest BWF World Championship reign in history. From what I’ve learned about Calypso from EW’s Scott Parker and Gemma Foster, he would love to spoil that and create disorder in BWF.
Rayne: Can’t wait.
Nick Webb: But first, we have a special match ready to kick things off. Since BWF is in the home city of EW, it’s time for a EW Heavyweight Championship match!
The fans cheer loudly for The Notch as he made his way to the ring with the EW Heavyweight Championship. He has a big smile on his face as he looked around the sold out arena. He quickly turned his attention to the ramp as Billy Way was announced and entered the ring. The title was raised high and handed off as the bell sounded to get the night underway. Notch and Way shared a few words that didn’t seem pleasant and then locked up. Notch hit two quick forearms to the face of Way before sending him into the ropes. Way ducked a clothesline and hit the far ropes before coming back. Notch leaped over Way as he ducked down again. Way hit the ropes once again and ran into a hip toss from Notch. Way rolled to his feet and caught a running Notch with a big boot. Notch staggered and was lifted and dropped with Way’s Nutcracker (Reverse Atomic Drop). Notch fell to a knee and was driven to the mat with a DDT from Way. Way rolled Notch into a cover but only got a one count. Way quickly covered again and hooked a leg, once again getting one. Way covered a third time and just about got a two. He covered again and hooked both legs and Notch kicked out with authority. Notch rolled to his knees and charged, leapt at Way, and hit a flipping lariat. They both rolled to their feet and Notch caught Way with a crescent kick to the face. Notch pulled Way to his feet and hit him with a European uppercut that was followed with a standing dropkick. Notch covered and got a two count before Way kicked out. Way was pulled to his feet and sent into the corner. Notch charged and hit a big corner splash that caused Way to stagger out. Notch looked for the two handed bulldog but Way ducked and Notch missed.
Nick Webb: That dodge is the product of Billy Way knowing Notch so well that he felt it coming.
Rayne: Great back and forth here so far.
Notch turned around and was hit by Way’s Feel This (Corkscrew Flying Forearm Smash). Way pulled Notch to his feet and locked in an abdominal stretch that he modified into the Grip of Reality (Vice Grip to stomach). Way was in a lot of pain but eventually was able to turn himself just enough to hit Way with a hip toss. Way rolled to his feet and charged and looked for a spear but Notch dodged and sent him into the corner. Way hit hard and staggered out as Notch hit him with a kick to the gut that was followed by Remember the Name (Edgecution). Notch rolled Way into a cover but could only get two. Notch couldn’t believe it and started to climb to the top ropes. He looked for a flying crossbody as Way stood and connected but Way rolled through and to his feet. Notch was on his knees and Way hit him with the Billion Dollar Kick (Roundhouse Kick). Way fell onto Notch for the cover but Notch kicked out just before three. Way looked around in disbelief as the fans cheered Notch on. Notch slowly climbed to his feet and had to quickly duck a second Billion Dollar Kick. Way spun on the miss and took a kick to the gut and Notch hit the N Factor (X-Factor). Notch went to crawl over to Way for a cover but Way smartly rolled out of the ring.
Rayne: Notch had the match won there.
Nick Webb: Great ring presence by Billy Way to roll out of the ring.
Notch climbed to his feet as Way crawled to the announcers table. Way was up and Notch was soon flying over the top rope with a corkscrew plancha! Both men were down and slow to get up. Notch was up first as the referee began his count to ten. Notch pulled Way up and smashed his head onto the table. Notch went for a second but Way countered with a head smash of his own and rolled Notch onto the table. The referee was at the count of four as Way climbed the table and pulled Notch up. Notch hit a forearm to Way and then the West Sider (Fisherman DDT) but the table didn’t break and Way bounced off. Notch saw the referee at the count of seven and rolled in and back out of the ring to reset the count as the referee told Notch to bring it back inside. Way rolled off the table and Notch started to pull him to his feet but was pushed backwards into the steel steps. Notch hit hard and both men were slowly moving. Way grabbed Notch and lifted him for a suplex and dropped him face first onto the table that once again didn’t break. Way pulled Notch halfway off the table so his head and chest were no longer on the table. Way jumped onto the table and hit a modified standing version of Way of the Future (Shooting Star Legdrop) onto the back of Notch’s head! Both men were down as Way crawled towards the ring. He rolled into the ring as the referee called for the bell.
WINNER: Billy Way, via countout 19:54; STILL EW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION, THE NOTCH
Nick Webb: What a match!
Rayne: EW gets to see action like that? These two put on one hell of a match tonight under the big lights Billy Way won but the title can’t change hands on the countout and I think he realizes that.
Billy Way was coming to and saw Notch on the outside of the ring and the referee trying to raise his hand in victory. Way pulled it away as Notch was being tended to and a trainer also checked on Way due to the West Sider on the table. Way held onto his neck and rolled out of the ring as Notch sat up and was handed the title.
Rayne: There’s no way things are over between these two.
Nick Webb: I’m sure the next match might be just as tightly contested. Sabrina Scott and Allen Chaney are ready to go and we’re guaranteed no count-outs in this one. After their November 9th meeting ended in a double countout this match has been set to be falls count anywhere.
Rayne: I can’t help but wonder where Sabrina and AJ are after last week and she left him high and dry and forced him into a handicap match. We haven’t heard anything from either of them on the situation.
Nick Webb: My source says that Sabrina refuses to take any of AJ’s calls. Things do not look good for the couple to say the least.
The two competitors once again stood off in the middle of the ring and circled around each other, similar to how they did back on November 9th. The fans were buzzing as the two locked up and Chaney pushed Scott down with ease. She rolled backwards to her feet and squared herself up. Chaney approached and took a kick to the left leg from Scott. Scott looked for a step-up enziguri but Chaney ducked her kick aimed for his head. Scott landed on her foot and flipped, connecting with a kick to the jaw of Chaney. Both competitors climbed to their feet and Chaney wiped his jaw and grabbed Scott soon after. He drove his knee into her gut that was followed by a gutwrench suplex. He rolled over and pulled Scott right back up and this time lifted her for a vertical suplex. Chaney pulled Scott up and sent her into the corner with a hard whip. He jumped to the second ropes and began to land hard punches until he hit ten of them. He jumped down and Scott staggered out of the corner and into a bionic elbow that dropped her hard. Chaney covered Scott but could only barely get a two count. He started to pull her up and she pushed him away. He began to charge and was taken down with a drop toe hold that hung him up on the middle ropes. She ran the ropes and came back and connected with the Blue Lights Special (619) that sent Chaney backwards. Scott positioned herself on the apron and waited for Chaney to stand. She springboarded into the ring and looked for Seeing Stars (Springboarded Colliding Headbutt) but Chaney dropped her with a discus clothesline that turned her inside out. Chaney pulled Scott up and positioned her for the Set Up (Double Arm DDT) but she was able to spin away. She grabbed Chaney and looked for a small package but only got a two count. Chaney popped to his feet and charged Scott as she stood and hit the cactus clothesline that sent them both over the top ropes.
Nick Webb: A closely fought bout so far as I had no doubt it would be. Allen and Chaney continue to go back and forth here.
Rayne: These strong blows from Allen are going to quickly wear Sabrina down. She needs to use her quickness if she has any chance of pulling this thing off.
Chaney climbed to his feet and pulled Scott up to hers before tossing her back first into the barricade. Chaney went to grab Scott but she pulled him down with a drop toe hold and he went right into the barricade. Scott jumped onto the barricade and jumped off it, hitting Seeing Stars on the outside. Both were staggered but Scott quickly came to and hit a tornado DDT on the floor. Scott rolled Chaney into a cover on the outside and the referee was there but Chaney kicked out just before three. Scott pulled Chaney up and he pushed her into the apron, forcing her to grab her back, allowing Chaney to hit her with a bionic elbow. He rolled her into the ring and he followed after her. Chaney pulled Scott up and had her in position and hit the Set Up! Chaney rolled into a cover with the hook of a leg but Scott kicked out after two. Chaney called for the Punchline (Package Piledriver) and started to set up for it but Scott slipped between his legs and behind him. She jumped up and hit Pocketful of Sunshine (Codebreaker to back of opponent’s head). Scott rolled herself onto Chaney for a cover and Chaney kicked out at the last moment possible.
Rayne: Wow! I can’t believe that Allen just kicked out of the Pocketful of Sunshine after those blows to the head.
Nick Webb: What does Sabrina have in mind now?
Scott looked at the turnbuckle and started to make her way up to the top, looking at the downed Chaney. She positioned herself and jumped, looking for the Sonic Rainboom (Red Arrow) but Chaney rolled out of the way! Both were slow to their feet and Chaney was up first. Chaney looked for a lariat but Scott ducked. Chaney spun around and took a superkick to the jaw that dropped him to the mat. Scott fell into the corner and pulled herself to the top quickly and looked for the Sonic Rainboom again and this time connected! She covered and picked up the win.
WINNER: Sabrina Scott, via pinfall 15:22
Nick Webb: Sabrina just defeated Allen Chaney!
Rayne: This is a big win for Sabrina and she showed the world that she can hang with the big boys in this one.
Sabrina Scott slowly pulled herself to her feet using the ropes and celebrated her victory. Allen Chaney started to come to and was to his feet. Scott’s music dies down as it looks like we’re about to see a post match fight but Chaney offers a handshake to Scott. Scott thinks it over and accepts. Chaney keeps the handshake short and pulls away and exits the ring.
Rayne: I was not expecting that at all.
The referee holds the Tag Team Titles high before handing them off. It looks like Torres and Erwin were going to go first for their teams and they come to blows in the center of the ring. Erwin hit Torres with a jawbreaker that was followed with a lariat that caused Torres to back into the corner. Erwin made the tag to Damian and they hit a double flapjack on Torres. Torres climbed to his feet and hit Damian with a big boot as he charged. Damian staggered and was hit with a scoop slam. Damian climbed to his feet and was lifted for Torres’ Boyle Heights Beat (Big Ending) but Damian slipped behind Torres. Damian looked for a German suplex but took a hard elbow to the side of the head. Torres tagged out to Perez and they looked for a double clothesline after they sent Damian into the ropes but Damian ducked. Damian hit Torres with a belly to back suplex and rolled to his feet. Perez was there with a running dropkick to the chest. Damian went hard into the corner and fell to the mat into a seated position. Perez charged and hit a running dropkick to the face of Damian in the corner. Perez pulled Damian up and hit the Green-Lighted (Jumping Complete Shot). Perez went for a cover but Erwin broke it up. Perez made the tag to Torres and they hit a double suplex.
Rayne: Not looking good for Queen’s Soldiers right now. Damian needs to make a tag soon.
Damian crawled to his feet and Torres looked for the Chimuelo (Superman Punch) but Damian dodged it. Damian hit a belly to back suplex that allowed him to slowly crawl to his corner for a tag. Erwin entered and hit the ropes and rocked Torres with a spear as he stood. Torres staggered to his feet and was hit with Erwin’s Malicious Punch (Discus Punch)! Torres staggered and Perez reached in and made a tag. Perez entered and had to duck under the Malicious Punch and he ran to the other side and clotheslined Damian off the apron and Damian went flying into the barricade. Perez turned and was hit with a running high knee from Erwin. Erwin pulled Perez to his feet and set up for the Stack Bundles (Double Underhook Facebuster) but Perez flipped him over his back Erwin landed on his feet but was rocked with Torres in the ring and hitting the Chimuelo. Erwin staggered and turned into Perez’s Welcome to the Valley (Judgement Slam) and Perez covered for the win.
WINNERS AND STILL BWF TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: The 323, via pinfall 12:47
Nick Webb: And The 323 continue to run through the tag division. They now sit tied for the longest Tag Team Championship reign to start in the year 2015. They of course still have a long, long way to go to catch the Justicars reign from last year.
Rayne: With the Justicars now in line for a Trios Championship match with Jay I wonder who can step up against The 323.
We get a shot of The 323 exiting the ring with the titles over their shoulders.
Nick Webb: But now we’re set for the Sovereign Championship match. We got to this point when it all started at Heatwave. Kaito Hirano walked out of the event as the winner of BWF’s first Ultimate X match which won him the Sovereign Title. Brianna Park left the event furious after losing her chance to become number one contender for the BWF World Championship once again. Fast forward a month to Retribution, Tokyo, and Kaito was home and received a hero’s welcome. Park took exception, saying she’s Asia’s real hero. Kaito walked out of the night retaining after pinning Kurt Hullum and Brianna once again left furious after she fell short in that match. Then at Wreckless we saw Park finally win and defeat Kaito for his championship. A rematch two weeks ago at a special AXW show saw Brianna getting disqualified and now here we are.
The two competitors met in the center of the ring as the Sovereign Championship was held up in front of them. As soon as the bell sounded Hirano caught Park with a spinning back kick that connected right in her gut. Park doubled over and was hit with a lifting knee that caused her to stagger. Hirano went to charge and ran into a hard forearm smash to the face. Park hit Hirano with an overhead chop before flipping him down with an arm drag. She applied her knee into the shoulder of Hirano and pulled on his arm. Hirano was able to slip away after a few moments and rolled up to his feet. Park quickly grabbed Hirano and applied an abdominal stretch but Hirano quickly flipped her over with a hip toss. Park climbed up to her feet and was hit with an European uppercut. Hirano grabbed Park’s arm and took her down with a cross arm neckbreaker and rolled into a cover for just two. Hirano pulled Park up and pushed her into the corner. Hirano landed a few kicks to the midsection of Park. He grabbed Park and she turned him around into the corner. She jumped up and started to land hard punches to the head of Hirano. Hirano pushed her off and came out of the corner with a hard clothesline. Hirano pulled Park up and positioned himself behind her. He grabbed her and connected with a blue thunder bomb and looked for the cover but only got two. Park climbed to her feet and ducked under a kick aimed for her head. Park connected with a kick to the side of Hirano before connecting with one to his gut. Park swung a kick up into the chest of Hirano and pulled him into a DDT and drove him to the mat. Park climbed onto Hirano and connected with forearms to his face before pulling him to his feet. She sent him into the corner with a whip and followed with a corner splash. Park set Hirano up into the tree of woe position and shouted at him and stomped on him. She took a few steps back and connected with the God Bless Korea (Dropkick to Tree of Woe Opponent). Park pulled Hirano out of the corner and covered and Hirano kicked out at two.
Nick Webb: Back and forth we go.
Rayne: Park with a bit of a mean streak right now.
Park climbed back onto Hirano and grabbed his head and hit hard forearms to the face. She was forced to break after Hirano was able to get his foot on the bottom rope. She jumped to her feet and jumped up and down and urged Hirano to stand. He rolled to his knees and took a hard shoot style kick to the chest. She hit a second and Hirano had to duck a third. He looked for a belly to back suplex but Park flipped behind him and landed on her feet. She swung around him and looked for the Mental Breakdown (Christo) but Hirano dropped her with a side slam. Park staggered to her feet as Hirano was to his and readied. She turned and was rocked with a tornado kick that dropped her. Park hit the mat and stumbled to her feet and Hirano grabbed her and connected with Saigo no Josha (Fisherman Driver). He rolled her into a cover but could only get two.
Nick Webb: Kaito was so close to being a two time Sovereign Champion.
Rayne: He has her on the ropes!
Hirano stumbled into the corner and waited for Park to start getting up. He pulled back on the ropes as Park rolled to her knees. He charged and hit Yoi Yume O (Running Knee to Knelt Opponent). Hirano dropped to a knee and grabbed Park before slowly pulling her up. He lifted her onto his shoulders but Park twisted into a tornado DDT that planted him into the mat. Both competitors were down and slow to move. The referee began to count to ten as they stirred. Park was up to her knees first and leaned against the ropes. Hirano was to his feet and Park dug deep and hit him with a front dropkick. She laid on the mat for a few seconds before kipping up to her feet and stood near Hirano. He started to climb up and hard to duck a buzzsaw kick. He lifted her onto his shoulders and called for the Oyasumi (Fireman’s Carry Overhead Kick) but Park was close enough to the ropes to grab them. He tried to pull her away but she held on tight. She twisted and pulled him down and connected with a modified Seoul Food (Eat Defeat). She crawled slowly onto Hirano and picked up the three count for the win.
WINNER AND STILL BWF SOVEREIGN CHAMPION: Brianna Park, via pinfall 18:51
Brianna Park crawled to her feet and snatched her championship from the hands of the referee and shouted at Kaito Hirano after the match.
Rayne: Kaito comes up short once again.
Nick Webb: That was a great counter by Brianna to end this match tonight. She may not be the “true hero of Asia” to many but she’s the BWF Sovereign Champion and there’s no disputing that.
Now Airing Only on the BWF Network
AXW Episode #28!
T.K.O. makes their entrance first as a team, followed by Emily Corlen, who gets a surprisingly strong reaction from the Madison Square Garden crowd. As T.K.O. watches in the ring, Emily stops at the foot of the ramp and waits as her music fades.
Nick Webb: Well, here we go. Who is Emily’s mystery partner going to be?
Rayne: Jester the Clown! Ooh! Nick Pickle$! OOH! BOX OF CHEERIOS!
Nick Webb: I still can’t believe that was ever a real thing.
Rayne: At least he wrestled, unlike a certain STUPID STUFFED SKUNK!
As the crowd waits with bated breath, the lights in the arena all cut out, prompting a big pop from the audience. Several seconds pass with nothing happening, until finally, the BlazenTron comes to life as a siren starts blaring a “NEW CHALLENGER APPROACHING” flashes across the screen ala Super Smash Bros. As that fades, this begins playing:
As the guitar riffs hit at :17, the screen lights up with the words “SUPER SMASH SISTERS” and a spotlight hits the stage, revealing none other than AXW’s new Xperience Champion and BWF Hall of Famer “Stutterfly” Starla Gardevoir!
Nick Webb: No way! It’s Starla Gardevoir!
Rayne: BUT I WANTED BOX OF CHEERIOS!
As Breaking Benjamin’s “Blow Me Away” continues playing, the arena lights come back up and Starla winks at the fans before making her way down the ramp. As she meets Emily at ringside, the two hug before removing their jackets to reveal matching Super Smash Sisters t-shirts. They say something inaudibly to one another, and then take a running charge into the ring, starting a brawl with Omen IV and Kristy Jackson as the bell rings!
Emily and Starla quickly gain the upper hand on Omen and Kristy as the referee tries to maintain order, finally getting both Emily and Kristy back to their corners. Starla quickly lays into Omen, backing him up into the corner and hitting several stiff punches and kicks before running to the other side of the ring and charging. Unfortunately for her, Omen moves at the last second, leaving Starla to ram into the pole hard with her shoulder!
Nick Webb: Oof! Not the way Starla wanted to return to BWF, that’s for sure.
Rayne: Hey, you know what would be funny?
Nick Webb: Dare I ask?
Rayne: Get someone in the sound truck to cue up the Mario sound effect of losing his bigger status and becoming small Mario every time Starla takes a nasty hit in the ring.
Nick Webb: Because that wouldn’t get annoying.
Rayne: And play the death sound effect from Mario whenever she gets pinned! HA!
Omen runs across the ring and does a flip onto Starla, before going for the cover and getting only 2. Kristy stands on the apron, yelling for Omen to tag her in, but the luchador seems to be ignoring her as he continues to work on Starla. The pink-haired heroine starts to fight back as Omen goes for an armbar, though, and gets back to her feet before catching Omen with a Double Tilt-a-Whirl Headscissors Takeover! Omen flips across the ring and rolls toward his corner, and as he stands up, Kristy leans in and slaps him across the back, tagging herself in! Omen stares at her incredulously as she tackles Starla and lays into her with punches.
Nick Webb: I don’t think Omen IV liked that.
Rayne: Oh boo hoo. It’s a tag team match, you tag your partners, that’s what you do. I feel bad for Kristy being on a team with such a selfish guy!
As Kristy leverages her weight into a pin and a two count on Starla, Omen exits the ring and hops off the apron, heading up the ramp and shaking his head. Kristy stops her assault as she notices Omen leaving, which gives Starla enough of an opening to roll to her feet and hit Kristy with an electric chair drop! She crawls over to her corner and tags in her fellow Super Smash Sister, Emily, as the crowd pops again.
Nick Webb: Emily’s had a bone to pick with Kristy ever since Kristy cost Emily her return match against Omen IV at last month’s Wreckless pay-per-view… and now the Emerald Phoenix is finally going to get her hands on her.
Rayne: She already HAD a chance to get her hands on Kristy, and who won that? That’s right, Kristy! Let’s sit back and no doubt watch Emily screw the pooch yet again.
Indeed, as Emily approaches Kristy, the former International Champion rolls Emily up into a pin, nearly getting a three count, but Emily breaks out this time, saving the match for her team! Incensed even more now, Emily begins kicking and punching furiously, not letting Kristy so much as breathe. Emily pulls Kristy to her feet and whips her across the ring, catching her on the rebound with a Spiral Twister (Black Hole Slam)! Emily moves over to the corner, where she tags in Starla. Starla heads to the top rope and leaps off, landing on the prone Kristy with the R.R.O.D. [Red Ring of Death] (Swanton Bomb)!
Nick Webb: That’s gotta be it!
Starla could go for the cover, but instead, she stands back up, points at Emily and says “This one is ALL yours, Em!” She moves back over to the corner and tags Emily back in, who smiles and nods. Kristy is still down in the middle of the ring as Emily quickly moves over to her and picks her up into The Faith Breaker (Brock Lock)! As Emily yanks Kristy all around, the young blonde starts yelling that she gives up, forcing the ref to call for the bell!
WINNERS: Emily Corlen & Starla Gardevoir, via Submission [6:15]
“Blow Me Away” by Breaking Benjamin starts playing again as Emily lets Kristy go and the T.K.O. member rolls out of the ring as fast as she can. Starla hops into the ring and hugs Emily, and the two best friends share a happy moment as they celebrate their victory.
Nick Webb: Emily Corlen is finally triumphant once again on BWF television for the first time since last year’s Gauntlet Run event!
Rayne: And it only took another company’s Champion AND a surprise handicap situation to do it!
Nick Webb: Regardless of the circumstances, congratulations to the Super Smash Sisters on a fantastic victory!
Nick Webb: We’re ready for the championship scramble match for the International Championship!
Rayne: Xaria Linette has no advantage in this match. This is probably the worst type of match a champion can defend their title in that isn’t some sort of ladder match.
Nick Webb: The match will start with two competitors and after a 5 minute interval another competitor will enter the ring until all competitors are involved in the match, leaving us with a 20 minute time limit for the bout. Anyone can force a pin or submission and if a superstar is able to pick a pin or submission they'll be interim International Champion, which is not recognized as an official title reign. At the end of the 20 minute time limit, whichever superstar picked up the last pinfall or submission will be International Champion.
The referee had the title in hand and showed it off before handing it to Scott Benjamin on the outside. The first two in were Dagger and Johnny Maverick. The two locked up as things got underway. Maverick pushed Dagger down and drove his knee into her face that staggered her into the corner. He pulled her out to the center and connected with a vertical suplex. Maverick tried to quickly cover her but she kicked out at two. Dagger started to get to her feet and was still reeling from the knee to the face as she fell into the corner. Maverick charged and she was able to dodge a corner splash. Maverick turned, leaning against the turnbuckle, and Dagger came charging with Hither Whirling (Cornered Front Flip Dropkick). Dagger pulled Maverick to the center of the ring and applied a leg lock as he fought back to the ropes to break the hold. The BlazenTron started to count down from 5 and we got a buzz as Kurt Hullum entered. He slid into the ring and grabbed Dagger. Hullum drove his knee into the gut of Dagger and followed with a powerslam. Dagger stumbled up as Maverick started to get up slowly. Hullum hit Dagger with the Crash Landing (Snapmare Driver). Maverick was up and hit Hullum with the Tony Jaa (Jumping Knee Strike) and then dove onto Dagger for a two count. Maverick crawled over Hullum and covered but once again got two. Maverick pulled Dagger to her feet and she hit him with a jawbreaker. Hullum was up and hit Maverick with California Dreaming (Omega Driver). Dagger went to charge Hullum as he stood but he sent her shoulder first into the corner. Hullum covered Maverick and picked up a win just as the buzzer sounded for the next competitor.
Nick Webb: Kurt Hullum is the interim International Champion.
Rayne: And here comes Da Bomb!
Da Bomb charged the ring and entered quickly. Dagger snuck behind Hullum and rolled him up with a schoolgirl pin and got a three count. Dagger jumped to her feet and Da Bomb was there with a running tornado DDT. Maverick was back to his feet and lifted Da Bomb up with a fisherman suplex. Hullum was engaged in a back and forth blows with Dagger as Maverick waited for his opening. The buzzer went off and out came Xaria Linette.
Rayne: We’re down to the final 5 minutes! Dagger needs to do everything she can to make sure no one else picks up a victory and she’ll be the new International Champion.
Linette entered and was quickly involved in blows with Maverick. She ducked and charged at Hullum and hit him with the Rain-BOOM (Busaiku Knee). She rolled to her feet and hit Maverick with a running dropkick. Da Bomb was back in the ring and hit Dagger with the Bewm (Reverse Stunner) and covered as Linette was occupied with Maverick getting to his feet and she picked up an interim win.
Nick Webb: We’re down to the final two minutes!
Maverick hit the Tony Jaa on Linette and turned his attention to Hullum. Hullum was up and looked for a small package but Maverick was able to reverse into a small package of his own to pick up a win. Maverick got to his feet and was hit with Super Blinding Colors (Tilt-a-whirl DDT) by Linette and she covered and got three. Dagger grabbed Linette and started setting up for the Beyond the Wall of Sleep (Asai DDT into Double Knee Backbreaker) with time winding down. Da Bomb grabbed Hullum and looked for a backslide pin and got a pin with only 10 seconds to go. She looked around and Dagger hit her finisher on Linette and went to cover as the fans counted down from 5. Da Bomb pulled Dagger off and the referee called for the bell!
WINNER AND NEW BWF INTERNATIONAL CHAMPION: Da Bomb 20:00
Nick Webb: Da Bomb did it! She’s won her first championship in BWF!
Rayne: Dagger had Linette dead to rights but Da Bomb made sure she couldn’t get the pin in time.
Nick Webb: There’s a lot of bad blood all around in this next match up. Jonathan Fhenix and Duncan Aries despise David Slayton and think a lot of things come easy to him simply because of his name.
Rayne: I wonder if Aries and Fhenix will look to simply win the match or if they’re more concerned with proving a point tonight.
Nick Webb: Well we’re about to find out.
Aries was going to start things off against Slayton as the bell sounded. It quickly turned into a brawl between the two as they exchanged blows, forcing each other against the ropes and landing a few blows each. Aries hit a left hook, a right hook, and then drove his knee into the gut of Slayton. Slayton tackled him to the mat and started to hit left and right hands before pulling Aries to his feet. Slayton tried to lock in a crossface chickenwing but Aries spun away and took Slayton down with a Russian legsweep. Aries rose and quickly dropped an elbow onto the chest of Slayton. He pulled Slayton up and made his way to his corner for a tag to Fhenix. Fhenix was hit with a European uppercut and then a hard forearm from Slayton. Slayton sent him into the ropes and lifted him with a backdrop. Fhenix hit the mat and rolled to his feet before connecting with a step up enziguri. Slayton staggered and was able to make a tag to Simonova. Simonova jumped into the ring and came to blows with Fhenix.
Rayne: Elena hasn’t stepped foot in a BWF since Fhenix attacked her in September. She’s been waiting for this!
Elena hit a few quick punches on Fhenix before sending him into the far corner. She charged and connected with the 200 Proof (Lifting Corner Knee Strike to Monkey Flip). Fhenix hit the mat and rolled into his corner to tag in Aries. Aries entered and hit a charging Elena with a back elbow to the face. He lifted her and quickly dropped her with a sidewalk slam. He pulled her up and locked in a full nelson. Aries yelled at Slayton to pay attention and hit Elena with the San Diego Driver (Full Nelson into Wheelbarrow Facebuster). He rolled Elena into a cover but she kicked out at two. She started to mount a comeback with stiff kicks after getting to her feet. She hit Aries with a running double axe handle and finished off the Hammer and Sickle (Axe handle followed by buzzsaw kick). Elena tagged in Slayton and he prepared himself for the Full Effect (Sweet Chin Music). He looked for it as Aries stood but Aries ducked it. Aries grabbed Slayton and looked for the Ace of Spades (Crippler Crossface) but Slayton flipped and reversed into his version of the move, the Firehawk Lock and locked it in tight. Aries fought and was able to make his way to the ropes to break the hold. Slayton broke and tried to pull Aries to the center of the ring but took a kick to the jaw. Aries tagged out to Fhenix and Fhenix entered. Fhenix hit the Stock Market Crash (Sky High) and covered but Elena broke it up at two. Elena was forced out of the ring by the referee as Fhenix stalked around Slayton. Slayton was up and Fhenix looked for the Tragic Hero (RKO) but Slayton pushed him away and then hit a spiking DDT. Slayton made a tag after crawling to his corner and here came Elena. She set Fhenix up for the Reverse Psychology (C4) but Fhenix rolled her up with a schoolboy and grabbed her tights out of view of the referee and picked up a win!
WINNERS: Jonathan Fhenix and Duncan Aries, via pinfall 12:42
Rayne: Fhenix had him some Elena tights!
Nick Webb: Message sent! Fhenix just showed Dave and Elena that not everything will go their way.
Fhenix rolled out of the ring quickly and laughed as he greeted Aries. Slayton looked around unsure as to what just happened as Elena explained he had her tights. Slayton just shook his head and looked over at Fhenix laughing before we went to commercial.

You Don’t Choose Your Family
A bumper for BWF ShopZone plays, and when we return, we join David Slayton and Elena Simonova backstage, fresh off of their loss to Fhenix and Aries.
Elena Simonova: I feel awful. There’s no excuse for my –
David holds his hand up, putting a finger to Elena’s lips.
David Slayton: Shh.
Elena moves David’s finger away.
Elena Simonova: Take pride in being the only individual alive that I would allow to shush me.
David Slayton: Oh, I do.
He smirks.
David Slayton: Look, Fhenix and Aries got lucky tonight. They won with a roll-up, OOH. I’m super impressed. Whatever, so their little Alliance of Truth or whatever the blue hell they’re calling themselves got one measly win. I beat Aries when it mattered – twice. I’m still the AXW World Champion, and try as he might, he can’t change that. Plus, I get to go home with you tonight. They get, what, a pizza bagel and a cantaloupe heated up in the microwave to have sex with? I’m pretty sure we’re still the winners, Red.
Elena smiles as she leans in and kisses David.
Elena Simonova: It’s a good thing you’re cute. If we’re good, then I think I had better to get ready for the Gauntlet Run. Tonight, I become a two-time Gauntlet Run Sole Survivor and punch my ticket to the main event of WrestleFest for the third year running.
David Slayton: Yeah, I should go get ready too.
Elena raises an eyebrow, looking her boyfriend up and down.
David Slayton: …to NOT enter the Gauntlet Run. Because I won’t be. Totally.
Elena Simonova: God, you’re a terrible liar. Just watch your back out there. I’m head over heels in love with you, David Lee Slayton… but I will not hesitate to toss you out like a piece of refuse if you get between myself and the BWF World Championship.
David Slayton: Likewise, sexy pants. Just don’t punish me too much when I’m the one standing tall at the end of the night, yeah?
Elena smirks wryly.
Elena Simonova: …but I thought you liked it when I punished you.
David immediately turns red as the crowd laughs. Elena leans in for another quick kiss, and then winks at Slayton before turning around and heading towards the locker room. David shakes his head, chuckling softly, and turns to walk away… only to find himself face to face with The marVel, Gabe Shelley! The New York crowd explodes in perhaps the loudest pop of the night as Gabe looks his old tag team partner up and down. They stare at one another for a few moments before finally hugging to another pop.
David Slayton: How the hell are you, man?
Gabe Shelley: You know. Can’t really complain. Getting used to married life and all that.
David Slayton: Ha, yeah, it can be pretty fantastic.
He glances back in the direction Elena walked off toward before turning back to Gabe.
David Slayton: So, you entering the Run tonight, too? About the only thing you haven’t done in your career is win it.
Gabe Shelley: Are you forgetting that I won two Bodycount Rumbles in eWo?
David Slayton: I’ve tried to block out most of eWo, truth be told. Save for maybe the Tru ReVolution stuff. Man, we were a kickass team.
Voice: Emphasis on WERE, I assume?
Gabe and David turn their collective attention off-screen, but both find themselves smiling, as Emily Corlen and Starla Gardevoir walk up to the duo. Emily nods at her teacher, David, while Starla wraps her arms around Gabe, her husband, and kisses him passionately.
Emily Corlen: Pay-per-view indeed. Damn, girl! Take a breath!
Starla lets go and grins, slapping Gabe’s ass.
Gabe Shelley: Great win out there tonight, ladies.
Emily Corlen: I’d say the same, but… that would require you actually winning. What’s going on, Dave? You losing your touch?
David Slayton: One loss doesn’t matter.
Emily Corlen: Whatever you need to tell yourself to get to sleep at night, grandpa.
There’s a moment of purposely awkward silence before all four bust out laughing.
David Slayton: Smartass.
Emily Corlen: Better to be a smartass than a dumbass. You taught me that!
Gabe Shelley: Wouldn’t that require Dave not be a dumbass first?
Starla smacks Gabe’s arm playfully.
Starla Gardevoir: Be nice!
The four laugh again before Emily pipes up.
Emily Corlen: So, I have a proposition for you old-timers. Provided none of us win the Gauntlet Run tonight…
Gabe Shelley: Not competing.
Starla Gardevoir: Me neither.
Emily Corlen: How come?
Starla Gardevoir & Gabe Shelley: (in unison) Fallout 4.
Emily laughs.
Emily Corlen: Alright then, so if neither Dave or I wins the Gauntlet Run… let’s have a match at WrestleFest. Just the four of us. A Tag Team Match.
Gabe Shelley: Me and Katie versus you and Dave?
Starla Gardevoir: HELL no! I wanna kick your ass, babe!
Gabe Shelley: …what?
Emily Corlen: For the first and maybe last time ever… The Super Smash Sisters versus Tru ReVolution live at WrestleFest IX on December 31.
The crowd pops as Starla puts her arm around Emily.
Starla Gardevoir: Y’know… unless you’re scaaaaaaaared... scrubs.
David Slayton: I’m game if Gabe’s game. What do you say, Mad Dogg? You up for a little Good Housekeeping on these scrubs?
Gabe Shelley: …dude, that’s my WIFE…
David Slayton: Oh, what, so it’s okay when they say it?
Gabe Shelley: …good point. Hell yeah, you’re on!
The crowd pops again.
Emily Corlen: Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a Gauntlet Run to go win. We can always move the tag match to an episode of Havok, worst case. Or maybe AXW?
She winks as she heads off-screen. David shakes his head as Starla kisses Gabe’s cheek.
David Slayton: I’ll see you two crazy kids later. Em’s not the only one with a Gauntlet Run to win.
Slayton slaps Gabe on the back and gives Starla a quick hug before following Emily off-screen. Gabe chuckles as he reaches into his jacket pocket and produces a New 3DS, handing it to Starla.
Gabe Shelley: Milady.
Starla squees and grabs the system.
Starla Gardevoir: I’m going to have all of your babies.
Gabe Shelley: After you’re done in AXW, I assume.
Starla looks up at Gabe.
Starla Gardevoir: …huh?
She turns the system on and walks off, leaving Gabe behind.
Gabe Shelley: …just HAD to marry the crazy gamer chick, didn’t you?
He shakes his head and smiles as the crowd laughs and we finally cut back to ringside.
Nick Webb: Here we are folks. AJ Adams issued the challenge two weeks ago on Twitter and it was granted to him by the Wyatts.
Rayne: Can you imagine if AJ fails and Calypso, a superstar in EW, walks out the BWF World Champion? That would be huge!
Nick Webb: It very well could happen. Tartarus is joining Calypso at ringside and the numbers game may put them at an advantage if it keeps AJ distracted.
The fans welcomed Adams with a loud cheer and he made his way down. He handed off the BWF World Championship as Scott Benjamin made the announcement of the title match. Calypso talked to Tartarus on the outside as the bell sounded to get the match underway. Calypso turned and started talking to Adams and laughed. Adams dropped him with a right hand and Calypso popped right up off the mat. Calypso met Adams with a right hand of his own and followed it with a hard headbutt. Adams pushed Calypso into the ropes and drove his knee into his gut. Calypso was leaned over before being sent into the ropes and hit with a powerslam on the return. Adams mounted Calypso and struck him with left and right hands. Adams pulled Calypso to his feet and hit a vertical suplex before climbing back up. He took a few steps back and waited to Calypso to stand. Adams went to charge and Tartarus grabbed his foot without the referee seeing and Adams stumbled. Calypso dropped Adams with a running headbutt. Adams rolled to his feet and was then sent into the corner. Calypso charged and connected with the Baptism (Stinger Splash). He followed it up right away with Re-Education (Flurry of stomach punches to cornered opponent). Calypso sent Adams into the far opposite corner and quickly charged, hitting another Baptism. Adams stumbled around the ring and Calypso hit the ropes and looked for To the 3rd Power (Clothesline From Hell) but Adams ducked it. Adams spun Calypso around and dropped him with the Last Call (Codebreaker). Adams rolled into a cover but Tartarus pulled him off and to the outside and quickly walked away. The referee warned Tartarus and Adams to stay away from each other.
Nick Webb: And there’s the numbers game coming into play. Tartarus just helped Calypso stay in this match.
Rayne: Calypso had AJ backing up. If he can get back to the quick strikes he might be able to pull off an upset.
Adams rolled back into the ring and Calypso was getting to his feet. Adams locked up with him and hit a vertical suplex. He swung his legs up and pulled Calypso up and went right into a second suplex. Adams pulled Calypso back to his feet and hit the third for the trifecta suplex. Adams started to climb the nearest turnbuckle and positioned himself. Tartarus acted as if he was going to get on the apron and distracted Adams just long enough for Calypso to get to his feet and rush the ropes, knocking Adams’ footing off. Adams was hung up on the top ropes as Calypso climbed to the second ropes. Calypso grabbed Adams and hit a suplex off the top rope! Both men were down but Calypso crawled over to Adams and covered, just getting two. Adams started to get to his knees and Calypso was up. Calypso hit the ropes and rocked Adams with To the 3rd Power! He covered and Adams kicked out just before three to the cheers of the fans. They started to get behind Adams as he started to get to his feet and was fired up now. Calypso charged and Adams dodged. Calypso looked for a kick but Adams caught it and flipped him to his stomach and locked in an ankle lock. Tartarus jumped to the apron and Adams broke, charging, and knocked Tartarus off the apron and into the barricade.
Rayne: AJ had enough of that!
Tartarus shook it off quickly and charged the ring. He went after Adams but Adams hit him with the Last Call and Tartarus went rolling out of the ring. Adams turned and grabbed Calypso and looked for the Legacy Maker (Sister Abigail) but Calypso spun away. He looked for another To the 3rd Power as he came off the ropes and Adams ducked it. Adams grabbed Calypso from behind and locked in the Lights Out (Tazzmission)! He dropped to his side and pulled Calypso down and Calypso quickly faded and the referee called for the bell!
WINNER AND STILL BWF WORLD CHAMPION: AJ Adams, via TKO 20:11
Nick Webb: Lights out!
Rayne: AJ just put away Calypso and the 3rd Power.
Adams broke the hold as Calypso laid out cold and he was handed the BWF World Championship. He held it up and looked around the arena and soaked in the cheers before heading to the back.
Coming Soon to the BWF Network
ON A SPECIAL NIGHT!
Thursday, December 31, 2015
Nick Webb: WrestleFest will once again be coming to you LIVE and only on the BWF Network on New Year’s Eve!
Rayne: Nine big ones, Nick!
Nick Webb: We know that AJ Adams is going to be defending the BWF World Championship at WrestleFest IX but now it’s time to find out who it’ll be against. It’s time for the 2015 Gauntlet Run! For those new, a new competitor will enter the ring every 90 seconds. The only way to be eliminated is to be sent over the top ropes and have both feet touch the ground. The final one standing will be crowned the Sole Survivor of the Gauntlet Run.
Rayne: Who’s the unlucky SOB that has to start things off?
The fans are excited for the Gauntlet Run to start as they are loud and ready to go.
Nick Webb: It’s Kurt Hullum! He was close to becoming the new BWF International Champion earlier tonight. This is a big opportunity for Kurt as he continues to grow as a great competitor here in BWF. Who picked number 2!?
Rayne: Number 2! GET IT!? Danny Hall drew number 2!
Nick Webb: And it looks like we’ll see the small rivalry of Danny and Kurt renewed to start things off.
The bell sounded as the match began. Hall and Hullum tied up and forced each other towards the ropes. Hall tried to push Hullum over the top but Hullum began to fight back and got Hall pushed away. Hullum hit Hall with a clothesline and pulled him back to his feet. Hullum proceeded to connect with a suplex on Hall and started to pull him towards the ropes. Hall was to his feet and Hullum tried to send him up and over but Hall hugged the top ropes and didn’t allow himself to go over. Hullum kicked at Hall and kept trying but Hall refused to let go. The fans started to count down as we approached the third entrant.
Dagger made her way to the ring and started to attack Hullum which allowed Hall to drop to the mat.
Nick Webb: We saw Dagger pin Kurt earlier tonight which gave her interim International Champion status but it slipped away from both of them at one point.
Hullum clubbed Dagger with an axehandle smash and she rolled to her feet. She charged and hit Hullum with a dropkick that sent him near the ropes. Hall jumped up and tried to lift Hullum over but Hullum held on and shifted his weight. Dagger came over and tried to help Hall briefly and they got him over the top but he held on as he laid on the apron. They tried to push him off with their feet but Hullum has his legs vined around the ropes. The counter started again as we got entrant number four.
Johnny Maverick charged the ring and had his eyes set on Danny Hall as Hall backed away from Hullum.
Rayne: Johnny has a target on Danny! Run, Danny Boy!
Maverick slid into the ring and speared Hall to the mat. They rolled to their feet as Hullum rolled back into the ring and began fighting back and forth with Dagger. Hall hit Maverick with a headbutt that staggered both of them. Hall went off the ropes and ran right into the Tony Jaa (Jumping Knee Strike). Hall hit the mat hard and Maverick quickly pulled him up. Hall hit Maverick with an European uppercut and stumbled backwards into the ropes. Maverick charged and hit Hall with the OF!MF! (Running Shotei) that sent Hall up and over the top ropes and to the floor below.
ELIMINATED: Danny Hall
Rayne: And we have our first elimination of the night!
Nick Webb: Just in time for entrant number five!
Lewis made his way to the ring climbed inside. Dagger was dangerously close to being pushed out by Hullum on the far side. Maverick and Lewis locked up and exchanged a few blows before Lewis hit a jawbreaker. Maverick staggered and Lewis hit a step up enziguri that caused Maverick to fall backwards and over the top rope but he hung on and landed on the apron. Dagger slipped away from Hullum and got to her feet. He pushed her into the corner and Lewis came over and grabbed him from behind, dropping him with a reverse DDT. The counter began and we reached our sixth entrant.
Luke Mathews charged down after Lewis to a pop from the fans and they came to blows. Maverick was back to his feet and found himself engaged in trying to push Dagger over the top ropes. Hullum came over and joined in trying to help but she wrapped her legs around the top ropes near the turnbuckle and held on tight. Mathews was taken down by Lewis hitting a belly to back suplex. Lewis made some room and looked for Rolling Kumquats (Rolling Thunder) but Mathews got his knees up as we got closer to the seventh entrant.
Nick Webb: That’s EW’s Derrick Daze!
Rayne: How in the world did he get into this thing!?
Daze made his way down and we saw Lewis back to his feet with Mathews. Lewis looked for a crossbody but Mathews caught him and lifted him to his shoulders. He got near the ropes and sent him over the top with Heaven’s Whisper (Wastedland).
ELIMINATED: Ryan Lewis
Dagger was back into the ring and was fighting with Hullum once again. Maverick and Daze locked up to the delight of the fans and Daze locked in a side headlock. Maverick lifted and dropped Daze with a belly to back suplex. Dagger was hit with Mathews coming over with a clothesline as the counter reached zero.
Jay Blazenwing was fired up as he made his way down the ramp and into the ring. Dagger went for Daze and he turned, grabbed her, and sent her up and over the top rope and to the floor below without missing a beat.
ELIMINATED: Dagger
Rayne: And out goes Dagger!
Nick Webb: That’s three dreams dashed here in the Gauntlet Run. Dagger held in there as long as she could but Derrick Daze was ready for her.
Daze turned back to Maverick and was hit with the OF!MF! that dropped him to the mat. Mathews and Blazenwing were trying to get Hullum out of the ring and Hullum did all he could to hang and and power himself back into the ring. Hullum hit Mathews with a hard elbow and then the Crash Landing (Snapmare Driver) onto Blazenwing. Hullum grabbed Blazenwing and started to send him over the top as the counter reached zero.
Alison James ran to the ring as quick as she could to save her Trios partner. James pulled Hullum away from Blazenwing and took a hard forearm for her troubles but did manage to save Blazenwing. Daze had Maverick almost eliminated when Mathews came over to help. Daze and Mathews pushed into position and Daze had enough and flipped Mathews into an armbar.
Nick Webb: Daze wanted to take out Johnny Maverick and Mathews just got in his way.
The counter finally reached zero as we got the tenth entrant of the match.
Chris Stevens made his way to the ring and rolled right in. He looked around at everyone fighting each other and decided to lean against the ropes for a bit. James was to her feet and he hit her with a DDT and pulled her up. He went to toss her over the top ropes but Blazenwing caught him with the Full Effect (Sweet Chin Music) square in the jaw that sent him flying over the top ropes and to the floor.
ELIMINATED: Chris Stevens
Rayne: That was quick!
James thanked Blazenwing but was quickly dropped from behind by Hullum hitting a neckbreaker. Blazenwing charged right into a boot from Hullum. Maverick had turned the tides on Daze and had him along the ropes. Hullum grabbed James and backdropped her over the top ropes and hard to the floor.
ELIMINATED: Alison James
The counter reached zero as she hit the floor.
Nick Webb: Here comes one third of the Trios Champions!
Rayne: Huge moment for F.M.
Young entered the ring and found herself in battle with Blazenwing as we saw Hullum now trying to toss out Mathews. Everyone had a dance partner as the counter ticked down. Young hit Blazenwing with a kick to the gut and lifted him to her shoulder. She caught him with the Boom Pow (GTS) and he staggered towards the ropes but fell short as the counter hit zero.
Erwin Kingston was fired up for his big chance and hit the ring and started hitting anything that moved. He was throwing punches around the ring and fending off Mathews who had taken exception. Daze hit Maverick with a headbutt and clotheslined him over the ropes but Maverick held on. Maverick tried to suplex Daze over the ropes and to the floor but Daze wrapped his leg around the middle rope to block as we hit zero again.
Karli Frost sprinted to the ring and was met right away by Young. Frost speared Young to the mat and the two ladies rolled around the ring as they exchanged blows. Frost landed on top and started to pound Young’s head against the mat. Young rolled Frost onto her back and clocked her with hard forearms. Blazenwing once again found himself on the brink of elimination as Erwin Kingston now had him against the ropes. The clock counted down and the crowd popped as it hit zero.
Slayton rushed to the ring and slid in before pulling Erwin off Blazenwing.

Hullum found himself battling again with Maverick. Fhenix tried lifting Slayton out of the ring but Slayton slipped away as the counter reached zero.
The crowd popped as Simonova rushed to the ring. Slayton looked for the Full Effect (Sweet Chin Music) on Fhenix but Fhenix dodged it. Fhenix pushed Slayton while he was off balance and sent him over the top and to the floor just as Elena rushed past him.
ELIMINATED: David Slayton
Nick Webb: There goes Dave!
Rayne: That’s twice tonight that Fhenix has gotten one over on Dave.
Elena speared Fhenix to the mat and popped to her feet. She clotheslined him to the mat as he rose but he was right back up. Elena charged and clotheslined him and they both went up and over the top rope, to the floor, and continued to exchange blows.
ELIMINATED: Elena Simonova and Jonathan Fhenix
Rayne: Elena just eliminated herself and Fhenix!
Nick Webb: I think the message was heard loud and clear earlier, Rayne. We’re back down to four in the ring; Kurt Hullum, who keeps finding ways to stay in this thing after entering number 1. Johnny Maverick who entered at number 4, F.M. Young and Karli Frost, who entered at 11 and 13.
The counter finally reached zero and out came the seventeenth entrant.
King made his way down and found himself fighting right away as Frost was to her feet and ready to attack. The numbers game was too much as Young was up and the two partners tried to eliminate Frost. Maverick was once again trying to lift Hullum out near the corner and Hullum was hugging the turnbuckles to stay in the match. It wasn’t much longer and we had our next entrant.
Young and King tried to toss Frost but Fenryr was now in the ring and clubbed away at them with forearms to the face. Young was taken down with the Gravedigger (Full Nelson Legsweep Faceplant). King jumped on the back of Fenryr but was flipped forward and over the top ropes and to the floor.
ELIMINATED: Alexander King
Hullum had another scare as Maverick lifted him onto his shoulders and tried to dump him over the top but he fell onto the apron and crawled into the corner.
Nick Webb: Another close call for Kurt here. He’s made it over halfway so far.
Rayne: That’s no easy task.
Fenryr and Frost had their sights set on Young now as the counter hit zero.
There was a nice pop as Kaito Hirano made his way to the ring and quickly started throwing kicks in the direction of Fenryr. Fenryr stumbled backwards and took a dropkick that sent him into the corner. Young was up and pushed Frost into Hirano who caught her with a spinning back kick. The crowd gave Emily Corlen a big ovation as she jogged to the ring and entered. She and Fenryr stood toe to toe briefly and Fenryr knocked her down with a right hand. She rolled up right away and dropped Fenryr with a single right hand that had the crowd cheering. He climbed to his feet and met her with a European uppercut and backed her into the corner. Fenryr came over and was hit by a running big boot from Phantom as we reached our next entrant.
The crowd popped for the return of Austin Scott.
Rayne: That’s Austin Scott! He’s back!
Nick Webb: Austin had been loaned to EWS but seems to be back after leaving them some time ago. He had some success there but he’s seen great success as a rookie here in BWF.
Scott entered the ring and dropped Hullum with a clothesline. Maverick charged and was lifted to the shoulder of Scott. Scott dropped Maverick with the Ace in the Hole (Rikishi Driver). Corlen had made her way over to Phantom and after driving her knee into his gut she sent him over the top but he “skinned the cat” and pulled himself onto the apron. Maverick started to use the ropes to pull himself up and Corlen saw him. She walked over and dumped him over the top ropes and to the floor.
ELIMINATED: Johnny Maverick
Nick Webb: And Johnny Maverick is gone!
Rayne: That was an impressive amount of time to be in this match.
The counter hit zero as we had the next entrant.
Brianna Park took her time walking to the ring as she scoped out the scene. Corlen was back to battling with Fenryr as they were matching each other blow for blow before he drove his knee into her gut. Fenryr grabbed Corlen and hit an overhead belly to belly suplex. Da Bomb jumped into the ring and was met by Phantom landing a hard kick. Da Bomb returned with a right hand and speared him into the corner. Hirano was lifted up and over the top by Fenryr and he landed on the apron. Hirano springboarded into the ring and caught Fenryr with a stiff kick to the side of the head. Park pulled Hirano off Fenryr and hit a suplex as the counter hit zero.
Perez made his way to the ring and walked right into a Sine Oculus (Pele Kick) from Phantom. Corlen was hammering the back of Fenryr with clubbing blows near the ropes as Park was trying to toss out Hirano.
Nick Webb: Brianna Park trying to get rid of Kaito to add insult to injury tonight.
Hirano threw hard kicks at Park to break away from the ropes as Corlen was dumped to the apron by Hullum. Hullum was hit by Da Bomb with a belly to back suplex. Phantom charged at Corlen and she pulled down the top ropes and he went flying over and to the floor.

Nick Webb: Austin Scott saw a window of opportunity there and knocked Emily off the apron and she doesn’t seem too pleased.
Corlen smacked the apron before heading to the back. Sabrina Scott entered the ring and helped her former Trios partner, Hirano, avoid elimination by attacking Park. Perez was trying to dump Da Bomb from the ring and Fenryr came over and dumped them both over the top and to the floor.
ELIMINATED: Da Bomb and Miguel Perez
Rayne: Fenryr just took out two superstars at the same time!
Nick Webb: And look, Kurt Hullum is STILL in this thing!
Fenryr turned and took a Straight Whiskey (Running Lariat) from Austin Scott that knocked him to the mat. Austin Scott pulled Fenryr up and lifted him to his shoulder and looked to dump him over the top but Fenryr held onto the ropes as the counter hit zero.
The fans roared in a cheer as X made his return to BWF.
Nick Webb: It’s X! We haven’t seen him since Heatwave!
Rayne: X going to try and become the only three time Gauntlet Run Sole Survivor. He’s already the only winner of two.
X hit the ring and immediately was going at it with Park. Fenryr was back to his feet across the ring and he clotheslined Hirano into the corner. Chaney was hammering Scott with bionic elbows in the corner as the counter reached zero.
Figgins charged down to the ring and started throwing kicks at just about anyone that moved. She hit Fenryr with a neckbreaker and then rolled to her feet. Figgins hit Austin Scott with a tornado DDT and popped back up. She looked for a crossbody on Fenryr and he ducked it but she landed on Chaney. The fans were buzzing as we neared the final entrant. Scott and Hirano were trying to dump out Hullum who was still hanging on as the buzzer hit zero.
Spykeman rushed the ring and started hitting leaping clotheslines on all of the superstars in the ring. He went to leap at Fenryr and Fenryr caught him and hit a belly to belly slam. Figgins jumped off the second rope and spiked Hullum with a DDT.
Nick Webb: All the entrants have entered the ring and we’re down to nine!
Rayne: And Kurt is still in this thing but has to be wearing thin.
Chaney and Spykeman briefly teamed up and tried to toss on Hirano but Hirano held onto the top ropes and pulled himself back into the ring. Sabrina Scott hit Figgins with a running forearm and quickly pulled her back to her feet. Austin Scott grabbed Sabrina Scott and dropped her with a reverse DDT. Figgins was grabbed by Fenryr and he hit an overhead belly to belly suplex that sent her over the top ropes and to the floor.
ELIMINATED: Destiny Figgins
X was dropped with a double clothesline from Spykeman and Chaney. Hirano hit a charging Hullum with a spinning kick to the gut. Hirano hit a lifting kick to the chest of Hullum and then clotheslined him over the top rope but Hullum landed on the apron. He tried to suplex Hirano to the outside but Hirano landed on the apron beside him. They exchanged punches and swayed on the apron and held onto the top rope. Hirano jumped up and landed a kick to the side of Hullum’s head and Hullum fell to the floor.
ELIMINATED: Kurt Hullum
Rayne: Down goes Kurt!
Nick Webb: What an impressive run for Kurt here tonight but falls short.
Hirano went to springboard into the ring at Fenryr and Fenryr dropped him with a powerbomb. X blocked a bionic elbow from Chaney and hit a short-arm clothesline. Spykeman rushed X but was hit with a dropkick from Sabrina Scott. Sabrina pulled Spykeman up and sent him over the top ropes and to the floor.
ELIMINATED: Spykeman!
X turned and was hit by a forearm from Chaney. Chaney hit a reverse atomic drop on X who staggered near the ropes. Austin Scott charged and clotheslined both X and Chaney to the floor.
ELIMINATED: X and Allen Chaney
Nick Webb: We’re down to our final four! Austin Scott, Sabrina Scott, Fenryr, and Kaito Hirano.
Fenryr charged Hirano and Hirano jumped up and tried to headscissor him over the top rope. Fenryr pushed Hirano over the top and he dropped to the apron. Fenryr smashed Hirano’s head off the nearest turnbuckle and Hirano almost fell off the apron. Fenryr took a few steps back and charged, hitting a running boot, and knocked Kaito off.
ELIMINATED: Kaito Hirano
Sabrina Scott was on the other side of the ring and she hit Austin Scott with a step up enziguri that sent him falling backwards and went over the top ropes and to the floor.
ELIMINATED: Austin Scott
Nick Webb: Two! We’re down to two! Either Fenryr or Sabrina are going to headline WrestleFest IX.
Rayne: Here we go!
Scott and Fenryr lock up and start exchanging lefts and rights. Fenryr drove his knee into her gut and hit a vertical suplex. Scott rolled to her feet and ducked a clothesline and hit him with Pocketful of Sunshine (Codebreaker to back of opponent’s head). Both competitors were down as Scott slowly pulled herself up. She dragged Fenryr to his feet and tried to send him over the top with a whip but he reversed into a kitchen sink. Scott held her gut as she stood and Fenryr dropped her with Hel Road (Double Underhook Powerbomb). Fenryr fell to his knees, exhausted.
Nick Webb: Fenryr has been in the ring for a long time now and it’s showing. He’s so close to winning, he just has to get Sabrina out.
The fans roared with cheers as AJ Adams rushed down to the ring and slid into the ring.
Rayne: What’s AJ doing here!?
Fenryr turned towards Adams and Adams hit him with the Last Call (Codebreaker) and Fenryr fell into the ropes. Adams looked over at Scott as she started to stand. He turned to Fenryr and charged before clotheslining him over the top rope as the bell sounded.
WINNER: Sabrina Scott 58:39
Rayne: AJ just screwed Fenryr out of a chance to headline WrestleFest!
Nick Webb: I think AJ sees it as he just helped his estranged girlfriend win the Gauntlet Run.
Sabrina started to come to and realized what AJ had done. He smiled and offered her a hug but she started to yell at him, furious. They exchanged some words as he threw his arms up. He turned and pointed to Fenryr and she jumped up and hit him with the Pocketful of Sunshine!
Rayne: Sabrina just took her frustration out on AJ!
Nick Webb: That’s not going to help things between them!
Sabrina looked down at AJ and just shook her head, now looking upset. She had her hand raised in victory and she leaned against the ropes.
Nick Webb: She will however now meet AJ at WrestleFest IX with the BWF World Championship on the line.
Scott rolled out of the ring after a small celebration and made her way up the ramp. Adams came to and sat up and pulled himself up. He turned around and Fenryr was back in the ring and drove his knee into the gut of Adams. Fenryr proceeded to drive Adams to the mat with Hel Road and practically snarled at him after out of anger.
Rayne: And Fenryr just took out AJ! Talk about a bad end of the night for AJ.
Nick Webb: Fenryr is pissed and rightfully so.
Fenryr left the ring as we got a final shot of Adams laid out in the middle of the ring before fading to black.

Rayne: It’s like deja vu! Someone just saved Jay again.
Blazenwing rolled back into the ring as he and Slayton clotheslined Kingson over the top ropes.
ELIMINATED: Erwin Kingston
Blazenwing and Slayton turned their attention to a charging Mathews and sent him over the top with a back body drop to the floor.
ELIMINATED: Luke Mathews
Hullum came over and hit Slayton with a hard forearm but took a kick to the gut from Blazenwing.
Nick Webb: Jay and David are on a roll!
Young had Frost up and pushed her against the ropes and tried to send her over. Maverick hit Daze with the OF!MF! and quickly followed it with a clothesline that sent Daze over the top and to the floor.
ELIMINATED: Derrick Daze
The counter reached zero and we had entrant number fifteen.
Slayton readied himself as Fhenix rushed the ring and this allowed Hullum to rush over and grab Blazenwing from behind and send him up and over the top rope.
ELIMINATED: Jay Blazenwing
Fhenix and Slayton came to blows and each landed a flurry of punches. Frost was trying to get Young out of the ring and Young fought back with hard headbutts and punches.
Young hip tossed Frost right over the top ropes and to the floor.
ELIMINATED: Karli Frost
Young was fired up but found herself clotheslined over the top ropes by Fenryr and she hit the floor beside Frost.
ELIMINATED: F.M. Young
Hullum hit Maverick with a discus elbow smash and both men collapsed on the mat. Hirano was locked in a bearhug by Fenryr and he tried to battle out as the counter hit zero.
Nick Webb: Martin Karloff is the twentieth entrant.
Rayne: Starting to get into gut check time now.
Hirano was able to slip away from Fenryr but was hit with a running DDT by Phantom. He pulled Hirano to his feet and sent him into the ropes and Hirano ducked under his clothesline and dropped him with a neckbreaker. Fenryr made his way over to Hullum and dropped him with a German suplex. Maverick charged and ran into a knee from Fenryr that was followed up with a gutwrench suplex. The counter ticked down and reached zero for number twenty-one.

The crowd popped for the return of Austin Scott.

Rayne: Sabrina just took her frustration out on AJ!
Nick Webb: That’s not going to help things between them!
Sabrina looked down at AJ and just shook her head, now looking upset. She had her hand raised in victory and she leaned against the ropes.
