Episode 144 - April 15, 2013
Nick Webb: Ladies and gentlemen, do NOT adjust your television sets... BWF is back on the air! I'm Nick Webb, this here is my colleague Rayne, and we welcome you to the BMO Harris Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for what is sure to be an action-packed night!
Rayne: You bet your ass it will! We've got hot ladies catfighting, a bunch of guys duking it out and, in the main event, a former World Champion going one on one with a good old Southern boy!
Scott Benjamin: Ladies and gentlemen... at this time, please welcome the Owner of the Blazenwing Wrestling Federation... EMILY CORLEN!!!
The theme song for Havok cuts out and "She's a Rebel" by Green Day kicks in on the BlazenTron. The crowd pops as the new BWF Owner, Emily Corlen, walks out to the stage, grinning. She glances down at the briefcase she's carrying and winks at the camera before slowly making her way down the ramp, high fiving several fans in attendance.
Nick Webb: Emily Corlen shocked the world just a few short weeks ago when she announced on Twitter that she had purchased the rights to the BWF from former Owner David Slayton, and that she intended on resurrecting the franchise! Many didn't think it would happen, or even could happen, and yet here we are tonight, back in action!
Rayne: BWF has closed a few times over the years for various reasons, but like any good company, we're hard to keep down. I always hold out hope that my chair will be here waiting for me again, and I haven't been disappointed yet.
Nick Webb: Are you tearing up a little on me, Rayne?
Rayne: No. Shut up. Stop looking at me.
Nick Webb chuckles to himself as Emily makes her way up the steps surrounding the ring and enters through the second and third ropes. She sets the briefcase down and takes a moment to strike her signature pose, stretching both arms out like a phoenix stretching its wings. After the flashbulbs subside, she walks over to the apron and motions for a mic as her music fades.
Emily Corlen: The last time the letters 'BWF' were seen on national television was August 25, 2011... the night the Blazenwing Wrestling Federation burned.
Without another word, Emily turned to the BlazenTron, motioning to it. The screen lights up with footage dated 'BWF Animosity - 8.25.11', moments after Abbie Edwards defeated then-BWF World Champion Finale in a Non-Title Match.
**********************************************************
Edwards rolls out of the ring as Finale is still doubled over in the middle of the ring. The referee is handed the title as someone charges the ring and slides under the ropes as everyone is confused. They stand but the face is covered with a black ski mask.
Nick Webb: I have a bad feeling about this, Rayne.
Rayne: Whoever this is, they are stalking Finale.
The mystery man starts to circle Finale with their arms out to their side, yelling at Finale to get up. The World Champion gets to his feet and is taken down with a superkick. They stand over the fallen Finale and begin to shout at him.
Rayne: Is he saying its Finale’s fault?
Nick Webb: That’s what it sounds like to me.
The mystery man gets out of the ring and starts to look under it and pulls out a sledgehammer and tosses it into the ring. The referee has ducked out of the ring and the man climbs back in. He grabs the BWF World Title and tosses it towards the ramp. The man grabs the sledge and uses it to put a hole in the ring with a hard swing. He pulls Finale back to his feet and knees him in the gut and dumps him over the top rope and onto the floor.
A guard runs down the ramp and helps Finale to his feet and drags him to the back and out of the destruction of the mystery man. The man starts to untie the ropes and grabs the hammer again and just starts to break the ring posts. The fans at ringside have backed up some as he grabs the hammer and makes his way up the ramp and grabs the World Title. He lays it at his feet and swings the hammer down and shatters the belt into pieces!
Nick Webb: He just destroyed the BWF World Championship!
The man ducks into the back and walks back up with a gasoline can and makes his way to the ring and starts to douse the mat in gas. The fans are starting to be backed up farther by security as the man pours the gas up the ramp to create a trail and tosses the empty can to the side.
Rayne: Will someone stop him!?
The man grabs the pieces of the World Title and tosses it into the line of the gas and picks the sledgehammer back up and starts to destroy the top of the stage before tossing it into the BlazenTron. He pulls a microphone from his pocket and mumbles directly into it as if to try and help mask his voice some.
Mystery Man: Watch the BWF burn to the ground.
He reaches into his other pocket and pulls out a flip lighter and tosses it on the ground as the title lights up and moments later the ring is set ablaze. The fans start to scream and evacuate the area as the man laughs and continues to destroy the stage and what he can reach of the BlazenTron.
Nick Webb and Rayne have also left the ring area as we fade to black on the destruction.
**********************************************************
The crowd watches, booing the footage, as Emily holds the microphone up.
Emily Corlen: That was the end of the BWF's run under the umbrella of the AoWF. Of course, you all know what happened next; the following week, Wade Mason strolled in and revealed that from the ashes of BWF, True Glory Wrestling would be reborn. It seemed as though, once and for all, the BWF would be dead and buried... not by a Canadian with an epic chip on his shoulder and a somewhat disturbing love of alliteration... not by a devious S.O.B. of a pioneer with a Cheshire grin... not even by my ex-husband, Johnny Maverick, dead set on ruining anything with the name 'Blazenwing' plastered on it... no, BWF's fate was sealed by an unassuming man in a tailored suit who thought his three letters were more important than our three letters.
A smattering of boos fills the arena.
Emily Corlen: Well, tonight, I stand here - WE stand here - as a notice to the world of professional wrestling; we are the Blazenwing Wrestling Federation... and the BWF DOES NOT DIE!
Finally, the crowd pops loudly.
Emily Corlen: Now, if you'll all be so kind, allow me to introduce that masked man who destroyed Finale on August of 2011 and helped pave the way for Wade Mason's arrival and the removal of the BWF from the Alliance of Wrestling Federations... Milwaukee's own... DAVID SLAYTON!!!
"Superstar II" by Saliva hits the BlazenTron and the hometown crowd comes to life as David Slayton walks onto the stage, beaming proudly. He adjusts the lapel of his custom tailored suit as he walks down the ramp before making his way around the ring.
Nick Webb: Listen to this crowd! You'd think the former David Blazenwing was the most popular wrestler in the world!
Rayne: Milwaukee fans aren't exactly known for their intelligence.
Nick Webb: Rayne!
Rayne: HA!
Slayton stops to have a few words with newly signed BWF competitor Kyle Cross, who is out with the fans tonight, and shakes Kyle's hand before walking up the steps and entering the ring. He hugs Emily, and then motions for a mic of his own as the music stops. A loud "Thank you D-Blaze" chant breaks out.
Nick Webb: Like him or not, the fans respect Slayton; if not for his career, then for the BWF and his role in making it the global juggernaut it once was.
Rayne: And hopefully, will be again, provided T.O.B. up there doesn't screw it up.
Nick Webb: T.O.B.?
Rayne: Tig Ol' Bitt-
Nick Webb: NEVERMIND.
After the chant dies down, Slayton finally starts to speak, still grinning from ear to ear.
David Slayton: I know what everybody's thinking. "Dave, you lost the BWF in the main event of WrestleFest VI to Johnny Maverick, who then sold it to BWF Hall of Famer Gabe Shelley! So how did you sell the BWF to Emily here?"
The crowd murmurs.
David Slayton: Here's the gist of it. Johnny won BWF off of me. Johnny sold BWF to Gabe. Gabe was an alright Owner, nothing special, still answered to a Board of Directors that was run by me - we'll call that a Founder's perk. Gabe 'closes' BWF and contacts Wade Mason to take the airtime and bring back TGW in September of 2011. One small stipulation of Gabe's contract as BWF Owner; to keep the company in his name, he has to put on shows. One year passes, no BWF programming, the rights reverted to me. It's a little failsafe I had put into the WrestleFest VI contract on the off chance I lost. I'd be damned if I was going to let Johnny bury BWF for the sake of his own ego.
Slayton shrugs as the crowd half cheers, half boos.
Nick Webb: Definitely some J-Mav fans here in Milwaukee!
Rayne: That's good, considering he's got family wrestling tonight!
David Slayton: Don't blame me, a guy's gotta protect his investments. And ironically enough, I'm here in Milwaukee with my two greatest investments right now. The Blazenwing Wrestling Federation - the rinky dink little promotion I started ten years ago and grew into one of the most well recognized federations on the planet... and Emily Corlen, the young girl with no confidence that I helped mold into a four-time World Champion... and the new Owner of the company bearing my name. My little sister.
David turns to Emily, smirking.
David Slayton: Don't screw the pooch, kiddo.
Slayton pats Emily, who looks genuinely touched, on the back and moves to the corner, allowing her to take the spotlight.
Emily Corlen: Alright. We're gonna get to some Grade A grappling in a moment, but first, I have two momentous announcements for all of you. First... at BWF Danger Zone in Chicago, Illinois on April 29, we will crown the first-ever BWF Sovereign Champion. That Championship follows the lineage of the old United States Title, which is the oldest title in the company. The challengers for that match, as well as the type of match, will be announced next week live on Havok.
Emily smiles as the crowd cheers politely.
Emily Corlen: The second announcement regards the BWF World Championship.
A much bigger pop this time.
Emily Corlen: At Danger Zone, the main event will see the rise of a new BWF World Champion. What makes this particular moment exciting is that as of right now, there is not a single person under contract to the BWF who has ever held the BWF World Title. That means that regardless of who wins the title, we're guaranteed to see a first time BWF World Champion... and I think that's pretty damn cool.
Nick Webb: That IS pretty cool!
The crowd agrees as well, cheering.
Emily Corlen: The question, of course, is WHO will be competing for the Championship... and in what kind of match. I've given this a lot of thought, and I feel as though several people should be given a shot to be the first BWF Champion of this new era. To that end, I will be closely watching everything that happens over the next two weeks and next week on Havok, I will make an official announcement at the end of the program naming the six top competitors in my eyes who will be advancing to the main event of Danger Zone.
Rayne: Six competitors?
Emily Corlen: It is there, in the main event on April 29, where those six superstars will meet... with the BWF World Championship on the line... in the Blazenwing Wrestling Federation's signature match -
Nick Webb: No way!
Rayne: You mean...?
Emily Corlen: ...THE HELLBOUND MATCH!!!
This elicits perhaps the loudest pop of the night yet from the crowd inside the BMO Harris Bradley Center. Emily leans down and picks up the briefcase.
Emily Corlen: Oh, and one more thing... since DAVE destroyed the old BWF World Championship two years ago... I had to have a brand new one commissioned. Feast your eyes on the NEW BWF World Championship!
Emily opens the briefcase and pulls out the new Championship belt, revealing it for the first time...
Emily holds the title up and the camera zooms in as the crowd cheers and "I Want It All" starts playing again to signal the commercial break.
Rayne: Now THAT is a sexy belt! Who's gonna wear it first?
Nick Webb: We'll know the answer to that in two weeks when Hellbound returns to the BWF! We'll be right back after this commercial break, folks, with the wrestling action you've been waiting for!
The bell rings for the BWF's inaugural return contest, and right out of the gate, Elizabeth Davis fights like a woman with something to prove. She lays out Airica with a bevy of powerful shots, trying for the three a few times early in the match but not hitting her opponent with anything strong enough to keep her down for more than two. Still, Davis controls the match, refusing to allow Airica any chance to gain the upper hand, all with the lovely Katrina Evans cheering her on from ringside.
Rayne: So, the manager. Katrina whats-her-name?
Nick Webb: Katrina Evans.
Rayne: Yeah, her. You think she's a natural blonde?
Nick Webb: I have no idea. Why?
Rayne: Just wondering if the carpet matches the drapes.
Nick Webb: I'd ask what was wrong with you... but I doubt this broadcast is long enough for your answer.
As Katrina watches the match oblivious to the conversation at the announcer's table, Liz misses an attempted clothesline and Airica comes back with the Beauty in the Breakdown (Spear), but she only manages to get a little over a one count on Liz. Still, this is the opportunity Linn needs to make a comeback, which makes it all the more disappointing for the lovely young woman when, moments later, Liz ducks under an attempted French TKO (Heel Kick to the Back of the Head) and chop tackles Airica's free leg. Davis immediately begins breaking down Airica's right leg - the same one she tackled - and after a few nasty shots and twists, traps Airica in the Maple Leaf Lock (Figure 4 Leg Lock) in the center of the ring. Airica struggles for a few moments to escape, but has nowhere to go and has no choice but to tap out.
WINNER: Elizabeth Davis, via Submission
"Mr. Night" by Kenny Loggins plays throughout the arena as Liz celebrates her victory. Kat enters the ring and the two ladies celebrate together, Rayne slobbering over both of them on commentary, as BWF heads to commercial.
Lights Out
The crowd awaits the next portion of the show as “Bring It” by Trapt starts to fill the Bradley Center which causes them to jump to their feet. Outlaw comes out from behind the curtain with Kelly O’Shea on his arm. Without a match tonight Outlaw is dressed in a pair of slacks and his brand new Outlaw t-shirt, available only through the BWF ShopZone.
Nick Webb: Looks like we’re getting a little bit of Outlaw here tonight.
Rayne: Who cares? He has Kelly O’Shea with him. How’d he get a girl like that anyway?
Outlaw holds the hand of O’Shea as they make their way to the ring and he bumps fists with a few fans. He jumps onto the apron as O’Shea makes her way up the ring steps. Outlaw sits on the middle rope and allows O’Shea to climb in. He turns and jumps over the top rope and then onto the middle rope and poses for the fans. O’Shea comes over to him as he jumps down and hands him a microphone.
Outlaw: Tonight is important in the history of BWF and I had to come and stand right where it all started.
The fans in Milwaukee erupt in cheers.
Outlaw: I signed with BWF because I know that this company has made superstars and I plan on being the next big star. I’m here to work each and every night and become a BWF World Champion. One day I will be inducted into the BWF Hall of Fame. I’ve worked for this company before and I see that its ownership and sponsors believe in it more than ever. I see a following of fans that love this product and want to see it rise to new heights.
He points out to the crowd and gets cheers.
Outlaw: Each and every single one of you know that for ten years, this company has brought something special to the wrestling world. Everyone in the back is here for the same thing; the World title.
He looks up to the rafters and the camera pans out to show the Danger Zone logo.
Outlaw: Danger Zone has been an important event for the BWF during those ten years, and some of the biggest names to ever wrestle for this company have been in the main event there - so that's where I need to be. I plan on being the next person to survive Hellbound. Danger Zone, Hellbound, they make superstars, and I -
Outlaw is cut off as the lights go out in the arena and the microphone is cut off.
Rayne: Did Corlen forget to pay for the electricity bill?
Nick Webb: Sorry, folks, just give us a few minutes to sort this lights out situation.
The lights come back up as AJ Adams stands behind Outlaw with a big smirk on his face and motioning for Outlaw to turn around.
Nick Webb: AJ Adams is here!
The crowd is roaring as Outlaw turns around and walks right into the Last Call.
Nick Webb: Last Call!
Kelly O’Shea backs up into the corner and yells at Adams. He looks up and takes a few steps and she lunges forward with a clothesline that doesn’t even budge him.
Rayne: I know that O’Shea has a bit of in-ring training but she’s never even had a match, she needs to get out of there! Someone help her!
Adams grabs her by the hair and sends her up and over the top rope as she falls and lands hard. He turns his attention to Outlaw and pulls him to his feet. Outlaw starts to battle back with lefts and rights and sends Adams into the turnbuckle. Outlaw charges and hits a big splash and gets the crowd going. He turns and springboards off the ropes and turns midair but is caught with a second Last Call!
Nick Webb: Out of nowhere!
Adams jumps towards Outlaw and locks in an anklelock as the crowd boos. Outlaw is locked in the hold as Adams grapevines and wrenches the ankle. Security and trainers rush down to try and break the hold as O’Shea is slowly getting to her feet on the outside. Adams refuses to let go as Outlaw is clearly in pain.
Rayne: Adams sending a message here tonight.
Nick Webb: Everybody's out to impress Emily and get added to Hellbound!
The trainers are finally able to pull Adams off of Outlaw and separate the two. Adams starts to laugh as he leaves the ring.
Rayne: We gotta take a quick break, but I have a strong feeling we haven't seen the last from these two! And Adams is still wrestling in tonight's main event!
All three men enter the ring and the bell sounds to start the match. After Chandler mouths off to both Kumquat Kid and Spykeman!, the enigmatic one and the Jade Guardian of Justice decide to double team him, garnering huge pops from the crowd in attendance. It builds to a classic L.O.D. style Doomsday Device on Chandler that effectively takes him out of the contest.
Nick Webb: Wow! Look at that! Spykeman! and the Kumquat Kid working together like a veteran tag team!
Rayne: And that didn't last.
Indeed, no sooner does Webb speak and both Spykeman! and KK have broken down into a brawl, though likely more out of respect for the contest then any actual angst. The next several minutes sees several near falls for both men with Tyler still M.I.A. somewhere at ringside. The turning point comes as Kumquat Kid lines Spykeman! up for his Pez Dispenser (Cross Rhodes) and Tyler finally makes his grand return, rolling KK up before he can hit the move! He doesn't get the three, though - Ryan Lewis kicks out just in time! The crowd cheers loudly as Chandler and Kumquat roll to their feet and begin exchanging punches. After a brief scuffle, Chandler ducks a haymaker from KK and nails his Fall of Olympus (Jumping Reverse Bulldog)! The crowd boos loudly as he drags Kumquat Kid closer to the center of the ring and starts to cover.
Nick Webb: Wait a second! LOOK!
Rayne: Oh, good lord. Is that a cape?
What Chandler doesn't notice is Spykeman!, cape and all, leaping from the outside apron onto the top rope... and off the top rope... and landing squarely on the prone body of Ryan Lewis with his You Will Believe a Man Can Fly! (Spykeman! takes to the sky from the top ropes, he pulls a superman pose before landing with a diving headbutt. He'll usually put his cape back on to pull this move off.) The impact of the move hits Chandler, who was starting to cover, as well, knocking him all the way onto the ring apron! Spykeman! covers Kumquat Kid... 1... 2... 3!
WINNER: Spykeman!, via Pinfall
"Batman (1966) Power Metal Version" plays, singing the praises of Spykeman!, as the Jade Guardian of Justice rolls out of the ring and jumps into the crowd to celebrate. As he does so, he doesn't notice Tyler Chandler slide back into the ring. Angry with the end result of the match, Chandler starts attacking Kumquat Kid to massive boos from the crowd! He positions KK's arm awkwardly and stomps down on it, causing Lewis to howl in pain.
Nick Webb: Come on! The match is over!
The crowd pops loudly as Spykeman! rushes back through the crowd and into the ring to protect the innocent, but Chandler flees the scene before Spykeman! can reach him. The crowd boos loudly as Chandler makes his way backstage, cursing loudly and Spykeman! watches over Kumquat Kid until backstage help arrives to check on him.
Rayne: Quick! Someone lend the Kumquat Kid a hand!
Nick Webb: You're a horrible person.
Rayne: HA!
People Problems
Havok returns from commercial and we see both Airica Linn and Tyler Chandler sitting backstage, fuming over their losses tonight.
Tyler Chandler: Just you wait, babe. So these chumps got lucky this week. Next week, we're going to kick some SERIOUS ass and that bimbo running the place will have no choice but to put us both up for the World Title.
Airica smiles at Tyler and nods, still rubbing her right knee. As he continues to reassure her, female voices can be heard off screen, and after a moment, Elena Simonova and Akemi Hayashi walk by, giggling at one another. Airica quickly stands up, wincing a little, and gets right in Elena's face.
Airica Linn: Hey! HEY! Is something funny?
Elena and Akemi look at one another before busting out laughing. Airica turns her head for a moment, scowling, before reaching back and slapping Elena hard in the face! The crowd audibly "OOH"s and the smile quickly vanishes from the faces of both Elena and Akemi.
Elena Simonova: Big mistake, Barbie.
Elena rears back without another thought and slaps Airica back, stunning the beauty. They quickly devolve into a brawl, and when Akemi tries to break it up, Tyler sneaks up behind her and pulls her crutch away, leaving Akemi to fall to the ground! Airica pushes Elena backwards and Tyler swings with the crutch, catching her square in the back! Elena cries out in pain as she drops to her knees. Airica gets in her face.
Airica Linn: Big mistake, indeed!
She slaps Elena again and Tyler holds the crutch up high in the air, preparing to bring it down on Elena's skull. He swings... but the crutch hangs in midair! He turns around, only to find Outlaw and Kelly O'Shea standing there, Outlaw holding the crutch and glaring.
Outlaw: Boo.
Tyler goes to punch Outlaw, but Outlaw beats him to it, dropping the crutch in the process. Chandler backs up, grabbing Airica before the two of them scuttle away from the scene. Kelly helps Akemi back to her feet as Outlaw extends a hand to Elena, who graciously accepts it.
Outlaw: Looks like I'm not the only one around here with people problems.
He smirks and Elena chuckles, rubbing her cheek as the cameras cut back to ringside. Kyle Cross is once again shown enjoying the show with the fans as the bell rings for the next match.
Chad Collins doesn't try to hide his dirty looks directed at his 'nerdy' opponent this week, Gary Maverick, as the bell rings and the match begins. Gary, in a show of good faith, walks up to Collins and offers his hand for an old-school pre-match handshake. Collins takes his hand and then proceeds to lift Gary up for a fireman's carry into a chinlock. The match continues in much the same fashion for the next several minutes, with Collins frustratingly one step ahead of Gary, who to his credit, remains surprisingly resilient.
Nick Webb: Collins is hitting Maverick with everything he's got here, but Gary won't stay down.
Rayne: I have a feeling Chad Collins hasn't even scratched the surface of everything he's got, Nick.
Midway through the contest, Collins lifts Gary up for a brainbuster, but Gary shifts his weight and counters the move into an armdrag in midair, sending Collins across the mat! Collins, surprised, runs at Maverick, but Gary catches him with the Kamehameha (Double Handed Chest Strike, where Gary goes through the motions of a Kamehameha) for a two count! Gary pleads with the ref, insisting it was a three, which gives Collins the opening he needs to recover and get back on the offensive. The match flows back and forth between competitors at this point, seeing both men capture near falls. Collins nearly forces Gary to submit to a surfboard stretch, but Gary manages to power out of it. Collins regains control again and after hitting his Spinebuster, lines Gary up for his Torture Rack.
Nick Webb: Collins is calling for the end here! He couldn't make Gary tap before, but can he survive Collins' most devastating submission?
Gary stumbles to his feet and Collins lifts him onto his shoulders for the Torture Rack - but somehow, perhaps through pure instinct, Gary slides off of Chad's shoulders before he can properly apply the move and shifts his body, catching Collins on the way down with the Konami Code (Gary jumps onto the back of his opponent, looking ready to roll the opponent into a crucifix pin, but instead, shifts his body where the opponent snaps back and lands on the top of his head. [Crucifix Driver])! Gary hooks the legs... 1... 2... 3!
WINNER: Gary Maverick, via Pinfall
The crowd explodes (perhaps in shock) as "Firewire" (Dj Proz Remix) hits the BlazenTron and Gary Maverick quickly slides out of the ring, jumping up and down excitedly! Collins' manager, Mark Kensington, stares on in shock as Gary ambles up the ramp, grinning excitedly and pumping his fist in the air. Chad, in the ring, clutches at his neck while also staring down Gary with a mixture of shock and disgust.
Nick Webb: Okay, he's a Maverick and all... but that HAS to be considered an upset.
Rayne: DAMMIT!
Nick Webb: You bet on Collins.
Rayne: I bet 2,000 bucks on Coll- hang on, how did you know?
Nick Webb: Because stupid is forever, Rayne. Can't fix it.
Rayne: Shut up before Ron White sues us.
Nick Webb: Hey, at least one of us could still afford it if he did.
Coming Soon on Pay-Per-View
DING DING DING!!!
Scott Benjamin: Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest is your main event of the evening and it is scheduled for ONE fall! Introducing first, he hails from Los Angeles, California... weighing in tonight at 176 pounds... he is AJ ADAMS!!!
"Lights Out" by P.O.D. hits the BlazenTron and the lights go dim as blue and red lights begin to search the arena. As a burst of pyro goes off, AJ Adams is seen standing on the stage looking into the ring. He walks down and sometimes points to the sky. He slides into the ring and climbs one of the turnbuckles. Adams then points out to the crowd and then makes a fist with each hand. He jumps down to the mat and waits his opponent.
Nick Webb: This isn't the first time we've seen AJ Adams tonight. He interrupted a stirring speech being given by Outlaw and delivered a ferocious beating for what appeared to be no good reason.
Rayne: Remember, these two clashed in RXW last year, and Outlaw came out on top when the United States Title was up for grabs. I'd wager there's still a bit of bad blood when it comes to both of those guys.
As the lights in the Blazenwing Wrestling Federation simultaneously begin to fade out one by one the arena can be seen in a state of almost complete darkness as a growing echo takes over throughout the BWF arena as The sound of drums and clapping can be heard coming from the PA sound system as the song "Beast" By Nico Vega kicks in full force, as it does a single pulsing blue strobe light flickers on as the first few lyrics of the song can be heard, as the lyrics of "Beast" are heard out steps "The Beast of America" himself Zachariah Boone. Boone stands at the top of the entrance ramp as the single pulsing blue light shines down upon him.
Scott Benjamin: And his opponent, he hails from the Heart of America, Nashville, Tennessee... weighing in tonight at 228 pounds... he is the Beast of America... he is ZACHARIAH BOONE!!!
As Benjamin announces Boone's name, Zachariah begins to walk on down the entrance ramp, he can be seen getting mostly cheers from the nearby fans at ringside, once at the bottom of the ramp Zachariah walks up to the ring, and jump up onto the canvas (viva la Brock Lesnar) Once up on the canvas Zachariah shakes the ring ropes before stepping inside the ring, once inside the ring Zachariah climbs up the nearest ring post and throws one of his arms up, his hand in the formation of a fist (viva la Rock) before jumping back down from the ring post and awaiting for his opponent to come on out to do battle against one another.
Nick Webb: This guy right here, Zachariah Boone, he had a lot to say this past week, but when it comes to the ring, we have no clue what he's capable of.
Rayne: He'd better be capable of a lot if he hopes to survive a clash with AJ Adams tonight!
Nick Webb: And here we go!
DING!
The bell rings and both men begin circling one another, sizing each other up. Adams makes the first move, aiming a clothesline in Boone's direction, but the Beast of America sidesteps him, swinging around and catching Adams with an elbow to the back of the head. Adams reels into the ropes and Boone catches him with a backbreaker as he slips back, covering him after the impact.
1!
Kickout!
Adams quickly gets the shoulder up and Boone wastes no time, shifting his weight before dropping several knees into Adams' right bicep. He then ties Adams' arm up in a sort of grapevine, pulling back and applying pressure.
Nick Webb: Looks like Boone's trying to soften Adams up early for his Anaconda Vice.
Rayne: Yeah, what's he call it again? Nashville Shores? Pfft. Like anything important has EVER happened in Nashville.
Nick Webb: Really? NOTHING important has ever happened in Nashville. Nothing at all.
Rayne: Of course not. I've never spent any real time there.
Nick Webb: Oy.
The referee checks on Adams, who shouts an expletive in his direction when he checks on him. Adams shifts his weight a few moments later and slips his leg onto the bottom rope, forcing Boone to break the hold. He stands up and starts to pull Adams up, but Adams grabs Boone and yanks him hard, sending Boone over Adams and through the ropes to the floor. Boone lands on his back with a hard thud as AJ slowly backs up in the ring, rubbing his arm.
Rayne: Nice counter there by Adams!
Adams leans against the ropes as he watches Boone slowly stand on the outside. Adams waits until the most opportune moment, and then charges the other side of the ring, leaping over the top rope with the Truly Awesome (Shooting Star Press) and catching Boone square in the jaw with the move! Both men crumple down to the outside mat hard as the crowd starts chanting "Holy shit!" Even Kyle Cross seems impressed.
Rayne: What a move! AJ Adams just went for broke and it paid off big time!
Nick Webb: Maybe, but he looks just as hurt as Boone. We'll find out by the end of the match if it was worth it in the long run...
The referee walks over to the outside and starts counting both men out.
1!
2!
Boone and Adams both start to stir on the outside.
3!
4!
Adams grabs onto the ring apron to pull himself up to one knee. A few feet away, Boone is on all fours trying to regain his senses after being shooting star pressed in the face.
5!
6!
Adams grips the bottom rope and pulls himself up to a standing position. He glares at Boone, who is now on one knee and rising.
7!
Adams doesn't waste time, striking the back of Boone's head with a running knee! Boone collapses in a heap as Adams stumbles backwards, laughing.
8!
Adams slides back into the ring and rolls to his feet, already celebrating his victory. On the outside, Boone is starting to stir. His manager, Annabelle Jennings, is begging him to get back up at ringside.
Boone reaches one knee... then the other.
9!
Boone stumbles to his feet, shaking the cobwebs out. Adams turns to the ref and yells "TEN! THE NEXT NUMBER IS TEN, IDIOT!"
The referee raises his hand to count 10 and call for the bell...
...but at the last possible moment, Boone turns to the ring and uses a burst of adrenaline to slide inside! The referee waves off the count and Adams is beside himself!
Nick Webb: THAT was a close call for Boone!
Rayne: Look at Adams! I think he's going to lose his mind!
Indeed, AJ is now arguing loudly with the referee, who just shrugs and tries to explain that Boone beat the count and there's nothing he can do about it. Adams feigns punching the ref, but manages to restrain himself and calm himself down. He warns the referee, saying "Next time, finish the damn count!" and then starts to turn around, but before he can, Boone pops up behind him, pulls Adams' arms underneath him and nails him with the Southern Born (Double Pumphandle Wheelbarrow Driver)! The referee drops to count!

Thr...NO! Kickout! At the last possible second, AJ kicks out and Boone can't believe it!
Nick Webb: I thought Adams told the referee to finish the next count! He would have been eating crow if that would have been three!
Rayne: Looks more to me like that ref knows better than to piss off AJ Adams again!
Boone sits up on his knees, but only for a moment, as he quickly moves to place Adams in the Anaconda Vice portion of the Nashville Shores! Adams fights back, though, refusing to allow Boone to lock in the submission, finally hitting him with several hard knee strikes to the forehead. Boone can't hold on and falls back, holding his head as he reaches for the nearby bottom rope. Adams slides to one knee, almost stalking Boone as he slowly reaches his feet, pulling himself up by the ropes. Just as Boone stands up and turns around, Adams strikes, catching him with the Last Call (Codebreaker)! Adams covers as Annabelle slams the canvas at ringside, trying to desperately rouse Boone!

Thr...NO! Kickout! Just like AJ moments earlier, Boone kicks out a split second before the three, and AJ's eyes look like they're about to pop out of his head!
Rayne: Don't lose your cool, AJ!
Nick Webb: Neither man can keep the other one down! What a main event!
Rayne: What's it going to take for one of these guys to win this?
Nick Webb: At this point, I think this match comes down to whoever makes the first mistake.
Adams yells taunts at Boone as he pulls him up to his feet. He whips Boone into the ropes and hits a running clothesline. Boone rolls to his feet and Adams hits a second running clothesline. Boone again rolls to his feet and Adams, this time, hits a low running knee, doubling the Beast of America over. Adams covers!

Kickout! Boone kicks out and Adams slams the mat with his right fist. He quickly springs up and pulls Boone with him again, lifting him and hitting a suplex. He hooks the move and swings around to hit a second suplex.
Nick Webb: Looks like AJ Adams is going for the trifecta!
Adams hooks and swings again, lifting Boone for the third suplex, but Boone shifts his weight in midair, coming down behind Adams with a modified Edge-o-matic type neckbreaker into the cover!

Kickout! This time, Adams gets the shoulder up. Boone considers using the momentary lapse in action to attempt to lock in the Anaconda Vice again, but instead, decides to hit the full move, hoping that the STO/Anaconda Vice combo will be enough of a one-two punch to put Adams away. He stands up and poses, taunting AJ as the crowd cheers!
Nick Webb: We could be seeing the end of AJ Adams here!
Rayne: NO! Look out, AJ!
Adams slowly rises to his feet as Boone backs up, readying himself for the first part of the Nashville Shores, the STO. Adams turns around to face Boone and Boone charges, positioning himself for the move - but as Boone catches Adams for the STO, AJ leaps into it, cracking Boone square in the jaw with a second Last Call! The cheers quickly subside as Boone collapses backwards to the mat and Adams hooks the legs.

DING DING DING!!!
Scott Benjamin: Ladies and gentlemen, here is your winner as the result of a pinfall... AJ ADAMS!!!
"Lights Out" by P.O.D. hits the BlazenTron as AJ Adams stands up, grinning from ear to ear. He leans down and taunts Boone, even as his manager, Annabelle, shouts at him from the outside.
Nick Webb: Hats off to AJ Adams for winning one hell of a match here tonight! I'm impressed with both of these young men for sure!
Rayne: As usual, Webb, you nailed it right on the head - it came down to one mistake.
Nick Webb: Or perhaps more accurately, one lucky counter for AJ Adams. If he doesn't counter the Nashville Shores there, Zachariah Boone walks away with the submission victory, I almost guarantee it.
Rayne: Maybe, but... hey, who's that?
Nick Webb: Who?
Rayne: Coming down the ramp!
Indeed, a man with slicked back black hair has started making his way down the ramp, accompanied by no music or pomp at all. The crowd buzzes, confused, as this man makes his way up the stairs and enters the ring through the ropes.
Nick Webb: Hang on, I think... yes, I believe that's X.L. Pendergast. BWF just signed him a few days ago. I don't know the first thing about the guy.
Rayne: Looks a little creepy. Like one of them goth guys.
AJ stops his celebrating and stares at Pendergast, who simply stares back at him - or perhaps more appropriately, through him. Pendergast slowly turns his attention to ringside, locking eyes with Kyle Cross. Both men stare at one another for what seems like an eternity, as Boone slowly reaches his feet in the middle of the ring. Finally breaking his staredown with Cross, Pendergast turns his attention to the still groggy Boone. Out of nowhere, Pendergast rears back and nails Boone in the head with a massive kick, taking him back down to the mat hard!
Nick Webb: What the hell!
Rayne: What a kick!
Pendergast slowly turns his head to AJ Adams, the slightest of smirks spreading across his face, before simply saying "You are dismissed." Adams thinks about it for a moment, then shrugs and exits the ring, not caring enough to get involved. Cross, on the other hand, is now standing at ringside and looks like he's considering doing something. X.L. sees this, and stares bemusedly at Cross between a few more kicks to Boone's temple. He gazes at Cross, almost daring him to step over the barricade, as he makes his way to the top rope.
Nick Webb: Somebody do something!
Pendergast lines himself up to leap off the top rope and hit Boone with the final portion of the X.L.S.D., the Shooting Star Press with a Twist - but before he can, a massive pop from the crowd catches his attention and he sees Kyle Cross making his way over the barricade! X.L. drops off of the top rope and casually walks along the apron before hopping off as Cross slides into the ring. Annabelle joins Cross and they check out Boone together as X.L. Pendergast slowly makes his way backwards up the ramp, observing his work in the same way an artist observes a painting or a sculpture.
Nick Webb: What kind of sicko is this guy? Just look at those eyes... no remorse at all!
Rayne: I like it! SCREW FEELINGS!
In the ring, Kyle Cross stands up, staring out at the stage, where Pendergast is now standing. The two continue staring one another down, silence and tension filling the arena - until a "Kyle Cross" chant breaks out among the BWF faithful.
Nick Webb: This is an interesting turn of events for sure, Rayne. What does next week's Havok have in store?
Rayne: I have no idea, but I'm already excited!
Nick Webb: Same here! For Rayne, I'm Nick Webb... good night from Milwaukee! We'll see you all next week!
In the ring, Zachariah Boone has finally recovered to a nice pop and Cross shakes his hand before turning his attention back to Pendergast, who is still staring at Cross. Annabelle checks on Zachariah and Kyle and X.L. continue their stare down as the show fades to the BWF logo, and then to black.
