Tonight BWF presents its Tainted Twilight pay-per-view. Corey Lazarus finally gets his hands on United States Champion Matt Stone, Star Struck will take on a new team, and the fate of the BWF World Championship will be decided in a fatal four way match. Can Emily Corlen walk out a winner or will one of her competitors sneak out with a win? We find out... NOW!
Nick Webb: I am Nick Webb and alongside me is my broadcast partner, Rayne. Rayne, tonight could very well change the foundation of the BWF as the BWF World Title is defended in a 4-Way bout. We come to you live from Virginia Beach, Virginia!
Rayne: That’s right, Nick. Tonight Finale, Anton Chase, and Star Diamond will go up against Emily Corlen in attempts to capture the title. Can you imagine what would happen if Anton Chase pinned Star and walked out with the title!? Or if Star beat Finale again?
Nick Webb: That’s exactly my point. Anything can happen tonight but you know that Corlen will be focused on doing whatever it takes to get the win and retain her title. We have that to come later tonight but first we have the BWF Tag Team Champions in action.
BWF Tag Team Championship Match
Star Struck (c) Vs. Noelle and Aria Shelley
“That’s Entertainment” by Powerman 5000 starts to play throughout the Virginia Beach Sportsplex as the fans rise to their feet to boo the first set of competitors. Andy Sensation and his brother Star Diamond make their way to the stage with the BWF Tag Titles around their waist. They ignore the boos as they make their way down the ramp and taunt a few fans at ringside. Star slides into the ring and Andy climbs up the ring steps as they await their opponents.
“Spotlight” by Aria Shelley starts to play as Aria and Noelle Shelley make their way to the ring. They stand at the top of the ramp with a smile as the fans cheer them on. They talk for a few moments and Noelle charges towards the ring, sliding under the ropes. Aria isn’t far behind her sister and climbs to the apron as we are set to start our match.
DING!
Noelle and Star start off the match as they begin to circle each other. Star sticks first with a hard left shot that sends Noelle to the mat. She jumps to her feet and lands a hard slap to her opponent. They lock up with each other and Noelle starts to land a few hard forearms to Star. Star sends Noelle off the ropes and walks right into a cross body. Noelle rolls Star up but he kicks out quickly before a count can start. Star pulls Noelle up by her hair and drops her with a snapmare. She pulls herself to her feet but the Tag Team champion is right there with a standing dropkick.
The fans boo Star as he starts to laugh as he walks with arrogance over towards his corner, tagging in his brother. Andy Sensation jumps into the ring and charges towards a rising Noelle. Noelle turns and hits a jumping calf kick to Andy as he falls to the mat. Noelle gets to her feet and Andy isn’t far behind. They lock up and Noelle ducks a clothesline, kicking Andy in the gut and dropping him with a DDT. The fans pop as Noelle starts to make her way to the corner and tags in her sister.
Aria steps into the ring for the first time and seems nervous. Andy gets to his feet and chuckles as he approaches Aria. He goes to lock up with her but Aria swings with a hard slap that echoes throughout the building. She jumps in excitement and does it again as Andy steps back in pain, holding his face. She steps up and lands a kick to the side of his head that sends his staggering backwards and makes a tag to Star.
Star enters and Aria lets up but gets taken down with a spear. Star starts to land a series of lefts and rights on Aria before pulling her to her feet. He lifts her up and hits a stalling suplex. Aria tries to get to her feet but is taken down with a neckbreaker. Star pulls Aria up and starts to set her up for the Rock-n-Roll (Ranhei) but Aria stomps on his foot to break the hold. She goes to run towards her corner but Star grabs her by the hair and she falls on her back hard. Andy reaches in and makes the tag. Andy pulls Aria up and sets up and lands the Pure Sensation (Impaler DDT)! He goes for the cover.
ONE!
TWO!!
Noelle is in the ring and breaks up the hold as the fans let out a sigh of relief. She gets pulled out of the ring and Aria is starting to get to her feet as Andy is ready to hit the move again. Aria stands and kicks Andy in the gut and lands a DDT and rolls to the corner to make the hot tag.
Noelle is in and Andy is up. She ducks a DDT and takes a page out of her uncle Gabe’s playbook and hits a pele kick! She jumps up and hits a running dropkick to Star in the corner. Andy starts to rise and Noelle springboards off the ropes and hits a bulldog! Air Shelley! She covers as the fans chant along and Star tries to make it into the ring.
One!
TWO!!
THREE!!!
Scott Benjamin: Your winners and NEW BWF Tag Team Champions... The Shelleys!
Finale Speaks
The scene cut to the backstage area where BWF Interviewer Will Irwin stood with one of the competitors in tonight's main event, The Buffalo Butcher Finale. Irwin looks nervous standing next to the unpredictable Butcher but he doesn't let it distract him.
Will Irwin: Ladies and gentlemen I am here with the so-called Venom Spitting Submission Machine, Finale.
Finale: So-called? The fuck does that mean Irwin?
Will Irwin: Well to be truthful Finale, you haven't been submitting anyone as of late. The fact that you are still in this World Title match is beyond most people.
Finale stares at Irwin for a moment and then slaps him across the face.
Finale: Bad fat man! Bad! You should pay more attention if you are going to deliver the hard hitting journalism that the BWF broadcast team is known for.
Irwin goes to interrupt but Finale stops him.
Finale: No no, shut the fuck up. You see because had you been paying any attention Mr. Irwin, you would know that I have come to terms with those losses. They happened, they occurred when my head wasn't in the game.
He turns and looks right into the camera.
Finale: I assure the fans, my opponents and all the little Nancys in the back that that is no longer the case. I will show you why I was the first BWF wrestler to ever win an AOWF title. I will show you why my losses to people like Matt Stone don't mean a fucking thing. I will show you why I will be BWF World Champion. Keep your goddamn eyes peeled. I am the end and the end is nigh.
Finale then storms off leaving fat boy alone to think about having sex with a pizza.
No More Words
We join BWF interviewer Don McMichael backstage, standing in front of a large Tainted Twilight backdrop with water trickling down behind the logo. To his left, Emily Corlen stands in full ring gear, the BWF World Championship held proudly over her shoulder.
Don McMichael: Emily, ever since you claimed the vacant BWF World Title as your own on the final edition of Monday Night Havok several weeks ago, you and your reign as BWF World Champion has been the center of one of the biggest controversies, not only in BWF, but in the entire AoWF. Do you have anything to say to your detractors?
Emily Corlen: Don, Mark Twain once said “It is better to take what does not belong to you than to let it lie around neglected.” Gabe Shelley and I went through hell at WrestleFest VI over this Championship, and I got to taste the sweet nectar of winning my first World Championship for the briefest of moments before Gabe regained the title that he had so rightfully dominated since BWF’s reopening in February. A week later, he announced his in-ring retirement from the company, and decided that this title, this BWF World Championship with a lineage dating back nearly eight years, would lay vacated, forgotten until further notice.
Emily shifts her eyes to the gold on her shoulder, touching it gently.
Emily Corlen: Maybe some people in this company would have been alright with that, but I knew that this title deserved better than that. It deserved to be around the waist of somebody who would defend it with honor and pride… somebody who wouldn’t risk dropping out of this company at a moment’s notice like so many people already have since the BWF’s reopening. Somebody the fans could believe in as Champion. Gabe Shelley might have been the Superman Champion to the fans, but me? I’m their Next-Gen Heroine.
Don McMichael: Excuse me, but... you've been referring to yourself as the "Next-Gen Heroine" for the last few weeks, along with calling yourself "the hero BWF deserves". Would you care to elaborate?
Emily smiles.
Emily Corlen: Of course, Don. See, unlike some heroes, I don't have to wear a mask. I don't have a secret identity. What you see is what you get, and what you see is going to be leaving Tainted Twilight STILL your BWF World Champion. I am the rightful heir to the BWF World Championship. Tonight, I walk out of Tainted Twilight with this title and show every single person in the AoWF why I deserve this title. Finale, Anton Chase and Star Diamond learn firsthand that while they might be the future of the BWF… Emily Corlen is the present, and ‘now’ has never, ever looked better.
Emily turns back to Don, smirking.
Emily Corlen: Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a Championship reign to vindicate. Haters be damned.
Emily slaps Don on the back hard, then walks off, leaving him all by himself.
Don McMichael: Rayne, Nick… back to you!
BWF United States Championship Match
Matt Stone [c] Vs. Corey Lazarus Vs. Abbie Edwards
"Pretty Girl Rock" by Keri Hilson hits the BlazenTron as Abbie Edwards walks onto the stage, a flaunting bounce to her walk. In fact, she is so bubbly on her way to the ring, she nearly skips. Before entering the ring, Abbie gives a random crowd member a peck on the cheek. Her entrance into the ring is slow and deliberate, followed by a devilish grin once through the ropes as her music fades.
The lights in the arena die, and the ADC-Tron shows nothing but a black and white film countdown, the film flickering and a beep heard after every digit. A trio of drumrolls cue up Slayer's "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida," and the guitars ring as the bass carries the main melody. Chug-chug-chug-chug goes both guitars before going into the main melody along with the bass, and, at the 27-second mark, Corey Lazarus and Gregory Price emerge from the entrance curtain, with Price chomping away on a stick of gum in his mouth as Corey sips on a bottle of Aquafina. Laz's eyes, as usual, stay hidden behind his trademark pair of silver-rimmed Ray Ban's, and he hangs his arms at his sides after he runs his fingers over his moustache and goatee.
~=In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida, baby!=~
Scott Benjamin: Introducing at this time, accompanied by Gregory Price...
Lazarus steps further onto the stage, turning around slowly to take a quick look at the ADC-Tron before stopping at the end of the stage, his back to the ramp and the ring before turning around. Price pats his client on the shoulder, and then looks at the ADC-Tron with him as Corey cracks his neck to either side, stretching out and jogging in place.
~=Don't you know that I love you?!=~
Scott Benjamin: He weighs in tonight at 230 pounds...
~=In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida, honey!=~
~=Don't you know that I'll ALWAYS be true?!=~
Scott Banjamin: And standing at 6-foot-1...
Lazarus continues to jog in place at the end of the stage as the guitars duel into the start of the first chorus, shaking out his limbs, and then throws a few shadow punches and kicks into the air.
~=Oh, won't you come with me?=~
~=And take my hand?=~
Price points up at the ADC-Tron, focusing everybody's attention to more clips of Laz's glory: dropping Demise head-first into a casket via the Mercury Driver to claim the PWA World Heavyweight title at High Stakes '08; drilling Riona Langly with a picture-perfect example of the Sands of Ishtar for his first Intercontinental title at Genesis IX; dropping Thunderwolf down with the Box Office Bomb to claim the first fall in their classic 2/3 Falls match at Genesis X; and, most recently, sending Cody Bogard through the Million Dollar Pyramid on the 8/9/2010 edition of Chaos.
~=Oh, won't you come with me?!=~
~=And walk this land?!=~
Scott Benjamin: Hailing from Hollywood, California...
The guitars divebomb, and Laz starts making his way down the ramp, looking out around the arena, spying on every bit of the crowd in front of him.
~=PLEASE, TAKE MY HAND!!=~
The drums beat along as Corey bangs his head with them and the main melody of the song returns, Lazarus taking a sip from his Aquafina as he stops halfway down the ramp.
~=In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida, baby!=~
~=Don't you know that I love you?!=~
Laz jaws with some fans in the front row before turning back around to watch himself on the ADC-Tron, his trademark devilish smirk on his face as he walks backwards down the ramp.
Scott Benjamin: He is "The Premiere Attraction"...
~=In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida, honey!=~
~=Don't you know that I'll ALWAYS be true?!=~
Corey turns around to face the ring as they reach the bottom of the ramp, the guitars dueling before the chorus, and then pulls himself up onto the apron, placing one foot in the ring between the top and middle ropes, using one hand to hold the top rope for balance and the other to cover his eyes as he scans the crowd again. Price walks over to the ringsteps, scaling them with a cocky swagger as he walks onto the apron next to Laz.
Scott Benjamin: ...COREY LAZARUS!!!
~=Oh, won't you come with me?!=~
~=And take my hand?!=~
Lazarus steps into the ring and then walks to the middle of the ring, his hands on his hips and his trademark devilish smirk on his face. Price steps in afterwards, pointing the entire time to his client, applauding him. The music keeps pounding away as Corey drops to a knee, his head bowed and a single fist placed on the mat, his other hand resting on his knee.
~=Oh, won't you come with me?!=~
~=And walk this land?!=~
The guitars divebomb again as Lazarus bobs his head to the beat of the drums, breathing heavier and heavier as he does so.
~=PLEASE, TAKE MY HAND!!=~
Corey leaps to his feet as the main riff returns at the end of the chorus, his arms spread out to his side after he rips his Ray Ban's off, turning his body around to all sides of the arena as flashbulbs go off everywhere. "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" fades into silence as Corey backs up to his corner, removing his Ray Ban's and handing them off to Price. He adjusts the tape on his hands and then stretches his legs out, using the middle ropes, before shadow-boxing. Gregory steps out onto the apron and walks down the steps, taking his place at ringside in Laz's corner.
Say whoa (whoa)
The more I feed it (whoa)
The more I need it (whoa)
Whoa
You say whoa
Whoa is me
I'm so whoa
Matt Stone comes out from the back to a chorus of boos. He struts down the ramp towards the ring, wearing his patterned hoodie with a large Maple Leaf on the back. He threatens to hit a member of the crowd who was holding up a "Canada sucks" sign and just walks on.
Say whoa (whoa)
The more I feed it (whoa)
The more I need it (whoa)
Whoa
You say whoa
Whoa is me
I'm so whoa
Matt gets on the apron and gets inside the ring, heading straight to a corner and mounts the middle turnbuckle raising his hands. "I'm the best there is!" He shouts out over the loud jeers being rained down on him. He shakes his head to their reaction. "You don't deserve to see me!" He shouts out getting down and taking off the hoodie. Matt gets ready for his opponents, bouncing off the ropes to loosen up as his music fades away.
LAZ and Edwards start to circle the United States champion Matt Stone as the bell sounds to start our match.
DING!
LAZ wastes no time and turns to face Stone and blasts him with a shot. Stone staggers backwards and dropkicks Lazarus in the knee, sending him to the mat. Edwards ties up with Stone but she’s sent into the corner. The US champ charges and lands a hard clothesline. He pulls Edwards out of the corner and lifts her for a suplex. Edwards comes crashing to the mat as Lazarus is laying in wait. LAZ doesn’t let Stone get to his feet without a hard elbow to the side of the head. LAZ follows it up with a stiff kick to the left leg of Stone and then quickly locks up with him. Stone blocks a forearm and lands a spinning neckbreaker.
Edwards is to her feet and looks for a kick to the gut on Stone but he catches it and spins her around before hitting a standing dropkick. Stone jumps to his feet and doesn’t hesitate to get Edwards to her feet. He goes to lock in for a German suplex but it’s broken up by Lazarus. LAZ kicks Stone in the shin and he falls to a knee. Lazarus completes the Coming Attractions (After dropping the opponent to a knee, Corey hits a stiff low roundhouse kick to their upper back followed by another one to their chest in quick succession before hitting the ropes, using their elevated knee upon rebound as a springboard to twist around behind them, delivering a stiff knee to the back of their head.) and Stone falls to the mat.
Edwards and LAZ lock up and the Premiere Attraction is sent into the ropes with an Irish whip. Edwards meets him on the rebound with a crossbody and a cover.
1!
Kickout!
Edwards goes to lift LAZ to his feet but as he stands he lands a hard kick to her gut. Stone comes running in from behind and hits a flipping neckbreaker. He pops to his feet and he and LAZ explode with lefts and rights. Stone starts to get the upper hand after a cheap rake to the eyes and a kick to the gut. He looks for the C-c-c-c-combo Breaker! (Codebreaker) but LAZ hits a modified spinebuster.
Edwards is up and is out of it after hitting her head hard on the mat. She tries to swing at LAZ but he ducks and connects with a big back breaker. Stone is up and is ready to attack. Stone and Lazarus start to circle each other and Stone drops to the mat and rolls out of the ring. He starts to make his way up the ramp and says the fans don’t deserve him. He walks behind the curtain and LAZ seems confused. Edwards is back to her feet and he’s waiting, dropping her with the Box Office Bomb (Corey applies a front facelock with the opponent's arm draped over his shoulder and the closest leg hooked, much like a Fisherman's Suplex. Laz lifts his opponent up vertically, and then releases their head as he drops to his knees. The result is the opponent landing on the back of their head, neck, and upper shoulders as Corey pushes down on their legs, adding velocity to the drop.).
He covers!
1!
2!!
3!!!
Scott Benjamin: Your winner AND NEW BWF United States Champion... Corey Lazarus!
Nick Webb: What the hell got into Matt Stone? He just... left.
Rayne: I don’t know but in both of our matches we’ve had the title change hands. Will we see it happen three for three?
The Demon Doctor of Destroying Daisies Describes Devious Deeds
Backstage we caught BWF Chairman Gabe Shelley walking down the halls fiddling with his cell phone. He stopped and entered his office with the camera following, to reveal Finale sitting at his desk with his feet up. Shelley acts as if it's nothing and sits down across from the World title contender, not looking up from his Blackberry.
Gabe Shelley: I've seen this before, what do you want Finale?
Finale smirks while simultaneously he feigns looking sad.
Finale: That's just a rude hello, that's what that is. I take the time to come in here to talk to you and you can't even look up from your telephone. I thought you were The People's Chairman Gabriel.
Shelley looks up at The Buffalo Butcher and is unimpressed.
Gabe Shelley: Get to the point Finale, I don't really have time for your games. I'm trying to run a pay per view here.
Finale: Then get to the point I will. The fact is, I came here to apologize Gabe. I came here to tell you that we are not enemies. Sure, you've made some extremely questionable decisions in the last few weeks and sure, I've been turning up the suck in the ring. However I feel we can get past it. Tonight we can start fresh, when I become BWF World Champion.
Shelley laughs.
Gabe Shelley: Based on your performances as of late, I shouldn't count on you becoming champion.
Finale: No, you shouldn't count me out. As I've said, tonight I am going to turn BWF on it's ear. I won't be cliche and talk about how this is the beginning of a new era because honestly, I don't know that it is. However what I do know is that you want to be present for what occurs tonight. You will want to bare witness in person.
Gabe Shelley: Are you trying to worry me? What exactly do you have planned? This is my show Finale, lest you forget. I am BWF Chairman now and I know everything that is going on at my events.
Finale: Of course, of course. You are the boss. The omniscient leader, I get it. And I can hang with that as long as you can hang with what is going to happen tonight. BWF is on fucking life support but luckily for you Gabe, The Butcher is also a Demon Doctor of Destroying Daisies. Being such, it qualifies me to save this company. To perform open heart surgery in that very ring tonight.
The marVel sits, examining his employee for a moment.
Finale: It's okay Gabriel, you don't have to speak. Just know that what I am doing is to save BWF, you just come down to the ring and watch history unfold, alright?
Gabe Shelley: I think-
Finale jumps up from the seat and heads for the door, cutting The Chairman off as he passes by.
Finale: Super, we'll see ya then.
The self-proclaimed Demon Doctor of Destroying Daisies slams the door behind him, leaving Shelley somewhat mystified.
BWF World Championship Match
Emily Corlen [c] Vs. Anton Chase Vs. Star Diamond Vs. Finale
Nick Webb: I hope you’re ready because the next match could very well chance the future of the BWF. Emily Corlen more or less proclaimed herself as the BWF World Champion the night when Gabe Shelley stepped down. Since then she’s been hounded by many members of the AoWF community and vows to walk away as the champion tonight.
Rayne: Then there’s Finale, who many believe doesn’t deserve the shot he has tonight after losing over the past few weeks. That’s why Anton Chase and Star Diamond were added to this match.
Lights go dim and the crowd awaits the next person to step though the curtain. "That’s Entertainment" by Powerman 5000 hits the PA! Star Diamond steps though to be greeted with boos. He walks down the ramp flipping fans off. With his brother Andy Sensation right behind him, doing about the same. Star stops looks at some of the fans, and dusts himself off. He slides into the ring jumps up on to the middle rope and holds his hand up high giving a shout out to the crowd as he turns around and begins to wait for the bell. His brother Andy continues to circle the ring and yells at fans.
Nick Webb: Star Diamond has had a shot at the BWF Title before and could not leave the battle with Gabe Shelley as champion.
As "Faint" By Linkin Park blasts over the BlazenTron, white smoke fills the entrance way as a person is seen behind the white smoke. The person steps forward in front of the white smoke... Anton Chase! He makes his way down the ramp with a cocky smile on his face and his arms out at the side, then climbs in the ring and climbs the second ropes and puts one hand up in the air as his music fades.
Rayne: And then there’s Anton Chase who has had a tremendous start to his BWF career. This could be the biggest night in his career.
The opening chords of "Better Off Dead" by Death From Above 1979 cue up and as soon as the song really kicks in pyro explodes with a blinding white flash on the stage. Purple and green lights lay down over the crowd and everyone's attention is to the stage. By the time the smoke settles Finale is at the top of the ramp, standing by himself. He collects his thoughts at the entrance way and stares down his competitors. He makes his way to the ring and walks around before sliding into the ring under the ropes.
Rayne: Finale is ready to fight here and now. Although, where’s Ramona?
Scott Benjamin: And finally, she is the current and reigning BWF World Champion… hailing from Los Angeles, California, and weighing in tonight at 140 pounds… she is the Emerald Phoenix… she is EMILY CORLEN!!!
Go!
The lights in the arena cut to black and emerald strobe lights begin circling around the crowd and stage area as “Just Close Your Eyes” by Story of the Year hits the BlazenTron! As the crowd cheers loudly, "The Emerald Phoenix" Emily Corlen walks out onto the stage, her arms outstretched akin to wings, the BWF World Championship strapped securely to her waist. She sweeps her arms over her head and closes them around her mouth, screaming loudly before a single blast of pyro goes off behind her.
If you close your eyes, your life, a naked truth revealed
Dreams you never lived and scars never healed
(Scars never healed)
In the darkness, life will take you to the other side
And find me waiting there, you'll see if you just close your eyes
If you just close your eyes
(If you just close your eyes)
The strobe lights slow down as Emily begins making her way down the ramp. By the time she reaches ringside, the strobe lights have completely stopped and emerald colored spotlights have begun swirling around the crowd and ring.
Deceived by my eyes and all I was told I should see
Opinions not mine, the person they taught me to be
One night in the dark, a vision of someone I knew
And out of the darkness, I heard a voice say “I'm you”
After making her way around the ring once, Emily hoists herself onto the apron and enters the ring through the first and second ropes, unstrapping the BWF World Title from her waist as she does so.
Inside of me a light was turned on… then I was alive
Emily makes her way to all four corners of the ring, climbing up each and holding the BWF World Championship high over her head, glaring at each one of her opponents, taking extra time to glare into the eyes of Finale.
Never thought I would be here, so high in the air
This was my unanswered prayer
Defined by another, so much wasted time
Out of the darkness, each breath that I take will be mine
As the lights return to normal and the music fades, Emily slowly paces around the canvas, glancing out to the still-cheering crowd and smirking. She hands the BWF World Championship off to the referee, then takes her place in the nearest vacant corner, staring across the ring at her adversaries with a look of steel determination.
Nick Webb: Emily Corlen is ready, the fans are ready.
DING!
The bell sounds to signal the start of the match. The four competitors start to circle each other before Chase, Star, and Finale all eye Corlen. The three pounce on the champion and start to land a series of lefts and rights as she is backed up into the corner. The fans boo as Corlen is taken to a knee and the three competitors taking turns attacking.
Corlen starts to fight to her feet and pushes Star backwards, sending him to his back and rolling. She swings and hits a massive right on Chase before turning to Finale and the two lock up. She ducks under a haymaker from Finale and locks her hands for a German suplex. She goes to lift him and he rolls forward, tripping her up and locks in the Buffalo '66 (Heel Hook) and Corlen is in pain. She starts to fight her way to the ropes and is able to break the hold.
Finale pops to his feet and in charges Chase. Chase lands a hard kick on Finale and drops him with a snap suplex and rolls to his feet. Finale isn’t far behind and walks right into another stiff kick and a set up for a fisherman’s suplex. Finale lands a few hard kidney shots and lands a neckbreaker and rolls right into an armbar.
Elsewhere, Corlen and Star are battling back and forth as Star charges off the ropes. He connects with a spear that sends Corlen into the corner. Star starts to explode with hard shots but Corlen ducks one of the shots and tackles Star into the mat. She lifts him up and sends him running off the ropes and takes him down with the Spiral Twister (Black Hole Slam). Finale and Chase are still going at it and Finale now has his opponent locked into a triangle choke hold, allowing Corlen to keep her attention on Star.
She pulls him to his feet and they lock back up but the champion is quick to the get the upperhand. She locks him into a hammerlock and Finale comes charging in with a forearm to Corlen. Star and Finale start to double team the champion as the fans boo. Star wrenches Corlen’s arm and Finale comes charging in with a hard kick to the shoulder. Star follows it up with a jumping arm breaker and pops back up to his feet.
Star and Finale turn their attention to Chase who is getting back to his feet. Chase comes running at Star but walks right into a drop toe hold from Finale. Star begins to set Chase up for a wheel barrow suplex and Finale leaps off the second rope aiding him with a modified Godamnit (Rope Hang Fameasser). Chase's face is driven hard into the mat as he seems to be in pain. Finale and Star go to turn their attention back to Corlen and Finale hits the ropes and blasts Star with a running arched big boot! Blood starts to come out of Star’s nose as he kicks his feet against the mat in pain. Finale stands over him and laughs as Corlen comes in with a back drop.
Both competitors get right back up and Corlen looks for her Seventh Heaven (Two-handed Chokeslam) but Finale flips over her arm and locks in the Snake Oil (Cross Arm Breaker). Corlen starts to gain her footing under herself and refuses to submit. She starts to over-power Finale and lifts him as she stands, driving him into the mat with a one-armed powerbomb. Finale refuses to let go of her arm and keeps the pressure on as Corlen lifts him again. She drives him back into the mat and is able to get free from the hold.
Corlen turns and Chase is back to his feet and the two lock up. He slides behind her and tries to wrestle her down with a belly to back suplex but Corlen stands her ground. She reaches behind herself and hits a snapmare on Chase. He rolls to his feet and walks right into a BOOM! Headshot! (Chick Kick) Star is back up as well as he tries to wipe the blood away from his nose and gets dropped with the Catalyst (Glam Slam)!
Finale is back up and comes running in, looking for his big boot but Corlen moves and he takes out the referee! Finale turns and locks back up with Corlen and takes her down with the Tiger Blood (Cattle Mutilation). Corlen tries to battle out but can’t get to her feet. She reaches for the ropes but can’t reach the ropes. Chase is up and breaks up the hold and starts to lay into Finale with a series of stomps.
Corlen rolls away to regain her composure and out runs a second referee. Finale is pulled to his feet and ducks a clothesline attempt. He lifts Chase up and drops him with the Stripper's Real Name (Vertebreaker)! He covers and the second referee counts!
One!
Two!!
Corlen dives in and breaks up the hold the the cheers of the fans. Corlen is up and is attacked from behind from Star. Finale and Chase start to battle as Star and Corlen fight across the ring. Finale sets Chase up for a tiger suplex but drops him to the mat and locks in the Tiger Blood! Corlen ducks a jumping calf kick from Star and locks in the Faith Breaker (Argentine Leglock).
The fans are going crazy as the second referee calls for the bell as Chase starts to tap, Star tapping and the first referee sees it and calls for the bell too.
DING DING DING!
Standing on the stage is BWF Owner Gabe Shelley who had saw the end of the match and shakes his head. He makes his way to the ring and says something to the first match referee and makes his way up the ramp. The referee takes the BWF Championship and hands it to Finale as the fans erupt in boos.
Scott Benjamin: Your winner and the NEW BWF World Champion... Finale!
He stares at it for a moment, looking at his reflection. He then looks out into the crowd and slowly climbs to the top turnbuckle, with the belt still in his hand and then he enthusiastically raises it over his head. The crowd boos louder as he holds the title high. He then drops down out of the ring and jumps into the crowd, who scatter as far away from Finale as they can get. Both Star Diamond and Anton Chase have retreated to the back, leaving Emily Corlen all alone in the ring. She stands and earns an ovation from the crowd as Finale has made his way up to a balcony.
Nick Webb: An incredible showing from Emily Corlen tonight, but Finale barely squeaked one out, breaking his embarrassing losing streak in the process.
The Emerald Phoenix stares at Finale, way up in the crowd for a moment until the lights in the arena go out. The crowd buzzes as everything is pitch dark. Suddenly a low hum and buzz, like that of a dial-up internet modem screeches through the p.a. Purple lights begin flashing off and on.
Nick Webb: What the hell is going on?
Rayne: The pay per view is almost over, we don't have time for...
Rayne is cut-off when "ATX" by Alberta Cross cues up. Corlen can be seen in the ring staring towards the entrance ramp. The song reaches a fever pitch when a figure comes through the crowd and slides into the ring. He socks Corlen in the back of the head, putting her face down on the mat. The lights come up to reveal eWo mainstay, Godless! The Sedition Rising leader takes hold of a microphone with one hand and is brandishing a rope wrapped around his other. Corlen gets up and Godless nails her in the head with the mic, putting her back down.
Godless: Boy am I glad that match is over. I was waiting in the crowd for so long Corlen, waiting so long for you to lose. Oh I'm sorry...it's Maverick now. You sure stayed true to your new surname tonight Emily...I jest. Seriously though, horrible performance.
Nick Webb: What match did this idiot watch? Emily dominated!
Corlen tries to get up and Godless boots her in the side of the head.
Godless: And now, I show you what happens when you come into my house and insult my people. You are going to rue the day you ever spoke ill of Sedition Rising.
Godless then points to the roof and a noose begins to lower. Godless puts the rope in his hand around her neck and begins choking her out earning serious boos from the crowd. Godless is eerily calm as he chokes the life out of the former World Champion.
Nick Webb: This is disgusting, who is this guy?
Rayne: This is Kelly Godless. This hack has been at the center of a lot of brutal occurrences in eWo. Now he's brought his plague to the AoWF. If it helps put it in perspective, he used to roll with Alexis Sykes.
Nick Webb: Dear god...someone needs to get out here fast...
The noose lowers right beside Godless and he slams Corlen down to the mat with his knee on her back. He takes hold of the lowered noose and begins to try and fix it around Corlen's neck. He has trouble with it and then becomes completely distracted when the crowd erupts with cheers. Finale is sprinting back through the crowd towards the ring, world title in hand.
Nick Webb: Thank god! The champion is coming to his rival's aid!
Rayne: This seems very un-Finale.
The Buffalo Butcher slides into the ring and Godless is ready for him. The two converge on each other as Corlen slowly gets up. She stands and Finale bypasses Godless, nailing The Emerald Phoenix with an arched big boot to the face! She staggers back and catches herself on the top rope. Finale then smashes her in the face with the World title, causing her to crumple to the mat.
Nick Webb: Now THAT seems like Finale. Poor Emily, this is disgusting. I've heard of sore losers, but sore winners? Someone get this asshole and his damn posse out of here!
Rayne: This is what Finale was talking about earlier; don't tell me he's the latest person to drink Godless' Kool Aid.
Nick Webb: Sure looks that way to me. Shame it isn't spiked with cyanide.
Finale gets Corlen up and she tries to fight back but he subdues her with a knee to the mid-section. He then plants her hard with the Stripper's Real Name as the crowd rains boos and garbage into the ring. Godless laughs and takes hold of Maverick, finally getting the noose around her neck. Finale and Godless nod to each other, ignoring anything around them, including the fact that the Shelley twins are running down the rampway, their titles in their hands. The girls slide into the ring and stand up, Finale and Godless finally turn to face them only to be met with tag titles being slammed into their heads. After the men fall to the mat, the brunette girls run to Corlean and untie the noose from around her neck. Dropping their titles, Aria Shelley helps Emily out of the ring carefully, as Noelle makes it to her feet.
Rayne: Finally, some decency! Good for the girls... get Finale and his girlfriend out of here!
Suddenly behind Noelle, Finale jumps to his feet, a sick smile on his face. Noelle turns to grab their titles and Finale slams his own title into her head hard, knocking her down to the mat. Aria runs back to the ring and slides in, but quickly gets caught by Godless. Struggling to get to her sister, Aria manages to break away from Godless, only to be caught by Finale. Noelle Shelley starts to slowly make it to her feet, a small trace of blood on her head. Godless grabs a handful of brown hair and drags Noelle over to the noose. He grabs the noose with the other hand and starts to slip it over Noelle’s head.
Nick Webb: This is disgusting. They can't really hang The Chairman’s Niece!
Rayne: Many people have hung before. BWF legends like Adriana Garcia, The Executioner, Cody Clark and more. This is nothing new, it's just new to BWF, Nick.
Nick Webb: Is this what it has come to? This is professional wrestling, not a Goddamn snuff film! Someone call the damn cops! This is out of hand!
The crowd erupts one more time as Gabe Shelley emerges from the curtains, swinging a Singapore cane. Finale lets Aria go only long enough to swing back and slam his title into her head, just like her sister, seconds before Chairman Shelley slides into the ring. Finale and Godless drop to the mat and roll out of the ring, laughing. They start backing up the ramp, Finale holding his new World Title in the air, as marVel kneels over his bleeding nieces and the show fades to the BWF logo, then to black.
