Episode 191 - March 13, 2015
Nick Webb: Welcome everyone! Tonight we roll on closer to Happenstance with two more qualifying matches. Also tonight we see an International championship number one contender match and much more. We also hope to have some information for you all as, if you were with us for Breakthrough, you saw Roxxy Pitt injure her knee in a match against Spykeman.
Michaels came out to the match with a lot of fire as she was set to compete against Campbell. She tried to keep Casey off his feet as with a few drop toe holds and leg locks. Campbell started to mount some offense after catching Michaels for a belly to belly. Campbell overpowered Michaels with hard blows that rocked her, staggering the young talent. Michaels came diving from the second rope but got rocked with a PWNED!!! (Spear) Campbell covered and picked up the win.
WINNER: Casey Campbell, via pinfall 8:33
Campbell stood in the ring and celebrated over Michaels and says “one down”.
Karloff was joined ringside by Nael, who sat in a steel chair by the ramp in a black dress with a red cloak, as Karloff appeared to be in the “Manticore” mindframe for tonight’s match. He came fast and hard at Lenko who couldn’t gain any traction from the start. Karloff would look at Nael from time to time and she’d point and nod to him before he’d attack Lenko again. Karloff picked up an easy win after hitting the Psychlotrode X (Corkscrew 630 Splash).
WINNER: Martin Karloff, via pinfall 5:35
Karloff pulled Lenko to his feet and started to land hard right hands as he leans him against the ropes. Karloff tossed Lenko to the ground with the Sine Bucca (Mandible Claw STO) before finally letting go to start mounting and punching Lenko, bloodying him. He jumps to his feet and looks down at Lenko as Nael is there to pat him on the back as he heads to the back. We cut ringside where Webb and Rayne are set to give us an update on Roxxy Pitt and word is that she suffered from torn MCL and will be out of action for a few weeks.
We’re set for the next match-up and Webb points out that Nael is still sitting ringside. Akemi and Scott are set to compete and Scott tries to shake hands with her opponent beforehand but Akemi quickly locked up with the former International Champ. Akemi got some good offense in early and she tried to dictate the match and even tried to catch Scott off guard with a roll up but only got two. Akemi tried for the Grapey Marshmallow Fizz (Shining Axe Kick) but Scott pushed her way. Scott hit the Seeing Stars (Springboard Colliding Headbutt) and quickly followed it up with the Pocketful of Sunshine (Lungblower Backbreaker to back of opponent’s head) and dove into a pinfall win.
WINNER: Sabrina Scott, via pinfall 9:44
Dagger in the Dark
After the match, even as her theme plays in victory, Sabrina tries to console Akemi after the loss and still be her friend because besties. Smiling softly, Sabrina offers her hand for a handshake. Suddenly, Nael hops to her feet with a mic, folding and carrying her chair into the ring as she speaks.
Nael: That was a great match and all, you two, and I hate to break up the code of honor here... but Akemi is having issues lately and I know the reason why. You see, the both of you seem to be confused as to what it is we do around here.
Nael then drops the mic, gets her free hand on the chair she brought into the ring with her and puts her entire weight behind a swing at Sabrina's head. Nael throws herself into the hit so hard, she almost falls over herself doing it. Sabrina, of course, crumples like a wet napkin.
Nick Webb:: What the hell is that about?
Rayne:: First Lenko, now Sabrina... this chick is crazy! Just what I look for in all my future ex-wives! HA!
Nick Webb:: Will you stop?! This is serious!
Without the mic, Nael turns to Akemi, looking a bit crazed and amped up after delivering the chair shot and screams.
Nael: YOU ARE IN THE BUSINESS OF SUFFERING, GIRL!
She hands over the chair to Akemi, not breaking eye contact.
Nael: If you want to stop receiving... start giving!
Without even the slightest hint of hesitation, Akemi takes the chair from Nael and follows her lead, battering Sabrina with the chair. Loud boos fill the arena, but those boos are quickly shifted into loud cheers as International Champion Jay Blazenwing bolts to the ring, his own chair in hand! He slides into the ring and swings at Akemi and Nael, running the two of them out of the ring. He kneels over Sabrina, who is knocked out cold, and checks on her as Akemi and Nael back up the ramp, the two looking excited and invigorated, not unlike how one might get after having just survived a harrowing experience or a big adrenaline-fueled stunt.
Nick Webb:: I'd say tonight, we've seen the true colors of Akemi Hayashi... and Jay Blazenwing. Good on ya, Jay. At least someone here still cares about standing up for what's right!
Rayne:: Nael's not wrong, though. This ain't ballet, Webb!
Nick Webb:: And that makes her completely unprovoked attack on Sabrina Scott okay?
Rayne:: Well, I mean... y'know, hot redheads and attractive people get to get away with stuff. LAW OF THE LAND! ALL HAIL PRINCESS PRETTY!
Nick Webb:: I'll give you $100 to call her that to her face.
Rayne:: I can't. Because reasons.
As Blazenwing checks on Sabrina Scott and referees and trainers help her out of the ring, Fenryr and Rune made their way to the ring and we’re set to go with our next match. Jay looked out towards Scott once more and it gave Fenryr an opening to attack quick and viciously. Fenryr beat Blazenwing into the corner and started to drive a shoulder into his gut. Fenryr pulled Jay out and hit him with the Maul (Double Axe Handle) off the second rope. Blazenwing got a second wind and started to battle back with all sorts of quick kicks to the sides and legs of Fenryr and an atomic drop. Jay looked for the Blazenwing (Running Discus Elbow) but Fenryr ducked it and hit him with a kick to the gut which was followed by the Hel Road (Double Underhook Powerbomb). Fenryr covered and picked up the win.
WINNER: Fenryr Wulfsson, via pinfall 8:32
Coop d’Etat
As Fenryr and Rune celebrate their win, "Happy" by Pharrell Williams hits the BlazenTron and the crowd cheers as Zoe Cooper heads out to the stage, mic in hand.
Nick Webb: Her song says "Happy", but Zoe looks anything but tonight!
Rayne: With the streak she's on, can you blame her? She's barely won a thing since WrestleFest!
The music dies as Zoe explains that she's had a rough couple of months, but that doesn't change the fact that she's still the woman who went undefeated for an entire year... nor does that change the fact that she's still the longest reigning champion of any kind in BWF history. Her reign as Sovereign Champion broke all kinds of records and put her on the map. Ever since Emily Corlen and Fenryr Wulfsson took that title away from her, nothing's been the same. She has yet to receive a rematch for the Sovereign Title, and she intends to rectify that situation here and now.
Zoe Cooper officially challenges Fenryr Wulfsson for the Sovereign Title at Happenstance! She tells him that the only reason he beat her the last time was because Emily hand-delivered a wounded Champion to his feet. Fenryr takes umbrage with this claim, and despite Rune's arguments that she doesn't deserve to be in the same ring with 'her Champion', Fenryr officially accepts Cooper's challenge, telling her to make peace with whatever deities she prays to at night, because at Happenstance, the shattered remains of her once-proud career will be ground to dust.
Shelley doesn’t back down from Chaney as he enters the ring and the two men go at it right when the bell sounds to start the match and tear into each other. They go back and forth with hard blows that rock each man back and forth. Shelley looks for a spinebuster but Chaney hits a axe handle smash to the back of Shelley and the staggers him with a few bionic elbows. Chaney hits a cactus clothesline and both men spilled out of the ring. Chaney tossed Shelley into the stairs as the referee yelled at the World Champion to get back into the ring. Chaney finally tossed Shelley back in the ring. Shelley attacked Chaney as he tried to roll into the ring with hard kicks and mounted with hard blows before the referee told Shelley to get up as Chaney was still tangled in the ropes and made a four disqualification count. Shelley looked for the Jersey Cutter (Twist of Fate) but Chaney spun out and hit a kick to the gut followed by a gutwrench powerbomb. Chaney started to mount an offensive and would clothesline Shelley every time he tried to stand. After a few more bionic elbows, Chaney hit the Set Up (Double Arm DDT) in the middle of the ring and yelled at Shelley to get up so he could deliver the Punchline but “Centuries” by Fall Out Boy starts to play over the BlazenTron and the fans await Elena Simonova. Chaney yells for Simonova to bring it but she’s nowhere to be found as Shelley pops up and hits Chaney with the Fallout (Zig Zag) and pick up the win.
WINNER: Gabe Shelley, via pinfall 11:32
After the match, Elena Simonova walks out onto the stage and Gabe Shelley stands tall with the BWF World Title in his hands. Chaney has rolled out to the outside and as he pulls himself up, he finally begins to realize the situation ahead of him in two weeks' time at Happenstance.
Nick Webb: Are Elena Simonova and Gabe Shelley working as one?!
Rayne: These two are practically legends on their own - if they're united against Chaney... well, I suddenly don't like his chances very much! Beating AJ Adams is impressive... but Simonova and Shelley together?!
Nick Webb: Happenstance just became a whole hell of a lot more unpredictable, Rayne!
Shelley celebrates in the ring as we fade to black, logo, black.
