Episode 189 - February 20, 2015
Nick Webb: Welcome everyone to Havok #190. As always I am Nick Webb. Alongside me is my partner, Rayne. We’re one week removed from Hearts on Fire where we saw a new champion crowned.
Rayne: Allen Chaney destroyed AJ Adams. Have you heard a peep from AJ since? No Twitter presence, no comment, unavailable for Aftershock on the BWF’s site. Nothing!
Rayne: Allen Chaney destroyed AJ Adams. Have you heard a peep from AJ since? No Twitter presence, no comment, unavailable for Aftershock on the BWF’s site. Nothing!
Nick Webb: You’re right about that, Rayne. We have not heard from AJ Adams since his loss last week and we’re 3 weeks away from Happenstance which will emanate from his hometown of Los Angeles. Earlier on Breakthrough we saw two competitors move on in the Happenstance Qualifiers and we’ll see two more do so here tonight.
Rayne: And how about Chaney and Fenryr taking on Gabe Shelley and Elena Simonova?
Rayne: And how about Chaney and Fenryr taking on Gabe Shelley and Elena Simonova?
Nick Webb: Tonight’s main event will be electric, that’s for sure.
The first match of the night started with Hayashi and Cloud for their teams as Scott cheered loudly for Hayashi in their corner. Hayashi threw lots of elbows and spinning kicks at Cloud that kept him off balance to start the match. Cloud started to mount offense when he surprised Hayashi with a series of headbutts and a suplex. Both tagged out and Strife was met by Scott with a step-up enziguri that made the fans pop. Scott would hit the ropes and clothesline Strife down every time he stood and after the 4th time we saw Scott hit the Seeing Stars (Springboard Colliding Headbutt). Strife tagged out as Scott was stunned which allowed Cloud to hit a spear. Cloud pulled Scott to her feet but she returned with a kick to the gut and then tagged out to Hayashi. Hayashi jumped into the ring and hit a blue thunder bomb to Cloud but only got a two count on a pin attempt. Cloud hit a jawbreaker on Hayashi as she tried to pull him up which was followed up with a brainbuster. Cloud pulled Hayashi to her feet and tagged to Strife. X-Factor hit Hayashi with a double flapjack. She stood up and sent off the ropes and hit with a dropkick from Strife. Strife and Cloud tagged again and Cloud hit a superkick on Hayashi that sent her into the ropes as she leaned against them Scott tagged herself in and springboarded over Cloud and from behind hit the Pocketful of Sunshine (Lungblower Backbreaker to back of opponent’s head) and picked up the pinfall before Strife could know what was going on.
WINNERS: Sabrina Scott and Akemi Hayashi, via pinfall 10:14
Scott tries to celebrate when Hayashi but Hayashi pushes her away, screaming that she stole her win. Scott says she was just trying to help the team.
International Incident
As Sabrina tries to talk to Akemi, Elise Wyatt heads to the stage and informs the two young women that she has a proposition for the two of them. As of this moment, neither of the two women are in the Happenstance Tournament of Kings - but that can change, right here and now. That is, unless, the two women would rather face one another next week for the opportunity to challenge Jay Blazenwing for the International Title at the Happenstance pay-per-view. They only get one option, however, and they need to choose now. Before Akemi gets a chance to speak, Sabrina grabs a mic and tells Elise that she needs another shot at Jay Blazenwing, and if that means not getting the chance to compete in the Happenstance Tournament this year, so be it. Elise tells the women that their path is set, and next week on Havok, we will determine the next #1 Contender to the International Championship. As Elise heads backstage, Akemi stares at Sabrina, dumbfounded... she didn't even get an opportunity to weigh in on the decision herself. Before Sabrina can say anything to her, Akemi rolls out of the ring and heads up the ramp, doing her best to hold in her unpredictable emotions as she goes.
Budding Romance
Will Irwin and Karli Frost walk through the back of the arena. Will is carrying Karli's gym bag for her as they make their way to the women's locker room. When they reach the door, they stop.
Karli: Well, here we go. Another day, another dollar.
Will: Yeah. Look, I understand how you're feeling right now, but I'm sure that you're going to do fine. I have to tell you though, watch out for Chris Maverick. He's a little...
Will whistles, imitating a cuckoo clock. Karli smiles and nods.
Karli: Thanks. I wanted to thank you, though. You've been a huge help.
Will: It's just a gym bag.
Karli: No, it's more than that. You're, like, the only person around here that has any confidence in me right now.
Will: You'll be fine. You've only had matches with Rune, and that woman makes Maverick look...I don't know...is there a word for "more than sane"? You're going to win tonight, and then you're going to win the Happenstance tournament. When you do that, other people will have to take notice of you. It's going to work out, you'll see.
Karli: Yeah, I guess. Alright...give me a kiss before I go to work.
Will gives Karli a peck on the cheek. She shakes her head.
Karli: That's not a kiss, Will.
She grabs both sides of his head and really lays one on him.
Karli: That's a kiss. I swear, if I have to teach you everything this relationship won't last. Or...maybe it'll be fun. I'll give you a couple more lessons tonight. Just to see how it goes. Now, wish me luck.
Will: Good luck.
Karli: Give me a hug.
Will hugs her, his hand moving down her back towards her ass. She smiles and playfully shoves him away.
Karli: That's not a hug, Will!
Karli enters the dressing room, shuts the door behind her, and Will walks away.
Webb and Rayne highlight Van Biafra’s loss at Hearts on Fire but speculate on his ability on winning the Happenstance Tournament and both agree that the Hound of Hell’s Kitchen has all the tools needed to go the distance. Biafra appeared to not be 100% going into the match and Jacobson took advantage of that as he immediately went to work on Biafra with a belly to belly and rolled over to a headlock. Jacobson applied an armbar and started to work the shoulder of Biafra but it was reversed when Biafra was able to roll to his knees and break the hold. Jacobson kept the attack coming fast and tried to not allow Biafra to gain any leverage as he hit him with a running big boot. Biafra crawled into the corner and Jacobson attempted a running boot again but Biafra rolled out of the way and blasted him with the Quickiller (Spinning Backfist) as he stood. Biafra was able to mount offense with a few exploder suplexes and then a big sitout spinebuster. Jacobson got to his feet and hit a shoulder block that sent Biafra into the ropes but he explodes off them with the Instant Karma (Rebound Lariat). He let a roar and pulled Jacobson to his feet and hit the Full Moon Special (Jumping Package Piledriver) and picked up the pinfall.
WINNER: Van Biafra, via pinfall 10:25
One Step Closer
The cameras shifted backstage where Don McMichael was standing by with one of the number one contenders, Gabe Shelley.
Don McMichael: Gabe, last week at Hearts on Fire you defeated Johnny Maverick to now be moving on to Happenstance where you will face Elena Simonova and the BWF World Champion Allen Chaney for the title. With the impressive showing by Allen are you at all concerned?
Gabe looks at Don, dumbfounded.
Gabe Shelley: No. Happenstance was a good night because I took on someone I respected and when I defeated Johnny Maverick it got me one step closer to the BWF World Championship. Then we all sat in the back and watched what Allen did to AJ and many were impressed. BWF hasn’t seen a champion like Allen in a long time. I’m not concerned because I’ve been up against guys like Allen before. I’m not concerned because after a decade of doing this I’ve been through everything and I’m still standing. I know he’s going to bring it and I’ll be 100% ready for him.
Don McMichael: Tonight you team with Elena Simonova and we’re 3 weeks away from Happenstance. Do you think you’ll have issues teaming with her tonight?
Gabe Shelley: I think Elena and I will be able to get on long enough to compete. This isn’t going to be like Biafra and Fenryr teaming a few weeks ago where we’re two heated rivals. I know that Elena and I are both focused on Happenstance and beating the team of Fenryr and Allen will just get us one step closer to the event.
Don McMichael: Strategy?
Gabe starts to smile as he pats Don on the shoulder.
Gabe Shelley: Same one as always, Don. Go out and try to win the match.
Frost and Maverick are set to compete as Rayne ogles over Frost while pointing out he can’t understand Will Irwin but is cut off and Webb points out the tough start that she’s had to her career with a seemingly strange feud with Rune Sigidottir. Frost ducked an incoming clothesline and hit a Russian leg sweep to start the match. Frost lifted Maverick to his feet and began an assault that considered of a splash in the corner, a stalling suplex, and a sleeper slam. Maverick started to battle back when he was able to headbutt Frost in the back of the head and hit an electric chair drop. Maverick hit a jumping fist drop and climbed the ropes. Frost racked Maverick on the top turnbuckle and springboarded up and hit a frankensteiner that sent Maverick flying across the ring. Frost jumped to the top turnbuckle and connected with the Tomkitty (Long-range diving frog splash double elbow drop) and cover for the win.
WINNER: Karli Frost, via pinfall 8:22
Frost celebrated her win as she rolled out of the ring and headed up the ramp.

Fenryr paces in front of Rune. At times his fists clench before slowly relaxing, only to clench again a few moments later.
Rune: It's the main event, Fenryr. This is the match that everyone wants to see. I don't need to tell you about Gabe Shelley, Elena Simonova, or even Alan Chaney. This is the top of the heap and for the first time since we've gotten here you're up there with them. I know I haven't been the best manager over the last few weeks...
Fenryr: You've had other things to think about. Your distraction doesn't bother me.
Rune: And that's what I was going to say. You're doing very well out there, mostly on your own, and I'm glad of it. If my plan goes through, you may be doing a lot of stuff on your own. I'll probably have other things to worry about but I'll still be here for you. You know how it works.
Fenryr: I know. It's fine. I don't care.
Rune: Tonight, though, we have this main event tag team match. You're going out there with the BWF World Champion to face two former World Champions and the current top two contenders. What I need tonight is for the beast to come out. I want the same guy that tossed Van from the top of the cage to retain the Sovereign Title. You want to be main event material, show the management that you deserve it. I don't know what else to tell you. Right now though, Við þurfum að tala í einrúmi um Karli . Að losna við þetta strákur með myndavél , ég er veikur af að horfa á hann.
Fenryr turns and charges at the cameraman, sending the scene to a sudden, smashing black.
Webb and Rayne highlighted the matches of the next competitors at Hearts on Fire as pictures showed on the BlazenTron. Cooper and Maverick got good reactions from the crowd to start their bout. Maverick caught Cooper off guard to start the match as he immediately hit her with the OF!MF! (Running Shotei) and covered but only got two. Cooper popped up and rocked Maverick with left and right jabs before knocking him down with the Roundabout (Spinning Heel Kick). Cooper strung together a series of moves on Maverick, trying to wear down her competitor. Maverick looked for a dragon screw but Cooper popped him with an enziguri and followed it with Kicking it Old School (Numerous kicks in a row) as he rolled to his knees but he ducked the fourth incoming kick and rolled her up for a two count. Maverick was to his feet and met Cooper with a backdrop. Cooper was right back up and walked into a German suplex and Maverick held on, rolled up and hit a second German. Maverick held on and finished the Maverick Special (2 Germans and a bridging dragon suplex) for another two count. Cooper rolled to her feet and Maverick looked for a second OF!MF! but she rolled to dodge and hit the Revolutions Per Minute (Rolling dodge into spear) and covered for two. Cooper shook her head and measured Maverick up, pulling him to his feet, and looked for the Candy Crush (Sit down facebuster) but Maverick spun her around and hit the Welcome to D.C. (Reverse GTS) and dove into the cover for the win.
WINNER: Johnny Maverick, via pinfall 13:17
Cooper sat up as Maverick rolled out of the ring, in disbelief after another loss. Webb and Rayne couldn’t believe that Cooper lost two matches in a row and she just looked on.
It was time for the night’s main event as the fans were very clearly behind Shelley and Simonova. Shelley and Fenryr started the match off and Fenryr wanted a test of strength and Shelley obliged. Shelley held his own for a bit but Fenryr was able to power Shelley to his knees and then locked in a headlock. Shelley pushed him off and into the ropes but Fenryr met Shelley with a clothesline. Shelley popped up and hit a snap suplex on Fenryr and settled himself into the match as the two exchanged a few more holds. Fenryr with a hammerlock, Shelley with a sleeper, and Fenryr topping it off with an arm wrench. Fenryr was monkey flipped towards Simonova and Shelley tagged out. Shelley and Simonova hit a double running axe handle smash and both finished off Simonova’s Hammer and Sickle (Double axe handle into buzzsaw kick). Simonova covered but only got two. Fenryr powered out with a big kickout and grabbed Simonova and hit a overhead belly to belly. The Sovereign Champion tagged out to the Allen Chaney who entered the ring for the first time and took his time with stomps to Simonova. Chaney pulled Simonova to her feet and rocked her with a shortarmed clothesline. He pulled her to her feet and held her arm and clotheslined her right back down. He dragged her across the ring into his corner and tagged out. Fenryr and Chaney suplexed Simonova in the middle of the ring as Shelley tried to rally his partner. Fenryr pulled her up and lifted her, hitting the 9-9-9 (Gorilla Press Slam) as she came crashing to the mat. She crawled and hit a hot tag to Shelley who jumped into the ring and right into a tilt-a-whirl slam from Fenryr. Fenryr grabbed Shelley around the waist while on the ground and deadlifted him for a gutwrench suplex before tagging back out to Chaney. Chaney entered and took his time once again, picking apart Shelley with calculated blows. Shelley tried to get up and kept getting hit with bionic elbows. Shelley dodged one of the elbows and rolled to his feet and quickly hit a dropkick before climbing to the top rope. He dove, looking for a crossbody, but Chaney caught him with a sitdown spinebuster. Simonova reached out and was able to barely get a tag as Shelley bounced off the mat and came in, quick, trying to catch Chaney off guard with hard kicks. Chaney caught a kick and lifted her, spinebustering her into the mat. Simonova was pulled to her feet and hit with the Punchline (Package Piledriver) and pinned.
WINNERS: Allen Chaney and Fenryr Wulfsson, via pinfall 12:16
Chaney stood over Simonova as Fenryr entered the ring and grabbed both titles from the referee and handed the BWF World Title to Chaney, not letting go for a few seconds as the two men stared at each other. Chaney and Fenryr each said something to each other that caused the fans to start to buzz. It looked like the two men might come to blows before Gabe Shelley attacked Fenryr and pushed him into Chaney. Simonova joined the fray as she and Shelley landed blows on Chaney and Fenryr before sending them up and over the top ropes, sending the fans home happy. We were thanked for joining as we faded to black, logo, black.
