Episode 185 - January 16, 2015
Nick Webb: It's been a rocky journey these last few months, folks, but I'm proud to say that BWF Havok is BACK on the airwaves!
Rayne: We sure as hell are, Nick! We've got new ownership that, I assume, will be making their presence known tonight... and hell, I don't even know what else is gonna happen!
The Moment You've Been Waiting For
The crowd in Chicago pops loudly as Scott Benjamin introduces the man Wrestling News Now outed a few days prior, Rick Leban, Director of Wrestling Operations for BWF affiliate Excelsior Wrestling Society. Leban stands on the stage, mic in hand, and announces that the rumors are partially true - he himself is merely the go-between for the new majority shareholder of the BWF... EWS' Simon Excelsior!
Nick Webb: Simon Excelsior!? You've gotta be kidding me! This is HUGE!
Rayne: Does that mean BWF is a part of EWS now?
Leban goes on to explain that BWF would continue on as an affiliate of the Excelsior Wrestling Society instead of becoming an official part, but that with the closer ties between the companies now, talent exchanges would be possible, so as to avoid EWS competitors like AXW's David Slayton and Las Vegas Fury's Starla Gardevoir skirting breach of contract by showing up on BWF programming dressed up in costume.
Rayne: I TOLD YOU THAT WAS DAVE AND KATIE AT GAUNTLET RUN!
Nick Webb: Oy.
Leban explained to the crowd that EWS and BWF hope to continue to forge a mutually beneficial partnership in the future, and that Simon Excelsior's new position was not one of a takeover; rather, he intends to see BWF thrive as its own entity as it has done for the previous decade plus. To that end, on behalf of Mr. Excelsior, Rick Leban is proud to introduce the BWF fans to the new co-Directors of Operation who will oversee the BWF's day-to-day operation... Jackson and Elise Wyatt!
Meet The Wyatts
Rick Leban steps aside as "Crocodile Rock" by Elton John hits the BlazenTron and Elise Wyatt steps out onto the stage, followed closely by Jackson. They shake Leban's hand, then watch him head back through the curtain before Jackson and Elise make their way to the ring.
Nick Webb: Co-Directors of Operation! We haven't had a married couple in charge since Dave and Jen ran things together back in the day!
Rayne: Damn, are you sure they're married? Maybe she's just a really close sibling with a thing for retired wrestlers slash color commentators!
Nick Webb: Check the rings, buddy.
Rayne: Pfft, yeah, cause I was looking at her hands.
As the music dies down, Jackson and Elise introduce themselves to the BWF fans in attendance. They are indeed married, much to Rayne's disappointment, and have been BWF fans since the company first began airing shows back in 2003. They took jobs with EWS a few years back, worked their way up the corporate ladder behind the scenes, and proved themselves enough that Simon Excelsior was willing to give them this incredible opportunity. One thing Mr. Excelsior was adamant about, and they totally understand why, is that whoever was put in charge of BWF would do so with a neutral mindset.
Nick Webb: Thank the lord!
Both Jackson and Elise talked about how abuse of power ran rampant in BWF for years, from David Blazenwing to Cody Clark to Wade Mason and even as recently as Emily Corlen. Speaking of Emily, Elise was quick to note that despite things ending the way they did at WrestleFest, both her and Jackson were impressed with her effort at the event and wanted to take this moment to officially offer Emily a contract to compete with the BWF - but only as a competitor. She'll have until the end of the January 30 pay-per-view, Survival of the Sickest, to give The Wyatts her official answer.
Rayne: YES! Now, convince my Lizzie bear to re-sign with BWF and you'll be my favorite people ever!
Onto Survival of the Sickest itself. Jackson explained how both he and his wife wanted to make a splash with their first BWF pay-per-view. The situation almost wrote itself, what with the official cancellation of Crisis (which, Elise was quick to note, was not Johnny Maverick's fault at all, Jay Blazenwing!) there were now two World Champions on one weekly program. How to rectify the situation? They needed to only look to the name of the pay-per-view - and the past. In 2007 at Survival of the Sickest, the BWF World Championship, then vacant, was decided in an Elimination Chamber Match. To date, BWF has not hosted another Chamber Match, and both husband and wife agree that eight years is more than long enough. At Survival of the Sickest, the BWF World Championship and Crisis World Championship will be unified inside the Elimination Chamber!
Nick Webb: WOW! Awesome!
But who would be in that Chamber Match? Obviously the Champions, Elena Simonova and Johnny Maverick have their tickets punched to the main event because, as Elise put it, "they're bringing the party favors". That leaves four remaining spots. The first open spot goes to former BWF World Champion Zoe Cooper, who lost the title under a storm of controversy and never got a chance to regain it. The second goes to Gabe Shelley, who faced a similar situation when he was cost the Crisis World Title by AJ Adams, then immediately traded to Havok. The third spot, in fact, goes to that very man - AJ Adams, former two-time BWF World Champion, Conqueror of Hellbound and perennial top contender. That's five, but what about the final spot?
Rayne: Okay, okay, you guys twisted my arm. I guess I'll join the Chamber Match. It sounds to me like it's lacking major star power!
Nick Webb: You're ridiculous!
After much deliberation and discussion, Jackson and Elise decided that they just can't decide who should get the final spot in the Elimination Chamber... so they would let the BWF superstars duke it out instead! Tonight's special BWF debut will only feature one huge match, but what a match it will be - the entire BWF will compete in an over the top rope battle royal, with the last man or woman standing earning entry into the main event of Survival of the Sickest! And that match starts right after the break... but first, one final announcement. BWF will continue to travel around for large scale pay-per-view events, but going forward, every episode of BWF Havok will officially air from the company's new home arena... the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois! The fans in Chicago cheer loudly at this announcement as "Crocodile Rock" cues up again and The Wyatts make their way out of the ring and up the ramp.
Nick Webb: An Elimination Chamber unification match, a new home arena for BWF, a new majority shareholder for the company, new co-Directors of Operation and even the possibility of Emily Corlen returning to action as an official BWF competitor... wow! So much just went down in BWF!
Rayne: And even more is about to! We're gonna have us a big ol' battle royal... right after this! Don't go anywhere!
Nick Webb: Hey, that's my line!

ENTRANTS
Akemi Hayashi, Alison James, Allen Chaney, Austin Scott,
Casey Campbell, Chris Maverick, Destiny Figgins, Fenryr Wulfsson,
Hardcore Mike, Jay Blazenwing, Kristy Jackson, Logan Havoc,
Omen IV, Sabrina Scott, Spyke Gein, Stone,
The Crimson Ghost, Van Biafra
The battle royal starts off in shocking manner, as multiple superstars (perhaps correctly) determine former World Champion Casey Campbell to be one of the biggest threats in this match. Through a coordinated assault by half of the competitors, Casey fights back but is ultimately eliminated. Soon after, Omen IV, Chris Maverick and Hardcore Mike are eliminated by Sabrina Scott, Logan Havoc and Spyke Gein, respectively.
Nick Webb: I still can't believe Casey's out! He had to be a favorite going into this after his match at WrestleFest against Johnny Maverick!
Through the chaos, The Justicars of Illium prove their bond to one another by staying united, eliminating Stone and Kristy Jackson. After eliminating Kristy, the BlazenTron begins playing static again, just as it did at WrestleFest. As Alison and Destiny look to one another, the crowd reacts as suddenly, two figures storm the ring from the crowd, grab the Justicars from behind, and lob them both over the top rope!
Rayne: Nick! That's Static Age!
Nick Webb: And they just eliminated the BWF Tag Team Champions from this battle royal!
The crowd boos as Kara Scene and Leland Morgan back up the ramp, motioning for gold while pointing at the now-eliminated Justicars. The girls give chase to the debuting team, chasing them through the curtain to a pop as Sabrina Scott goes over the top rope courtesy of Austin Scott. Austin says "That was for WrestleFest, little lady" and turns around, right into The Blazenwing (Running Discus Elbow) from Jay Blazenwing, sending him over the top and to the floor! Of course, Jay hams it up after scoring an elimination, only to walk into a huge meat hook clothesline from Allen Chaney! Allen lifts Jay up, hits The Set-Up (Double Arm DDT), then lifts him again for THE PUNCHLINE (Package Piledriver) before finally tossing him out of the ring.
Rayne: Blazenwing just went splat! HA!
Nick Webb: Don't get in Allen's way, that's for sure!
Representing The Rejects on the other side of the ring, Spyke Gein is in combat with The Crimson Ghost. Originally created by Spyke's adoptive father, Spyke is determined to find out who is under the mask, and tries repeatedly to unmask the superstar. Crimson Ghost fights it off, though, finally spraying Spyke in the eyes with red mist before eliminating him. Allen sees this and goes after Crimson Ghost, but is stopped in his tracks by Van Biafra, determined to make his mark against one of BWF's biggest. Logan Havoc and Akemi Hayashi, meanwhile, fight onto the apron, where Akemi recklessly hurricanranas Logan right off the apron to the floor... while also eliminating herself in the process. She doesn't seem too bothered, though, as she casually skips away after the fact.
Nick Webb: Follow the bubbles, I guess?
We're down to the final four, as Allen Chaney and Van Biafra do battle, while Crimson Ghost and Fenryr Wulfsson fight across the ring. After a few minutes of intense fighting, Crimson Ghost is the first to get eliminated, unable to match Fenryr's raw power. Van has Allen on the ropes, but the now targetless Fenryr sees an opportunity to pay the new Sovereign Champion back for taking his title a few weeks prior, and does so, surprising Biafra with a grab from behind and a deadlift into a toss over the ropes to the floor!
Rayne: Holy crap!
Nick Webb: Fenryr just deadlifted Van Biafra like he was a ragdoll! The man's nearly 200 pounds and Fenryr picked him up like -
Rayne: - like you'd pick up a donut?
Nick Webb: Or like you'd pick up divorce papers!
Rayne: Oh. Hey. Not cool.
We're down to the final two now - Fenryr Wulfsson and Allen Chaney! One of these two men will go into the main event of Survival of the Sickest to challenge for the unified BWF World Championship! They begin brawling after an intense stare down - its Fenryr, its Allen, its Fenryr, its Allen! Back and forth, the two intimidating men wage war across the ring, each trying to eliminate the other and claim victory, and each coming up painfully short in razor thin attempts at elimination. In an attempt to weaken Allen, Fenryr busts out Tyr's Hand (Iron Claw)! Allen drops to one knee, trying desperately to break the hold... and he's back up to his feet!
Nick Webb: How is Chaney on his feet right now!?
He's somehow fighting back! Allen practically hulks up as he breaks the claw to a surprisingly big pop from the BWF fans in Chicago, then rocks Fenryr back into the ropes with several stiff rights! With Fenryr backed into the ropes, Allen jumps back a few steps, charges and hits a Cactus Clothesline! Both men go over the top rope, but Allen holds on to the ropes as Fenryr hits the outside! Fenryr's manager Rune screams out in anger as the bell rings!
WINNER: Allen Chaney [26:37]
"Shimmy Shimmy Ya" by Ol' Dirty Bastard starts playing as Allen pulls himself back into the ring and smiles. He leans back into the corner and takes a breather, seemingly ready for the next challenge.
Nick Webb: Allen Chaney is the one! Allen Chaney is going to the main event of Survival of the Sickest to join Zoe Cooper, Gabe Shelley, AJ Adams, Elena Simonova and Johnny Maverick in the Elimination Chamber as they fight for the right to unify the Crisis and BWF World Championships!
Rayne: Even I have to give it up for Fatty McBigMac. He put on a hell of a match tonight, and he definitely earned his spot as the whipping boy in the Chamber Match.
Nick Webb: Rayne!
Rayne: C'mon. This isn't New York Math and Chaney doesn't have a one in six chance of walking out as Champ. You really think he has what it takes to take down Shelley? Adams? Cooper? Maverick? Simonova? The kid had a great night tonight, but in two weeks, he's going to find himself sorely out of his element.
Nick Webb: Judging from the reputation he garnered while competing in UX, one might consider Allen the heavy favorite going into this title match.
Rayne: Emphasis on heavy. HA!
Nick Webb: ANYWHO... we're out of time for tonight, ladies and gents. We'll see you next week with an all-new episode of Friday Night Havok! Same bat time, same bat channel! Good night from Chicago!
We see one final shot of Allen making his way around the ring, calmly celebrating his huge win, before the show fades to the BWF logo, and then finally to black.
